Even after the party there is a lot going on for our not so small but loving family - I begin to see B&J, John, Peter with Jen, Tucker and Molly, Alice and Charles as a whole family. They will stand together nearly everything!
I never give up hope for Claire - maybe she will find in prison some counseling to understand and one day take responsibility.
San Francisco will bring fun for our boys - I heard saying it´s the town with a good gay culture, so Peter will see lots of gay couples on the street like his uncles.
What´s about Red&Blake and the little girl? I´m sure you have something in storage....so let´s have an next-chapter-party soon! Congrats - you just made 70! Please do at least 100 - I need it!
Author's Response: Julia, my friend, always look forward to hearing from you. I think you are right we are seeing a family group come together. Grandmom Jen will make sure they stay out of trouble. Prison really may be a good thing for Claire and help her realize her troubles are mostly caused by herself.
If you are looking for gay guys San Fran is a good spot to find them for sure. John and Peter have never been anywhere so I'm sure they will enjoy SF, it is an amazing city to visit. Thanks for the last couple of chapters. I am surprised that
after all this time and all that has happened, both Lindsey and
Claire haven’t somewhat improved or maybe just mellowed.
After all, they are two very important people to this story. But
no, as Claire is a worse person than I had thought. I somehow
assumed that without Tino, and no drugs, should would be
different. As for Lindsey, she is the bitch we thought she was.
No Improvement there at all. I am not sure there is any hope
for her.
As far as the story getting old and stale, that just won’t
happen. I think one reason is the characters we enjoy hearing
about. Even Tucker has a nice part in the family structure. My
feeling is that as long as you keep writing about these people,
you will have an interested audience.

Both she and Lindsay view themselves as victims but the wrold at large does not agree. I certainly not liking Lindsay's attitude, she should thank Brian and Justin for all the financial supports instead of being bitchy lol, and I'm sure Claire won't rest her case, she will keep providing drama for B/J household, and surprisingly i'm liking it, it gives dynamic to B/J relationship as well because Claire is Brian's dear sister, not to mention that I guess Joan also will annoy Brian more with her values.

Thank you for a wonderful update! I can't belive Claire is still playing the victim card. Lindsey is such a BITCH--she thinks Brian and Justin should give her money for a new wardrobe buy her a car and take care of her like a queen. I was so glad Brian quickly put a squash on that. Melanie appreciates everything he has done for her and the kids and the fact he loves Jenny just like Gus making sure they have the same advantages. I was so glad when Brian pointed out how sucessful Justin is as an artist. So glad Jen is going to go to grandparents day, she has so much love to give and I am glad she is giving the little boy a grandparent at last. Thanks so much, more please.

Basically I think Lindsay really wants to be Mrs Brian Kinney and is frustrated because that will never happen. B&J have to put up with her for Gus's sake. I'm sure Grandmom Jen is enjoying all her "grandsons" and they are enjoying her. Family doesn't have to be defined by blood ties. Happy you are still enjoying the story. I also like to read the other reviews, and I agree that you should write about Justin's show. Maybe something about the flight attendant that Justin gave the business card to, his family could be rich and hire Justin for a commission (but not something that would take him away from home).
Also, I love Brian's little dig to Lindsay about how much Justin makes on his art.

Lindsay never gives up and that was a very low blow about asking Justin for a car because they got Daphne one. Apparently she thinks they have never done anything for her. Glad Brian reminded her.

Can't believe Claire thinks she did nothing wrong and yet is probably expecting Brian to get her off and out of jail.

Another amazing chapter and so much happened I don't know where to start. John and Peter realizing they are home and it's a safe and happy place to be. Claire thinking there was a way to get a better deal deal until how truly shitty of a parent she is was thrown in her face. Greg realizing that the job would only be his if Justin agreed and then doing something about it. Justin and Peter finally on their way to San Fransico I am thinking the way his Uncles travel is not going to be anything like what their friends told them traveling was like because they go first class all the way and this trip is going to be a lot of fun if they just sit back and enjoy. Then there is Lindsay still demanding things she does not deserve she is not the wife she is an employee and at the moment not even a very good one it makes me wonder if she will try to use Gus not necessarily by withholding him more by talking when he is around so he tells Brian and Justin innocently what he has overheard. I can't wait to read about Justin show and the whole trip to San Francisco but I am also looking forward to hearing a bit about Johns cooking classes and what he has learned. Oh yeah when Hal find out Greg got his old job I wonder how that's going to play out. Can't wait for the next chapter debated challenging you for the next one but I kind of like the surprise of just seeing something appear here's hoping its soon Thanks again for continuing my favorite story

How many times B&J had this type of conversation with Lindsay ? Grrr ! Talking to her is like talking to Claire or Joan. They don't listen. B&J shouldn't bother anymore.
Melanie has a tast of what it was like years ago when she was the one always against Brian and Lindsay was in the middle. I just want her to stop letting Lindsay's behavior making things worst.

Claire tried everything to try and look like a victim. It was good that she didn't fool her attorney. I wonder what was in the letter she wrote?
Greg made a good decision to talk with Justin and apologize. I think he'll do a great job for Kinnetic.
How nice that Jennifer is going to Kevin's school. Now she's grandmother to Gus, JR, John, Peter and Kevin. She's definately more loved than Joan is.

I didn´t miss Lindsay in this chapter one bit! You brought up every other bad guy or girl like Claire, Craig.
I wondered why our boys might need a refrigerator to lock up - with Joe, the bully I unterstood - you better take no risk! I also had some hope John might have a girl invited...well, not really with all the boys around there. You mentioned once a girl and I don´t give up hope to "meet" her some time ;))

My Lindsay will not be as obsessed as in some stories. She and Mikey aren't evil they just can't accept they Brian has chnaged and they aren't number one in his life any more. I think that happens sometimes when someone gets "married" their friends have trouble accepting the new person in their life. I enjoyed the new chapter. That stupid kid Joe Harkins is ill mannered and a bully and I wished he had been sent home, he needs guidence he also needs to have his parents know that behavior isn't accepted at Britian, school, or the soccer field. I'm sorry to hear that Claire might be able to make a deal, she gets so many breaks and doesn't appreciate any of them. Wow party time was almost more than I expected. I am just glad it was such a good experience for John now to your little hidden bits in this story Mikey is actually going to spend money on his child I am shocked and amazed. Craig agreeing to a look at his books umm why do I see this going really wrong really fast when the accountants are done. Plea deal for Claire I admit I was thinking Peter would testify against her but I also saw that not being so good for him maybe this plea is the best thing 5 years should make Brian and Justin getting custody almost a done deal providing they don't get a homophobic judge. I eagerly await your next chapter hope it appears soon. Thanks for continuing this great story I love it.

Mikey was proud to announce he was buying his daughter some school clothes, didn't really think about the fact that B&J are paying the tuition. I think Justin's problems with Greg have nothing to do with the job he would do and everything to do with the fact that Justin will not be needed as much to fix things. I thought it was sweet the idea of Jennifer going to Kevins grandparents day. 35 people at that party at some point Brian will hide even if its just in his study. I guess Mel is not working at all till the kids start school. I like that Mel is doing the Gus drop because I think if it were Lindsay Brian might kill her. I think Ted and Blake are going to do great with Nina and I see a Nina and JR playdate coming soon. I am sorry your muse caught the vius Linds tried to give Gus I will mail it some chicken soup. Can't wait to read about the party and the Art Director choice but I would like Justin to tell Brian about his doubts and why he has them. How long until they get a custody hearing date i guess after the art show I am looking forward to reading that. Just FYI even though your muse wandered away this was a great chapter and i go back to eagerly awaiting the next one.

This was a really good chapter with lots of interaction. The interview with Greg was interesting, since you decided not to make him a sure thing. But I still think he's a better fit than the other guy.
John's party with 35 people can be intimidating. I'm sure that in his life John didn't have very many friends nor has he ever had a party. Claire didn't seem the type to do something like that. What you have planned should be really interesting.
Then there is Lindsay and her attempt to use Gus to get her way with Brian. With Melanie in their corner, I don't see anything Linds tries working.
Teddy Man and Nina seem a really good match. Blake with his experience with siblings will help make this new family dimention a winner.
All and all I can't wait for another chapter. I'm hooked on this story.

Ted And Blake with a little girl wow I guess Gus and JR. are going to have new playmate at school. I lime that John and Peter are starting to feel confidant enough to express their own opinions even over something as simple as clothing it's a good start. Wow Tim did absolulty no research on the company he was interviewing with not realizing Cynthia's position I might have understood but completely discounting Justin makes no sense unless all you knew is that the day to day operations of Kinnetic were run by Brian that whole interview was weird. I liked how Justin kept his word to Brian that they would still have dinner just the 2 of them although I see that maybe only a few night of every week I think they are going to enjoy some of the dinners where it all 4 of them especially as Peter and John become more willing to share what is happening in the world from the articles they are reading and what will be happening at school. I look forward to Gregs interview. The begging portion of this review starts now 2 weeks is way to long to wait for the next chaper any chance we could see the next chapter let's say tomorrow (Sunday). I liked how this chapter brought in some Ted and Blake it was a nice glimpse into their lives. now I go back to the daily/hourly check for the next chapter of my this my favorite story......

John and Peter are feeling more secure so they are able to give their uncles a little shit and not worry about getting put out of their new home. Nina and JR are about the same age in my QAF world so you are back in my mind. I think Tim thought Brian would be thrilled to hire someone who working for a big NYC ad agency. He was just too cokcy for his own good. Only room for one alpha dog at Kinnetik.
It ws not a full teo weeks between updates but it was a long time. I guess a decline in number of reviews didn't inspire me to write faster. I am so loving this story it's as addictive as m &m's I'm so glad John got both of his wishes even if doesn't realize it. Joan attended his birthday dinner and the she saw the love that everyone there had for her two grandsons. How easy the hugs and the kisses came from the entire group to John and Peter and the love the boy's returned at will. She won't admit it now but her talk with Father Bolton showed she noticed everything I was so glad when Father Bolton told her she was old and lonely and that it was her own fault, she never gave love only judgements on others.

Great chapter.
Charlie's comparison of children and plants was very interesting.
I'm glad that Joan saw how happy and comfortable the boys are with the family. Now if she could just see past her views and realize that this is the best home for them.

I can't tell you how delighted I was to find another chapter of your story posted! Joan has a very narrow point of view in her life. Life Father Bolton said, God has nothing to do with her being alone. She obviously has never read the new testament and clings to the old. If suicide were not a sin, I think Joan would consider it. Joan, of course acted like an ass, I had hoped she would view the love between John and Peter and their family members. Another great chapter.
Very sweet how concerned the boys were about Justin's hand, they have changed so much being with real parents.
I just love Justin's sketches and Brian's reaction to them.
When Brian went to introduce his mother to Justin's family I had an image of Brian grabbing her by the scruff of her neck to get her to walk over to them.
Good for Charlie, putting her in her place about the food. Love Jennifer's comments to Joan, especially the one about no one being gayer than Brian. I wonder if Joan will really think about what was said to her and change the way she sees her son and son-in-law.
Not looking forward to seeing this story end, it is just too good.

thank you for this chapter it was amazing. Lots of Brian and Justin sex is always a good thing. I really liked some of the little things of this chapter John making breakfast for Brian and Justin. the ping pong tournament until Justin's hand started to hurt, pool volleyball that Justin won again, getting Thai for lunch and ordering Pizza. And then there was the birthday dinner. I had a feeling Joan was just holding it in till she finished her free meal and I was right she really does not understand when people love each other regardless of them being both men because she has never seen it. The family that Brian and Justin have put together first with Alice and Charlie and now with John and Peter make no sense to Joan that there is love there by all of them including Jennifer is something Joan does not understand. When Joan had her family and her children it was an obligation and a duty it's why she stayed in her bad marriage and why one child turned out the way she did the other Brian realized he wanted out and figured out how to do it then he met Justin who taught him how to love and be loved. Joan does not understand being in a relationship where there is love and fun and happiness because she has never seen it and even though it's her son living it she can't be happy for him. I guess Joan is leaving right after dessert unfortunately I doubt she will truly grasp why she was there. John got great birthday presents. Some of the little things of this chapter that help the whole story move Peter finding out he is leaving early with Justin, John doing a spreadsheet of who is attending his party did Peter help with that. I loved this chapter thanks again for writing it so quickly. Look no begging.....

I enjoy putting the fluff - the "little things" - in the story. It makes it seem more like real life to me. Although I don't like the characther of Joan I do feel sorry for her. She did not have a good life and she clings to her religion and her idea of how people should be but it doesn't make her happy. Um wow Lindsay is looking really stupid once again it makes wonder how big the fight she and Mel will have either in the car or back at the loft. Nobody makes me angrier than Lindsay except maybe Michael, but even he doesn't think Brian owes him a living. Thank you for your latest chapter. I was thrilled John passed his test, he needs and deserves to have something good happen to him, hopefully permanent custody to Brian and Justin included. I was surprised and really pleased by the actions of Brian who called his mother and offered a car service to pick her up and return her home when ever she chose from the party perhaps a small truce I hope. Well the BITCH is back and in true form, she needs support for food, reminded she gets a paycheck now for that she decides getting a new clothes, it's all about her not Mel or the kids. I really like Mel she tries and appricates everything the guys have done. Lindsay caused this mess and everyone has to put up with her bad attitude and ungreatful treatment.

I was tickled to death to see another chapter!!! That John would do well is no surprise. He's a smart kid. In spite of Brian being reluctant to invite Joan, he went over and above because John want it. How cool is that. I'm hoping that everything for perminant custody goes as smoothly.
JR has no complaints about playing with John and Peter. Thank goodness she's too young to know that her dad is unable to contribute to supporting her.
Now about Lindsay. Her suggesting that Justin needs Brian's approval to do anything is outrages and I'm happy that Brian told her so. Then she tries to renig on the custody agreement. What a jerk. Even Mel said they would have Gus on weekends. Finally she has the nerve to ask for support payments! Because she wanted to by clothing rather then food! Poor Melanie, it looks like her salary will be feeding the family while Lindsay spends hers on clothing.

Wow Michael is an idiot and with Alice and Jennifer on him look out. Wonder when you will give Lindsay a chance to be just as stupid as Michael. I started reading this before but didn't know where I left off, so I started at the beginning.

You know reading your reviews are almost as much fun as reading the story. But the story comes first. I can picture Lindsay, her nose in the air as she tries to tell Justin how his gallery should be run. LOL. Can't wait to see what you have planned.

Your story just gets better and better. Peter certainly showed his love for his uncles and how strong he is in emergences. Lindsay is just sad so self centered never asking about Justin , and good old Alice and her spicey sauce, bet she like to give Lindsay and Joan a spicey enema. Keep your wonderful chapter coming, I'm hooked.

Beautifully written chapter.
Took me a while to read it though because I was crying through most of it. So glad Justin and Peter are alright. I love how they reassured Peter that what happened was not his fault.

Another great chapter, Bill! Loved how Peter had the presence of mind to do what he needed to do to protect his uncle, and how everyone came together to support Justin. Loved how Brian was so commanding here, and how Cynthia & Ted came to his rescue at Kinnetik.
So many things to like in this chapter! Now can Joan just drink herself to death and be done with it? (Sorry, got carried away - ha!). Of course that meant I had to stay up past my bedtime last night to polish & post the update since I promised to do it quickly. LOL

After reading the newest chapter two times... it was too delicious how everything worked out. It´s phantastic! Can´t get enough. I think I´ll reread it again and again..
Everything is already mentioned by my fellow readers out there. I loved the appearance of Carl, laughed when Charles got his shotgun (just normal in american houses-hehe), the hot sauce bottles all over the house, Peter, the hero throwing himself in Brian´s arms, his fear to loose his new home etc. As always precious moments in the story, which I appreciate so much.
Even though the crime is over, I´m already looking forward your next one: The nephews will struggle for some time with everything that happened to their disfunctional mother. It might hurt them once again.

Everything has been said about Claire and Tino so I'll just shake my head head at Lindsay. Hope she gets her just desserts soon, now that Claire is getting hers. And Joan's worst nightmare coming true with the neighbors seeing their dirty laundry. HeeHee.
