I really enjoyed this. I loved the way you wrote this from Justin's POV, it was a nice change from the norm. You managed to turn a story of sexual moments into so much more. For me sex is only truly sexy when it has some emotional context. I'm glad that came through for you :) And I'm a big fan of Justin topping/Brian bottoming as well. I think it's a really big deal for Brian and really demonstrates his trust and willingness to be vulnerable.

Beautiful, beautiful imagery! I love the concept here, and this is the first one I have seen that's been written with attention and depth! Very well done! Some great lines in here- I love the casual way Justin realizes once again that he's gay, and your description of everyone he sees on Liberty Avenue; I could picture him trying to figure out whether the people walking past him were men or women. But him making love to Brian and showing him the depth of his love was the icing on the cake for me. You could picture Brian relaxing as he finally comes to realize that Justin isn't going to give up on him. I also love the attention to detail with Brian denying himself on account of having his heart broken. As I keep saying, him being a bottom is a BIG DEAL! LOL! Excellent writing, well done!
Author's Response: It is a big deal! I would've liked to see it happen again during the show - perhaps when they get back together after Ethan or, even better, the last night they spend together before Justin leaves for NYC. But I imagine Brian was already feeling pretty vulnerable and couldn't take it any further that night.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I've been meaning to write a First Time story for a while, but I didn't want to get into the whole Gus thing - not because it's not important, but I'd rather have the focus be on the sex, which is just as momentous in many ways, at least for Justin.

It's so hot and so sweet! And I like the fact that you portrayed Justin as finally accepting Brian as he is, because I always thought that in the end, for example Brian's tricks shouldn't really matter - they come and go, don't come and stay, and change nothing about Brian's feelings for Justin.
(Which reminded me of the fact that I somehow find the "Are you coming or going?..." questions in 1.1. as a kind of trailer to the whole story, but that's another thing.

I like to think they eventually reached a middle ground with Brian's tricking with Justin realizing it's not a threat to their relationship and Brian cutting back a bit. You get the sense during the show that he tricks every day. It seems like he could demonstrate respect for Justin's feelings by cutting it back to, say, every other day as a gesture of understanding. But, yeah, I never see Brian being monogamous - or Justin really wanting him to.

I thought this was a really nice story. I thought the way you told the story from Justin's POV gave a new and interesting narrative of their meeting, even though it's something that we've seen written many times. The way you depicted Justin also gave him a little more depth as an adult (almost) and as a gay man. And even though you mostly wrote the story about them having sex, somehow you made it very much about them and their larger relationship too. Great job.

I love writing sex, but it's always sexier if there's some context around it. I've always wondered why it was that particular night out of all others that Justin visited Liberty Avenue. Fate, perhaps? I like to think so :)

I'm very glad you enjoyed this story. I love writing gap-fillers for Season One. In general, I write more often from Justin's POV than Brian's. I'm not sure why. I think maybe that I can relate to Justin's perspective more easily than I can relate to Brian's who's kind of intimidating to write.
