So sorry I messed up some words in my (no review );when starting it over. What I meant to say was that "Justin should tell Michael he is no longer welcome at his home and Brian should back Justin up". Not the jibberest that I wrote without reading it over. I loved this so much but you already know that. Will review after I have read the last chapter that you have written, although it will take me awhile. Thanks again for this story. Keeps me going.😊

I haven't reviewed lately because I am starting this again because it is my favorite, but staring it again I can see how many time Brian has warned Michael about his treatment of Justin and it keeps happening. Maybe it is time for Justin to tell Michale he is no linger Elmo me at his home and Brian backs him up. If Debbie does not understand that is onDeb. Just because someone has been a "so call friend" does not mean you have to keep them in your life and keep letting that person or person be rude to your partner. Had to get that off of my chest,been holding it in too long. You know from my other reviews that I love this long story and think you are the greatest writer and will continue to come back time and time again. Thank you.
Author's Response: I am always impressed when a reader says they are rereading this long saga. I have gone back to check on things that happened but never reread the whole thing. I am very flattered, thanks. I think of Brian and Mikey more as brothers than just friends. You put up with a lot more from family than friends. Justin knows that he is number one with Brian, I believe he is more amused by Mickey than upset or angry. Justin has never asked Brian to drop Mikey as a friend, he know there is too much history between the two men. Also neither Brian or Justin wanrt to do anything to hurt Debbie and if they cut all ties with Mikey that would hurt Debbie, even though she know her son is wrong. Hope that makes sense. debbie knows very well that micael has never contributed to jr's support and has done nothing serious about it. she seems perfectly happy letting others support her and let michael skate. if it really bothered her, she'd have ripped him a new one a long time ago... she grumbles about michael not doing his share, but that is as far as it goes...
Author's Response: Mothers and sons have complicted relationships. As a single mom Debbie always wanted to protect her son. Old habits die hard. I had an aunt who often spoke her son's name with a "poor" in front of it. There was nothing poor about him!

mark really likes molly's whole family so i think if his parents try to cause trouble he will distance from them.
i will say i think molly is acting very entitled to just tell b/j she's having her wedding there. it's only polite to ask even if she's sure they would welcome her having the wedding there. thought she was raised better than that...
$100 a month is a total joke but at least it's something. michael also should have a life insurance policy on himself for JR if something were to happen to him... and i could only hope...
i think david is getting the idea that he needs to man up and take care of business where andrea and jay are concerned. sounds like he's always been a weak sister, letting andrea run over him. it's actually surprising he had the balls to divorce her...
i agree it's time for justin to quit being so hypocritical of the age difference between him mother and her husband...
linds just needs to get better enough to have mel divorce her. she can run to that old girlfriend, carolyn, from college who is rich enough to support her and has an art gallery in arizona i think, as she did in another story. or commit suicide... anything so brian doesn't wind up supporting her and she gets out of mel's hair.
i actually think mel and leda might be good for each other. mel needs someone to show her how to be a better parent to JR and make her do it. mel loves JR and i do think she'd be a good parent if she got some "encouragement".
Author's Response: I am so sorry not to have replied to this review. Not sure how I missed it. I agree that Mark enjoys Molly's family and it is very different than his, in many ways! Molly knows Brian very well, she was sure he would agree to anything she wanted. $100 is still better than zero. David is kind of a wimp but knows he needs to peovide some support for his son and allow him to grow up. I don't think Linds is really up to making any plans. Mel needs help to be a good parent. Eddie's visit should be fairly non-stressful. it soounds like he will be coming with an open mind and will certainly understand all is well and granny is in no danger at the taylor-kinney's home. granny is a wealthy woman, even more so than her sons think, and i think there is nothing wrong with them showing some concern for granny, especially due to the nonsense kate filled them with. it should be quickly understood and accepted, i would think.
i'm really happy that joan and the boys had such a good lunch and that joan treated justin with respect and i'd even say a bit of friendship and acceptance of him as a person. i'm hoping she can talk with the parish priest, who seems pretty enlightened on the gay situation to help joan understand not everything in the bible can be read with today's eyes and not know the history of some of the words and what was acceptable in biblical days. jt secrets in his "forever yours" very long and wonderful story, goes deeply into explanations of what some of the words used in the bible meant then vs what they have come to mean today. homosexuality was not looked down on or condemned back then... but men, some with agendas, wrote the bible and all is sometimes not quite what it seems. i'm catholic myself and had no problem understanding the points made in jt secrets coverage of the topic. it is a super story and i highly recommend it for those who may not have read it. like this one, it does not have all the terrible angst b/j go thru in so many of the stories about them, which makes it a joy to read, as this story is.
will say more later but wanted to hit these two topics first.

thank you so much for the update; it's a good one! i want to read the chapter a few more times and think a bit before i do a full review but i have to say i am so disgusted with michael i could cheerfully slit his throat. again someone has to take over paying out for his daughter and it's a kid, for god's sake! michael has no bills, low rent and no reason on earth not to kick in to help his daughter financially... except i would bet he's still buying his toys off the internet. grrrrrrr.....

two things, i think. first, i've always liked jennifer and even defended her. the only issue i have with her was the tuition for jr. that was a biggie to me, and it certainly will be interesting to see how that play out when it's time to acturally pay it and everyone finds out she's still in private school. but i'm like brian is with joan. i know she's had a miserable life always been disliked, even hated, her whole life. but i think she is also a very strong, some would say stubborn!, person in some ways, determined to keep people away from her and not changing her mind about that, at least until now perhaps. if she can stay sober and allow tillie and maybe the priest into her life a bit, she could open up a whole new world for herelf with brian and the grandkids. it would be kind of nice if she could have an epiphany and make some changes in how she acts.
secondly, don't you think yoy may be a little "overly harsh" about david? i doesn't sound like her son ever complained too much to his dad before he met up with the kenney's and it's often too tempting to take the easy route when no one is prodding you to do differently. but it seems his eyes are open now, probably even more after josh's dad talks to him about andrea's behavior so i'm thinking he could pretty easily decide he wants custody of jay to raise him with his new wife. it sounds like his fiance really likes jay and would be willing to have him live with them.
redemption would be a very good thing for both joan and david with their respective issues... just a thought...
Author's Response: I was just giving you a hard time over Jennifer but I do think that she is as close to perfect as anyone can get. I personally know of someone like David. Rather than have to deal with an ex-wife they ignore their child. I find that behavior reprehensible. Maybe Andrea would not be as overbearing with her son if David voiced his disaproval. Jay said he wasn't sure his father would really want Jay to live with him. However misguided Andrea is, at least she is interested in her child and doing what she thinks is best for him. I think poor Jay like JR has lost out in the parent lottery. I don't think a father should need to be prodded. That is what makes life interesting, difference of opinion. I still love you!!!!! Bill

OMG OMG OMG!!!! i am totally in LOVE with ted!!!! so proud of him for standing firm with mel!!!! YOU ROCK!!! and i totally love granny and am really happy to see her move to pittsburgh. she will love all the children and they will love her and brian will quickly come to love her, i think!
linds really fell apart after gus left but i'm not surprised. think she's been hanging on by a thread for a long time. mel is gonna have a tough time but i'm sorry to say she deserves every bit of it. i really hope brian stays out of that mess and doesn't give her ANY money. it's time to ben and michael to stand up and take some responsibility.

a final comment about ju's private schooling. with linds prolific spending on herself, jr was never destined to be able to attend private school. the only way she got there was due to b/j. when brian backs off from supporting the girls and jr, she will never fit into the private school lifestyle. the income level is not there for her to "keep up with" the other kids in any manner... clothes, activities, etc. she's already pretty spoiled and not being financially equal to her friends will cause bitterness and she will be a total bitch as she gets older. that's why i'd like to see her go to ted and blake. they would straighten her out, give her the love she needs and help her to become a decent person as she gets older. i honestly think brian, with all the best intentions, is doing more harm than good in the long run for her.

ted did a great job with michael. can't wait until brian hopefully tells him he will not give him any money at all for jr. if ted did ever got custody of jr, it would be nice for brian to help him a bit, without michael or the munchers knowing. and hopefully, not another penny for mel and linds. brian needs to cut them loose so they can take responsibility for themselves and hopefully become better people. now that b/j have gus, there is no reason to continue to enable their incompetence...in my opinion.
this story absolutely rocks and just gets more and more exciting with each chapter. can't wait for the next one!! you are awesome, pa boi!!

these are such great reviews! i enjoy them almost as much as the story itself.
much as i dislike mel and lindsay, i think they are finally making some good decisions. linds is far too vulnerable and fragile right now to give gus the love and attention he needs and she made that clear to mel. that made mel change her outlook on the custody and that was a really good thing. i think mel is close to a complete breakdown and think JR needs to be taken in by someone in the family, not b/j tho. mel and linds have a lot to recover from and need a calm and quiet homelife to have any chance of mentally healing, in my opinion. JR does seem to respond well to consistent and firm authority... as in the fruit eating. i'd really like to see ted and blake take her, at least temporarity. and i'm not liking ben in this story or in so many other stories i've read. he sees things clearly but does nothing and continues to tolerate michael's horrible behavior. i can't understand how he can continue to "love" michael, who is nothing more than a petulant child moiuthing off to everyone and constantly whining about everything and everyone. there is nothing there to love.
brian never knew a mother's love and i think jennifer has wormed her way into his heart with her love and support for him. i think he really loves her and deeply appreciates her and likes getting some mothering he never had. and jen does seem to know when to back off as she did with brian's walking out on justin when he came home and found joan in the pool annex.
this is my very favorite story and i am soooo glad i found it!!!
Author's Response: Sorry for the long delay in asnwering this review. I agree Mel & Linds have too many issues of their own to deal with Gus. Mel let her jealousy and dislike of Brian to warp her feeling for Gus. I always think something in Ben likes being the "parent/adult" in his relationship with Michael. Jen and Brian had some moments early in their relationship but I think now they really appreciate each other. Jennifer love the mother role and is happy to embrace Brian, she understand how his childhood damaged him. I am really happy yu are enjpinmg my long saga. Thanks for your nice comments. Bill

had a hard time registering for some reason but wanted to comment on this story. i totally love it!!! i've read and re-read it at least 15 times! it is so wonderful to find a b/j story that isn't buried in angst before they finally figure things out. this is so perfect, taking on michael, mel, and lindsay and i'm loving every minute of it. gus belongs with his daddies and jr belongs anywhere but with brian and justin! would like to see mel lose her current job, finally agree to get some help with her issues and for her and linds and jr to move to florida and leave the kinney family alone. i'd hate to see either of them get back into brian and justin's business. can't wait to meet justin's grandma. i'll be brian winds up loving her but probably not at first! i check several times a day to see if a new chapter is up. i almost can't wait to see how things go with everyone. ty ty ty so much for this series!!!

I always liked your stories, but you lost yourself a reader.
Just what exactly did you mean by this statement? "You are stuck in the eye for an eye oldb testament section of the Bible. It appears to me that you are more Jewish than anything else." As I am Jewish myself I find that last line highly offensive.

Author's Response: Sorry you feel that way and I apologize for offendng you. I did not mean to offend anyone. The old testament of the Bible, to me, has a much different tone, very much about rules & punishments, than the new testament which talks much more about forgiveness & inclusion. I myself am offended by many "so called Christians" quoting from the old testament and never using passages from the new which are Christ's teachings. It was thoughtless of me to imply Jewish people are violent or wrong minded in some way. I just meant he seemed to stuck in quoting the Bible before Christ arrived and so, like Christ, he was Jewish. Again I sincerely apologize for offending you and that was never my intent. Bill

Yay, I have been waiting for this. So Craig finally took the cowards way out. Evidently his brother doesn't know about the pregnant girl friend. Perhaps Jennifer should talk to Janice & Ken before deciding not to attend the funeral. It might be time for the truth to come out!

Hi sweet Baboo, Holy Cow! when started the new story, you sure got everyones attention! Well Craigs dead, who knows where he will go--God doesn't want him he has broken every commandment more than once--and even the devil doesn't want him. His brother Brad sounds like he is a jerk. I wonder about Craig's parents, how do they feel about Jenn, Molly and Justin or is Brad voiceing his own view? Justin and Molly will be devastated when they learn he took his own life, it seems like he did this as the final fuck you, to make them feel guilty. When the babys are born they soon forget about Craig. I was surprised by Peter wanting to call Justin "papa" somehow I think it's about the newborns coming home and he feels that Justin won't love him anymore. Great chapter. love your Sally

Hi Bill, great start to the new story!!! I certainly wasn't expecting that!! Wow, Craig is dead, and it seems his brother shares his lovely views as well. And that comment of his to Jennifer "you have always seen only your own viewpoint and refused to try and learn from others?" Yeah, right. And what about him? Obviously, nothing Jen tries to tell him will penetrate through his thick skull as well. He and Craig were obviously cut from the same cloth.
But I thought Peter wanting to call Justin Papa was very sweet. The two of them have always shared a very special bond, and he does see Justin as being a father to him, and he's never had that before. I think Justin handled the situation very well.
Author's Response: I thought this would make an interesting way to start the new story. One departure, 2 new arrivals!! After all Brad is a man a simple woman like Jennifer could learn a lot from just observing a man like Brad. She could learn there are more a--holes in the world then asses. Wow not sure that Brad can refuse to allow Craig’s kids from attending their fathers funeral even if they were estranged. Brian is never going to sit back quietly if Justin’s wants to attend and enter a vipers den unprotected
