Hi again! Thanks for your long answer to my last review. It was very interesting and “brain-stimulating” :-) The more I think about it the more I have to agree with what you wrote. Brian was able to live this kind of relationship, almost never questioning what Justin’s doing (I remember this scene after Daphne’s party when Brian simply said “You’ve kissed him” not asking why although he seems to be irritated, maybe also a bit amused that he broke his own rule), letting him made his own mistakes, but standing by his side (Pink Posse and other situations) – it was his “call where he wanted to be” – To understand that this didn’t mean that Brian didn’t care but wanted to let him choose was something Justin wasn’t able to accept / or understand. And I agree, I think he was too young, too little experience with life, at this point when they met he didn’t know much about relationships at all and I think at his age he wasn’t able to understand this kind of relationship which Brian offered. And anyway I think there are less people who are really able to live such relationship no matter what age. Myself can’t – I think. :-)
A question: What do you think, why didn’t Brian tell Justin about his cancer? Was he afraid that Justin would react with some kind of pity or was he really afraid Justin could leave because he “would be no longer perfect”?
Okay, this chapter. Again very well written. I like the way you let the conversations happen. The one between Judson and Brian shows again how much Brian still loves Justin. Makes me happy! I know that it’ll be a long way but maybe they can do it right this time. There are so many issues to clear, but that’s one of the aspects which makes your story so brilliant, exciting and interesting. And as I mentioned before I love this conversation between Jim and Justin. It’s nice to see that someone really seems to care not only about Brian but also about Justin. Jim seems to realize that they shouldn’t protect Brian from Justin but help them fix things. It seems as if Brian had told him very much about his past with Justin and Jim also seems to think that they belong togehter in some way and that Justin hasn’t hurt Brian on purpose but because of his youth, his insecurity and his unexperience. And Justin’s very honest, confessing some of his mistakes. What makes me a little bit sad is that this kind of conversation should have been actual between Brain and Justin. I’m looking forward to the next chapters! Amazing story! Warmest regards, a.

It seems that Judson knew in advance that if Justin ever came back Brian would take him back in a heartbeat. But with Justin there to back him up with dealing with the Liberty crew it won't be as bad. It's definate. The cancer is back. Love the talk with Jim especially the introspective on Michael. You nailed it. Like how you go through their difficult times and question it. This is one of my favorite chapters because of the shopping trip. It's so enjoyable to watch Brian with Gus and JR. They start with food and I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Your shopping chapters are some of my favorites because we learn more about the kids and how much Brian cares.
Author's Response: I can't see Brian entering a relationship with somebody and not tell them how he feels about Justin. That would be highly unfair. So, yes, Judson is aware of the situation, and has accepted it. Thanks for saying that I nailed the Michael/Brian relationship, and the Brian/Justin one! :-) I loved writing the shopping trip - Brian and Justin without interference from others, and a chance for Brian to spend time with the kids. Part two of the shopping trip is up! :-)

So the cancer is back, that is a bummer. Great talk between Justin & Jim and a really interesting take on B&J's relationship that actually really makes sense. I love this story!!! Brian is such a good Dad to both Gus & JR looking out for them and showing how important Gus is to him. Bill
Author's Response: Thank you, bill! Very glad to hear you liked the talk between Jim and Justin, and even better that my take on the relationship makes sense! You have no idea how much it means to me to hear that!
