I sometimes judge my thoughts on a story by how much I cry.  This was a real tear jerker, but with my happy ending so I consider them happy tears.  Keep writing.  I see that you have several WIPS.  Hope you have not given up writing and that you are ok.

Brilliant! Love Brian's neighbors and how wonderful the conversations were, so true. Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and loved Evie! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

This is a wonderful story filled with love, tenderness and Brian's beautiful soul. Your story lines are unique and refreshing.

My condolences on losing Julie who must have brought you much happiness during her years with you.  I also love my pets and know the hole they leave when their time is up.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the story and Brian's characterization. It means a lot.

It was very hard losing Julie. She was such a loving, odd, and wonderful dog. I grew up with her and didn't have any siblings so losing her after 16 years was quite difficult. But I am relieved that she died in her sleep at home. Thank you for your condolences and thank you for reading and reviewing. :)

Hello my friend!

I finally read this beautiful story you wrote.

You  shows a facet of Brian that few people can reach: their extreme generosity. It was touching to see Brian's interaction with Evie. She was really able to see through all layers of protection he uses. Evie managed to find the mythical heart of Brian Kinney.

It was sad death of Evie, but she had a full life and knew how to take advantage of it. She and Brian really had much in common and this makes their friendship as consistent as you wrote.

I am glad that Abby found a new home. Certainly it will continue to be much loved.

A big hug, dear!

Fatima.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked this story, Fatima! It was enjoyable to write, even though it took me a while to get around to writing the last chapter. Evie did have a full life and I think Brian respected and loved her spunk. I'm glad Brian and Justin are taking in Abby as well. She really is a great dog. So great that I could never give her to them in real life but they can have her here. ;)

Hugs to you as well! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

That was fantastic! Love the banner.

Author's Response:

Aw, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Glad you liked my banner as well. I do have to give thanks to my dog Abby for letting me use her picture ;)

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

As sad as Evie's death is, there were so many amusing parts to this chapter.  My favorite being Carl and the back room.  Thought I'd die laughing.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoyed it and could find the humorous parts to this chapter. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing! It means a lot.

Terribly sorry to hear about Julie. I know what losing a pet feels like. Evie was a character alright. Brian's obituary for her was spot on. And she nailed him too. Yes sell the lofts. Have Justin move back but buy an apartment in NY for when he needs to be there. Have them go live at Britin, Abby needs the room a d they can have the wedding there. Great job.

Author's Response:

Aw, thank you. It's awfully hard, especially since she was my first dog and I grew up with her. She died in her sleep though and it wasn't a surprise so I am relieved that she died before we were forced to have her euthanized. I'm glad you liked Evie and Brian's obituary. Brian knows how to sell a product as well as people so I imagine he put his all into that task. I like your idea. :) Although, I am always partial to Britin since it is located in West Virginia, which is my home state. The real Abby is happy in WV so I'm sure the fictional Abby would be as well, espcially if she had a country manor. ;)

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Sorry for your lost, i know how hard it is to loose a friend n companion i lost my dog last year but i still miss him even now.

Author's Response:

Aw thank you so much. Julie was the first dog I ever had (I got her when I was 8.) Despite her being 16, dying in her sleep, and it not being a surprise, it was still very hard for me. I'm sorry about your dog as well. They really are our best friends.

Very fitting ending! Who would have thought that Evie and Brian were the same person...just in different bodies and generations apart. One thing can be said though, Evie sure did know how to celebrate life even after she was gone.

Great job Annie Boo ;)

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it, JP! Evie and Brian had much more in common than meets the eye, that's for sure. Evie knew exactly how she wanted her death mourned and it wasn't by crying over a tombstone. Brian pulled all the strings, went over the top, and did just as Evie would have in her prime. Thank you for reading and reviewing! :)

That was a wonderful story I loved it especially as it shows a slightly softer side of Brian.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you loved it! It was nice to give Brian an older friend but also someone who really got him. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Awww! Tears and grins for this chapter.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoyed the last chapter of this story! It took a while for me to sit down and write but I'm glad it came out the way it did. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: sophie'smom (Anonymous) · Date: March 18, 2015 09:04 PM · On: Chapter 2

What a wonderful chapter .Evie lived her life to the fullest. Brian and Justin will take good care of Abby and be better for it. Even with Evie's death I loved this chapter.

Author's Response:

Yes, she did at that! She probably has Brian beat when it comes to "no apologies, no regrets." I think she definitely has made her mark on Brian and Justin. They'll miss her and Abby will miss her too, but they'll have each other. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: Toto_too514 (Anonymous) · Date: March 16, 2015 02:06 AM · On: Chapter 2

Somehow I just knew Evie would not be with us until the end of this Fic, although I was a bit surprsied by the time jump at the start of this installment.

Of course Brian will keep Abby, she's blonde and blie-eyed, LOL! (And really cute too!)

Author's Response:

She lived a long life and fufilled life for the most part. It's sad but she died painlessly and at peace with herself.

The real Abby is very cute. She is such a sweet dog and loves everyone. I couldn't give her to Brian Kinney in real life, but I suppose he can have her in this fictional world lolol. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Aww, this was sad.  I love Abby and am so glad Brian is going to keep her.

How could he say no to those blue eyes? Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I'm sad about Evie ,but happy Justin is back.

Author's Response:

It is definitely a bittersweet homecoming, that's for sure. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

A wonderful blending of canon, fanfic canon, and your own special story line.

Thank you for having Brian keep Abby.

Author's Response:

Thank you for your kind words :)

I figured Brian would have felt close to Abby after Evie's health started to decline and he started helping out with her. He wouldn't want her to go back to a shelter.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the story! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I enjoyed this very much and am looking forward to more. Though it did have a 'double-edge sword' effect - unfortunately I just received an email about an online friend's death who was 82. We met in an unusual way too - and our friendship developed through a love of John Barrowman. While reading your story I could relate to the feelings of loss the boys felt for Evie. - my friend Anne, like Evie is much older than me, although her life was certainly more ordinary than a Burlesque dancer - she was passionate, generous and loving.

It was nice to see Brian taking care of an old lady - like Justin, Evie saw through Brian's façade - which leaves me wondering what surprises she still has in store for him.

Author's Response:

I am so sorry about your friend. It's hard losing someone no matter how old they are. This was an odd chapter for me to write, since I have my grandmother (87) and great-grandmother who is 95 today (and unfortunately in the hospital right now.) She is technically my grandmother's stepmother and they are only seven and a half years apart but she has been her mother figure since my grandmother was 13. They are both constants in my life but I'm aware that there's always a chance something could happen because that's life when you get older unfortunately. But it is very hard to see them go through hard times and it is very hard to let the older and wiser people in your life go. Neither of them have had quite as an extraordinary life as Evie, but they made their impact in their own way, with my grandmother being an Autism activist back when it wasn't reallly all that known about and my great-grandmother marrying a man 24 years her senior when she was 20 and going onto take care his four daughters when he went to serve in WWII. I feel that, no matter what older person you talk to, they are going to have great life stories because they are a part of a time that you have only heard about. :)

The next chapter should be up soon. Brian will find out what Evie has left to the people she affected in her life as well as how she wants the end of her life celebrated. Knowing Evie, it will probably be a bit wild lol.

Thank you for the great review and for reading this story!

Great chapter, Brian is actually getting the pet he never had and learn so,e emotional lessons in the processe

Author's Response:

Yep! It isn't the most ideal way to get a pet by any means but I figured that Brian would rather take her in than traumatize her by putting her in a shelter again. He's grown to care about her. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: March 14, 2015 06:51 AM · On: Chapter 2

This was so bitter sweet.  I'm glad Justin is home, but sad that Evie died.  I'm hoping that Brian keeps Abby and would love to know what Evie's wishes were.

Author's Response:

There is one more chapter. I felt like this was a good place to end chapter two. In Chapter three we will get some Abby and Brian bonding time as well as Evie's wishes. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I love your characterisation of Evie Abbott, and how her past life rivals Brian's own hedonistic existence. You managed to convey a lot of her personality through the dialogue, which was also very humorous. This is a very interesting angle- and I must say, unlike the mainstream, you do tend to pick niche topics nad ideas to write about rather than the usual sickly-sweet odes to Brian/Justin. I think there isn't enough stuff about Brian HIMSELF as a man in this fandom. His whole life doesn't revolve around Justin. As shown here, we get to see his life as the proverbial neighbou, and his interactions with other people around him. It's very interesting and even if this story doesn't wind up being majorly dramatic plot-wise, it still gives an accurate view of Brian Kinney the man. Good work.

Author's Response:

Thank you for your kind words. I like the idea of Brian being deceived by his neighbor's appearance and thinking that she was just tolerant of what went on upstairs. I am excited to write a little more of this even though it will be short. And while the sickly sweet stories are nice and many talented writers do a nice job with putting them out, it is hard for me to write a whole fic that revolves around that genre. The fact that you think my ideas are original means so much to me. Thank you for reading and reviewing! :)

This is a very interesting premise, I hope you update this soon. would love to read more of this.

Author's Response:

It was interesting to write. I will be updating Intersect, Saint Joan, and Feed & Extract first but I will update this as soon as possible.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Certainly someone Brian can relate to in many aspects of his life.
I like to see Ms. Abbott and Justin together.
Nice chapter.

Author's Response:

She has gotten around in both the business world and when it comes to more personal matters lol.

I would love to get a Justin and Mrs. Abbott scene in. I feel like Mrs. Abbott has lived there longer than Brian has so Justin is bound to have talked to her and check up on her. But once he hears that she's not just some sweet old lady, he will probably want to ask her a lot of questions, knowing Justin. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Hi, Anne! Unique story line. I like it.;)  And this seems very much IC for Brian, too.;)  I'll be looking forward to reading more. And good luck with all the WIPs - you're very brave - ha!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

P.S.  You have this story marked 'complete,' but if I understood you correctly it's a WIP? If so, you might want to change that, since a lot of readers prefer to wait until a story is finished. Just a suggestion.;)

Author's Response:

Thanks, Kim! I know, right. I don't know what I have gotten myself into. This will only be three or four chapters at most so it isn't too daunting, the same with Saint Joan which is five at most. So once I get those out of the way there will only be three WIPs. Unless I give in and start on the two more in my head. But I am restraining myself from doing that because both of those ideas need planning out anyway.

Oh! I didn't realized I marked it as complete! Maybe because the story was originally supposed to start post-series but I wanted background info on Evie first but just didn't think about it. Thanks for letting me know! I will change it ASAP. Thanks for reading and reviewing and hugs back! Anne

I really liked this! I always find it heart warming and comforting, when someone older and wiser sees past Brian's tough guy act, doesn't judge or condescend but treats him as an equal and with respect - subtly perhaps teaching him something in the process!

You are fast becoming my new favourite author! Your writing is so fluent and void of typos or grammatical mistakes. Not to mention the awesome plots you come up with! Keep up the good work and please update something soon! :)

Author's Response:

I liked the idea of Evie. The person who lived downstairs could have been anyone really but I thought it would be fun to write that person as surprisingly accepting and understanding to Brian's lifestyle.

And that is so nice of you to say! It means a lot to someone who used to be so afraid to show or read their work to someone, whether that be a class or a friend. Maybe it is the partial anonymity of it that lets me put out my work. My next thing up will be Intersect. I had a couple of days off due to my work schedule and it was very cold here so I didn't go outside much. I have no excuse for not having chapter 17 up except for the fact that I wanted to write things that were mostly happier (except for one fic. It was quite dark so I can't post that here :P) But that will be next. No more one-shots or shorter stories are planned until I finish my shorter WIPS (this one, Saint Joan, and It's All A Mystery. F&E is going to be pretty long and Intersect is going to be longer plus a sequel.) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Hey, I love this.  Someone who's had more sex than Brian is hard to believe, but you make her seem real.  Looking forward to reading the rest of your story.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you love it! Well, Evie doesn't have a preference when it comes to gender plus she has a good fifty years on Brian. So she has a leg up lol. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: CFC (Anonymous) · Date: February 13, 2015 05:45 AM · On: Chapter 1

Because really, Brian didn't invent promiscuity. As a child of the 70's, he probably never heard of Woodstock until he was an adult.

I like this story, thank you for posting.

Author's Response:

Very true! Although he did feel like he reinvented it until he heard her story. Little old Evie Abbott's past as a sex goddess was just a bit of a shock to him. ;)
