Read the whole series again and enjoyed it as much as the last two times.  So happy Gut is with the people who will love and protect him.   Michael needs to take care of his own problems,  if he happens to get to Brian please don't let Brian help.  Can't wait for the next chapter or chapters of this wonderful story.  Thanks again for sharing your talent.

Mel and Lindz are such sefish bitches. 'Gus is so demanding of my time.' Really, well she shouldn't have had children in the first place should she!

Your stories do get me riled up and you know I love anti Mel, Lindz & Mikey!

Just a thought, the boys have been living there for a year now, as John's birthday is soon & he had a party just afte thay arrived.  But I don't recall mention of Gus or Peter's birthdays.  Did I just miss reading this?

Thanks for this chapter, can't wait to see what idiocies/demands Mad Mikey the Moron comes up with next.  Would love to see if he is actually stupid enough to demand Brian support JR and what everyone's reaction would be!!

Take care

Deb L.

Wow.  What a fantastic chapter.  Love how you got Melanie to rethink her position in regards to Gus and how Lindsay was responsible for the change.  Maybe there is hope for them there.  Mikey seems to have tunnel vision.  Thankfully Ben doesn't.  I can't get over Mikey thinking that Brian should help him get custody of JR when he doesn't have the time or means to take care of her.  Can't wait for the next chapter in this saga!!

Author's Response:

My friend you have been with me since the beginning of this long saga.  I am always so grateful for your support!!!!  As I thought about the custody battle it seemed to me that there was no way M&L could win.  Linds is still dealing with her issues from childhood abuse.  I had a friend that had been sexually abused as a child.  He told me when those memories were "locked away" in his mind he could deal with it.  When he tried to open up that roo and resolve those issues he had a very difficult time and was never able to "lock them" away again.  He ended off jumping off a bridge and killing himself.  He is the basis for my Lindsay issues.  Mikey is unchaging, something we can always depend on.  Thanks for your review, I always look forward to them!!!!!!  Bill

Thank you for the latest chapter.  Well I was going to read it but decided to start from the very beginning of this great series.  So It will be awhile before I give a review.  I love this so much.  Thank you.

Author's Response:

I am impressed that you plan to start reading from the beginning.  That is a real time committment!!  Thank you for you lovely comments!!!!!!!!   Bill

My Sweet Baboo, Happy to see this new chapter, still waiting to see Justin's granny. I hope she loves Brian I think the babies will win her over. Surprised Mel realized not only is this good for Gus but for Linz as well. Linz is not mentally well enough to be the mom that Gus needs but mikey wants Brian to pay his lawyer for JR to live with mikey but wants his mother to actually raise her so he can be with her but not spening any money. Unless I've forgotten something I think he still works for Brian (doesn't really work, just mostly shuffles around) he isn't really parent materal it's just a way to be with Brian.Joan's storyline is conflicted for me she was an abused wife, but never stopped the hell Brian was going thru, I know she is old and sick but in my head I keep hearing her words "God gae you cancer for a reason" she really hurt him. LOVE SALLY

Author's Response:

Mt Darling Sally, always so happy to see your review!!!!! I thought I would get to Granny in this chapter but there was a lot of other stuff so she will be featured in the next update.  I agree about Mel & Linds.  Mikey first thought is always how something affects him.  Mikey thinks Deb could raise JR and Brian can support her.  Gotta love him cause you sure can't like him.  Even now Joan is not really ready to accept Brian for who he is.  She talked about his choice to be gay.  She needs to work that rehab progam a little harder.  Thanks for the nice comments. As always, I remain your Sweet Baboo

Another amazing chapter. Mel really is living in her own world but Lindsey is worse isn't she. I'm glad the right decision was made about Gus though. Michael, what can I say about his behavior and what he wants. There is no words strong Enough to say how nuts he is , is there. I love Jennifer she really knows how to be around Joan she handles that perfectly. Gus is such an amazing big brother I can't wait to see more interactions with him and the others.

Fantastic work x

Author's Response:

Thanks for all the nice commenst. I think M&L kind of bring out the worst in each other.  I think we can be glad that Lindsay is honest enough to know she isn;t equipped to deal with Gus while she is having her emtional issues.  Mikey is dependably self-centered making everything about himself.  Gus is in a great position with older cousins to play with and younger siblings to take care of.  He is a happy little guy.  Hope you continue tp enjoy the story!!!  Hugs,  Bill

OMGOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!! as u should know by now, I check this story for updates a couple of times a day, and woohoo!!!! i've never been as happy seeing "19" as i've been today!!! i just love this story!!!! but if i may, we need more michael bashing!!! we need brian to bring him and his daughter down a peg! it's only fair to Gus (and me lol). can't wait for your next update! please don't leave us hanging for too long. xoxo Lori

Author's Response:

WOW!!  Happy to see your review.  I am very flattered you enjoyt this long saga so much!!!!  Mikey is like the rock of Gilbrator, kind of blocking people and things to easily getting past by solid and unchanging.  I will try and update sooner!!!  Thanks for taking time to post comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Bill

Lindsay's selfishness means that she does not feel capable of managing the children and Mélanie will surely finally realize the great support of Brian and Justin as much financial as emotional because they first think of Gus and not to them. But I am delighted that Gus lives in this wonderful family with his dads.

I may be mean, but I would like the arrogance of the so-called best friend to make him lose his job and find him managing JR who is not an easy child because Mélanie favored her.

Now I look forward to meeting Justin's grandmother, she must be a character.

The conversation between Jennifer and Joan was interesting and I think Joan is starting to understand everything she has lost. Brian can forgive her for him but certainly doesn't need to see her again.

Author's Response:

I agree Lindsay has always been selfish IMO.  She is also dealing with emotional issues and that is not a good combination.  I think Mel is starting to realize how difficult it will be to manage with B&J's support.  Mikey can't really manage his won life let alone a child's.  With their long history Brian looks on Mikey as a brother.  He is never surprised by Mikey's actions and usually not bothered by them either.  I think Granny will prove to be very interesting.  I think Joan is like Craig she wants forgiveness on her own terms.  Thanks for the comments, I enjoyed them!!!   Bill

I love how Brian does know and realize he is loved these days
Lindsays response to Mel about the custody of Gus sounds like depression or something worse disinterest

Author's Response:

Lindsay still has lot of issues.  Sometimes when past abuse is not supressed any longer it is hard to deal with.  I think Brian is surprised and amazed by his life when he realizes how many people care about him.  Thanks for all your support!!!  I appreciate it!!  Bill

Ok brutal honesty I wanted to read that custody battle so bad, this was kind of let down. That being said I get why you fizzled it, so I will be sad for 24 hours and then I will get over it.

I love Gus and the babies, and I love Gus reading to Justin and his talks with Justin are some of my favorite parts of this story.

ok granny has furniture, now we just need to meet her, I believe she will love Gus, John, and Peter as much as Lily and Liam.

I have never been a forgive and forget person so Joan I don’t think Brian needs to forgive his life is PERFECT without her in it.

i do believe the custody of Gus will prove to be an issue for J. R. I am just not how that is going to play out my only hope is Michael DOES NOT end up with her because then she is Debbie’s headache.

Now I am going back to rereading In Sickness and In Health for the 50th time, maybe by the time I reread everything there will be another chapter...

Author's Response:

I was planning on a battle but I realized there really was no hope for Linds & Mel to retain custody, that was a lat minute substitution. Gus is a happy guy: he has big boy cousins to play with, baby brother and sister to take care of and full time access to Daddy & Papa.  I think Granny will be lots of fun!!  To me Joan is like Craig she wants forgiveness on her own terms.  Still thinks being gay is a choice.  She needs to work at true acceptance.  JR does knid of get shortchanged with Gus living with B&J but sometimes life isn't fair.  I am impressed if you have really read those 100 chapters 50 times.  I occasionally reread a chapter to refresh something in my mind but have never reread the whole story.  I will try to do better with updating.  Always look forward to your comments, Thanks!!!!  Bill

I so want to know what she said in the letter.

Gus is so cute with his siblings.  I'm glad he is going to live with Brian and Justin for good.  This is such a feel good story.  I love reading each new chapter.

Author's Response:

Next chapter I promise of the metter will be revealed.  I think Gus thinks life is perfect, big boy cousins to play with and baby brother and sister to take care of, What could be better!!!   This is a serious angst free zone.  I am happy to know you are still reading and enjoying.  Thanks for the review!!!!!  Bill

Hey Bill. I'm STILL reading this story, although I don't comment as much as I should. Usually, it's in passing on the way to someplace, or just as I'm sitting down to write myself. Yours is the only story I actually take a break for immediately when it's updated... the rest of this thought goes without saying since you know me.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that Lindsay- in a sense- talked some sense into Melanie. Although if I'm honest, I didn't expect any less from Lindsay. Her selfishness- no matter that it's medical in this iknstance- knows no bounds, and anything which takes the focus off of herself is just another nuisance. So yeah... No major suprises there. It's going to be interesting to see how Mel handles everything, especially in terms of her work schedule while Ms. Muffett keeps sitting on her Tuffett, especially in regards to picking up JR from some sort of daycare.

I think she'll find that she and Lindsay have very different meanings regarding the word partnership. But solely back to Melanie for a bit. Her wanting to battle for custody of Gus was NEVER about the little boy, but just her need to be right and to have something continually hanging over Brian's head like an anvil. Since it couldn't be his money, or need for her legal services she chose the ONE thing- the one PERSON- that would get him to take notice of her supposed importance...Gus!

I can't tell you what I really think of her selfish actions because this is a public site. But trust me when I tell you that the amount of profanity I would use to describe her would even make Jesus take a second look even with knowing me...LOL So suffice it to say that I really hate women like her, who are all about self absorption and don't hesitate to use a child to see to their own ends. But, that said I too, am wondering just how Melanie is going to make ends meet now.

Enter Mealymouth Michael Charles Novotny-Bruckner! He has absolutely NO EXCUSE not to support his little clone now. After all due to Deb's tears, he's working at Kinnetik... well for the interim, I hope <raised eyebrow, and some serious begging to commence in 5...4...3...2...>. It pissed me off to the highest point of pissitivity when he said that 'Brian always gave Mel and Linds cash so why shouldn't he help us out.  I am his best friend and he can certainly afford it.' How dare that little mot.. see what almost happened there?

As you already know, my feelings for Michael are NOT tamed in the slightest. But this right here...!!! And what pisses me off even more is that no matter who tries to tell him that he should be supporting his own daughter- the same child he nearly milked his testicle to death to eke out- he still comes up with saying that 'Brian can afford it.' Honestly, that's who should have been Melanie's target all along, and then perhaps she wouldn't be worried now about how she's going to make that claptrap of a household work without Gus in it.

As for Joan... <insert deep sigh here> She is trying, and since I'm a firm believer that forgiveness is for YOU and not the other person, I really hope that Brian can and will forgive Joan. However, I've also learned that you can truly forgive someone and STILL not want anything to do with them. So if that's the tract Brian must take for his own sanity, then he's entitled to it without fear of rejection and reprisal and Joan will just have to accept that. But I was glad that she and Jennifer had an honest talk. I do believe that it gave Joan a lot to think about in terms of her views about Brian and Justin's relationship. At least she's FINALLY recognizing that what they have is strong and good for Brian; that should at least count for something.

I'm certainly looking forward to more of this story, especially being surprised by Granny's visit. If she's anything like my grandmother was, Brian is in for a real treat in terms of her honesty and a lot of laughs in terms of her bluntness. Perhaps he will have met his match in sarcasm? LOL, time will tell!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response:

So nice to hear from you!!!  Hope you are well and dealing with Covid, sure is a crazy time.  Lindsay seems to know just had f-up she is and know Gus would be better taken care of by Brian and Justin.  I have always felt Lindsay is a really selfish person who just looks for what she can get from people.

You gotta love Mikey, he is one thing we can really count on in this world.  He never chnages, never learns, never grows.  Even Debbie is getting tired of his behavior.  I don't think Mel has ever asked Mikey for support money, she didn't need his little contribution when Brian was supporting their whole household.  To me Joan is like Craig - they wnat forgiveness on their terms.  She told Jennifer she didn't approve of Brian's life style CHOICES.  I think if Joan really accepts Brian and Justin she could be forgiven.  But a half apology is only good for half forgiveness.  Time will tell where the Joan saga goes from here.

I think of Granny as being Jennifer on steroids so she should be an interesting house guest.  Thanks for taking time to review!!!!  Hugs back to you!!  Bill

wow! linds doesn't want gus after all and mel ended the custody battle without a shot fired! didn't see that coming, but it does make sense. if linds loved gus and her family she wouldn't have selfishly wasted so much of the money brian sent with her gambling, and high balances at the cafeteria and gift shop where she worked in canada and spending on herself rather than her kids. and now she's just so stressed out, she really can't handle the kids full time. wonder if michael will wind up with JR after all if linds can't handle her either... i just hope b/j totally stop financial aid to mel and linds, even for JR. michael has to grow up. hmm, she gets along so well with nina that maybe ted and blake will wind up with two kids!! lol... can't wait to meet granny; that's gonna be a hoot!! so happy that gus is finally with his family that really does love him. brian is worried about 5 kids.... but i can't help remembering there are two more already fertilized eggs... kind of betting justin remembers them too... great job; love the story sooo mcuh!!

Author's Response:

Lindsay still has lots of issues and has trouble taking care of herself let alone anyone else.  Plus I have always felt she is a selfish bitch.  I don't think anyone think Michael would make a good full time caregiver for JR.  Ted and Blake is an interesting idea - I do sometimes steal from reader's comments.   I think Linds & Mel have recieved their last check from the Taylor-Kinney Bank.  I think if Justin even mentioned 2 more children, Brian would run out fo teh house screaming.  I think Granny will be lots of fun!!   Thanks for the review, I LOVE geeting them!!!  Reviews are what keeps me writing this long saga. I never thought it would go on this long.  Bill

Great chapter as always!!   I actually think I'm in shock - Melanie is going to give up Gus without a fight.   And she was truly taken back by what Lindsay had to say about Gus.     And that is the difference between Lindsay and Justin.   He loves having Gus hang out with him in his studio; it gives them time to spend together, plus Justin has given him his own easel and paints to work with.  It's not like he bothers him or hinders him from getting any work done.   And I kind of feel sorry for Joan.   She finally is getting the help she needs, and is changing her tune, and still Brian and Claire want nothing to do with her.   I do understand their feelings about it, though.   It's almost like its too little, too late to make much of a difference.    Hope you are doing well!!

Author's Response:

I think Mel realized she had not hope of winning a custody battle.  Lindsay still has a LOT of issues.  Brian has tried to help Joan and he does give her money each month but as she told Jennifer she doesn't approve of Brian's "choice" of life style.  As long as Joan stays clueless she will stay alone.  I am doing well and dealing with this crazy world we are living in right now.  Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Bill
