this ending sucks

Author's Response:

Well, luckily your opinion means nothing to me.

Why don't you sit down and a write a story with an ending that doesn't 'suck', instead of reading my stories?

Another great story, Jessica! This open ending is full of hope!

Thank you for sharing :)

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading! And for commenting - it is really encouragement. Am really happy to hear that you liked it :D

I did want the ending to be hopeful - it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, even in that world.

Hey Jessica!

I'm finally able to resume reading your story and I'm still enjoying this a lot. I even checked Oscar Wilde bio to refresh my memory and I have to thank you for that, as there were a few facts I ignored. Anyway, finishing your story now :)

Author's Response:

:) Hey there! I hope you do like the rest of the story. I live Oscar Wilde, and devoured so many little tidbits that I didn't know before, when I did the reasearch for this fic.

Wonderful! I love how you managed to weave much of the iconic moments from the show into this last chapter... although, I was hoping to have the reunion between Brian and Justin. Any chance for an epilogue?

Author's Response:

Aaaw, thank you! So glad that you liked it :) And thanks so much for reading and reviewing - it keeps me going.

I can't see an epilogue happening at this time, unfortunately. I feel that writing further on this will ruin the mood of this story. Maybe if I change my mind, lol.

I loved the unique setting of this story! And it sooooo begs for a continuation (hint, hint) to see how Brian rescues the man he loves. I hope if you have time down the road you might give us a sequel.  :)  Thank you for writing this story, and for posting it on here. I think it was beautifully written.  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Kim,

This response is much delayed, but I had an insane week. I can't thank you enough for your kind words, your support, and your encouragement. The blue ribbon too is so appreciated - I am honoured!

Thanks for everything that you do - you're awesome!

I have an excellent imagination so I can see Justin fooling the doctors, Brain being released and both of them happy in France. Great story.

Author's Response:

:)

Thank you! I am so glad that you liked this story, and thanks ever so much for your reviews. Much appreciated.

There are so few historical stories in the QAF fandom, and I don't think any have in been written in this period of time., that yours is a wonderful read. The QAF characters fit perfectly (which of course is a bit sad because it wasn't a good time to be out and proud), and I love how you write dear Oscar Wilde. I didn't know that his lover had abandoned him after the trial, poor man.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your lovely review. I'm really happy and touched that readers enjoyed this story.

Bosie (Lord Alfred Douglas) abandoned Wilde while he was in jail, and they were at loggerheads because of certain things Lord Douglas wanted to publish, which Wilde had to block via friends on the outside. They had a few cordial meetings after Wilde was released, but, Wilde was mostly abandoned by him. Speculation is the Lord Douglas's struggles with religion and his sexuality led to his bitterness with Wilde, and, subsequently, with Wilde's close friends.

(sheesh, I am such a nerd!!!)

Oh, no! Such heart-achingly beautiful scenes together, only to have Justin taken away! Brian will be devastated... and I think I am too!

Author's Response:

Thanks so very much for reading and reviewing. It makes me really happy to read how into the story you are!

Wonderful story - but then your stories always are. I've just read all 4 chapter and loved how quickly I got drawn into this world. I'm definitely feeling pain and worry for both Brian and Justin and surprisingly for Oscar as well. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

Thank you for saying that - you're way too kind :)

I'm very happy to read your comments; I was excited and simultaneously nervous when I wrote this story, because I had no idea how readers would feel. I am thrilled that you feel for Oscar as well :)

Wonderful! It's a rare thing when a Fic can immediately pull you in and transport you to another world so quickly and completely. You had me in that cell with Biran, feeling his pain and longing within the first few sentences. The conversation with Wilde is an ingenious way to pull emotions from Brian.

Already anticipating the next chapter.

Author's Response:

This is such a wonderful review :)

I'm really happy to hear that you are enjoying the story. It's quite angsty, plus it's historical, so I knew that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. Thus, I get really excited when someone tells me that they are enjoying it, especially the Wilde angle :D Thank you!

I'm totally humbled and touched to see this story here. It's such a beautiful gift. Reading it here once again made me realize how truly wonderful it is :)

Thank you so much for sharing :)

p.s

I've decided to come here and post a long fics that I've written and posted a while back on LJ. I plan on sharing even more soon :)

Author's Response:

You're so sweet! I should be thanking you for your prompt - no way would I have come up with this on my own. I am so happy that you like it! I was SO worried when writing it that you'll think 'WTF is this????'

Also, writing this historical fic has prompted me to pick up a sci-fi fic I had pretty much abandoned!

Wow, just completed reading your first three chapters, incredible.

So looking forward to more.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm definitely intrigued!! Very interesting premise. Will be looking for more of this story :) Thank you

Author's Response:

:)

Thank you! Happy that the historical aspect hasn't put you off yet.

You realize that if you had left this story where you did, I would have had to kill you, right?  LOL!  Thanks again for posting your story on MW, Jessica. It is greatly appreciated, and I am vastly enjoying this historical AU.  In fact, your story and a writer's prompt I saw have inspired me to work on a historical fic of my own! Working on it now (after the Test is over).  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hahahahaha! I'm so glad to hear your words, because I knew that a story of this nature would definitely not be everyone's cup of tea. I briefly contemplated the fic to be Brian & Alan Turing, but came back to Wilde because of the ability for more introspection and emotion, and less exposition. Writing this has also  inspired me to pick up a story I abandoned in the summer - a QAF sci-fi time-travel story. I figure if I can publish histrorical, I should make myself muddle through sci-fi :P

Glad to hear that you're going to be writing anew story soon, and as always, your encouragement and support is deeply appreciated.
