Linsday and Melanie were probably meant for each other (or at least deserved each other), although the way they committed themselves to each other (communicated with one another/cheated on each other) leaves one in perpetual doubt. Melanie clearly felt threatened by Brian, but that was largely because Lindsay constantly stirred that pot. She told Brian to grow up in one breath and in the next wanted him to stay her Peter Pan. Yikes! Scary role models as parents.
As Justin notes, a bit ironic that the ones in couple's counseling judge Brian's fitness to be a parent. And he's the one who helps them financially too!

Liked this little story. I think Lindsay always played on Mel's insecurituies to help her control Brian. You always manage in capture so much in so few words!!!!!! Bill
Author's Response: I so agree, what ever issues Mel had about Lindsay's feelings for Brian, was their problem to resolve. Because there's no way Brian was in love with Lindsay. So what are you going to have Sunshine do to correct this? You wrote exactly what was going on.
Author's Response: What he should do is try and gets his parental right restored, similarly to Michael's right with JR... That would only be fair, after all he is the biological father and Mel should apply for third party adoption... Later Darling ~ Kathleen
