I'm glad Brian could spend some time with Eric and Lily! And that he also invited Justin. Of course, Emmett might be right that Justin is dangerous territory even if neither men want to harm the other. But they do care about each other a lot, so, it's safe to say safe doesn't apply for them. Now, what is happening to Eric? I can't wait to find out :) oh, and I loved the references to ghosts and witchcrafts in this chapter! Geat job, Anne :)

Finally a new chapter :)

Will something happen to Eric and Lily? Can't wait to find out. Hope you'll have time to update soon.

Met a member of my family who said she was a white witch, told me her brother was one also. She goes about the country counteracting evil spells. It was strange. Whatever rolls your boat.

Wow.  That visit to the restruant in New Orleans is coming back to haunt them.  I think it's wonderful that Brian and Justin spend time together.  Poor Brian was missing his family so much.

Author's Response:

Writing the next chapter now. :) Probably won't have it up until the middle of next week but I am still writing. Thank you so much for reading and enjoying this story!

Author's Response:

I LOVE that you have supposedly read 41 chapters of the worst fanfic you have ever read! It must have pulled you in to get you this passionate over it. I am truly touched. Let's exchange work! I would love to read something you have put a lot of heart and effort in. I even promise to read any warning notes you may have (assuming you write something "controversial" enough to warrant them.) I'm guessing you didn't read my many warning notes though. ;) Great constructive criticism! Hope to hear more thoughts from you soon! <3

I'm so happy that Justin decided to get through this wonderful step, a baby! <3 He need some happiness. He is my favorite character. I can't wait to see how is going to be.

I have to say to you, Annie, It breaks my heart every time i read a new chapter, and see, him so far way from Brian. I'm always hope that something going to change...

I know you said it will happen, in the sequel. But in my imagination i can imagine anything, something like an affair, Eric with someone... Nathan maybe... is stupid i know. Sorry.  I just can't wait to see them together.

*.* Thank you for writing *.*

Author's Response:

I am happy you are happy about the baby! He is definitely close to making it happen and I do think that, despite the less than perfect factors involved, he is excited and fully capable of being a father. He will do great.

Oh, I have been told by many people it breaks their hearts. I do hope you find some solace in their friendship. I think that friendship can be a beautiful thing, especially between two people who understand each other so deeply.

Something will happen. I can't say, but I have it all meticulously planned out. Part of me can't wait but possibly a bigger part is dreading it.

Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I'm just waiting for the outburst and a "academy award winner" fight (or fights?) between Brian and Justin. Like I know they want to stay friends and therefore don't want to ruin any possibility of that...And that they truly are in love with other people...

But the tension between them is always haunting whether alone or surronded by people( so kudos to you). No matter if it was as intense as the begining when they were getting used to seeing each other again, or it seems the unavoidable gazes that pass between when their eyes lock. I feel like there's always regret there and a secret longing, but also an understanding.

I really love how you portray the canon characters as well as your original characters.

Omg my heart breaks for Nathan. It reminds me a little of like britin 2.0 but darker and sadder. I hope Nathan can finally meet that someone else if its not Justin.

You have be so conflicted about Brian...omg Brian Studferd Kinney. Though I really love though change and how you still keep the essense of him...

Oh Eric...I love him...he's simply perfect...(ok maybe a little to emotional...even more so than Justin so it's kinda weird) *shrugs*

So my britin heart breaks...cuz god aren't they just beautiful (Brian, Eric, Lily,...newbabygirl). Family man Brian...it suits him "who woulda thunk'"

Last but not least...Justin Taylor. I really love the way you've written him, so true to his character. I couldn't get past the first chapter of most britin fics out there because they always depict him as a device to achieve something out of the great Brian Kinney...so it was always soo off putting.

So I'm so glad to have him written like this because I always loved that he went NY to be come a "big fucking success" all on his own...

Reading through Justin's POV is definately my all time favorite. I just love that Sunshine and I'm so happy that he's gonna have a baby like he always wanted (blonde, blue eyed cutie). Though I do love the way you switch it up.

Yeah so I'm REALLY HAPPY to have found your story!

Author's Response:

Oh, there will be an outburst. Maybe more than one. It's unavoidable, isn't it? With trying to become friends but never really discussing the silence that occurred between them for so long and all of the factors that led to them breaking up...It needs to be out in the open. And that will be hard to write but also satisfying. And you are right, I think they are partially avoiding this conversation because they know emotions will rise. And they are in love with other people. They don't want to fuck everything up.

You are spot on when you say there is a secret longing and understanding. Although Brian has no regrets about Eric, he is in love with him and they have a beautiful daughter and life, he regrets how things happened with Justin. And Justin, who is in love with Nathan despite the breakup, regrets that as well. They were engaged at one point. They were each other's first loves. There will always be feelings there. It doesn't necessarily mean they are each other's most important loves but it doesn't mean that they aren't either, if that makes sense. I don't believe in ranking those who have left such a deep mark on your heart. And, in this case. Eric and Nathan have left pretty huge marks on Brian and Justin. And Brian and Justin left them on each other. Love is very interesting in that regard.

I am happy you like the portrayals of the canon and original characters. I am trying to round out the original characters as much as possible in order for the readers to empathize. I have come to love them almost as dearly as the gang we know and love. But I am biased. ;)

Brian was hard to write at first but I think I finally got the knack at around chapter 11. He still has his personality but his priorities have changed as well as a few of his interests.

Eric is a really wonderful person. I think he is very kind and generous but also very honest and a little sassy. That might make him seem a bit emotional.

I love writing Justin in this. As much as I love writing Brian and his family, I love that I can write this successful but conflicted and sometimes lost man who is SO brave and trying to make a life for himself that he will love. He is such a strong character and, I agree, sometimes he is used as a plot device a little too often. This isn't necessarily bad, but there are so many great storylines that can be written for Justin.

I try to stay pretty even in the POV switches. They are usually the same character per chapter but there are a few where I will switch it up within the chapter. Most of them are told from Brian and Justin's point of view but there have been/will be chapters told from Nathan and Eric's points of views as well as other characters. Emmett and Gus play bigger parts in the sequel so you will hear more from them. The kids will play just as large of a major player role in the third story so you will regularly get their POVs as well as they grow up. It will take place over a long period of time so POV switches are needed ;)

I am so glad you found my story too! If you hadn't, I wouldn't have received such a wonderful review! I apologize for it taking so long to answer. I have been working two jobs. But I hope to get the next chapter up soon. I look forward to reading what you think! <3

I'm soooo angry that my longgggg comment was deleted !!!!

I loved its ...i love Justin and It's so human to want a kid who look like you ( blue eyes and blond mama).

It's very real Justin and Nathan's meeting too....they love each other so much and it was so painful to read that i would have preferred that brian was the one to bring  justin home; i can't wait to have a kiss between them ....but i know the time is not mature for them yet :Brian and Justin need more alone and adult time so something can really happen.

I sense some angst in the very next future for Brian ....i don't know how you will break up eric and brian....i don't like them together but they really love each other so much so a big big problem need to arise to break their so strong relationship....i can't imagine what you are going to do!!!I can't wait....I hope there will be a new guy for Eric, i love your original characters and i'm sure i could like Eric more without Brian...but that seems too obvious and too simple.I'm so curious!!!

BTW I'm so happy that you have an alternative finale so Nathan can be with Justin....i know i want justin with brian and with nathan....maybe we need a thresome ghghghgh so i can beeee soooooo sooo happy!!!!(i'm joking i'm into couple, more than two noo no no).

Author's Response:

Ah, yeah. I am upset that all the reviews were deleted. This chapter had a pretty decent reception and to see all of those go away made me sad. But life goes on lolol.

It can be human to want a kid that looks like you. I also think Justin sees this as the shortest route (due to being so financially stable) and might not want questions about the baby's mother (or for people to assume his partner is the father, since he might not have one, at least in his mind.) He wants to be able to go out and for people to accept that this is his baby, no question about it. I think he would be very open to adoption or raising a child who wasn't biologically his own, but would want a partner to be a part of that.

As for Brian helping him home, I am sure he would have offered if he had been invited to the party. ;) But he doesn't know Cormick. They should meet sometime haha.

There may be some angst, I can't deny that. Especially if the main ending of the series will have B/J as the final pairing. Guess you will have to read to find out.

I do plan on having the alternative ending. I am not sure when I will post it. Probably when the second story is finished or close to finished. But part of me wishes I could leave it at that since it would be so much shorter LOL.

Aw, I wouldn't mind writing a foursome, to be honest. They can all live together and be happy. Maybe an alternate alternate ending? ;)

Thanks for reading and reviewing, sweetc! It means a lot!

So today I started out with my lazy sunday video streaming (forgetting for a bit about reading) then did some packing for an upcoming trip tomorrow followed by a quick visit to the market. Then picked up my current couch surfer a sweet girl from Germany who brought my a bunch of duty free booze...
We then attended a wonderful horse show and came home a bit tired but still had a lot to plan for tomorrow. At that time I told her that I had some important reading to do, and thank all that turns this world I did. It's near midnight but I certainly feel the day has been perfect. A nice buzz from a lovely post hypo-thermia (warm) beer in my system... oh yeah this chapter was such a win. Loved this day. Thank you.

ps.
I wrote that egocentric review on purpose... because the chapter is amazing Annie, No words should be added.... but let me do so regardless. I'm nearly more in love with Nathan than Brian. Way way way to go you wonderful writer.
!! Him help Justin home, and all... No I was right the first time. No words to add. Just love.

Author's Response:

I always love hearing about your day, Edda! It sounds like that day was a good one. I feel honored you ended it with reading a chapter of this story.

And wow, I am even more honored you love Nathan so much. That truly means a lot that you think so much of him as a character and enjoy his storyline. :) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! It means a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! :) Glad you enjoyed this chapter. I hope to have the next one up this week.

I don't think you should feel like you are writing filler. I have read many books that switch POV every chapter and it leads to a good story. Good structure and a lllot of the times good cliffhangers.

I am sorry Justin and Nathan seem to have a less stable relationship here. Nathan seems a bit erratic but I think that's his pilot light burning a bit bright. Plus he's an artist. Besides he seems to genuinely adore Justin. That's important.

I think Justin is experiencing a "grass is greener" moment. We all get those esp. when faced with the past.

Author's Response:

YES. I am so glad you got this and expressed it in such a way that I couldn't top. Granted, out of all of the characters, I think Nathan's is the one who develops the most. I think this is because I grew to like him more and more. His backstory wasn't complete when I wrote this chapter but, after working out the rough points, I really am proud of his characterization. And yes, he really adores Justin. And Justin feels the same. The relationship is just different from the B/J relationship. Justin is more of the protector and mentor here and that might not be something he is fully used to. Thank you for understanding my character before I did (at least when I was writing this point of the story.) And thank you for reading and reviewing. I hope you continue it and I would love to hear you thoughts. :)

Justin wants his own little bubba, yesssssssss. I love that idea so much. He'd make such a wonderful daddy.

I laughed so hard at the Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Garfield comment. And seriously, Justin's doctor is AMAZING. I want to meet this guy lol.

As always, I LOVED this. I am still not team Jathen, but I admit I like him more and more as time goes on :)

Author's Response:

He really does. He is taking the steps to make sure that happens. :)

Max is just blessed with beautiful and slightly awkward looks. But he has to put on a suit for people to be able to tell!

Justin's doctor is very blunt and to the point. He has no time for meeting with people if he just has to tell them they have decent sperm. It wastes too much time on busy days.

I am glad you are liking Nathan more. :) He really is a good guy who loves Justin immensely. Thank you for reading and reviewing, Sally! It means a lot!

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: March 28, 2016 12:08 AM · On: Chapter 41: Norfolk and Rivington

So Justin's decided he wants his own little one.  At least when Nathan found out he didn't run in the other direction.  Maybe there's hope for those two yet.

Author's Response:

He did finally decide. :) And you never know! Nathan could come around. If not in this main storyline, then definitely in the alternate ending. But regardless, Nathan will always be very close to Justin and his child. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reposting my review :)

Here are two sentences I love in this chapter

“I’ll recommend a good psychiatrist when I have the time,” Dr. Abdullah jokes. At least Justin thinks he’s joking."

I love Justin's doctor! I want to meet this guy ;)

If Benedict Cumberbatch had a baby with Andrew Garfield, you would be the child in question,” Justin decides as he studies him. He can’t believe he didn’t see it before.

I love these two actors, so Max must be gorgeous :)

Anyway, as I already said, Justin and Nathan makes so much sense in this chapter. Their whole scene and the return to Justin's apartment feels real. I love this couple so much, they are my favorite and Nathan has really grown on me. You do such an excellent job with your OC.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response:

You can meet him! I will bring him with me if we ever meet!

I love those two actors too. Max may come off as nerdy at first but the guy cleans up well. ;)

I'm glad you love Justin and Nathan so much. They have grown on me a lot and it is actually upsetting to write them as broken up. Thank you so much for being open to my OCs and taking the time to read this, Alois. It truly means a lot. :)

Lily is a hoot and a half! I can't imagine what Brian & Eric will be up against when she hits her teens!

I was so into the sotry of the new baby, I had forgotten that Cynthia was actually the egg donor. I am happy she will be more involved with the new baby, and maybe with Lily too.

Big, BIG moment for Brian to be able to admit to himself that this had always been the life he had dreamt of, and to realize how it might have been different with Justin if he had only allowed himself to admit it back then.

Author's Response:

She really will be a handful! An amusing one but still a handful LOL.

She is the egg donor! And I think she is glad to be involved as well. She didn't expect how much she would love Lily and I think part of her regrets not insisting on a larger role. With her role changing with the second baby, it might change a little with Lily as well.

It might have taken Brian a long time, but he really grew up wanting a loving family. He found it with his friends but now he has one to himself. He's a very happy man. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I read about gus finding out about the new sibling but he is not been informed about the sex.I don't know anne...i'm putting myself in gus' eyes and i would have loved to know at that age the sex of the new baby and probably i would have been so jealous during my teen age about her/ him.But i'm female so maybe a boy is more laid back about this sort of things:)and he seem so focused on the other sex or the sex in general....he should  make brian pride  ghgh he is a stud!

I can't wait to know how justin will take the news and....i hope to have a justin baby in the show too!!!They probably would spend less money opening a school with so many children on the way ghghgh.

Oh you have a name!I can't wait!!! I love the name MIA :) But i don't know so many english names so.....:) ps:we need a baby boy from justin so he will marry brian 's little girl *-* ( are we going to know who is the biological father??)

Author's Response:

I'm sorry I didn't include the scene. If it makes you feel better, I am sure he probably texted with him and talked with him the next morning. Gus obviously knows but just wasn't there for it. High school boys are often busy with friends and extracurriculars (like soccer.) I will write a scene with Gus in it to put in the one-shots. :)

Yes, lots of babies on the way. I feel like I have given several hints for Justin going in that direction, so you just might get your wish. ;)

You will eventually know who the biological father of the new baby girl is, but not until after she's born. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

You are treating a sensitive topic  right here....the surrogancy and what that does mean.In my country we are struggling to legislate about. Here it's not legal yet. I want to give an hug to Cynthia...usually the couple don't know the egg donor, like in person...it's better the way Brian and Eric did too beacuse even if Cynthia don't raise them they know ( lily and the baby) where they come from who they come from...usually even the adopted child have this curiosity to know where they come from.So like this it 's easier. I don't think though that Cynthia will be like Brian with Gus....Brian in your story raised Gus more thn Cynthia did until now so she is more like an auntie than a mother unless they all plan to have her more involved in the life of lily and baby....

BTW where is gus?How did he find out about the baby? And justin?I think Gus deserve some sort of preview! And i'm sort of happy that the baby is  a girl:i always go for a girl ghgh but by gus' pov he will be the only male child of his father  so i think he is gonna be happier with that ( i'm trying to be in his shoes ghgh). Will you accept our suggestions for the name???

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetc!

I'm glad you are still interested in the story! Although I think that all paths, whether it be anonymous donors, known donors, or adoption, can lead to success and to a happy family, I do think it will be nice for Lily and the baby to know who their mother is. Lily doesn't know as of yet but she will find out in the second story.

Gus is in Toronto, probably making heart eyes over his girlfriend. ;) Gus will also be in mentioned in a couple of chapters, if not featured. The chapter before this one was from Justin's pov and the next one will be from his pov too. But, idk if you read it, but Brian and Eric did tell Gus when they went up to Toronto for Mel's birthday.

Lol, on Gus being happy about being the only male. You might be right! I feel like he didn't care if it was a boy or a girl too much, since he is a few weeks shy of turning 15. I'll accept suggestions. Can't promise I will use them since I have them planned but if I am suggested one that is really good then I might consider it. Thank you for reading and reviewing, sweetc! And for listening to my bitching. ;)

Reviewer: SunshineSally (Signed) · Date: March 01, 2016 04:25 AM · On: Chapter 40: 31st and 5th

So many emotions in this chapter. I was so excited for Eric to be home and for Brian to finally get some again, I worry about the man if he goes too long ;) Seriously, though, it was so nice to see him and Eric back together, with Lily too obviously.

THEY'RE HAVING ANOTHER GIRL! That makes me so happy, sorry Eric ;) But Lily wanted a sister and she got her wish - I mean, she knew, she can see into the future after all.

Lily and Duncan trying to get the cupcakes from the top of the refrigerator had me in stitches, especially Brian then trying to scare them into falling over, the little shit ;)

Emmett and Drew planning to adopt from Africa gave me ALL KINDS OF FEELS, and it totally made me fall in love with Drew a little bit more. He's a big friendly giant, Emmett is a lucky boy.

Brian's sword fighting comment about Eric was HILARIOUS and so Brian - totally inappropriate. And Lily is so sweet and innocent it goes right over her head aw.

I loved this update soooo much <3

Author's Response:

Glad you enjoyed it so much, Sally! Brian really needed to get some, there's no doubt. He isn't meant to be celibate for even a day, let alone two weeks. ;)

And yes, ANOTHER GIRL! Eric was secretly pulling for a little boy but I'm sure he's thrilled, nonetheless. And Lily...well, she knew. Psychic powers do come in handy after all. Or maybe she willed it to be a girl, since that's what she wanted. Either way, she was correct and deserves six cupcakes, even though she was only allowed to have one.

And speaking of, those tots are resourceful, aren't they? But Brian put them in their place. ;)

I'm happy that Emmett and Drew's plan really worked for you. :) And I love that you seem to be falling a bit for Drew. He has become much more secure in the last several years, and that's mainly because of Emmett. So they are both very lucky men. :)

Brian's innuendos. He isn't one to censor himself. But he'd probably think that WAS censoring himself. Lily didn't understand, after all.

Glad you loved it, Sally! The reviews were lacking and that was discouraging but your review did put a smile on my face. :)

Awwww..... All good :)
Saved my day which started out awfully. I forgot my nicotine chewing gum at home when I went to work. My brain was on low power all day... and spending all it's diminished capacity on chanting: Do not be a bitch... Do NOT tell that idiot she's an idiot....

Author's Response:

Aw, glad it helped you Edda! I look forward to hearing what you think about the remaining chapters of the story (and the sequels if I don't burn out.) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I really enjoyed this chapter Anne! I especially like how comfortable Brian is with his life. And the part with Emmett talking about children in Africa was heartwarming. No matter what, I love the universe you have created and the interactions between your characters. Looking forward to more and if I can help with anything else, I will be happy to ;)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Alois! You can thank Sally for Emmett's passion over what's going on in Africa. I knew about it but just the basic facts. She gave me a lot of insight on the matter. I'm glad you love this universe. It's hard to keep it going sometimes, especially when feedback is lacking like it seems to be this chapter, but I will try to keep it going for as long as possible. I will let you know if I need any help! You let me know as well. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

So much going on in this chapter.  It was good to have Eric home even if only for the weekend.  And what a lot you crammed into that weekend, though I'm sure that Brian would have preferred to spend it all in bed.  I somehow get the feeling that Cynthia wishes they'd asked her to surrogate for the new little one.  Emmett is so passionate about his causes.  Brian's lucky to have him for a friend.  So Lily is getting her wish for a little sister, unless there is another baby hiding somewhere's that they didn't see.  Nathan's professional life is looking up, but he could use some help with his personal life so he gets back with Justin.  Justin needs someone.  Can't wait to see what you have planned for New Orleans.  So much to do there.  Is Brian into ghost tours? They may need handcuffs to keep Lily from wandering off.

Author's Response:

Hello! I'm sure Brian would have loved to taken Eric to the bedroom and just stayed in there. But Eric had to see his baby girl and spend time with her too. ;) As for Cynthia, you may be right. However, she is the egg donor for both Lily and the new baby. I don't know if she sees herself becoming pregnant and this way, it will be easier for her to take a step back. However, she loves Lily immensely and I do think she regrets saying she wanted to become an Aunt figure rather than a mother figure. But her role may change once Lily finds out.

Lolol, only one baby this time! Although it was tempting to shock them. ;) I figured I couldn't do that since I did the hidden triplet thing in Nose to Bill. But Lily got her wish (and can tell the future) so that's what matters, haha. Nathan is doing well professionally and is critically acclaimed, no less! And aw, it would be nice for him if his wishes and his mindset could align with Justin's. I don't know if that will happen but I can promise that they will always be close.

Brian might be interested in ghost tours. I could see him interested in the historical aspect and the nightlife. :) And you're right, they are going to keep Lily in their sight more than ever!

What a lovely chapter I really am enjoying the love and contentment Brian is feeling with Eric and Lilly. The things Lilly says made me laugh out loud several times 👏

Author's Response:

Aw, Lily is so fun to write so I'm glad you think that. :) Also, happy you are enjoying the love and contentment between this family. I know not everyone is but I say enjoy it while it lasts. ;) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

LOVED this chapter Anne! it's so good that Justin finds Lily!! And aww, she is sooo a little girl, crying endlessly because she doesn't want to go to bed but is really completely exhausted. I really enjoyed the soupe scene, too. I had nausea just imagining eating it ;) I also really enjoyed Brian and Justin's interactions. It seems Brian is still struggling with some aspect of their past but I know their love for each other, even if not the 'in love' kind now, is real and so, Brian is still hurting over the fact that Justin just ending it all, somehow. Anyway, great job again. I love how you write about day to day scenes! Looking forward to more :)

Author's Response:

Aw, thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad you liked it. Justin did find Lily, something that Brian is immensely grateful for. And yes, she really is a stubborn little girl. Wait until she grows up and would kill for a nap LOL. Oh, that soup definitely had a unique flavor, that's for sure. I'm surprised Justin could get down what he did. So happy you enjoyed the B/J interactions. And you hit the nail on the head when it comes to Brian struggling. Even though Brian is the one who ultimately ended it, he did it without really thinking it through due to feeling betrayed over Justin changing his mind in terms of his priorities. I think while Brian knows better now and understands where Justin was in that point of his life, it still hurts to think about.

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review! I will try to get more up soon. Until then, you can always check out the Emmett/Drew story that is set within the Intersect Universe. ;) Later!

Pew... thank all goddesses for Justin.
Love this chapter, this sentence is brilliant: “Cleaning my kitchen, letting me take a nap, finding my kid...what do you want?”

Oh.... Brian so stubborn not wanting to show your work... but well it's yours so you get to decide.

Now Annie, you know me a bit by now so you'll understand that this is not meddling with you story (I hope) But does Brian need this: http://goo.gl/QCGBfi

Author's Response:

Justin is definitely a superhero in Lily and Brian's eyes now! ;)

Lol, glad you liked that line. With Justin doing so much for him, a man has to be at least a little bit suspicious.

Brian's shy when it comes to his hobby. But maybe one day he'll come around. :)

LOL. I think Brian bought one for her that night. It's definitely a necessary purchase. Thank you for reading and reviewing, Edda! It means a lot!

Justin to the rescue! I really liked the scenes between the three of them. I'm glad that Justin is moving ahead with the surrogacy plans too.

Curious to know why Brian is so uptight about the check payment... it seems like there's more there than just being too proud to take money from Justin, even now that his is an adult.

Author's Response:

Aw, I'm glad you liked their scenes together. And yes, Justin is moving forward with his plans. It's a really big step for him. :)

I think Brian was afraid of tying up loose ends at a time where Justin wasn't a part of his life. He may be proud but there are definitely other reasons behind it.

Great update.  Loved that Justin found Lily and that she was so trustng of him-  the soup was priceless.  Justin and Brian's conversation-  wow-  there is so much tension of sorts there-  they are getting to be friends but I see Brian still being a little hesitant-  loving this story - thanks for updating so quickly

Author's Response:

Yes, Lily has grown quite fond of Justin. He's been around since he's befriended both Brian and Eric and she really likes him as well as Nathan. :) The soup...blech. But she had fun so that's what matters lolol. There is a lot of tension when it comes to the past. Brian isn't quite ready to face it. I'm glad you are loving the story and it was the least I could do after leaving the chapter before this one on such a cliffhanger! ;)

Loved that Brian, Justin and Lily spent the afternoon together.  That soup she made was so cute yet so disgusting. I'm interested by Brian's reaction to Justin's questions about payback for the loan and why his demeanor towards Justin changed so much after it was mentioned.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you loved their time together! That soup really was something. I'm not sure if I could even force myself to eat it. I think Brian isn't quite ready to confront the past and what went wrong. More of that will be revealed before the first story is over. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: February 11, 2016 10:37 PM · On: Chapter 39: S. 4th and Bedford

I enjoyed Lily's interaction with Justin in this chapter more than any other Lily moment, which I guess just reconfirms how much I want this for Justin and how right Nathan was about that :( Truth be told I loved the three of them together and couldn't help but feel a fairly strong pang for what might have been, but strangely not what I wished for them now ..  that wish is now firmly reserved for Nathan.

That said I was more than ready for some serious B/J interaction. Their relationship will always be my primary interest so I was very happy to see some development on that front.

Author's Response:

Nathan really was right, wasn't he? Justin does love the little ones. I really like your statement about it causing you a pang for what could have been but not what you want for him now. And I really love your loyalty towards Nathan. He's a character who I have grown attached to and when I look back on what I have written in terms of his storyline, I can pinpoint when he becomes the Nathan we all know because that's when I finally developed who he is as a person and is background story. He's going to make another appearance in a couple of chapters and still have a decent sized role in the sequel.

I'm glad you liked the B/J interaction! I'm sure many have their relationship at the forefront of their minds, myself included. :) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! It means a lot.

*stamps foot* you better stick to your word with this one shot deleted scene business... I want to see Brian trying to keep up with two four-year-olds who are desperately in love - MAKE IT HAPPEN :)

Seriously, though, these last two chapters have been my favourite. You know I love me some Lily, but this was the perfect combination of Brian and Justin and Brian and Lily. I have been waiting for a BJ chapter and we sure got that.

This had me worried (wtf was Lily), laughing (sous chef), smiling HUGE (Brian and Justin -  and Justin finding the pamphlet in the drawer) sad (the whole conversation regarding the check) and then anxious when things seemed awkward after their conversation.

So much love for this :)

Author's Response:

lolol, I will try! You see how long this chapter was running though? Could you imagine how long it would be if I included the four extra scenes I planned on doing? But yes, Brian trying to keep up with two four year olds who are desperately in love, all while buying them fries and slush puppies from the concession stand would be quite amusing :)

I'm so glad you loved these last two chapters, Sally! It means a lot and I always appreciate your input. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Terrific chapter.  Losing a kid can be scary, it's good that Justin found her.  Will Brian show his photo's at Justin's gallery?

Author's Response:

It really can be scary. Brian was pretty frantic so it's great Justin spotted her.

I'm not sure if he'll have a show there or not. You never know! Maybe he will someday. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing! :)

I like more Brian and Justin get together again, hopefully u can make it to be happening in next chapters. gracias.

Author's Response:

I would consider their conversation here a very meaningful one, even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. If it didn't suit you, then I guess stick around for another one?

Uh huh... The tension is SO think... I'm curious of what's going to happen.

Brian might murder Sunshine in his sleep if he gets a photo exhibition he doesn't want.

Author's Response:

There is definite tension when the past is brought up. It isn't something Brian is ready to face, tbh.

Lolol, I'm sure Justin would have to get his permission first. He is a professional, after all. ;) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I love this x 102929828282782! Like seriously, could I adore this more? I don't think I can. Brian as a daddy is just too adorable, but the way you have kept him so in character is just perfection. And you know how I feel about Miss. Lily! She is just too damn precious.

Things I loved

  • Brian snoring
  • Lily warming her feet up on Brian
  • Meanie poopy head
  • Lily asking Brian out to lunch
  • That Brian knows how to look after curly hair. It's not easy.
  • Forgetting her underwear
  • Pretending to talk like grown ups. And that Brian's real day wasn't an acceptable answer lol.
  • The Sous Cheif game
  • And she does know what it means, IT'S THE NAME OF HER GAME.
I can't wait for the next part. I know this was a very Brian/Lily centric chapter, but it was just so good and I loved every bit of it :)

Author's Response:

Lolol, you are such a Lily fan so I knew you'd like these chapters. Brian is a good daddy and I think Lily has helped his patience grow. I'm glad you feel like they are in character and like most of the new characters as well. Especially Lily. She really is precious.

Of course Brian snores. They just didn't show us on the show. But if you have a deviated septum, then there's a good chance you will. He can't help it. ;)

Lily can be a little trying sometimes but I am sure Brian thought the feet warming was cute. However, I'm sure he was quite hurt by a stinging insult like meanie poopy head. :'(

I'm pretty sure Eric made him learn as soon as Lily's hair grew a little and showed them how curly it was really going to be. ;)

Lily just gets really excited sometimes and forgets some minor things once in a while. She has better things to think about, you know?

Of course it wasn't acceptable. Games are to escape reality and create a new one and Brian didn't abide by that.

Sous Chef is a game that she loves so SO much but Eric really should have never showed her. But at least it taught her a new word.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Sally! It means a lot!

Author's Response:

He did lose his daughter. :( In his defense, he didn't mean to. And in her defense, she didn't wander away on purpose. They really did do a lot. I feel like Lily is the perfect cure for insomnia (provided that she leaves you alone once you are ready to crash.) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

This story affects me much. It hurts to see Brian and Justin with others. My only comfort is that no matter who came in later, it was with Justin that Brian learned how to love. Still the story is painful even for a fiction that I felt like ending my life.

Author's Response:

Well, I certainly hope that you don't. Remember that this is fictional and, not only that, but only one of many interpretations of what could happen present day.

All I can say is that Justin could be a lot more than Brian's friend.
And as mean as I may sound...I hope something happens to Eric...though, it would gut Brian and Lily...

I'm curious on what you plan for them.

It does sound pretty mean. Eric's a good man and a good father. :P But you want what you want, I guess lol.

So much happening, here! Considering what is happening in my life right now, this feels completely real! I love Lily here and also Gus' reaction. The fact that he isn't jumping with joy over the news is completely spot on for me. I laughed at Michael's irritation! It's great that they're also having a baby :) and Justin... I love your Justin so much and I particularly enjoyed the scene outside between him and Brian. All the chapter flows naturally. I love it! Eager to read the next one, as always :)

Author's Response:

I'm glad you feel that it rings true to life, Alois! While Gus is ultimately happy for Brian and Eric, it is something harder for him to accept. And of course Lily is bouncing off the walls, but I'm sure she will face some eventual jealousy as well. I would be irritated if I were Michael too! He has this huge announcement to make, something regarding a want he and Ben have had for years, and when he's working his way up to announcing it, the same announcement is made by another couple? Bullshit! lolol.

I enjoy writing Justin. I feel like I identify with him the most. He's sort of in limbo right now and trying to consider his paths, none of them the absolutely perfect choice. It can be tough.

You can thank Sally for the inspiration for that scene. She wanted a soccer scene so I gave her one. :)

I'm (finally) working on the next chapter now. There is a lot of Brian, Justin, and Lily in it. Thank you for reading and reviewing! It means a lot!

Reviewer: mandy'smom (Anonymous) · Date: January 15, 2016 03:20 PM · On: Chapter 1: 34th and 7th

this is story is not really friendly for bj fans isn't? while I wish Justin could find happiness with Brian, he is constantly grilled so many times with Brian-Eric that showing their romance before his bare eyes, can we at least have more Brian-Justin's interaction? and I think it would be partially great if Eric could see them together like really together :)

Author's Response:

I think that, even though it might cause a twinge in his heart, Justin is happy for Brian and likes Eric a lot. He wants them to be happy and supports their relationship. He's an adult and can accept that sometimes people fall in love again, just like he did. There will be more Brian/Justin interaction next chapter but I do wish you would read my notes about how this is a trilogy and that B/J is eventually coming down the road. I hate giving that way but I know many readers are so close-minded when it comes to this couple (which is frustrating) and wouldn't give the story a chance if they didn't know.

So hard for Justin to see both Brian and Michael pregnant.  I know their friendship is good, but I think both men may have thoughts that things would have worked out differently for them.

Author's Response:

Well, they aren't pregnant themselves but do have a surrogate. :) They did think that at one point but I think that, when Brian fell in love with Eric and Justin was living his life with his own lovers up in New York, they accepted to take life as it came. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Lovely update! Lily is adorable... at least in print. Not sure I could deal with her on a day to day basis, LOL! I kinda figured what Michael's big announcement would be, & that Brian & Eric would steal his thunder. I do like this mature well-adjusted Michael though... and more than a little happy that Brian also recognizes the hero worship that defined their early relationship. Please make Justin happy.

BTW... any news of vampires in Pittsburgh?

Author's Response:

Awww, you'd just have to get used to her excited and dramatic ways! ;) Brian and Eric did steal his thunder, even if unintentionally. Michael has matured some, hasn't he. I think the move, the comic, and his marriage with Ben has been great for him. Brian does realize the hero worshipping that went on and I do think that he's relieved that he hasn't been the center of Michael's world for a long time now, although they will still share a lot of love for each other for the rest of their lives.

As for Feed & Extract, I haven't given up on it quite yet. I know how I want it to end but not how I want it paced. I do need to work on it though. It just hasn't been a strong pull for me. I am glad that you enjoy it so much though!

There were so many moments in this chapter that made me fall in love with these guys all over again. I don't even know where to start.

Brian letting Hus and his gf sneak upstairs was hilarious, he really doesn't care LOL.

Gus calling Brian old, that may have been one of your best lines yet.

Brian having done a Tampax comercial, I would have LOVED to have watched him come up with ideas for that.

The announcements were so cute. I adore Eric printing off copies of the scan, shame on Ben for not doing the same ;) Poor Deb is going to have a heart attack with all the cutness coming in to her life :)

Lily trying to keep the secret made me laugh, of course that must have felt like a trillion years to her, poor kid.

Gus's reaction to the baby news made me want to wrap him up and cuddle him. I could totally imagine him feeling the way he does. No matter how much they assure him, that must still be hard. Seeing your dad with this other life that you're not part of, aw!

The way Brian greets Justin at the door, taking his wrist and then hugging him = oh my, that set off so many feels for me. I just really like how they have become friends, like actual friends, not friends because they fuck, you know?

The soccer scene was so hot, and I liked that Justin was watching and then joined in. I bet Eric is gutted he missed out on the free show :)

The sexytimes in this was so hot, Eric tracing Brian's pecs??? MEOW! What a lucky boy.

This keeps on getting better and better :)

Author's Response:

You know I love your long rambling reviews, Sally!

Brian can only care so much about what Gus is up to. He wants to make sure Gus is safe and, in his opinion, he feels like he doesn't have to worry about much past that.

Brian is old. Even Gus can see that. ;)

I'm sure he threw the girls twirling in flirty white dresses out the window. Even he knows that is bullshit.

Ben really dropped the ball there. ;) And yes, SO MUCH CUTE is coming into Debbie's life.

Lily managed, but just barely. She was SO excited and it was such a long time not to say anything.

Gus finds it hard sometimes. While he is at with his dad on and off, he sometimes feel separated from him in terms of being part of his family. He knows that his dad and Eric feel like he's just as much a part of the family as Lily is but sometimes it's hard for him to see that.

Yayyy, you liked the hug :)

And I had to add the soccer scene. You do know that was all for you, right?

Right? Eric is one lucky man.

So glad you are still enjoying this, Sally! Hope you like the rest of the story!

So we get to find out whether Lily gets a brother or sister next chapter?  It's good that Justin was able to help Lily when Eric had to leave.  Working away from home several weeks is hard when children are involved.

Author's Response:

You'll get to find out two chapters from now. :) And yes, Justin knows from his own heartache that food helps! lol. It is awfully hard when extended travel is involved for a career if kids are involved. Lily doesn't want her papa to go away and Eric doesn't want to be away from his little girl and husband either. :/ But sometimes these things have to happen. I'm sure he will Skype with them a lot in the meantime. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter! I enjoy getting the whole gang together since the majority of the story focuses on only a few of the canon characters: Brian, Justin, Emmett, Drew, and some Gus (who will have a larger part in the second story, as well as Cynthia.)

Justin is doing a bit better. He's starting to realize his options and he's very grateful for the friendship he shares with Brian. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

This flows and feels like real life, it's not easy to be Justin at the moment and I love the man he has become .. but let us not forget at his still relatively young age he has loved, been loved and is still loved by two of the most gorgeous men ever imagined .. From the outside other people can appear to have it all, but life is certainly not perfect for Ben and Micheal and sadly the future is not going to be perfect for Brian and Eric either .. we can't have everything and "two out of three ain't bad" :)

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you are enjoying the flow and it's such a compliment to say it is so realistic. :) While Justin is down at the moment, he is getting better and trying to move forward accordingly. And you are right, he is a very lucky man to have shared love with two men as wonderful as Brian and Nathan. I think he realizes he's lucky in the money and career department but he feels as though his love and potential family desires are conflicting terribly. It's ridiculous how proud I am of Justin for wanting to raise a kid on his own, rather than waiting for the right man to see if this is an option for him. I totally just snapped my fingers all, "you don't need no man, Justin..."

Seriously though, I love all the new twists and plots that keep forming in this story. it just keeps on getting better and better. But I tell you that enough for you to know that anyway :)

I cannot wait for the next part :) BRING IT ON!

Author's Response:

He doesn't need any man! He's a strong, independent human being so hear him roar. ;)

I'm glad you love the plot of this story! I know some find it too slow moving but I try to keep it interesting. And yes, you do tell me that frequently haha.

Next part is now up!

God! I love Molly! She's brilliant!

"This is awkward as fuck so I can't really talk to you much. Lunch Tuesday?" lmao perfect!

I feel like Brian & Justin have a secret connection that isn't very secret at all...

Author's Response:

Molly is pretty great! :) I'm glad you like my version of her.

I think Brian and Justin are on their way to becoming close friends and they have an undeniable and strong history. Of course, things can change. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

OMG is that 'until death do us part' foreshadowing??

Also I have to know...what will their first dance be...to dance to?

And will the band be playing 'Save The Last Dance For Me' at all? Holy shit!

Author's Response:

You never know! And the first dance was to "I'll be Seeing You."

No "Save the Last Dance for Me." I think both Nathan and Eric know about that song by now. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

OMG Emmett! Open mouth, insert foot! Couldn't help but laugh though. I really wonder what the story will be for the next Rage issue or are they going to take from real life again? Hmmmmmm

Broke my heart when Brian looks over at Justin & his head is down looking sad...then of course when he blinks the mositure from his eyes and excuses himself. Jesus! Doesn't EVERYONE see their connection is still wicked strong?! I'm dying here!

Author's Response:

Emmett meant well lolol. And Rage will be disscussed at least a couple of times before the first story is over. :)

It's hard. Yes, they are in love with other men and don't regret the way they are living their lives now. However, they never got that closure that they needed so it's hard. I think that people do see the connection they have and they respect it. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I'm curious. How much longer is this story? When the sequel? :) I can't wait for B/J to reunite

Not too bad at all. But, just because someone is good with kids and likes them, doesn't mean they think they themselves are meant to be parents. I think he would be a good one if it ever came to pass though. :)

One step ahead for the B/J happy ending...but 100 steps back what with Brian's wedding. Unless you kill Eric? I'll kind of miss him. I think. Not sure.

Haha. Regardless, Brian's relationship with Eric will have a large impact on his life, even after it ends. He shares a child with him, after all. But, while the steps will be many, Brian and Justin do end up together.

This feels encouraging for Justin.  I'm glad he met Ewen and had the discussion about children.  He needs this in his life.  I want to see him happy again.

Author's Response:

I think meeting Ewan was good for Justin. He knew the option was there but it was nice to see someone living that option. And he's trying. Some days are harder than others but he's managing a little better now. Thanks for reading and revewing!

I find I like the idea of Justin having a baby when he wants one rather than waiting for the right man to come along to have one with .. a lot. The time is right for him and who knows what the future has in store. Also this is a way for Nathan to still be a part of it all .. Is it strange that that realisation absolutely sealed the deal for me.

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you enjoy this idea, Carol! And you know how much I love that you love Nathan. I think that if Justin does have a child on his own, that child will be quite special to Nathan and vice versa. Thank you for reading and reviewing. It truly means a lot. :)

Author's Response:

Aw, Sophia is just really good with reading pieces she's passionate about. ;) Ewan is a kind man and unknowingly gave Justin a lot to think about in terms of where his life could leave. While Brian and Molly have both brought this option up to Justin before, this is the first time he's met a gay man who has done just that and was happy with his choices. So Justin might try having a child without benefit of the partner.  Or will he look Ewan up if he should drop into London.  So many ways this can go.  Sophia might be part Gypsy with the way she reads paintings.

Author's Response:

It looks like it is going that way, doesn't it? I think Justin is a good and confident man when it comes down to it so I fully believe in him. As for Ewan, while I don't have current plans for them to have a long lasting relationship, they may become friends and flirt a bit! You're right. There are many ways this can go. Sophia might just be part Gypsy haha.

I can't believe I'm up this early catching up on this fic, but I am, and I'm so happy for it. The last chapter left me feeling sad for Justin's and a little upset with Nathan because of the uprupt break up. But I guess all breakups seem a little uprupt for the person being dumped. But I'm so happy to see that this chapter has a more positive outlook at the end. Although, the thought of Justin having children alone....): When Ewan was first introduced- I thought NO! not another boyfriend that I'll fall in love with like Eric and have me questioning whether Justin and Brian really need to be together. But then nothing happened! :D

Great chapter! Can't wait for more.

Olivia

Author's Response:

I couldn't believe I stayed up until 4 am to post it so don't worry about it. ;) I'm honored you read it first thing! You are completely right, a lot of the time the person feeling dumped is taken by surprised and suffers a lot (but in this case Nathan is suffering a lot too.) He's slowly but surely starting to gain a more positive outlook on things. While being a single parent might not be ideal, many people are brave enough to do it and I think it speaks words that Justin would consider it. I don't think him having a child initially alone is something to be sad about because that child will bring him a lot of happiness. :) And he might not stay single for long...

As for Ewan, I have no (current) plans to make him a major character. Justin may speak to him from time to time and there might be some flirtation there but I doubt an actual long lasting romantic relationship will occur between the two of them. Justin can turn to him for advice. :)

Thank you for reading and reviewing! It means a lot.

Oh, my heart totally broke for Justin at the end. I am so SO happy for Brian and Eric, and I know Brian didn't tell him to rub it in, but that poor boy needs a cuddle.

Justin playing Power Rangers may have been the cutest thing ever, I bet he totally got in to it too. And Duncan missing Lily - aw :)

I loved how Craig suggested they do something Justin wanted to do, he's trying so hard aw! And I don't know why, but Molly glaring at him when he ditched them made me laugh, because that is something that would so happen between my sister and I in those circumstances :)

Loved this as always!!!!!!!!

Author's Response:

Justin is having a rough time here, that's for sure. He really does need a cuddle but I'm sure Duncan making him play Power Rangers helped him some. ;)

Craig is really trying here. He is really worried about Justin and is #TeamNathan. But more importantly, he is making sure that he stays #TeamJustin. After all the years of silence between them (due to Craig's actions) he just really wants Justin to be happy and well, just like Justin wants for him.

Molly was pissed. That was not her idea of a good time. ;)

Everytime I see an update for this story I feel so happy. Even though it is full of angst, this story has captured my heart.

As I go over Brian and Justin's relationship I realize there was one element missing in their relationship. They were a one night stand, a crush. Then they were held together by guilt. Though I'm sure there was love, there were too many outside elements keeping them apart.

Justin needed to go to New York to grow up. Sadly they grew apart. Except now in this moment they are finally on the same page, and they have the last element. They are friends.

There will be tears. Because Nathan is now where Justin use to be. Justin is where Brian was. Eric is the one I am confused about. Because he is such a good person and he loves his family.

When this story ends I am going to go back and read it over again. Looking forward to the end.

Author's Response:

Hi, Toniu!

I do think you are right. They had friendly moments and shared a group of friends but there was never that build that led up to a relationship. Of course there was love but often circumstances held them together.

I agree on Justin needed to grow up into his own person. He needed to gain that independence to find out what he truly wanted and needed out of life. And yes, now Brian and Justin are finally friends. :)

There is a full circle element here, and I am glad that you see it. I'm also glad that you seem to like and respect Nathan and Eric.

The newest chapter is now up! I do hope you enjoy it. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Hi Anne! I was very happy to see a new update of this! My heart goes out to Justin in this chapter. I love the way you described his feelings through his paintings. Glad that he can talk to Brian, even if the news of a new baby must be upsetting. Good thing he is a strong man, because I perfectly understand why he feels like his life is for shit right now. I hope he will find hapiness along the way. Thank you for this chapter :)

Author's Response:

Hi Alois! Thank you for reading my update (and I just saw a few minutes ago that you updated recently as well!) Justin is going through a hard time, for sure. I'm also glad you liked his moment in his studio and I am pleased to hear that his feelings and interpretations came across okay in terms to what he was painting. While Justin feels bad about his reaction, it was upsetting for him to hear even though he is happy for Brian and Eric as well. He just feels like everyone's life is going how he would like his own to go. While his career is flourishing, he feels like his personal life is for shit right now. He will eventually find happiness, even if he has to go through some sadness first. Thank you for reading and reviewing, Alois! It means a lot!

It is so sad the Justin doesn't have a family, while Brian and Emmett do.  If Nathan would just come to his senses, things might turn out all right.

Author's Response:

Aw, it is sad. Of course he is happy for Emmett and Brian and loves Lily and Duncan. He just wants that kind of happiness as well.

Lolol, it might be alright if Nathan changed his mind on kids but at the same time I don't think he should feel forced into having children, considering all he went through. I truly believe Nathan would make a good father and would love a child he shared with Justin but at the same time he is quite young and may be right when he says he's not built to have kids. We shall see how things come to pass.

Thank you for reading and reviewing! You always leave such kind reviews and I really appreciate it. :)

Great update! I know deep down Justin really is happy for Brian... but that had to have been really hard for him. Harder even then going to the wedding, because now he is without Nathan too.

Love the texting between Justin & Molly!

Author's Response:

It is hard for him, for sure. I don't think he meant to take it out on Brian. He is happy for him and for Eric. They are both becoming dear friends. But Brian was also his first love who was against all of these things at one point in his life. While Brian eventually came around when Justin was just finding himself as an individual, it's hard to see Brian get all the things that Justin is genuinely starting to want desperately. And he misses Nathan a lot, of course. Poor guy is going through a rough time right now.

Glad you liked the brother/sister interaction! Molly may be involved in one more chapter out of the 8 left of the first story in the trilogy, but she does have a somewhat prevalent storyline in the next story. :) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: November 29, 2015 03:29 PM · On: Chapter 34: Franklin and Park

Nathan is stronger than Justin and much as I hate to admit it I think he's right about Justin too. 'Love isn't always enough' .. What a cliche .. enough for what? Because as far as I can see Nathan loves Justin enough to not allow him to compromise and Justin loves Nathan enough that he will accept that truth and continue to love him and be a part of his life. And I purposely didn't say 'only as a friend' because a loving friendship is priceless. Let us not forget Brian let Justin go because he was ready for a commitment that Justin suddenly seemed less sure of .. he made a rash decision and there were obviously misunderstandings on both sides .. and that is why they will always have unfinished business. Despite what I might wish for I think Nathan despite his youth and issues sees Justin clearer than Brian ever did.

It's always a persons imperfections that endear them to me and the brief glimpse of snarky (in response to Craigs sincere comments) and bitchy (re Brian's perfect husband) Justin made me smile.

Author's Response:

Carol, you know I love how much you love Nathan. It warms my heart that you are rooting for him and think so highly of him. :) His friendship with Justin is just beginning and it will be a very close and dear friendship in time. But I was telling the truth when I told you their romance isn't completely over yet. There will be a period of time where the lines are quite blurred. But Nathan knows him and is open to communication. He's become very mature despite being so young and does see Justin and their differences in desires quite clearly.

Justin had the tendency to snark and bitch in the show lolol, even with age that hasn't completely left him. ;) New chapter is now up!

I went to see the new Bond movie last night so I decided to wait and read this today because I didn't want to mix my Daniel Craig high with this high. So glad I did. And I don't mind that I could hardly read it because of tears in my eyes.... had to read many of the paragraphs more than once because they were blurred....
I tried to analyze during my read, "Hey what's with the tears?" ...and my only answer is that I've fallen in true love with all the characters. Even Craig. Wow... I have to meet you I just have to. Please don't think you have a stalker hehe... I'm actually not as nuts as this reads. I just really think you've given me such a great gift by writing this!

Aw, Molly and Hunter are sweet. Although, I do understand. You don't really get to see them together. I may write a one-shot revolving around them, which will go in the Intersect one-shot series. I will probably write an Emmett/Drew one first.

I'm glad you are rooting for Justin/Nathan though! I like that there are more people showing love and empathy for Nathan. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

So glad to see an update.  I lvoe that Justin's family came to see Nathan even if they aren't together. So nice to see that Brian is supporting Justin and the weird family dynamics too. They've become friends and that is nice to see as well.   I'm jsut surprised Justin hasn't realized the parallel of Brian letting him go since they did not want the same things and Nathan letting him go for the same reasons.  I know there is some hidden meaning there.

Author's Response:

I feel like Justin might unconsciously see the parallels and that is what is partly making him a little bitter. I was glad that Justin's family came out for Nathan too. I went back and forth on whether or not they should but Nathan deserved the support. Molly, Jennifer, Tucker, and now even Craig are all good people who want to support him. Of course it doesn't mean it can't get awkward. Brian catches onto that pretty quickly. I am glad you enjoy Justin's friendship with him. Thank you for reading and reviewing! That was a lovely chapter I really enjoyed having some Molly interaction and the siblings forcing each other to voice their feelings good and bad. The relationship between siblings is so close as there is no agendas they just tell it like it is

Author's Response:

I always wanted a sibling growing up. I have a cousin I am close with but it is different. I'm glad you thought this was a realistic positive sibling relationship. They definitely can be real with each other and any hurt feelings caused do not last for long. Thank you for reading and reviewing! Next chapter is now up :)

Author's Response:

You never know! I am super surprised that you are rooting for them though! I know you to be a strong B/J shipper but I love you are rooting for this couple as well. Talking to Brian might be a very good idea. It's not that Nathan doesn't like kids. Oh, wow! So worth the wait!

I feel hopeful for Nathan, that maybe he has taken a small step toward learning how to love himself, as he said. But after the awkwardness of that Taylor family reunion, I'll never complain about my own family get-togethers again, LOL!

Craig has made huge progress, but I guess he'll never get used to Brian. Very curious to see what happens at the family lunch and then Brian & Justin's lunch too!

Author's Response:

Glad it was worth the wait! I hope the next wait isn't as long!

Nathan is trying. He at least realizes that he isn't okay. He'll go through a lot but he will eventually live a nice life. Some things will happen that will make you very concerned for him though. The Taylor family reunion was a bit awkward but at least Jennifer now knows the worry her kids are going through in regards to their father. It puts pressure on her but she should know. Craig has made a lot of progress but he will always have mixed or bitter feelings about Brian at best. Even though he's okay with Justin being gay now, he still thinks it was wrong of Brian to sleep with his seventeen year old son. And I can't really blame him for that. The age thing would get to a lot of parents. Of course Nathan is a lot younger than Justin but Justin got with Nathan when the kid was 21, so he was completely legal. Craig knows that and doesn't care. Of course he's made progress but I think Craig will always see Brian as a man who slept with his high schooler son.

I was actually going to do a time jump after this chapter but your review made me reconsider writing the lunches and THEN the time jump lol. We shall see but I might be putting two chapters up at once. ;) Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Okay, wait, just wait, how do you manage to do this to me? My emotions are all over the place. At first I hate Craig then I feel so sorry for him that I could cry - THEN I hated Nathan and now I like Nathan and want to smoosh him and heal his broken heart.

Nathan's letter to Justin was beautiful, and I could see him writing it - willing himself not to cry but failing :(

And how is it that Jenn is only in this for the tiniest amont of time, yet she was probably my favourite part of this story? Her heart is just so big and she is such a genuine sweet lady. After all she went through with Craig and the divorce, he was still her husband for 20 years, of course she still has a place for him in her heart. Not everyone would be so sweet and considerate (TEAM JENN!)

Brian texting Justin was a lovely touch. And I lol'd imagining Brian and Drew discussing ballet. I bet they know all the names of the little moves the kids are taught :)

BUT FINALLY - THEY KISSED..... and then Petra walked in and ruined it. I mean, she didn't, because as much as I NOW love them together I wouldn't want either of them to sacrafice the things that are important to them. And Justin wants kids. Maybe not now, but he does, and I think if he stayed with Nathan he would regret that. It still hurts though :(

Author's Response:

I use this stories to manipulate the emotions of innocent readers. ;)

Craig is in a rough place and is quite depressed. At least he's letting a couple of people know and is talking to a psychiatrist. Awww, but you hated Nathan? I'm glad you don't anymore though lol. He needs a lot of smooshing so feel free. Writing that letter was a very emotional experience for him. It was tough and put him through the wringer but also cathartic in a way, even though he hated writing some of it.

Jennifer is a lovely lady. She still cares about Craig and will always love him due to the past and children they share, even though part of her despised what he did. She's very frightened for him and is quite concerned for his well-being.

Brian was not about to chit chat with Justin while Craig was standing there. Too awkward for him. Drew knows his terms in ballet. Brian is trying to learn them. ;)

Nathan and Justin did kiss. And I am shocked that you are happy about that! lolol. Yes, even though Petra kind of cut them off, I think that the same outcome would have been had, even if they had had sex in the dressing room. Kids are a hard things to compromise on. Too bad because Justin and Nathan really are a nice couple ;(

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Sally! It means a lot!

I only have five pages written. I've had a lot of stuff going on in RL. Every time I try to sit down something else comes back up. I hope to get some written today and have it up by tomorrow or in a couple of days though.

About LiLy :i like her...but i probably would go crazy as a parents :) and probably right now i'm not in mindset -having a child so i was just saying that. There are some children more quite than her( at least i hope!!!!).So she is cute but -o god-having her in my house would drive me nut and in bed at 5 pm!!!!!Luckily B and E have options in childcare ( school ,sitter and them) so they can have time alone.

But i need to pin the reality of your Lily:soo good job.

ps:so not a critic to lily chapter but her being so real that you can be tired of her demanding and her energy ^_^ hope i explain myself clearly

Author's Response:

Aww, I'm glad you still like her. She is loves everyone and means well. She also can be well-behaved when it comes down to it. She just has so much love and energy pent up in her that she has to show ALL of it. Brian and Eric do have childcare and preschool but do try to keep their evenings and weekends free for her. :)

Reviewer: sweetc (Anonymous) · Date: November 20, 2015 11:36 PM · On: Chapter 33: 31st and 24th

I'm not back full time reading this but i check to not lose too much.I loved this and i also wrote a long comment about this chapter but this site didin't pubblish soooooo i was so angry .

I love Nathan but i'm so sorry for him :(((I also think Eric was very helpful and caring.Good move.I want hug nathan and never let him go ( he is quite hot guy).

Don't take this as a critic but as a compliment to your way of compose:I can't stand Lily!!!!She is so hyper i would probably go crazy if i have to put with her!!!!when i finished i was like ...i need a break from children!!!!!WTH!!!!!!I think children are cute but i can't stand them too much time  especially little ones like lily high demanding...i prefer older ones.Your children are so real i can't stand them sometimes...like at the wedding your gus  was so teenagerish i would have toss his cellphone out of the window.Don't worry no baby here with me ghghg.

I can't wait to see what's next

Author's Response:

Lmao! It's okay, sweetc! I Lily's passion and energy is not for everyone. Although, we do become used to the quirks or the people we live with so I think Brian and Eric can deal because they watched her grow up from a normal infant to the crazy kid she is today. But yes, she is definitely a strong ENFP personality with a lot of quirkiness, imagination, passion, stubborness, and intellect lolol. (Eric is ENFJ and Nathan INFP, by the way ;))

As for Nathan, he is having a rough time. We can only hope he starts to embrace his friends more like Petra, Sebastian, and Nadia. And Eric is becoming a good friend as well, despite the age gap and the fact he is with Brian. He has a difficult journey in the second story but also an important one.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Nathan is a sweet soul. He was amazing with Lily. I'm glad he has a friend in Eric. I hope he realize that.

Lily is amazing, she's an amazing person. Doesn't suprise me with all the people who love her.

Great to hear from Nathan.

Can't wait to read more.

Author's Response:

He is definitely a wonderful human being and he's better with kids than he thinks. Lily is fantastic! hehe. I'm awfully proud of her. She's a passionate and outgoing little girl. You'll see a little more Nathan in the next chapter, which is now up! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Finally I get a chance to read this new chapter, and finally a chance to tell you off.... jk....
But I'm pretty sure you mixed up the names of Nathan and Eric a couple of times around the phone call they had, right....???

Small detail, but your writing demands it to be right. I'm so in love with Nathan, already was for several chapters, and I dare to hope the letter will find its way to Justin with him taking it in a healthy way. Please Justin just please accept it..... well... I would cry my self... so who am I to ask...

Again love this story. I want to hug you. If you ever go over seas, my couch is yours if you make a stop in Iceland :)

Author's Response:

Just checked And I did type Eric instead of Nathan one time. I'll be sure to change it. Thank you for pointing it out! I wrote that part late at night lol.

I'm glad you are enjoying this story so much and love Nathan! I think Justin will be touched by it but it might give him some hope too. Which you will see how that plays out. But remember, Justin and Nathan will always be SO important to each other. Nathan plays a huge part in the whole trilogy, as well as the alternate ending, and a possible strange alternate timeline I may or may not write. No matter what, Nathan has completely weaved himself into this universe.

Of course I will sleep on your couch! I would love to see Iceland! I just have to come up with the money now lol. You better remember the offer though because I will take you up on it if I have the chance! :)

Hugs to you too! I am so happy this story brings out such strong positive emotions. They override the negative ones.

ANNIE!

I didn't think you would be able to do it, to have me cross over from not really liking or caring THAT much about Nathan, to reading this and thinking he's adorable and just needs a good cuddle in his life.

And urgh, I adore Eric for inviting Nathan over to spend the day with him and Lily, that was so freaking cute. He has found a good friend there.

LILY, OUR LITTLE ACTAVIST <3 I freaking loved it. That was perfect - and what a great idea Nathan had about writing a letter... I want to read it.... HINT HINT HINT :)

I now need more.... :)

Author's Response:

Mwhahaha. I really am manipulative. I am glad you like Nathan now! He really does need cuddles. And help. And possibly more therapy. And as many friends as he can get.

Eric's a good guy. He cares about Nathan and knows deep down that Nathan didn't have a good life. Even though things probably didn't go to plan, I think Nathan really appreciated it.

Lily is hardcore over whale rights now. She's demanding "Save the Whale" decal stickers for her room and everything.

I may write Lily's letter...maybe Nathan's too. Keep an eye on the Intersect Interactive fics ;)

That chapter was a thing of beauty .. Your original characters are beginning to rival the main characters in appeal, unthinkable before this story and for me a total first. Clever girl :)

Author's Response:

Aw, that means so much! I figured you would like this chapter since you are a Nathan fan. :) I he will play a big part of the next chapter as well since it is Justin's POV. I've become very attached to the original characters as well and, although the ending will still stay the same, their presence will always play a big part of the Intersect trilogy and it will be awfully hard for me to let Britin happen again (in this universe, anyway.) But it will happen. I greatly appreciate the fact that you are such a Nathan advocate and love the rest of the original characters too! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I thought it was wonderful... I am glad Nathan has taken the small step to reconnect with Justin, at least on some level. I think those few minutes alone with Lily helped him with his "fear" of children... although I think I'm a little bit afraid of being alone with Lily, LOL!

Author's Response:

He did take a small step. It was a big one for him since he didn't know how to go about it but, when it comes down to it, he loves Justin and always will. He needs him in his life in whatever way he can have him. He's slowly getting the hang of things. He doesn't dislike children. He thinks Lily is cute and funny but I don't think he wants to be an actual parent (yet, at least.)

Oh, Lily would be a perfect little angel for you! You'd be fine ;)

So maybe this is the start to getting back together.  That Lily is sooo passionate and Nathan was surprisingly good with her.

Author's Response:

Anything is possible! There are definitely going to be some blurred lines when it comes to the relationships in Intersect but Justin and Nathan do need each other when it comes down with it. I'm biased but I think their past, present, and future relationship is beautiful. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Author's Response:

Part of him will always be in love with Justin. He cannot escape that. He's set on building a strong friendship with him and Eric trusts him. However, feelings will get more passionate the more time they spend together. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Deep sigh.... (the exhale.... that was hard but rewarding to read kind of sigh) after finishing this chapter. I can't really put it into words right now, just know that your writing pulls me in every time, and I feel so deeply saddened, yet thankful to "know" all those wonderful characters new and old in your story. The description of Lily's reunion with her fathers and the evening between the friends was so "life", yet something very few have, the sharing of the news and great dialogs. I think Brian did the right thing by visiting Justin, but then the line between right and wrong is blurry... never mind what I think... It's your story and I'm so happy to get to be in the same room as all those beautiful people and pets.

Writing this comment is blurry. Just know that I love the story, but I kind of wish I had the power to delete half of the comments on your behalf. My sigh after reading some of them was of a different nature than my initial sigh....

My day was blurry, I asked for a raise. A big one.... scared shitless they'll say yes and expect me to be as good as I need to be.... good thing I can come home and recharge by reading this

Love.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you are enjoying it so much, Edda! It can be frustrating to receive those reviews but I ultimately can move past them. Sometimes I want to debate hardcore because they are so biased or poorly worded but that's a different story. ;)

I also appreciate that you like the new characters added to the mix. I know OCs can irk some readers in all fandoms. I think as long as the OC isn't based off yourself as a love interest and they are very well developed and fit well within the story, then they should be welcome. I certainly find myself drawn to some OCs in certain works.

There definitely is a thin or shaky line when it comes to some of the relationships in this fic but I try to display them as complex and multi-dimensional. While Brian probably shouldn't have laid down on the bed with Justin, I think his heart was in the right place.

I hope you got that raise! New chapter is now up (Nathan's POV) for you to celebrate with!

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: October 28, 2015 12:03 AM · On: Chapter 32: 21st and Queens Plaza North

Its ironic that Brian and Eric's ideal is the catalyst that prompts Nathan to sacrifice his own personal happiness for Justin's. It's classic Kinney, is it any wonder he's so dear to my heart. He's 23, damaged and doesn't appear to have the support system even Brian had.... And Justin, the only person privy to his past, heartbroken and worried is .. in bed!? I feel bad for him but he's been here before and I have to ask myself why isn't he banging on Nathan's door and making him believe that he is enough and worth compromising some of his dreams for. Could it be that in his heart of hearts he doesn't really believe it either:(

Author's Response:

It is pretty ironic, isn't it? Nathan thinks the world of Justin and wants him to have everything he could desire in life. And, while Nathan has his band, and especially Petra, who loves him more than he realizes, he doesn't want to burden them with his demons. It's very sad. But I do promise you, they will prove to him how much they unconditionally love him. Justin will as well. You caught Justin at a bad time, as did Brian. ;) He's been trying to reach out but doesn't want to push too much. Part of it might be because he can't think of a compromise that Nathan would go for. I think that, if Nathan would come back if Justin told him kids weren't as important, Justin would say just that. But Nathan really feels that he isn't worth that sacrifice and wouldn't let Justin make it.

Never fear though. Nathan will play a big part next chapter and we will have Nathan AND Justin the chapter after that due to it being opening night of his show. Their relationship is far from over. They will always have a connection. Thank you for reading and reviewing, Carol! It always woarms my heart to see how much you care for Nathan. I have a couple of readers on Ao3 who feel the same way you do but it's still so rare to see a review in his defense. :)

why I find that Brian's effort to get to know what is happening to justin is not comforting at all, they sound like close friends instead of true lovers, u don't think that Justin is important person like Eric's or you just personally hate Justin because he is being blonde and beautiful? don't u think u have convinced people enough already about their what so called love interests so far

Hey Annie,

First I would just like to say AGAIN that you are doing a WONDERFUL job with Intersect. My emotions are all over the place, especially in this chapter. I feel like a damn traitor because I'm happy for Brian & Eric. Yet I feel so miserable for Justin. In my mind, when Justin said that he would never have a husband and a baby, I kinda thought that he's beginning to see himself as some sort of a fixer; like the guy only good enough to fix what's wrong or hurt within his partner of the moment only for them to leave and find someone else. And that really broke my heart even as I agreed with Brian that if he wants a child, he's financially stable and should make that happen for himself. So YES!!! I stay torn with this amazing world with REAL LIFE ISSUES you've created!

And Secondly, To the person (although that's NOT what I'd like to call her right NOW) who is saying that Nathan should "get over himself:" take a powder and chill out...or better yet DON'T review!! As writers, we are NOT obligated to tell the story YOU want but to stay true to our craft. Whereas I understand your frustration on Justin's behalf, you have disregarded the struggle of Nathan as a fictional character and VICTIMS who face this same issue EVERY SINGLE DAY. I know because I was one of them and even now 27 years later from the very FIRST inicident, I am STILL affected in some capacity.

There is an old adage: "If you can't say something nice, DON'T say anything at all." This should be a going motto among reviewers particularly because you don't have the knowledge or capability to understand what the AUTHOR was going through in delievering QUALITY work. Even if you are a writer yourself, you can't possibly understand another's thought process or the agony of writing a work which puts you as the author in such a vulnerable place. What we AUTHORS don't need is NEGATIVITY!! So please be courteous, conscientious and kind when leaving a review. We don't mind CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM but we do mind outright FOUL comments.

Annie, GREAT JOB ONCE AGAIN!!

~Nichelle

I'm going to interject here.  We do allow 'constructive criticism' of an author's work.  But the types of combative comments to this story have been far and above that, even though the writer has made it clear that this is not just a B/J story.   That is the writer's decision to make.  Some readers will like certain plots, while others won't.  If any reader persists in repeating the same type of criticism over and over again, however, they either need to move onto another story that is more to their liking, or risk being banned for harassment.  The choice is theirs.

I cannot stress enough that the best response to such behavior is not to respond at all or delete them.  Easier said than done, I know, but the best approach.  This site is here to support writers, not condemn them, and neither Bob nor I will allow it to denigrate into a battlefield.

~Predec2

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Nichelle. It took me a while to answer the more recent reviews of this story and I wanted to come up with the right words for yours. I understand the conflict that this story brings to B/J shippers but I think it's important to remember that both this story AND the show are fictional and, while it is totally okay to feel the need to choose a side or not like this story's plot, it is also important to remember that the author is a real human being. And I completely understand defending characters. I did it with that person's review. But I feel that I did it for different reasons than she did when it came to her complaints. I feel that Nathan could represent a certain percentage of survivors and it isn't right to tell a survivor to get over himself. And not because it will hurt Nathan. Nathan is a figment of my imagination. But because it can hurt readers who have gone through similar things. It's a poisonous viewpoint and I am personally glad to have my defensiveness justified by your counterargument. I can't promise that she saw it, but I hope that if she did, then it gave her something to think about. If her claim is true, then I hope she realizes that not everyone can "get over themselves" as quickly as she assumably was able to.

I understand constructive criticism but facing THIS kind of petulant behavior is very trying. I know you have faced similar things with SLA and it really isn't fair. I try to take it as a compliment is some ways. Obviously the story is making them feel. But you can also understand how frustrating it is.

Now onto your first paragraph!

I think it's okay to feel torn! It's an upsetting time for Justin and Brian and Eric are extremely happy with their own lives. And I think you are right when it comes to Justin thinking of himself as a fixer. Even I can't truly imagine how he feels right now. I think he logically knows that Nathan needs to fix himself more than he was able to. Like the saying goes, you must love yourself before you can be loved by others. While I don't think you can't be loved if you don't love yourself, I think that a relationship can only be successful if you get to the point where you are at peace and can be on your own. You shouldn't just survive off of one person's love and praise. You need to be able to be an individual in order to be confident. Nathan had that in some aspects (like his talent) before he met Justin, but when it came to his personal life, he didn't. So I think that, after the hurt starts to die down a little, he is going to aim for that. It will be a rough road though and, of course, this isn't the last you have seen of Justin and Nathan. Their relationship isn't cleanly cut off by any means. They are too close for that and they love each other too much. But I think that, when they become friends and fall into becoming comfortable with that, they will be extremely close.

And I think Justin should have a child too! I think he's financially stable and confident enough to raise a baby by himself. It isn't ideal when it comes to his personal goals, but there's no need to wait and keep hoping. That way, when the right man comes along, Justin will know that he and his child are accepted.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, Nichelle. It truly means a lot.

Hi, Kim! I also thank you for your input. My comment section can get a little heated but I hope this was directed more towards other reviewers rather than Nichelle. What the reviewer said was insensitive and I know it upset Nichelle greatly, since we were talking when it popped up. It got us both a little angry but I think she handled her response well (albeit with a lot of passion ;)) And I completely agree. Next time I will just delete them. I usually do with my hateful comments but sometimes when I feel that the reviewer is toeing the line, saying something troubling, or there's just a misunderstanding, I want to make my counterpoint. Sometimes it starts a good conversation and sometimes the returning comment is even more shocking or combative. This story definitely gets some surprising responses.

HEY YOU!!!!!!!!when I was five I was abuse and raped by my uncle for 12yrs so I know what he's going through. So I'm sorry I offended you and your "fanfiction" character

Author's Response:

I'm sorry for what you went through but I would think you would empathize rather than say he needed to get over himself. You have to realize how rude that sounds, even if it is over a fictional character. I have no way of knowing who a victim is when it comes to anonymous comments online and who isn't but I am trying to defend the ones who may be reading this story and could identify with Nathan. You aren't insulting a fictional character. But saying a character who is facing real life issues should get over himself isn't in your best interest or in the interest of other abuse victims. It sends off a signal that people think that abuse can just be completely overcome in a few short years. That's usually not the case.
