Hello my friend!

I took a break from writing my story about Todd and finally read your.

Very sad for the whole story of Todd, it really is not right here.

I found a great idea to make it the waiter ended with Brian during his only meeting.

I like to see the characters in pre-series of stories where Brian and Justin can relate to other people without having the focus centered only on the non-relationship of the two.

A great story that brings a light to a character that was just another shadow in the background of Babylon.

A big hug, Fatima.

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it, Fatima! It was definitely interesting to write and I am proud of how it turned out. Can't wait until your Todd fic is posted as well. I also enjoy pre-series stories. There don't seem to be too many of them in this fandom and the ones that do tend to be focused on their childhood. It was nice to go just a couple of years before 1x01. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Hugs to you too, Anne

Now that I consider it, Todd is one of the only regulars at Babylon that B/J interacts with in a non-sexual way.  Maybe he was the only one.  HHMMMMMM.... seems like there's lots of story potential there.  I hope lots of writers take up your challenge as I would read all of them.

BTW, You gave Todd such a sad backstory. As said before,  Todd is not "fine". In my head I have always considered him as a young man having the time of his life, much like Brian seems to think Justin has to have. Hmm....Seems like more story potential for someone else.

Great job and keep them coming (especially It's a Mystery as I love that fic,)

Author's Response:

He is. I know that he was just there as an inside joke more or less but I always found it odd that the would never take him back. I'm guessing Brian had to have fucked him once or twice, considering how often the two of them frequent the back room.

I decided to play off of the idea that appearences can be deceiving. In this story, Todd used sex to distract himself from his severe problems. Sort of like Michael Fassbender does in Shame, which if you haven't seen you should. Now that story is depressing.

I think Brian seeing Todd as the ideal representation of having the time of your life would be a very interesting fic. Hopefully a writer comes up with a story like that. Hey, maybe you could take on the challenge. :)

Thank you for reading and reviewing! I have part of Chapter 8 for It's All A Mystery written so that should be up later this week.

Todd as the subject of a one shot is brilliant.  I never considered that he would have a sad backstory.  I didn't see the twist coming where he was the waiter that brian fucked. Very creative and nicely done.  I look forward to any stories that are posted for the new challenge community.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoy the idea! Despite only being in less than 20 seconds of the entire series, he is such a fun character. Thus, I had to go and change that by making him absolutely tragic. ;) I enjoyed writing that twist as well. I always wondered about Brian's only date. Considering how the man feels about dating, I feel like he had to have had some feelings for the man. However, keeping his reputation became more important. What better way to remind him of how his community sees him than having a man who gives Brian's promiscuity a run for his money wait on him and his date for their dinner?

I hope some more writers take this challenge on. It would make my day. Spread the word so you can see more Todd fics. :)

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

hi Anne! I really enjoyed this one. It's different from everything I've read, that's really what I love about your work. Thank you 😊😊

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoyed this one, Alois! I was wondering if people would even be interested since it revolves around such a minor character but I'm happy with the response so far. Feel free to take part in the Todd Challenge and join Plot or Claim! :)

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Amazing look at Todd.  At least he has someone at home that cares.  Like how you connected Todd to Brian's first date, that was interesting.  Somehow I think if Brian knew about Todd's problems he'd find a way to help asshole that he is.

Author's Response:

I am so glad I had the character of Margot in the story. I think it would be too dark if he didn't have her. He sees her as the woman he would fall in love with if he were straight so I'm glad that he has her if he doesn't have a devoted partner. I was excited to do that connection and I'm glad that people seem to remember those couple of lines in season one where Brian talks about it. I think Todd is an extremely troubled young man in this fic. He feels like he deserves to be used and degraded during sex when he is feeling particularly down. I think if Brian knew the extent of Todd's sexual abuse and how his parents treat him, he would probably have more sympathy and maybe genuinely ask how he is, rather than a formality.

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Very interesting accounting of events Annie Boo. it makes you wonder if Todd could have been the lucky waiter to make Brian end his one and only date.

Author's Response:

Thank you, JP! After I finished the series, I looked back to that small moment in season 1 where he tells Michael he's only been on one date and wondered about it. Due to Brian's aversion to dating, it makes me contemplate how he felt about that man. Was it a college fling? A man he met at a club? I feel that it is possible he started to fall for that person to a certain extent but wanted to be Brian Fucking Kinney more so he pushed the date off the Kinney cliff by fucking the waiter. It could have gone down in a completely different way but I feel that Brian would have had to like the man enough to even consider going out with him on a date to a restaurant. I thought Todd made a good choice for the waiter because Brian sees Todd as a safe bet. Todd likes to fuck around possibly more than he does so Brian wouldn't have to worry about his repeat rule with him. In this story, I feel like Todd does develop a little bit of a crush on him though. But who wouldn't?

Thank you for reading and revewing! It means a lot!

Poor Todd. He isn't fine!! * sigh *

Author's Response:

He really isn't, is he? Someone needs to give this man a hug and tell him that it's fine not to be fine. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
