Author's Response: Believe me, I had reservations about writing it for the same reasons. In a lot of ways, it is just another 'Hurt Justin' fic in a sea full of them already. But I hope there are at least some redeeming qualities that make it enjoyable to read. :) And you came in near the end, so lucky you!

I am so in love with this story! I started reading your stuff a while back and I have to say you're probably one of the best writers on this site. I think that you captured all the characters perfectly. Can I ask when you're gonna be updating again? Also as far as Brian being OOC goes I think it actually makes sense that he would be a little. After all hr almost lost Justin twice. I anxiously wait for more!

Author's Response: Oh I'm so glad! A protective Brian is my favorite kind so that's how I tend to write him. As for Michael, I wouldn't expect much of his jealousy to show up. I'm not really an anti-anyone person. Sometimes I think Michael opens his mouth and says things he shouldn't, and he'll do that here, but it's not particularly out of jealousy. As for the boy, assuming you connect the dots, you'll find out really soon. I don't really hid his identity much in the coming chapters. Thanks!

This is an amazing start. I love stories set after the bashing. Poor Justin, I just want to cuddle him. He's so scared and broken. Hopefully, Brian can fix him over time.
I loved Brian helping him with his hand, and I also loved how he thought about how just months before, Justin wanted to be wherever he was, and that he'd hope he'd get that back.
Can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Yeah I'm a sucker for post-bashing fics too so I figured I'd write one myself. :) Granted, I exaggerated Justin's condition a lot for the sake of the story, but hopefully it's still pretty good. Brian is pretty dedicated to getting Justin back, so there'll be a lot of those little scenes where he helps Justin out, like with his hand or whatnot. I hope you continue to enjoy it! Thanks!

Oh, i'm loving this already :) I really feel like you write emotions so well and it all feels realistic, which is one of the thing I love the most about your writing; Brian having a shitty day, losing a client, being afraid of going home, almost dreading it... Justin being so scared to go out and the way his body respond to the mere idea of leaving his safe place. I really am eager to know more :) Thank you for sharing this story with us!
Author's Response: Yay! I'm so glad! It's funny because I feel like the thing I struggle with most is writing emotions and getting those across to the reader. I'm glad that it works though. Justin's struggle is the main focus of the story, so hopefully his evolution will continue to be interesting. Thanks for letting me know what you think and I hope you like what's to come! :)
