Hi, I was revisiting your story (again!) and I realize I hadn’t comment on the end of this one, which kind of makes me a bad reader. So first of all, congratulations!!! It is quiet an accomplishment to write such a marathon story! What, 135 chapters if we count both? It is very impressive. I really like your universe and I’ve been kind of using it as a security blanket, constantly re-reading it in the last few months that have been very stressful. I find it comforting because B/J have such a strong relationship in this that we know that whatever happens, everything is going to be ok for them.
In this specific chapter, I must admit I’ve been kind of thrown off by that thing with Melanie. It seems really out of character... I mean, she certainly has her misgivings and can overreact to certain things (especially if she feels out of control or when it touch her competitive strike/insecurities), but over something like that? It is not like her. She’s really big on community spirit, equality and solidarity (and sincerely, not just when it suits her like Lindsay sometimes), so Gus helping a less privileged classmate doesn’t seem like something she could ever reprove, on the contrary... And while not especially warmed about the nephews, she never seemed hostile either. I must admit it confused me a bit.
However, I wasn’t surprise by Ron pitiful letters at all. When we met him, it was obvious to me that he was not ready to put on all the necessary efforts to rebuild his relationship with his sons. He doesn’t even seem to realize the seriousness of his abandonment. But I’m glad that Claire seems to come around and is starting to understand the severity of her actions. She’s not a bad person, merely someone kind of weak and passive and lacking certain ressources (I’m talking more psychological than material here). But those are things that can be developed when a person is ready to take responsibility and work on herself. It won’t be magical and repair everything, but it would be good for the boys if she does.
A thing I think you succeed so well with in your universe is to create interesting original characters (or developing canon minor ones) in a way that makes us care about them, which is not easy to do in fanfiction. I especially like the O’Briens and Kevin. He is such a sweetheart and I love the relationship he developed with Jennifer and also Brian and Justin. It is something that is bringing the Taylor-Kinneys and the O’Briens together in a way that is on the road of making them more family than simple friends. It really shows the power of a child that is different, it’s beautiful. I’m glad Roxane confronted her mother about it, good for her. Their rejection of Kevin is just horrible. Grandparents are supposed to be the ones who find you wonderful for merely existing, not people who judge and discredite you, especially just because a child is different from the others.
Not specifically related to this chapter, I also really love the Nina and Teddy Man storyline. You know, I don’t recall reading any other story where Ted becomes a father. In the way you describe it, it really suits him. It’s beautiful to see his loving and caring nature in this way, both with Nina and Violet, and to see Nina coming out of her shell in this new environment. I can’t wait to see Ted in Disneyland tought. I think it is nearly as improbable/funny as Brian in Disneyland!
I am also curious about the integration of Joe in the family. It will be an interesting shake on things in the Novotny-Horvath house, probably changing the family dynamic. It will be interesting to follow.
Can I dare ending this with a kind of request (or merely suggestion...)? I would really like to also see a more thoroughly storyline for Emmett in a further story. Outside B/J, he is my favorite QAF character. I realize that your story is very family-oriented and Emmett is nowhere in a place to make the decision to have children at this moment of his life (if ever, it’s not necessary that everyone have children!), so I was thinking maybe something related to his family in Hazelhurst? Like a cousin or nephew who runs away from home and come to him for help, either for being gay (or lesbian, or transgender) or for any other reason. That could shake up his life a bit, maybe force him to deal with a part of his past and people he tought he had definitely put behind him. It is really just a tought, feel free to ignore me or do whatever you want with that! I would just really enjoy reading a more important plot about him.
So courage, keep up your good work and I can’t wait to read the next sequel of this story! :)
Author's Response: Just found this review, so sorry to have ignored it. You must have posted it when the review notices werem't working. I'm so happy to know you enjoyed the story. If I could go back I would elminate the whole Melanie/school thing. No one semed to like it but it seemed like a good idea at the time, not so much now. Kevin is a pretty popular character which I think is great. The problem with all my story is that there is so many characters that is hard to find time to include them all the story. I like your idea of a family member coming to Em for help. I hope to have next installment posted soon. Thanks for you nice long review and I'm sorry not to have respinded sooner. BIll

It doesn't matter how long your updates take they are soooo worth it. This one was really nice with Brian and Justin getting some alone time thanks to Jennifer and Tucker. What's up with Melanie. I think if an orbitrator got the case she wouldn't come up smelling roses. Hope that Ben gets to spend more time with JR, he's pretty much the only one who cares for the little girl. Like John and Peter's take on their letters. Hope Claire is changing but I don't see her as being able to be responsible for her sons.
Author's Response: My friend I know I have told you before how much I appreciate all the support you have given my saga from the beginning. You have made it more fun to write. I thought B&J deserved a weekend of lust & carnal activities. Claire has a couple fo years of jail time so J&P will be almost adults by the time she gets out. Nice that she is finding something positive in life. She is also a victim of Jack & Joan parenting. I think J&P are happy to think that Claire is being more realistic view of her life. My dear Sweet Baboo, Santa just gave me my Christmas wish--your chapter. I will never understand when Gus does a good thing in helping others, his mothers act like it's a crime. The bit about the tution was just dumb --Brian and Jus foot the bill for everything when it comes to Gus. Kevin is such a sweetheart and they didn't want the inter-action between them, Brian has grown so much, loving Jus and Gus just opened up his flood gates. Can't wait for the new story. Hope you have a beautiful Christmas with only wonderful things for the coming year. Your Sally forever
Author's Response:
My Darling Sally, no chapter feels complete to me until I read your review. Mel & Linds have a unique view of life which seems to not have much basis in reality. Hopefully Mel's counseling will help her see life as it really is. If she doesn't straighten up Mother Taylor may have to beat the shit out of her. I think Brian never knew unconditional love until Gus & Justin appeared in his life, no coincidence it was on the same day. It was Kismet!!! I hope you have wonderful holidays and we all have a stupendous 2018!!! As always, your Sweet Baboo

Great story. Hope to read the "Taylor-Kinneys do Disney". That should be fun seeing how Brian handles Disney with all his "boys" including Justin.
Author's Response: Who would ever think that Brian would plan a trip to Disney. I think all the "boys" will enjoy Disney, although personally I think Disney is kind of a cult. All that "have a magical day" kind of gets on my nerves. Lots of people do really love it. Thanks for the review, I think of reviews as kind of magical!!!! Bill

A bittersweet time. Another ending. *sob*. On a high note, I can now put it onto my kindle and re-read it in it's entirety. (again)
Grandma Jen time is always a joy to read about. It's amazing how far so many of these characters have come. Brian from his troubled past to being the amazing man he is here. Jen coming from a protective mom to someone who loves and accepts Brian completely. The cousins who have wonderful loves ahead of them now.
Mel & Linds seems to have changed very little and apparently the same with Michael. The jury is still out for any hope with those 3. Hopefully we see more of them in future writings. I was kind of expecting a Wasp like smack down of teh girls a la Justin. Perhaps we'll see one at a later date.
The Disney story should be most amusing. Will be intersting to see how Brian is at the magical kingdom. lol. Hopefully he enjoys it as much as the kids will. (Justin is included in the kids there as we all know Justin will be a big kid at Disney. ;) lol )
Loved this!!!! Congrats on the success of another unbeleivably wonderful part to the series. Definitely one of my all time favorites.
Cheers
Elaine

Glad you approve of the way the charactes in the story have developed. As you point out some have had no positive development at all. The only thing missing from this chapter was the beat down Justin is going to give Mel. I kind of want them to go for custody of Gus based on her inability to learn. I can’t wait for Disney mostly because of the absolute certainty there will be no Michael since he was not invited and he has a job he has to go to poor Cynthia...

Hi Sweet Baboo, Been rereading again, and hope Kevin will written in.Like Grandmom Jen is always saying Kevin is just full of love. Brian and Justin, and the rest of the house hold especially Gus has given Kevin a wonderful extended famly who loves and teaches him many things to like Brian teaching him how to kick a scoccer ball, or Gus helping him with his reading and for all the kindness and love they have shown him, Kevin has given back so much love.I missed reading about the child he makes the lessons they have taught him so important and special. Love you, your Sally

SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!! I know...so late in reviewing. workign up a shit storm lately and then there was Thanksgiving here and I'm going away on Friday. HAve been terribly busy!!
gotta say...Delores is and idjit! Seriously?? she's trying to take on Jennifer?! What a fool. Never mind the fact she tried to actually lecture Jenn re: how she raised Justin? Again...what an idjit! Glad Jenn told Craig off. I highly doubt he'll take anything she says to heart. He seems to be one of those who blames everyone else, and he's perfectly good. Hope he heeds her warning though. could get nasty for him if he doesn't.
The meeting went as I had expected and hoped. joe gets to stay with dev and Carl thankfully. He's far better off there. What a major dick his uncle was! WOW! Glad Brian was there. He tends to go straight for the jugular when he needs to.
Well done!! so happy to see this and finally have time toread it and review.
cheers,
Author's Response: I understand the work thing. Been putting on some long hours myself. Delores doesn't realize how Jennifer has grown since she ditched Craig but she found out in a hurry! Joe will be happy with Deb & carl and the uncle will be happy not having to alter his lifestyle. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Just one more chapter to go for this story. “Molly and I love Justin and we love Brian and they love us.”
That just about says it all for this chapter. I guess there will
be no more lunches between Craig and Justin. At least not
without Brian and Jennifer attending. Well – we can forget that.
I find it strange that after all this time Craig is still holding on to
the thinking that Brian corrupted Justin. Jennifer explained that
to him how false that is. I’m sure not for the first time. She also
stated all the things that Brian has done for Justin. Craig already
knows them. Maybe, just maybe, that is the issue for Craig.
Jennifer could have nailed the Craig coffin by added that these
were things Justin’s father should have done, but didn’t. Could it
be that is reason Craig hates Brian and continues to hold on to
that hate. Guilt! Well I think so.
Terrific chapter. One joy in reading this story is the
relationship between the characters.
Thanks for the chapter and for the wonderful story.

Got to hand it to Brian and Jenn. He knew directly who to go to and she handle Craig like a flimsy dishrag. I hope he stays out of their lives otherwise Jenn will go for his jugular.
Now Joe's, is concern just floors me. If he wants a better school for Joe so he can have a "better life", why hadn't he try to convince Joe's mother to send him when he was younger? What money would he get from the mother's estate if Joe wasn't around? He still needs to pay for Joe's schooling so what's his problem other than Joe might be gay which would probably be an embarrassment to him.
Nice of Peter to help Justin.
Author's Response: Craig would be a fool to cross Jennifer. Joe's uncle just seems to be a really sefl centered man who isn't at all interested in his nephew. He may regret that in years to come. The uncle isn't really paying for anything. The money for Joe comes from his mother's estate. Peter really loves his Uncle Justin! Thanks for the reviews, always happy to see your comments!!! Bill

Sweet Baboo, it's lonely without you....keep us in mind , Love your Sally
Author's Response: New chapter coming soon, sorry to make you wait Darling Sally!

Nice chapter. There is so much going on. I had written before
about Craig and here it is from Justin:
“I have a mother and a sister who I love and who love me.
Brian's son, Gus, loves me as a second father. We have
custody of Brian's nephews who are two fine young boys
and in a few months Brian and I will welcome twins.
I have a full and satisfying life without you.”
Yep, Craig has become irrelevant. And as I see it, so has Michel.
Sadly, Michael is an ignorant fool. He is really terrible uneducated as to how this world works. He has no idea about the
different between earning something and being given (or taking it).
I am not sure about Ron. Did he really think he was coming to
rescue his sons? I don’t know.
Again, thanks for the chapter and story. I do enjoy reading
it/them.
DavidR
Author's Response: Craig wants reality to be the way he choses to remember rather than actual facts. I think some people really do that. Unlucky for Craig Justin knows what really happened and who wrecked their relationship and it was Craig who did it! I think you hate when I say this but Miket is clueless, somewhat like Craig he wants things to be the way he wants or remembers rather than the way things really are. I do think Ron thought the boys would be happy to see him. I had a cousin whose father deserted him when he was very young and when they reconnected as adults the father had all sorts of stupid excuses for what he did and professed really missing my cousin. People have great powers fo rationalization and are able to rewrite history to be what they want. I enjoy reading your comments and they often give me food for thought. Thanks for being such a faithful reviewer, I truly appreciate you!!!!!!!!! Bill

I know...I know. So late in reviewing this. ;)
Brian handled Peter and John well, given his obvious discomfort at talking anything close to being anything remotely considered emotional. lol. The boys have nothing to fear. Brian and Justin dealt with
Oh Michael. Not a good start to the first day. Late, petulant, presumptive...the list is (and will become even more so) endless. My jaw pretty much hit the floor when he thought he should have a percentage of the business, wondering why Ted would. I mean holy shitballs! like I said...presumptive. Where the hell does this entitlement come from? then running to "Ma" about his theory about Justin. Honestly. If Roxanne starts talking to Cynthia and the boys about Michael's attitude and behaviour, he's not going to last long. I can see Mel keeping her mouth shut about what he's attempting to accomplish either. She definitely has ther bitch moments, but I think she'll nip any plan Michael has in the bud and set him straight. At least I hope she does. Deb seems to be giving a heads up anyway so it may not even come to that. I get the feeling though that Michael may no listen to her. Either way, B&J are forwarned. Justin is correct in saying that no matter what Brian tries to say or explain to Michael, it will just fall on deaf ears.
Lunch with Craig went as we all assumed. Craig is looking for anywhere else to place blame on the destruction of his and Justin's relationship, and on Justin being gay. Not sure he's ever going to really get it, and until he does, he won't have any relationship at all with his son or his family. Sad really. I don't feel sorry for him. He's done it to himself. It's just sad that a parent can have such demands and restrictions on their child. He's going to grow to to become a very bitter and lonely old mad if he doesn't shape up.
Kind of glad that it took a while for the update. RL has been a shit show for me adn haven't really had time to do much reading let alone reviewing. I've spent the past 2 weeks re reading some fics just because I'd missed so many updates. Not that that's a bad thing, but at least with this one I knew where it left off. ;)
brilliant as usual. It really is one of my favorites.
Hope life is going for you. That RL is giving you any kind of ass kicking.
Cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: Hi Elaine, after how long it took me to post this update I would never say anything abotu how long it took you to revew. Always look forward to your comments!!!!! I think John & Peter are starting to really believe that J&B have their backs and will take care fo any issues that arise. Mikey is an idiot but Cynthia may just whip hm into shape. She is sure not going to take any BS from him. Craig is clueless and wants to rewrite hsitory. Hope RL starts reating you better. You are always so kind with your comments and inflate my ego. Cheers nack to you, Bill

Great chapter- never will understand Michael, but I dislike him anyway- but really - he thinks Brian needs his help to take back part of his own company- really ?- this is not some stranger that Brian has lost his company to, but his partner- Michael will never grow up. Love the way you handled Ron- he's another one who is a jerk- And Craig- what a loser- this chapter should have been labeled The Losers- m (bg) anyway, I totally understand the whole RL thing- I'm good to get a chapter a month out these days. Still loving the story.
Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to review, always great to hear from you. Mikey is Mikey, his idiocy is something we can always count on in an ever changing world. Ron is a fool to think the sons he abandoned would be happy to see him after years of neglect. Craig needs to realize he is the problem in his realtionship with Justin. Happy to know you enjoyed this chapter. Bill

I'm surprised that Michael lasted a day - anywhere else he would have been fired or at the very least hauled into an office and cautioned strongly. Michael being Michael he has some serious ass kicking coming his way and I can't wait...idiot... Hopefully Ron will stay in Alaska and try to build a relationship with the boys via letters or just forget the whole thing and leave them alone - beginning a relationship and not continuing would hurt them more in the long run. Craig just needs to get a clue. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Mikey never disappoints, he always does something stupid. Cynthia is going to have her hands full with him but maybe it will be good for him. Maybe we will see a whole new Michael emerge. Doubtful!!! Ron was at least smart enough to know he had no chance of overturning B&J's custody of the boys. Craig is almost as clueless as Mikey. Justin is so happy with his life but Craig can't see that. Thanks for the review, you know I love to get them!!! Bill

Hallaluha, John and Peter's dad is going back to Alaska alone. Michael on the other hand may be out of a job if he keeps trying to break Justin from being a partner in Kinnitek. So stupid, but enjoyable.
Author's Response: B&J didn't leave Ron much choice. Stay in Pittsburgh and lose everything you own and still not get custody of John & Peter or have a quick trip back to Alaska on a plane. We do enjoy hating our Mikey!!!!! Thanks for your continuing support!!!! Bill

Wow, I was so happy to have the beautiful surprise of a new update today (although I never doubt you would update eventually)! I was really looking forward to that particular chapter and I wasn't disappointed!
A lot of things had been resolve in that chapter, at least for the time being... I liked how the conversation went with Ron. He can be homophobic and thick-headed, but he's not a complete idiot after all. He can perfectly see that continuing with this attitude would lead him nowhere. I'm curious to see if he will write, I'm not sure how much his desire to reconnect with his sons is genuine and profond enough for him to really put the necessary efforts into it.
Regarding Craig, I can't believe that he tried to reconnect with Justin with so little change of attitude! I like the way Justin reacted to the situation. He really had been the "bigger man" about this, keeping his calm while putting Craig in front of his actions and twisted views of reality. And not prolong this more than necessary. That's true what he said about Craig being a lonely and miserable man. I wished this had been enough to make him question himself more, but apparently not... That's really his loss, he will stay alone and not have any chance of knowing his grandchildren. I wonder if it's all over or if we'll see him do another move eventually (but after this, I guess it's unlikely he would have another chance).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the conclusion of this part of the story, that I sense is coming, and to the following ones. I really like this universe that you created.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your really nice comments. I am sorry I made you wait so long for this update. I have started a new job that has some really long hours, so if I was home and had time to wirte I was too tired to do it. Ron does at least understand economics, he really had no options other than to return to Alaska before he lost everything. Craig is a butthead and can't stop blaming Brian for all his troubles. That is exactly the wrong approach to take with Justin who loves Brian so much. Craig better be careful not to get Jennifer angry at him. If she goes into protect her boys mode he may have to leave town and assume a new identity. You are correct about this story winding down. I see two more chapters, 35 seems a good place to stop, before we have a quick spring trip to Disney followed by............. THE TWINS! I like this universe also so I think it will continue for quite a while. Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!! Bill

I don't think it was a mistake. Justin was finally able to speak to his father as an adult and carefully explained to him what truly caused the estrangment was due to Craig not accepting that he had a gay son. You also had Justin tell Craig exactly what he was going to miss out on (all the grandchildren, etc.). That is not wasted time.
Author's Response: I think it was an almost lunch that Craig won't forget anytime soon. Seems like Craig & Mikey live in their own realities. Glad to know you enjoyed this chapter. Always enjoy reading your comments and you know I LOVE reviews. Thanks, Bill

Go uncles you have two boys who are even more happy than they thought possible. Justin in this chapter is a strong mature man loving his man and being the best homosexual he can be. He stood up for the boys against Ron he stood up to Michael and Debbie, then he stands up to Craig. Wow Justin
Author's Response: John & Peter know the uncles are on their side and that Ron abandoned them to Claire. They know how lucky they are. Justin took no prisoners, he told everyone the facts. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for the review!!!!!! Bill

I give Michael a pass. All those many years as Brian’s best
friend has given him an air of entitlement. I am not saying it’s
right, but to me it is understandable. It has got to stop, and I
hope Michael will learn but it is not going to be easy. Can he
actually do the job? It is not a job with much future or that
people think highly of. Can he handle it when Justin shows up,
who we all know is an owner? What about meetings between
Ted and Brian? Michael needs to stay at his reception desk and
do his job. This is not Woodies. I understand the issue and the
difficulty it is for Michael. But…. he just got to do it.
I am now more confused than ever about Ron. Just what does
he want?. If it turns out that he wants money. In effect, sell his
kids. I don’t think either Brain or Justin will give it to him. Now
what? Ofcourse my confusion is that I do believe that if he could
have gotten his kids in the car, he would have taken them to his
home. So it is just not money but labor.
Anyway, thanks for the chapter. As simple as it may appear.
there is so much going on.
DavidR
Author's Response: Mikey has just never moved past high scgool. He thinks his relationship with Brian should remain static and that never happens in life. I have a friend I've known since second grade but our friendship has chnaged many times over the years. You have been peeking into my mind with some of your questions. I agree it will be difficult for Mikey to understand that work is work and not the same as getting together at Woody's or Babylon. Ron is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He owes years of back support and has no money to hire a lawyer to challenge the custody agreement. The final nail in his custody coffin is that John & Peter want to stay where they are. Thanks for the commenst I always look forward to your reviews!!! Bill

Hi, my friend - I am SO behind in catching up on so many things, but I needed to stop and at least comment on your latest chapter. I always eagerly anticipate each one.
I'm glad that Bill was observant and was able to warn Justin about the boys' father. Really liked how the administration at the school stood up to Townsend, too, and those two ladies with the purses - hysterical! I was wondering if Justin might flinch or have some reaction to the baseball bat, but I'm glad he didn't pay it any mind.
Michael...sigh...he just doesn't get it. But I think he will find that he won't gain any ground with his constant 'but I'm his best friend!' approach, especially with Cynthia - ha! Love her character!
As always, I adore all the details in your story, and how this one, big family - related or not - rally together to stand up and support each other. I think that is wonderful, just like this story.
Always looking forward to the next part, Bill. Thank you. :) ~Kim
Author's Response: Hi Kim, glad you enjoyed this latest chapter in my very long saga. I did enjoy writing about the battling Moms taking on Ron and his cousin. I think Mikey is going to have a tough time working with Cynthia. She is all set to deak with him. I agree that the "family" look out for each other. Thanks for your kind comments!!! Bill

Ron is a loser and a homophobe.
I guess everyone was worried for nothing. Brian's reaction to the meeting with Ron turned out ok. Justin knows exactly how to handle him. I was chuckling when the moms took Ron and his cousin down.
Author's Response: I agree with you about Ron. I think Brian just wants to be rid of Ron and make sure he stops harrassing people Brian cares about. If Ron has any brain cells working he needs to just head back to Alaska but his brainpower is questionable. Thanks for the review, I LOVE to get them!!!!! Bill

My Sweet Baboo, Thought it was so funny that three women could take down Ron and his moron cousin while they were jumping out of bushes to grab John and Peter. I agree with Brian it would have been great if someone had taped it, it also would show a lawyer or the courts that Ron was unfit as a parent-no contact, no support and now he wants to be their father, its too late for that, he should have thought of that ten or twelve years ago. Still loving this story, I hope Joe gets to stay with Deb and Carl the boy has been thru to much and needs the love of a family. Love ya Sally
Author's Response: Darling Sally, it always make me happy to see your review!!!! Ron and his cousin are pretty clueless. Ron should have known that the Washington Avademy is not going to be a good place for him to approach the boys. I don't think they need any help showing what a poor parent Ron has been. It also helps that he has not money to hire a decent attorney. I don't think there is mch chance of John & Peter moving to Alaska. I'm glad you are still enjoying this long saga!!! I imagine Joe's uncle will be happy to have someone take care of his nephew. As always I remain, your sweet Baboo!!!

The mothers were awesome, great call with the purse. I once hit someone with my purse , they needed stitches. Michael needs to be a strike system. One strike every time he tries to see Brian, three strikes he loses pay ,three times without pay he loses his job.

Thank you for updating, this was a really great chapter! I love when you include a lot of dialogues in your story like this. I think you have a real talent for it and it give so much life to the characters and dynamism to the story.
I especially liked the lesson about love given by Jennifer. I like that she kept calm and compassionate while also making her point. Sometimes, Melanie can be so competitive, especially when she feels she's loosing control, that it took over her judgment. It will be interesting to see her going to counseling, she really had a difficult year so that's not surprising to see her unresolved issues come out like this.
That's good that you mentionned Ron Townsend, I was wondering about that. I don't feel either that this storyline is quite finished... And I can't wait for this lunch between Craig and Justin. Craig is hovering since a while and I'm curious about his motives, but a little apprehensive (Sincere or not? Reconciliation or trouble?).
Can't wait for your next update!
Author's Response: Happy to know you enjoyed this chapter. I really appreciate your comments about dialogue in the story. I sometimes feel that the conversations I include go on too long, so I was happy it hear that you enjoy them. That is the great thing about reviews, you get to find out what works for the readers. I really enjoyed writing this chapter. I like to walk and often work out my storylines during my walks. That is how I came up with the Melanie/Jennifer conversation. I do the back & forth dialogue in my head, try some variations and when I get home write down the one I like best. That is probably TMI but you brought it up. I do have some loose ends that I need to wrap up in this story before I end it. I was hoping to end it at 30 chapters but looks more like 35 now.
Next will be a quick story about the Disney Trip that B&J gave for Christmas and then BABY TIME! That is why I have to tie up the loose ends because we are going to leap forward in time by several months. Thanks so much for your review, I love to hear from the readers!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Another great chapter. I'm glad Melanie is considering counseling and I hope she gets help. Meanwhile I love that Jen defends Brian and keeps telling everyone how great they are. The one upmanship regarding best father conversation as fun to read and both of them have something to bring to fatherhood. I know they will both make great fathers.
Author's Response: Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the latest chapter. I don't think Mel realized she wasn't dealing well with all the issues of the last year. Jennifer is always looking out for her boys. I agree I think B&J will be great fathers for their twins. I am looking forward to the next chapter of "Fatherhood". Fantastic chapter. We learn that Melanie is getting a clue and that Jennifer needed counseling. Then you have Craig wanting lunch, hopefully Justin won't need counseling afterwards. There's a lot of one-on-one time for Brian and Justin, but then there always were but there was too much other stuff going on to devote any time to showing it. Gus and the twins will have so much love from Jennifer, John and Peter that I see just as much alone time in their future.
Author's Response: Hello my friend, always happy to see your comments!!! So many writers are grateful for all your supportive reviews!!!!!! You are right Mel is starting to get a clue that she is not always right. Wasn't a shock with all that Jennifer had going on in her life that she might need some help dealing with it all. Author's Response: Thank you for letting me know that you love my story. When I wrote the first chapter of "Sickness & Health, Good Times & Bad" I never dreamed this saga would continue this long. The reason that it has continued is REVIEWS!! Bill

Thanks as always. I can't wait till Michael has his first day working under Cynthia. Do you think he will make the whole day?
Author's Response: I agree with you I think Day One of Miket at Kinnetik will be fun. We'll have to wait and see how thinks evolve. Thanks for all your support, you know I love reviews!!!! Bill

I'm kind of hoping that Melanie has had time to think about her behavior and is ready to make some changes. Grand mom Jen will definitely set her on the right track.
Delightful chapter. I love reading how much fun the Kinney Taylor household is.
Author's Response: I think Mel is having a hard time having to accept help. She always wants to be independent and in charge but sometimes you just have to accept help. I think Ted got her on the right track but Gandmom Jen will reinfroce the message for sure!! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the latest update. I love reviews!!!!!!!!! Bill

It appears that the new year is starting off good, for the Kinney/Taylor family. Love Ted's talk with Melanie. I was surprised that she actually took in what he was saying. Just maybe she's learned something. Put Gus first. I fear that Jennifer will let Melanie have it if she starts something or hurts Gus in any way. Guess I'll have to wait for the next chapter to see.
Author's Response: Hello my friend, always make me happy to see your review. It was a good start to the new year. I think Mel really heard what Ted had to say, she better hope so or Grandmom Jen might hurt her. We'll have to wait and see if the police are called. Thanks for all your support, I appreciate all your reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Shorter than usual today. Work work work.
Ted was brilliant here! He said everything than needed to be said in a way that Mel would/could accept it, but still strongly enough to really get the point across. yes she's been through a lot in the past year or so, but to behave the way she has been, considering everything the boys have done for them is unbelievable. she's lucky they have Gus, cause I do think that they would've cut ties period. Then where would they be. Pride cometh before teh fall is completely appropriate for Mel in this case. Hopefully she really heard what he said. she's not one for tears, but I'm hoping these weren't of teh crocodile variety.
As always a wonderful chapter. My heart always is on the verge of bursting when I read about all the joys, love etc with the boys and their family. Extended and otherwise.
I'm kinda looking forward to when Michael goes to work at Kinnetik. hehehehe. He's going to get a very rude awakening I think. Will it work out I wonder? Will Cynthia be the one to make him grow the hell up?!?
thank you!! this brought a smile to my morning. Wonderful update! Hope all is goingwell with you.
Cheers
Elaine
Author's Response: Happy to see your review!!!!!! I stayed up late last night to get this chapter ready it post so it would be there for you on Monday. Sorry that blasted work got in the way. I think Mel needed to hear some words of wisdon from Ted. I do think it is hard for strong independent people to accept help. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. I have so enjoyed reading your stories. I reread Sickness and Health, Good Times and Bad and then moved on to this sequal. Great storytelling. It provides a warm, comfy feeling even with some of the angst. I truly hope you will continue telling this tale. Multi chaptered AU has always been my favorite!

great update- Melanie and Ben both have work to do in their relationships. I hope you find new topics since the holidays are over in this universe.
Michael better realize that Kinnetik is not just a place to hang out.
Author's Response: I agree Mel & Ben do need to work on having better relationships. Mel also need some help in dealing with everything going on in her life. Oh I have new topics in mind. Great chapter, lots of details. I can't believe Ben still wants to stay with Mickey. Brain is going to be so sorry.
Author's Response: Thanks, I was afraid manybe there was too much detail on what everyone was wearing. Once I started describing the outifits I didn't think it was right to leave anyone out. Ben loves Michael and we all know love is blind! Or how about there's a lid for every pot? I think Cynthia will make sure that Mikey knows that Brian's office is a no Mikey zone! It will be an eye openng experience for Michael and my be really good for him. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time at their various New Years celebration except for Melanie. I do hope Blakes little talk made an impression on her. It looks like Ben is going to be supportive of Mike, just hope Mike does his job and doesn't try to use it as an excuse to get close to Brian. I'm a tad worried about Justin. Is everything all right with him?
Author's Response: Melanie might have enjoyed herself as long as she stayed away from Blake & Justin. I feel sure Mikey will attempt to make his job about hanging with Brian all day long but will be in for a huge shock when Cynthia makes sure he understands what his job actually is. Your Justin comment is fascinating, I have to go back and read the chapter and see where you got that feeling. Always a pleasure to read your comments. You have been juch a tremnedous support from the beginning of this long saga. Bill

So happy to see the return of this story. Glad to catch a glimpse of Kevin, one of my favorite characters, and good to see what is happening with Joe. Heck, I missed all the characters. Go Justin! Melanie bit off more than she can chew. I wouldn't mind a bit if every one of the things Justin listed came true. I found Brian's period of reflection kind of touching. Can't believe that Michael may be going to work at Kinnetik. If this doesn't show Deb how much Brian cares, I don't know what could. I predict trouble. Will look forward to the continuing story whenever you get a chance to update. Thank you!
Author's Response: Sorry it took so long for this update but happy you are still enjoying the story. I love Kevin so I'm glad he is one of your favorites. He has really been embraced by B&J and their family. Melanie is sure having some issues these days and I think we'll see more about that in upcoming chapter. If you can't believe Miker is going to work at Kinnetic just imagine how Cynthia feels about it! Thanks for taking time to comment, I love to hear from the readers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Fantastic! The New Years is starting off with a bang. Glad that Justin finally told off Melanie. If she doesn't change her ways she's going to learn what it would be like without Brian to bail out her ass. Perhaps Justin should tell Brian what he threatened? Now about Michael. I can't see him as a receptionist, not with his manners. Maybe a janitor? Michael isn't going to be anymore appreciative of Brian's help than Melanie. Both scenerio's have amazing possibilities. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Your chapters are well worth the wait.
Author's Response: Always happy to see your review!!!!!!!!!! Glad that you see possibilities in the Mikey & Mel storylines - not too popular with other reviewers. Justin always complains about Brian being over-protective but he inheriyed his protection skills from Grandmom Jen. Melanie had both Taylors annoyed with her so she better watch her back. Thanks, as always, for all your support, you are truly a Blue Ribbon reviewer!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Michael at Kinnetic sorry my only thought is you are out of your mind. Brian and Justin were wealthy but now it's over. I hope Cynthia fires him by the end of day one. All I got since anything else I say will probably get deleted by the police state running Midnight Whispers. At least it did not take you a YEAR to update.
Author's Response: Hello my friend, you are one of my most loyal reviewers and I have appreciated our give & take with reviews more than I can say, So I hope you take this response in the manner it is intended. Since I am an Admin here on MW, I am one of the "police" you are unhappy with. Your comment on Sammy's story was mean. I know you are a direct person and so am I but there are all kinds of ways to say things and imo you went from direct to mean with that comment. No one gets paid for writing any of these stories, except with reviews. I truly understand being frustarted when stories get left unfinished but no one does that to annoy readers. Sometimes the creative juices just dry up, sometimes life deals people more than they can cope with. The story you reviewed is indeed "complete" but for whatever reason, I don't know the reason, the sequel was left unfinished.
I am very sorry if my comments cause you to stop reviewing, I would truly hate to not hear from you again. I think of us as web site friends and I believe "friends" should be honest with one another. Ugh. Brian hiring Micky is going to trigger his delusions being "number one" in Brian's life again, even ahead of Justin and his three sons. I can see him pulling the "best friend" card at work and Brian is going to spend his workdays fixing Micky's messes. Please say he will end up getting his ass fired.
Perhaps hitting bottom (homless) would have scared him into getting a job. He had experience at the Big Q. Now that he's rescued once again, there's no reason for him to change and grow up; he'll be the same entitled jerk as always. Sigh. I love your fic, but it's very frustrating to read when it comes to Mikey.
Also, Mel is being out of character from the previous fic. In the first installment, she was reasonable and even respected Brian. Sorry, but it just seems like you changed her because now that Lindsay got help, you need a new villian.
It's your fic and I'm not telling you to change though. I always look forward to seeing a new chapter pop up.
Author's Response: I think this job at Kinnetic could be a turning pont for Mikey. Having Cynthia as a boss could be an eye opener for him. Of course it could turn out that Cynthia fires him day one!!! I did sort of pass of Mikey's Big Q experience but he didn't leave there under the best circumstances so there would be no going back there and, of course, authors like to play fast & loose with facts that don't suit ther stories. Melanie is frustrated that she made poor decisions and beause of those decisions she has lost full control of her life. None of us like to admit we f-ed up. I suspect she will realize she is using Brian as a villain to feel better about herself. I hope you continue to enjoy the story and I really appreciate hearing the views of my readers - sometimes the readers influence the way the story flows but not always. Thank you so much for your review and please always let me know when you think I am heading in the wrong direction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

You have to love a bull dog Justin protecting his own.

I check every day to see if you have added a new chapter. This one was so full of good stuff. Justin is awesome when passed off. Brian must be nuts to hire Michael. This will end badly .
Author's Response: Sorry I made you wait so long for this chapter. I love writing pittbull Justin. Brian is a softie when people he cares about are in trouble and tears are his Kryptonite. My Sweet Baboo, Sorry I'm late reviewing, but I had problems with my laptop.Instead of showing secuirty numbers there was just a little x there. I finally was able to contact Bob and he emailed me a solution. I appreciate his kindness. Now for Ron Townsend, please hurry and write the chapter that gets rid of him and his idiot cousin! After reading about them all I want is a hot shower. No doubt his moron cousin found out how wealthy Brian is and being a con artist decided after ten years he loved his sons-baloney I was surprised and pleased that Joan would not support or pay for Ron's lawyer. It must of been hard to make that call to Brian and eating crow. She told him the truth about Ron and she knew the boys were doing well in school and loved their uncles and for him to stop Ron and even wished them all a happy new year, must have been hard on the old girl, but she did the right thing. Love You, Sally
Author's Response:
My darling Sally, I knew we were having an issue with anonymous reviews. I think it had to do with our increased security. We were having an issue with SPAM reviews. Some people have too much time on their hands! I believe you are a member of the web site. If you signed in you wouldn't have to do the security numbers, if you forgot your password, you can request a reset.
Really happy to see your review, I always look forward to hearing from you. Ron is pretty despicable! He wanted his sons for what they could do to help him, not what he could do FOR them. Even Joan could see Ron was a worse choice as guardian. She is happy that Alice & Charlie are "good Christians". Not exactly a resounding endorsement of B&J but a huge concession on Joan's part. I have traveling on the east coast and visiting friends but hope to have next chapter done soon. As always Love from your sweet Baboo.

It's so heartwarming to see the love John and Peter have for their uncles and how Brian and Justin return that love. And, wow, how good to see that Justin and Brian have become well-respected within the community.
Joanie is almost 'enlightened' in this chapter, lol, at least as much as she's ever likely to become. Hilarious line to conclue this chapter!
As usual, I'm already looking forward to the next installment. :)
~Karynn
Author's Response: I think after all that has happened to them John & Peter appreciate the life they have with B&J. Even Joanie knows Rob is not a good choice to raise John & Peter. It was a huge endorsement of B&J but she relized Ron would be worse. Thanks for the reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Ron just seems to see things differently. He really thought
that just because he is their father they would go with him. You
know, if Claire didn’t do what she did and continue to treat the
boys as badly that she did, I wonder if they would see things
differently. What if Brian and Justin didn’t take over. Ron doesn’t
seem to be cruel or abusing. As I said, he is just different.
This situation brings to mind what happened many chapters
ago. John was playing soccer and there in the stands was Justin,
Brain and the family there to watch him play. It was written beautifully, as maybe for the first time, he was not alone. He was
part of a family, if not biologically but affectionately.
To use the expression, these people ‘were there for him’. How
much was that worth to John. Everything! So of course John
wants no part of Ron. John has people around who care for him,
who love him. He has it all
DavidR
Author's Response: I agree that Ron has a unique way of looking at things. John & Peter did not lick out with their parents. I think they appreciate B&J all the more because of their bad expieriences with Claire. I think they realize a father who abandons them for 10 years is not a winnner. Ron looks at how the boys could help him, nothing about how he could make up to them for all the years he was gone. John & Peter have been embraced by the entire household and family - B&J, Grandmom Jen, Alice & Charlie as well as friends. Glad you enjoyed this chapter!!!! Thanks for the review!!!! Bill

I'm finally carving out a little time to catch up on the Taylor Kinney family. Love the way Gus curls up with his daddies and feels so protected for the night. <3
Justin firmly puts Lindsay in her place in regard to the mural, and she reaps the benefits of acting rationally when she sees Brian. I can't help worrying a bit that she's going to backslide...
Something tells me that Joe will end up a member of the extended family. Can't wait to see if I'm right. :) Your portrayal of Joe's uncle is very realistic - not a bad man but also not prepared to give up his lifestyle for his nephew.
Ugh. Ron. Just ugh. I don't think he'll get anywhere in his efforts to pry his sons away from Brian and Justin, not after disappearing for years without a word.
I'll have to set aside some time later today to read the next chapter. Thanks so much for continuing this fascinating saga.
~Karynn
Author's Response: Gus loves the time he spends with B&J, so different from life with the Moms. Justin usually has no trouble standing up for what he thinks is right. There may be a spot for Joe within the extended family. Thanks for saying you thought my portrayal of Joe's Uncle was realistic!!! Ron is not a very smart or nice person. He is out of his league with B&J. Thanks for the review, you know I love them!!!!!!!! Bill

I was pretty shocked that Joan stood up for Brian and Justin like she did. I was imagineing them joining forces to make life hell for the boys. thankfully she had that time at the house to see how happy the boys are. she may not agree with their "way of life" as she puts it, but she's learning to put that part aside and see the hear of the matter. What is really best for the boys.
Not sure what ron had in mind to do, especially if teh police hadn't shown up. Good thing Peter called and they came immediately. I wouldn't put it passed him to try and take the boys. His intentions with them are horrendous! He basically wants them for slave labour! Well...let's hope he doesn't try anything that will hurt the boys. Brian and Justin are going to keep a close eye on them now I'm sure. I don't trust Ron as far as I can throw him. He and his cousin I'm sure will stop at nothing. their concerns has nothing to do with being in teh same house as "fags" as they put it. It's that he want control of the boys. I'm curious as to what Annabell will find out with the investigator.
Deb of course takes control of joe. Has him placed in her house dispite his arguments. A bit of give and take there obviously. Poor guy...Astro man wallpaper adn sheets etc. LOL. I'd fight that too.
Happy Monday! thank you for this update! Was so happy to see it.
Cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: Well now I am sure it is Monday!!! Hi Elaine, I think even Joan could see how dismal a guardian Rn would make for John & Peter. She didn't exactly give a unqualified endorsement to B&J just they were better than Ron. Ron is clueless enough to think his sons would be happy to see him after ten years. He supposed they would be happy to go with him. Ron and his cousin are lucky they didn't really anger Alice. I'm sure there was hot sauce in her car. I don't think Anabel or her investigator will find anything good about Ron and his life in Alaska. He is a super loser! Deb & Joe could be interesting. We'll have to see what his Uncle thinks about that arrangement. Carl still has to be consulted as well. Deb has kept Joe a secret from her resident policeman since Joe was a runaway.
Thanks for the review, I always enjoy your comments!!!!!!!!! Bill

Love that Joan is supporting Brian and Justin having custody of the boys. Ron Townsend had better pack up and go back to Alaska.
Author's Response: I think Joan is more vetoing Ron rather than supporting B&J. She has enough sense to see what a disaster Ron would be as a father. I keep thinking about a line from the Paul Simon song "Fifty ways to leave your lover" but I change the words to "get on the bus Ron". Joan being on Brian's side is a complete surprise, to me and to the boys. It's about time she did the right thing. Debbie taking Joe in is no surprise either. I hope Joe will be happy there.
Dee Dee
Author's Response: He Dee Dee, not sure Joan is so much on Brian's side as she is opposed to Ron Townsend. She knows that being with Ron would not be good for John & Peter. We have to see how Joe likes living with Debbie and what his uncle thnks about that arrangement. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. OMG OMG OMG another chapter and really soon after the last one I may need a few minutes for my heart to stop racing from the excitement of seeing this. Ok deep breath I knew Ron would get nowherewith those boys though I admit to being shocked Joan was unwilling to assist him, but I get it she was more unwilling to bankroll him then anything. Peter is such a smart kid calling 911 the moment he felt unsafe although I think he also knew or remembered in the back of his head Alice knew a lot of the Sheriff's so the odds were they were going to help Alice and him and John over the man claiming to be his father. I love that John and Peter both said they were happy where they were had no interest in going anywhere and that they had changed their name to Kinney that was the best part.
Joe: oh is he going to love living with Deb yikes and that Uncle may have to do more than boarding school.
The murals I was 100% positive Lindsay would try to do more than Justin assigned I am betting she still might we need some angst there and I have no idea why I want it but I do.
I was so happy to find this chapter and not to beg but I need a baby update and shouldn't Justin be designing their nursery. I can't wait for more and another this month would be amazing ok done begging for now...
Author's Response: Let's not forget that it was a longer than usual chapter too!!!! Even Joan can recognize what a scumbag Ron is. It doesn't seem like they ever got along even when he & Claire were married. Peter probably did remember Alice reading the riot act to the deputies that came to the house in reponse to Joan's phone call. Joe and Debbie and we can't forget Carl ,that would be an interesting household for sure. We'll have to see what happens with the Uncle. The murals aren't finished yet.....
I agree we do need a baby update. I get myself off on tangents and it is good to remind me to get back to important stuff. I hope to have another chapter posted this month but I can't promise anything. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for the review!!!!!! Bill

It's a surprise have Joan on the boys side but at least she has her grandson's best interest at heart. (There's hope for her yet - maybe!!!!) The boys and all the family are strong, they will weather this disturbance as well. I am curious what Ron is up to - 10 years is a long time to ignore his sons and then come and get them just because they are living with 2 gays. Got to be more going on. Looking forward to more as always.

Today I have been able to catch up on the last two chapters.
The interaction between B & J, and the Nephews and Gus was fun
to read. There is this affection and joy between the five of them
that that is so wonderfully written. I don’t think there is a happier
boy than Gus. Hanging out with his older male cousins, who treat
him with affection and respect, makes him so very happy. Add
Brian and Justin, and Gus has it all.
So what happened?. Towsend happened. After all this time, I
don’t know why he shows up. I wonder what he wants. I have no
idea, though the only thing I could guess is money. We will see.
Thanks for the last two chapter and of course, thanks for the
story.

Glad you enjoyed this chapter, all really positive comments this time. I am very flattered. I agree that Gus is a happy little guy spending his time in Washington Township. Hi, Bill! Finally had a chance to sit down and write a review. As always, such an engaging, wonderfully detailed chapter. Favorite things in this one were the romantic, sexy moments with B & J, and Justin with Gus. I love him calling him Papa, BTW!
That last part was a big, angsty surprise! But now I can't wait to see how it pans out. Surely a judge wouldn't hand these boys back, but he IS their biological father, which can be hard to beat.
Looking forward to your next chapter, my friend! Thank you for this story, and for all the help you give us. XOXO ~Kim

Hi My Sweet Baboo! I've missed you-lots. Well good old Ron shows up, too bad he's such a loser. He doesn't ask about the boys, just that they BELONG to him. Hopefully he doesn't have the money for a lawyer. The boys are doing so good and love their family I think he's probably more intrested in Brian and Justin's bank balance than in John or Peter, so much for the scum of the earth. About Joe, he didn't exactly strike oil in the dad department either. Maybe Debbie will step in and find another lost boy--the boy needs love and caring and as crazy as she is Joe trusts her and he needs family to love him. This was a chapter worth waiting for. Love you, Sally
Author's Response: My Darling Sally, sorry to have been away from you for so long! Ron has had contact with John & Peter for 10 years. I don't think they will be anxious to see him. He traveled across the country by bus, I don't think Ron has much moiney to spend on a lawyer. I suspect you may be xorrect abouy bank balances! Porr Joe, his is kind of alone in the world. Just the type to appeal to Debbie, we'll have to see what happens there. Happy to know you enjoyed the chapter after waiting for so long!!! Always makes me smile to see your review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remain your sweet & loving Baboo.

Wonderful update. You are so worth the wait. Not really happy about the little cliff hanger surprise from Ron. No way is Brian and Justin giving up those boys. Now poor Joe, who is going to step up and take care of him. Loved the way Justin stood up to Lindsay. Big smile on my face.
Dee Dee
Author's Response: Thanks for being so nice about the long wait for an update. Happy to know this chapter put a smile on your face, I don't think B&J would give up the boys without a fight. So not in favor of boarding school for Joe? We'll have to see what happens there. Justin usually has no problem standing up for what he believes is the right thing to do. Thanks for taking time to review, love hearing from the readers!!!!!!!!! Bill

nice twist at the end, but Brian is not giving up John and Peter- he has legal custody so hopefully there won't be any issues. I was kind of hoping that maybe Debbie would step up and offer to have Joe live with her. Still enjoying the story and thank you for writing and sharing your universe.
Author's Response: Thanks, glad you enjoyed Ron's appearence. I don't think Ron has uch of a chance of getting custody but who knows what mischief he can create. Happy to kow you are still enjoying the story. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Seeing a new chapter just made my week!! And it did not disappoint. I love how close Brian and Justin are with Gus and the nephews. I can't wait for the twins to be added to the mix. It was nice to know what's happening with Joe, and what's going on between John and Patrice. I was wondering about her the past couple of chapters. Lindsay seems to finally be catching on to when she's overstepped her boundaries, at least one can only hope. And then there's the newest twist...Evil Ron #2. I look forward to what you've got up your sleeve for the next chapter. Great update!!
Author's Response: Glad I made your week better and you enjoyed the latest installment of this long saga of mine. Gus really loves spending time with his cousins, Papa & Daddy and the feelings are mutual. I think now that Peter is less dependent on his big brother, John enjoys spending time with Gus. Peter likes to teach people and Gus likes getting math lessons form his cousin. I wasn't ready for romance so John & Patrice get a timeout. It sis nice to control my little universe. If Lindsay forgets about boundaries again Justin will be there to remind her! I suspect Ron is going to make himself a big pain in the butt. Thanks for all the kind comments and for the review. I LOVE reviews!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Can't believe I missed this update. It's really good, what with a couple of trees falling down. lol. I'm glad that Justin was able to get Lindsay to see reason about the murals. So Joe has an uncle, but Deb isn't too happy that the guy isn't willing to drop everything and be there for Joe. Then you have John and Peter's sperm donor show up demanding that his sons go to Alaska to be with him. What is it in there for him? Talking to a lawyer is going to be pricey.
Author's Response: Don't worry my friend, I just posted this last night. Always happy to hear from Midnight Whispers' number one reviewer. I had trees fall in my yard in the middle of the night so that came from real life. What do we think Deb is going to do about this mildly concerned uncle, stay tuned. Ron is kind of an evil sperm donor who is going up against the master sperm sharer, Brian. I don't think it will be a fair fight. Ron needs to avoid anything that is pricey. He needs to have the bus fare to get back to Alaska. Thank, as always for your review. I never feel a chapter is complete until I read your review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Oh boy, things were going too good. Now this bozo comes to stir up trouble. I can't wait to see Brian and Justin take action.
Author's Response: Ron has no idea what he is up against. I don't think he will need to worry about bus fare for three. Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Happy Hump Day! Celebrating the mid week slump with an update! YAY! Happy dance. Really glad that RL seems to be easing up for you a bit. Unselfishly so that you can finally sit and breathe, relx and not stress out with day to day shit. I mean it's always there, but if it's eased a bit for you, that's always a good thing. Selfishly......more updates!!!!!!!!! LOL! ;) I swear, with this story as well as a few others, it's a bit of an addiction! Mind you, it's one that I'm really NOT willing to get help for. :)
John and Justin's interactions while making a meal was nice to see. John is definitely showing his comfort level with B&J but being so open with them. Talking to Justin about his "girlfriend" issues, and Justin just listening just proves how far John has come. How trusting he is, and how Justin understands the need to just listen.
Also love that John and Peter allow gus to help, and even encourage it. It lets Gus feel like he's a big boy, helping his cousins, it will inevitably give him a sense of responsibility that he can use more and more as he gets older. Brian and Justin may be very generous, but they don't let any of those 3 get away with behaving like spoiled brats. They expect them to be giving and encourage a generous heart. They're teaching them that nothing should just be given, but earned. The fact that all 3 boys seem to enjoy most of their responsibilites, shows that they will grow up to be fantastic young men and not take things for granted.
Oh poor gus getting so scared in the middle of teh night like that. He knows that he's secure and safe with his dads. Have to admit, would've scared the crap out of me as well! Thankfully not too much damage done.
Hopefully Zelda doesn'tdiscourage the friendship between Gus and Dylan. she seemed ok with Lindsey adn Mel's relationship, but seemed awkward with regards to Justin and Brian's. Perhaps it's just initial not understanding it idea of it, adn will realized there's nothing to worry about. Many people think that 2 women are OK, but 2 men are a threat or deviants or soemthing.
Interesting background re: joe. Probably all stuff he's unaware of. I get that his uncle isn't prepared to be a father figure to Joe, that he wants to keep his normal routine with his career. It would be a huge change, and something that many wouldn't be willling to do either. At least he was makign an attept to find Joe, to let him know about what's going on, that he has money and doesn't have to live on the streets. That he's OK with being an uncle, but that's about it. At least he doesn't seem to be trying to pilfer Joe's money. curious to see what's going to happen with Joe now. Boarding school or will B&J find themselves with an addition to their household? Or perhasp Deb will. she's certainly taken a shine to him.
Seeing a spark of the old Lindsey attitude. Not sure if it's a bad thing though. It's just a matter of finding the balance between being docile and being as wel...psychotic as she was. She's seeing the strides she's making with everyone, particularly Brian. I guess it's a matter of time before we see if it's permanant. Hopefully she doesn't revert back.
Now...as for this Ron Townsend guy. He hsa no idea what he's in for as far as a legal battle is concerned. He's moaning about having no money, how he's barely making ends meet, but wants the boys. I guess he's thinking that B&J will provide for them? Pfffffft. How did he find out about them living with them though? Has Claire been in touch? Joan? Is it just the fear of the boys "becoming gay" that has him coming to get them or is there a different motivation?
Again, thrilled for the update, but now I really want to know what's going to happen now! lol. Sorry for the novel length review. In a chatty mood I guess. That's what you get for staying away for so long! lol
Cheers,
Elaine
Author's Response: Elaine, my friend, you get the award for the longest review. I know you really paid attention to this chapter!! Glad you liked the John & Justin cooking interlude. You got just what I was trying to portray, thank you. I actually got woken up a couple years ago by trees falling into my yard. I didn't have any Daddy or Papa to run to. The top of the trees touched the house but h=no damage was done. I think Zelda just didn't think about the situation and was embarressed. Hmmmm Joe living with Deb & Carl???????????? I think it is good that Lindsay is getting back to normal. She has Justin to keep her in line. Ron has no money, Brian & Justin have lots of money, might be 100% paternal concern that has Ron revisitng the steel city. Thank you for all your support I think I enjoyed your review as much as you enjoyed this update. You know I love to hear from the readers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers, Bill

I'm still waiting unpatiently for every new chapter!!
And now this new turn...
For me that is still one of the best stories here.
Thank you!
Author's Response: Sorry to make you wait so long! Thanks for the kind comments, I am really flattered. I am glad you are still enjoying this long saga. Thanks for taking time to review, I LOVE to get reviews!!!!! Bill

Great chapter! I actually cheered aloud when Justin stood his ground for the kids' wants against Lindsay. I guess she has now learned that Sunshine can become a Storm Cloud real quick when he wants to.
As for that punkass Ron Townsend (I swear what is it with the damn Rons in this fic... first Peterson and his foolery and now enter Fool von Fool Townsend)... I can understand what had made him so attractive to Joan and Claire. After all, like recognizes like and sadly that statement definitely extends to bigotry. I wonder if Joan is the 'cousin' that wrote to him. It sounds just like something her backbiting ass would do. I find it strange that although he claims to not have much money that he would want to take on two growing teens while he already has a wife and two other mouths to feed. Hmmm something is definitely rotten in the milk, especially with the timing of it all. Is it that he expects Brian to support him and his growing family since I'm fairly certain he did it for Claire in a roundabout way when she was with the Ass from Alaska? He knows that Brian wouldn't see his nephews starve no matter his feelings about their mother and offspring. Yeah... something is just not adding up about his motives and I don't buy that 'I don't want you turning them into faggots' excuse either. Whereas those may be his definitive opinions, there has to be more to it than that. Well I look forward to reading about his ass being kicked back to Moose Fuck in the coming chapters!
HAPPY WRITING and HUGS
Author's Response: Hi NW, Lindsay can't help being selfish. I agree with Justin the kids should have what they want. He worked with them to be sure the murals met their wishes.
It is kind of funny that Ron T showed up all of the sudden. There is a song that says "money makes the world go around". I wonder if money make Ron Towsend go around the country. He may have bitten off more than he knows with both Brian & Justin working against him. At the very least Ron owes a shitload of back child support. He doesn't seem to be especially bright. Thanks for taking time to review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs back to you, Bill

thnak you!!
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed this chapter. I think there will be some fighting and if Debbie is involved we can be sure there will be screaming. Thanks for the review, I LOVE to get them!!! Bill

Wow!!!! A new chapter and it's a really good one. Where to start first I guess at the house with the boys. John and Justin cooking and talking was sweet and allows Justin to find out what is going on with John without really trying to pull it out of him which no teenager likes. John and Peter including Gus both in games and meal setup makes him feel like a big boy.
Lindsay will never learn Justin is not the pushover everyone except Brian knows he isn't. Murals can change or be painted over Justin knows this Lindsay is learning.
Who is going to take in Joe although boarding school might be fine as long as his Uncle visits and calls and emails. If he is just going to stick him school and walk away then there must be a better solution.
Ron Townsend I think you might be safer if you hope back on that bus now because the wrath of Brian and Justin will be too much for you to ever handle. Or he and Joan can form a club oh wait that's where your going ooooooooh now I get it. Joan was just biding her time waiting for John and Peter's daddy to show up. Sneaky you have had his hiding for a while and then you took a 2 month break just to spring this on us.
As a bonus for being patient (hiding head. never patient here) can we get another chapter or 2 this month because you know I need to see how fast Ron runs to Joan.
Author's Response: Sorry to make you wait so long for an update but happy to know you enjoyed this chapter. John & Peter are very good to Gus who loves spending time with his "big boy" cousins. Justin had no problem letting Lindsay know who was in charge of the murals. He is determined to give Gus & JR what they want. Joe's Uncle doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in spending time with his nephew. He wants to do his "duty" but doesn't want to give up his career. We'll have to see how things work out for Joe. On the surface it doesn't seem like Joan & Ron have much in common except they both want to "rescue" John & Peter from the preverted clutches of Brian & Justin. Who knows what those two will get up to.
My "2 month break" involved bad cold, new job, selling my house and moving. I wasn't on a tropical island sipping fruity cocktails. Now that RL has settled down I expect to update more frequently. Thanks for being so loyal about reviewing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Omg Brian is not going to let those boys go easily
Author's Response: That is an understatment. I don't see it happening. Thanks for the review!!! Bill
