An amazing chapter. There are so many ups and downs. At least for those readers like me who want to see them together again. Must be so offending and painful for Justin to see Brian and Judson together and how the behave. And then on the other hand there are Brian’s inner thoughts “My Justin – Looks like shit and is still so beautiful”. “He wants me back. I want him back”. Great! Very good written. And at the end of this chapter I feel so sorry for Brian. For some people friendship has sadly not the same meaning as for others. Warmest regards, a.
Author's Response: I think most people interested in QaF are invested in the relationship Brian and Justin share. I think it's healthy for Justin to see that Brian may want him, but he doesn't need him - he can build a life for himself without Justin. If Justin wants Brian, he really needs to pull up his socks! I'm especially glad you enjoy their "inner voices" because those are difficult to write. What does Brian sound like in the privacy of his own head? If you like it, I got it right.. Really happy you enjoy my story! :-D

Ok, let me get this straight. Gus is six and knows whether his moms are having sex or not? Really?
Ted should have been fired right then and there. What's he have against Brian now? If he isn't happy with his job as a lowly accountant, leave. I don't blame Blake for being disappointed.
Same thing with Mel. Not happy about being at the party, she could've found somewhere else to be.
Brian has taken up modeling? Steve was cute. Brian owns The Three Ring Circus I assume.
Brian freaks internally wanting Justin back. Jen knows Justin wants Brian back. She isn't a happy camper about it.
Poor Judson doesn't see it coming.
Author's Response: Yes, you got that right. Gus knows. Kids can be perceptive.
I agree, if Ted isn't happy in his job, he should leave. Only, where would he go? Mel - she has reason to be testy, you just wait and see! ;-)
Glad you liked Steve! Brian's modeling - not entirely by choice...
Judson - he's been around the block. :-) And that's all I'm going to say for now... :-D
Thanks for commenting!

Ok. First, Gus knows whether his moms are or aren't having sex? At six years old? Really?
If Mel isn't happy to be there, why not be somewhere else?
What's up with Ted and that ad? That's not like him unless he's out to get Brian. Wondering about that. If the ad doesn't begin until next week then they can stop it. Don't blame Blake for being disappointed with Ted. Brian should have fired him then and there.
Poor Judson. Doesn't see it coming.

JR's dad is there, yet she calls Brian Dada. That is telling. It's obvious that the kids come first to Brian. Justin's observations appear to be spoton. That JR is something else with her getting someone to suck her sucker for her. Haha. This is were Melanie comes off as a bitch, I'm glad that changes. I hadn't notice how Debbie took such devious delight in pointing out Justin. Then Mikey and his gleeful remarks. Yuck. It had to hurt with Justin's mother said he was back for bad. But it's obvious to us the reader that Brian still cares. Mel's tongue is really sharp, but Emmett is there to call her on it. What's with Ted, he's almost as bad as Mikey. We meet Jim. Gus knows him and I was never quite sure what his place was with Brian. Along with Ken and Dave. The part with the courier was delicious. He kind of reminds me of Justin when he and Brian first met. It's also good to know that Brian wants Justin as much as Justin wants Brian. Of course, that means Judson might lose. Ted and that fourth ad, now that was beyond bad. Even Blake is not happy about what Ted did. Deb seems to think it's alright to steal and then show the world what you found. Please!
Author's Response: Thank you for your comments! I love that you give me such in-depth feedback! It enables me to understand what the reader sees, and how the story works for you. Great stuff, and much appreciated!

J'aime bien le début de cette histoire, mais c'est bizarre de voir Brian en amour avec un autre que Justin ! Même si Judson a l'air d'être un mec bien
Author's Response: Merci beaucoup!

Hi, Beth! As you probably already know, so many things I continue to like in this story. The complexity, the maturing of Brian in a way that is still IC but much like I would see him in the future. The way he loves and takes care of both his son and JR. The jealousy so obvious in Justin, and the innermost thoughts of Brian's turmoil at seeing him for the first time again. Even the surprising reaction of Jennifer's dislike of her own son (at least for now - I know this is a long story, so hopefully that will change eventually). Her strong support of Brian. Very intriguing.
Mel and Ted. Ugh. Mel is being her normal, snarky self, while Ted has reverted back to his porn ways, instead of concentrating on what is most important - recalling what Brian has done for him in the past when he practically pulled him out of the gutter.
So many aspects to this story that I love! But the richness and scope of the story is what draws me in. And while I admit to not particularly caring for Brian being with someone else, I can still see how his previous relationship with Justin would have been the motivation for him even being ABLE to be in another serious relationship.
Interesting, too, to hear Justin's thoughts while observing Judson and Brian, for only HE would really know the depth of feelings and intensity there through his own experience.
Once more, I can't thank you enough for posting this on here. Such an intriguing, wide-ranging story! So glad you didn't 'leave it on the shelf,' but your friend persuaded you to post it! Looking forward to reading the next part. And welcome again to our 'family.' ~Kim
Author's Response: Hi Kim! Thanks again for the welcome to the family! :-) Thank you so much for your comments - I do love it when a reader picks up on the little things, as you have done.
Jen - she'll grow up some, with a little help from her friends. ;-) Actually, I'm hoping that the growth of all characters will become apparent in the course of the story. And yes, it IS a long story. Right now, I think I'll have 100+ chapters once it's all typed up. I'm very glad I didn't leave it on the shelf, because it's wonderful to see how people get their teeth into my story.
Just posted chapter four ;-)

Ted betraying Brian is quite a shock. Wonder why he would do that. If I was Brian I would not invite some of these people to my house. I love your take on these relationships it is really original and keeps me guessing and wondering. Really enjoying this story. I was happy to see chapter 3 posted, can't wait to read more. Bill
Author's Response: Thank you Bill! I wouldn't want these people around, either. Wouldn't even want to work with them! Then again, Ted has a history of being a jerk toward Brian, and Brian hired him anyway. So, while they all seem to think Brian is a monster, he often shows in little ways that he is not. It's so much fun when somebody tells me I keep them guessing! Thank you! :-D
