Well, Lindsay failed so far making her family co-addicts - it´s time to wake up befor it´s too late. Will she end up in prison or a facility, still hoping Brian will come to her rescue? I hope he will do nothing!

Craig at the exposition, I´m not quite sure: Is he serious, perhaps lonely or is trouble around? J&B don´t need trouble!
The boys are back to school, finally. I hope we will have fun, new friends...the uncles will have their hands full.

Author's Response: Hello my friend, always so happy to hear from you. I don't see Lindsay in prison but she is certainly headed for trouble. I don't think her parents are going to cope with her very well. JR is a little girl who knows her own mind. No way was she agreeing to cheap furniture for her dollhouse. I don't think her Dad will have a lot of luck getting her to think badly about Uncle Jus. I think you are correct the uncles will have a lot to deal with because they have Gus and hus school to contend with as well. Gad you are still enjoying the story. Hope your new job goes smoothly. Lindsay's acting 'true to form' - I like how her mother told her off - about time. Love how all the boys are great with the kids - Ted showing patience with Nina - I can see that - Ted always had hidden depths that others didn't see at first because of his quiet demeanour. Love Jennifer's 'first school morning breakfast and photos. I wish my mother had done that for me and although I did the photos first day of school, I never thought to do a first breakfast - wish I had - wonderful idea.
Author's Response: I don't think anyone would describe Nancy Peterson as overly maternal and she is more feeling than her husband. Wonder why Lindsay has so many issues??? It's a mystery for sure. I agree 1,000% with you about Ted. I always thought he was a very caring person. Jennifer is really enjoying being Grandmom Jen and the boys are enjoying having her in their lives. To be honest my family didn't do pictures or breakfasts for first days of shcool but it seemed like something Jennifer would have done with her own children. You do a wonderful job of displaying the love between Justin and Brian, between Gus and his dad, Peter and John with their cousin and uncles, and the rest of the extended family.
I am wondering what will happen with Lindsay and the teaching job. If she applies and gets the job, I'm guessing she won't be able to hold onto it. She's not at all ready to acknowledge and address her addiction.

Author's Response: I suspect Lindsay may get that teaching job for a short time. I used to love those big boxes of Crayola crayons that had the sharpener in the back of the box. Such great colors like blue-green and green-blue, yellow green and green yellow. I thought markers were more up to date for Gus. Special breakfast for first day of school just seemed like such a Jennifer thing to do. I think you are correct about Nina getting a new friend. Thanks for your nice comments. Getting ready for the first day of school was well planned. They even got a great breakfast out of it. I bet this was the first time anyone made a fuss over John and Peter going to school. Grandma Jen is quite the super mom. Lindsey is not going to be able to waste her days if her mom and dad have anything to say about it. It looked like Ted was unsure about how the neighbor was going to react to Nina. Love how Ted was better at working with Nina then Blake. Yet another great chapter.
Author's Response: My friend, you know I am always happy to see your review. Glad you liked this chapter. Grandmom Jen is trying her best to make up for the bad times in John and Peter's life. She had to get up really early to be at the house in time to make breakfast. I think Ted was wary about why the neighbor suddenly decided to pay attention to them. Turns out it was a good thing. Brian and Justin sex the best part of the whole chapter no Michael at all, cute Nina Blake and Ted no Michael Jennifer obviously doing something she did for Justin and Molly to establish something good for first day of school mostly for John and Peter but also for Gus along with the pictures that every parent that loves their child takes no Michael. I saw in a review you were considering no baby I really want baby but then I never want this to end and baby means there is more and more to write about not there isn't tons without baby but with the mind boggles and to think you could do whole chapter then where all you talk about is Brian Justin John Peter Gus and baby or like I keep dreaming babies and no Michael. I was so excited to see an update on this! It seems that the Petersen's are just about at their wits end with Lindsay.hopefully she realizes that she can't keep going this way...it's not fair to her son nor her parents. On the plus side, I would give my right arm to have had that breakfast. Jennifer has gone above and beyond to make sure the boys feel loved and safe. Brian and Justin have really lucked out in the love department.

Lindsay is certainly cleverly manipulative about her addiction. Since she doesn't believe she has a problem, it's clearly going to be a while before she deals with her addiction. Her parents, in the meantime, are happy to be manipulated.
Always heartwarming to watch Brian and Justin's relationship get deeper and stronger. I like the idea of contagious protectiveness. :)

After a not so pleasant day at work I felt like cheering like Gus does when I found this new chapter waiting. Such a pleasure to read. Could Lindsay's parents be more gullible? Lindsay is a piece of work. Talk about delusional. Which, of course, reminds me of Michael. He is so immature. I guess Michael is the child that Ben never had. How else could he tolerate him? Gus and Kevin are so cute together. I liked seeing Brian so engaged in their soccer game. Was worried about Justin's near panic attack...did not realize he still had those residual issues. Author's Response: I agree that Lindsay's parents wanted her story to be true, so they could feel their daughter was the victim. Lindsay may slide a little deeper into her own reality before she is done. Mikey is pretty adverse to any change. Ben seems to accept the good with the bad and realizes that Mikey's obsession is Brian is completely one sided. I agree B&J have built a very nice life for themselves. Lots going on in this chapter! Impressive. How you keep track of everyone & their story lines is beyond me. I imagine a wall in your house that's filled with charts, names, arrows etc... ;)
I'm interested to see where things go with Lindsey and her parents. Naturally she lied through her teeth. Sadly though, it was an entirely plausible explanation for those who don't know teh situation. Wonder how long until they see what's really happening. How far will Lindsey try to take this BS scenario and what will happen once she's found out.
Micheal actually made me laugh. He is just so insecure...such a petualnt child. will he ever grow up?
I just love the interactions between B&J and their friends. You've had them create such a home. A great family!! Now...for Wednesday's dinner with Em & "Rusty" hehe. We'll see if he get's Brian's stamp of approval.
All in all a great chapter as per usual. Was once again thrilled to see it there upon arriving at work. My work computer is bigger than the one at home...that's my excuse!! ;)

I can't believe how conniving Lindsay is - her parents certainly got suck in. Hopefully she'll show her true colours and her parents will 'get a clue'... Still want to slap Michael - nothing new there - Ben's idea of the furniture being good birthday and Christmas presents is spot on - I used to do that with lego for my kids - plus it makes the kids appreciate the toy and have something to look forward to. Brian is so good with the boys and Justin is so good with Brian..... great chapter - looking forward to the next one.

I can't get over how devious Lindsay is. She purposely spouted bull shit to her parents and they bought it. Then you have Mikey who feels that the cheap furniture he wanted JR to have is better then the nice furniture Justin got for her. It's good that Ben is there to reign Mikey in. Author's Response: My friend, no chapter is complete until I hear from you. Lindsay came up with a pretty good story, totally based on lies, but a good story. Her parents so want to believe their daughter is the victim. I don't think that illusion will last very long but all three are happy with it at the moment. Mikey tried his best, going for the pink crappy doll furniture but JR didn't fall for it. Ben is always the voice of reason. I think Em & Rusty may turn out to be well matched but who knows???? So I gather killing Lindsay and Michael is out of the question. I want Lindsay parents to catch her stealing stuff out of the house since it may be the only way they realize Brian was telling the truth. But my favorite part was Justin at the gallery talking about how crowds still make him uncmfortable when Brian is not around. That was just a little sweet add on. I love your fic, but it just keeps going in circles with Lindsay and Michael getting away with the things they say and do and never getting any real comeuppance or self awareness. How many time do we have to hear about how Justin is to blame for everything and Justin is spending Brian's money? That record is broken. Time to throw it out.
I love bashing Lindsay and Michael as much as the next person, but wouldn't it be more fun to read about their misery if they finally acknowledge to themselves that Justin is rich and successful in his own right and hate him for that insead of the same old song?
I'm sorry if it's too critical, but it's been 89 chapters and over 300k words and I just want to read something else other than "Justin is spending Brian's money. Justin is soing things without Brian's permission." from those two.
Author's Response: Good feedback, thanks. I am trying to do a little something different with Lindsay that may change her behavior in the future. She is having actual mental issues that cloud her thinking and she will need help to recover. The thing with Michael is that he never changes so his story never changes. I truly believe there are people like that in real life. I really do appreciate your different view and I will give your ideas some thought. In your last response to me you asked if I had read Predec2 stories. I've read a lot of her work and since I'm dog lover her Tricky series was a delight. I try to look a posts of many new authors, that's how I found you! I think my first review was for Moonshadow Woman's Broken Angel it was so good I had to let her know how much I enjoyed it, there are many authors I always read : Tagset, Ispazz, and 7wildways, and the story on updates The Intrudner. I read as much as five to eight hours each day, HOO RAY FOR RETIREMENT! The only stories I won't even check out are vampire and major death fics, just not my thing. It seems MW has something for everyone and I enjoyed so much to have something is constantly changing and challanging.

Sorry Bill I forgot something, even though there are some troubles in some of the charactors lives for the most part this story has really been upbeat. It makes you to appreciate the good times and accept some difficulties. I think the most changed is Ted after all he has been thru Brian and Justin truly respect him. Of course Brian and Justin have greatly changed, they grew up and had the sense to move away from the loft that people just walked in at any old time. It's your writing that we are allowed to see the growth or lack of growth of our charactors. They grow with us.

This is a low angst story and those are the ones I enjoyed reading the most so no big surprise that is the kind I write. It was Predec2's stories that inspired me to write my own story. I hope you have read her stories because they are great. Like so many fans I hated the ending of the TV show and always liked to think this is the way B&J would have lived their lives. As you can tell I never liked Lindsay in the show, Michale always kind of orrated me and I always liked the character of Ted and hoped for the best with his relationship with Blake. Great chapter. Nice to see the opening go without a hitch. Definitely a few intersting goings-on, but nothing to disrupt thankfully.
Well...The Peterson's certainly got an eye-opener. I'll be interested to see where things go from there. Do they believe Lindsey's BS or Brian and Jennifer. It wouldn't take much to get either story backed up and for them to see that that Brian and Jennifer are telling the truth, no matter what Lindsey says to them upon any kind of confrontation.
I had a feeling Craig was going to make motions towards reconcilliation. IF he's being forthright and honest, he's going to have an uphill battle. It's going to take a lot for him to get any of them to trust his motivations. It'll be an interesting arc to watch.
Gus Peter and John interactions were all great. Guss thrilled to just be a part of it, Peter putting things into perspective for John, and John understanding that while he definitely appreciates all B/J have done for him, it doesn't hurt to give back as well.
I love opeining up MW and seeing an update from you first thing. Makes my day start so nicely. thank you!!
Author's Response: There was a bunch of stuff going on at the gallery opening but you are correct nothing that disrupted things and most people didn't even notice the drama that was ocurring. Lindsay's interactions with her parents promise to be pretty interesting for sure. You are the first reviewer not to be surprised by Craig showing up at the gallery. I agree it will be an uphill battle for Craig with Brian at the top of the hill throwing rocks at him. Hi Bill, Was so glad to see your lastest chapter. I was afraid someone would try to ruin the opening and was happy it was sucess. I was surprised the Peterson's attended the opening and was glad Brian told them the truth about their daughter just wondered why all of a sudden Nancy wanted a kiss from Gus, I think maybe to impress others. Jen was right there by Gus's side if need be. mikey wasn't there, acting like the two year old he is but I'm sure he would have made a scene just to hurt Justin. I though Peter telling his brother that they were so lucky to have their uncles and reminded him how much they were loved, glad John woke up realized Peter was right. Then Craig walked in. I was sort a happy he saw his son was a sucess, no thanks to him. Molly let him know just because he was ready to be in his life, that was not going to be a easy as easy as he thought. He had left a heart broken son with no support, and blamed the one man that saw Justin's pain and loved him and took care of him. Every chapter just gets better and better. Please more chapters.

I think Lindsay put her parents on the guest list when she worked at the gallery and they made plans to get together with friends there. Nancy likes to think of herself as a "loving gradmother" but I don't think she has Gus convinced. I'm pretty sure Justin was just as happy that Mikey did not attend, one less ossue to deal with. Peter has gotten more confident since coming to live with the uncles. Molly told her father the truth and I'm sure that was hard for him to hear. When did Peter get to be the smart, sensible brother. Love how he told John to suck it up. Gus certainly enjoyed having John's help with the tags, it was nice that he had a job to do and made him feel grown up. Boy, Lindsey's parents got an earful from Brian. I wonder if they check when they go home to see if anything is missing? Then the surprise of the evening - Craig showed up. Molly and Jennifer really told him off, but I think he just might have a clue now. Thank you for such a lovely chapter!
Author's Response: Everyone needs a reality check once in a while and Peter provided that for his big brother. Peter showing a little more self confidence than in the past. Gus likes to help and likes to spend time with his cousins so his gallery job was made to order for him. Lindsay's parents' really got an eye opener from Brian. Of course any discussions they have with Lindsay may have to take place through a bolted door. I think you are correct Craig may just have gotten a small clue about ehat he needs to do if he wants to get back on good terms with his family. The questions is what will he do now?

So many great moments in this chapter. Peter reminding John of all they have with the uncles, Jennifer using her WASP skills to skewer the Petersens, with the Brian no words minced follow-up (loved!), and Gus--so adorable all through the chapter. I was kind of disappointed not to see Kevin at the opening, but then you totally fixed it with arranging the lunch the next day. You surprised me with Craig's appearance at the opening. Molly really hit the nail on the head when she explained her perception of his actions to Craig. Is Craig really going to try to be a father again? I don't trust him. Have to love scary Jennifer. Justin is so lucky to have both Brian and Jennifer protecting him. I always enjoy the B&J interaction...so nice to see so much love and respect. Well, it was nice of Craig to act civilized and realizing his mistake. Then he lost some points with that remark about Justin needing Brian's permission. I found this chapter to be sort of depressing John being schooled by Peter on why their life was so much better living with Brian and Justin instead of their mother and Paul. Nancy and Ron Peterson learning about Lindsay's transgressions having nothing to do with show setup, gambling, and stealing. I admit I have no actual idea what they were doing there unless they were the guests of the others they mentioned. Last Craig I felt bad for Justin having to deal with him on his opening night for the gallery, though I did like Molly putting her father in his place. I think the cuddling scene with Brian and Gus and Justin was the happy place I kept waiting for the whole chapter. I can't wait for the first day of school and the little beg I knew you were waiting for can that be soon pretty please
Author's Response: Wow sorry to depress you, it did have a happy ending. I thnk everyone needs a wake up calll once in a while and Peter provided that to his brother. I'm pretty sure Lindsay put her parents on the list of invited guests when she worked at the gallery. They believed her stories so would have shown up to try and make Justin uneasy about unfairly firing Lindsay. Didn't work out the way they expected. I think Craig meant well but was disappointed that he was not welcomed with open arms. Molly gave him the wale up call he needed. I have a very silly excuse for not posting thsi chapter sooner. I must have pulled a muscle in my side and it is very uncomfortable to sit up straight. So I can only type for short periods of time. I told you it was a a silly reason!

Brian and Justin totally are in sync to each other. Brians's protective love is just that a giant hug of love and support. Craig still didn't get it even after Justin told him and he saw Brian and Justin interacting he still thought Brian ruled Justin. This chapter had everyone protecting Brian and Justin. Peter talking to John and explaining some home truths, Justin protecting Brian from Craig, Brian protecting Justin from Craig. Jennifer protecting Gus and Brian from Lindsay's parents and Craig! and Molly protecting Justin and Brian from Craig. And Alice listening in ready to intervene if needed to protect her little brood if needed
Author's Response: Jennifer has said it before, Brian and Justin are true soulmates. Craig just can't accept the truth about Justin and Brian's relationship. Just show that he has a lot of work to do before he could become a part of their lives. He might surprise us?? I think that is what families do they look out for each other. Whew! Finally got a chance to get caught up on your wonderful story, Bill! Not sure which one I find more abhorrent in the past few chapters - Lindsay, Michael, or Craig. Is it odd, though, that Craig here is probably the least offensive in a way? And I think I would just call Michael deluded, however annoying he is, so I think Lindsay gets my vote. I'm trying to be sympathetic toward her in light of what I see as an addiction, but she needs to help herself a little here and get her priorities in order, and she is woefully lacking in that at the moment, so it's hard to feel sorry for what she has brought upon herself.
And now that the custody issue has been resolved, there is a little one about to enter the picture. So this is going to be 200 chapters now? Ha! I would not be surprised! Congrats again on all the accolades - this is a richly interwoven story. Thanks. ~Kim

I just realized that with Lindsay locked inside the bedroom, how are her parents suppose to show and sell the house? Interestin, you see Michael as clueless and I see him as
(mildly) delusional. After a long chat with Ben, the outcome is
that Michael will keep JR away from Justin. As far as I can see,
B&J will probably see less of Michael. To me that is a good
thing. Given the good relationship between Mel and
Brian/Justin, JR will see lots of Justin.
Now it looks like Lindsey has also crossed the line. Locking
herself in her room will certainly make this difficult for her
parents. Just how they are going to handle this will be
interesting. Can Brian help? Would he even want to as she has
turned against Justin.
On a lighter note, many chapters back, didn’t I remember
John meeting a girl and they got along real well. John is such a
good guy, maybe it is time for something special for him.

Author's Response: You know I can't argue with delusional. Mikey refuses to see what everyone else does, that Brian and Justin really love each other. I thubk making things diffcult for the Petersens is a good thing but Lindsay has some MAJOR issues and doesn't seem to be getting any better. I think Lindsay telling Gus lies about Justin kind of eliminates any personal inetrvention from Brian. He will probably provide whatever help he can from a distance for Gus's sake more than anything else.
Now that John and Peter will be starting school John will more opportunity to see Patrice. Will be interesting to see what develops there. Hi Bill, I just keep on loving this story and most of the characters. Lindsey makes me so mad, how she tell Gus that Justin is the reason she's so unhappy, but Gus won't buy that he loves his daddy and papa he's a smart little guy and knows she wasn't happy in Canada either. mikey needs to be placed in the booby hatch, if he has any brains I'm sure he sits on them. I can't believe his response to Justin buying a little bit of doll house furniture to make JR happy, she won't like being kept a way from Brian and Justin she loves them both, not for what they buy her, but for how they treat her. I thought Ted did a really great job when he had his meeting with Craig, I don't think he has any idea how sucessful his son is. I wish he could be civil to Brian and Justin they didn't have to help him, they don't need his gratatitude just being civil to them is all Brian wants for Justin.

The person she is hurting the most is her self but i think she would like other people to be as unhappy as she is feeling. I thought Brian and Justin did a good job dealing with all of Gus' questions about his new living arrangements. I wouldn't have guessed that Lindsay would put a bolt on the bedroom door. WOW! I was not expexting to see an update so quickly! this started my day off incredibly well. thank you. I was thrilled!!
Some day I'm sure Mikey will get his cummupance, and I'm not sure all his relationships will stay intact. I have to say though, I'm enjoying his journey into the duldrums. HAHA, I'm such a bitch, but it's fun.

Craig is finally realizing the success of his son. that it's his son's success and not Brian's. Author's Response: There are other reviewers (don't want to name any names they know who they are) who are always urging me to update faster so I finally took pity on them. I like to think that Mikey will always be Mikey. There are so few things that you can absolutely depend on. Mikey being a clueless idiot is one of those constants. Now Lindsay is another story altogether. She has serious issues and I suspect they will get worse before they get better. Gus has a great support system so I'm sure he wil be okay. He knew that Lindsay was unhappy even before they came back to Pittsburgh. Craig doing an about face, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm that might have ocurred to me - stay tuned! Not sure how Justin would deal with having a fther after all this time. I love Ted also and Brian has been a big influence on him. You could see echos of Brian in the way Ted took control of that eeting with Craig.

Great chapter. Michael is an idiot.
Doesn't seem that Lindsay is going to get her act together anytime soon.
Good old Ted - 'stick it to him'........ I had a great laugh over him dealing with Craig. I can just imagine how much Ted would have enjoyed that meeting.
Hopefully the gallery opening will go well but knowing Lindsay and Michael's frame of mind, I imagine things won't be go as smoothly as they should. If they interfere I can see Brian's reactions being explosive and the two self-absorbed idiots won't see it coming - well - it's one way to go......LOL Looking forward to what you devise for us.

As always I was delighted to see another chapter of this story. Looks like Lindsay is going to be out of money shortly. Wonder what happens then. That was very mean of her to tell Gus that Justin was the problem, it's the way she views things that's wrong. Mikey has the same problem, I wonder if it's contagious. I'm really surprised that Craig agreed to Kinney's terms. It would have been funny if Ted took out his cellphone on the pretext of letting Brian know the outcome and took that picture. Do you have something planned for the gallery open? Like Lindsay showing up and making a scene? or Mikey? Love that Ben and Debbie lectured Michael about his attitude, but the fact that he still refuses to believe he's wrong is disturbing.

Maybe Lindsay will win a million dollars and have a wonderful exciting life? Nah, not never happen in my story! Even Gus knows that Justin is not reponsible for his Mommy's problems. He even told her she didn't like her job at the gallery and always complained about it. Craig knew he didn't really have any good alternative. You could see Brian's influence on Ted during his meeting with Craig. A scene at the gallery opening, hmmmmmmmmmmmm Lindsay won't cause one. She is not good at face to face confrontations and she probably knows Jennifer and Alice will be there. They are her kryptonite. I don'tthink Mikey will even attend. so thank you for a new chapter really fast I like it. Michael is an idiot and I find it doubtful that either Ben or Debbie will change that. I hope Michael is not invited to the gallery opening. Lindsay is a mess and I worry about what she says to Gus. My biggest fear is that Lindsay will try to crash the gallery opening. I can see her doing it and Michael helping her try to ruin Justin's night. I am glad Craig realized he has no choice go along or lose everything because Brian and Justin don't care. I can't wait for the boys to start school I think their schedules will drive Brian a little nuts at first especially the back to school night. Just so you know I do try not to be mysterious and this really is my favorite thing to read and reread over and over while I impatiently wait for more. thanks again for the quick chapter hope to see more soon.

The best thing we can say about Mikey is that he consistant. We always know that he will blame Justin for anything he doesn't like. I think Ben understands that and is willing to deal with it but he and Debbie don't want to see Michale pass his irrational behavior on to hsi daughter. I think Lindsay is having too much trouble getting through the day to cause any trouble at the grand opening. Now her parents are a different story?????? I wonder who will dislike parent teacher meeting more - Brian or the teachers he deals with.

Omg we have two dilution all people who are projecting their hate on Justin. Michael and Lindsay are so twisted with hate because they believe Justin has taken Brian away from them. Stupid people they never had him that way and have almost lost what they did have.

Good to see Deb finally putting Micheal in his place. Mind you, I think it has more to do wit hJR than it does Justin, but either way,as long as she starts really seeing Michael for the snivling little twerp he is.

Everyone kind of knows Michael has a blind spot about Justin's relationship with Brian but don't want him involving JR in his silliness. Fantastic update! Nice celebration for John ad Peter along with the change of their last names Happy Debbie is seeing how wrong Mikey is about Justin, also Ben ( always thought Ben was too good, smart and nice toe with Mikey).
Don't think Linz is going to last long at her parents. Just hope she doesn't end up being a surrogate, a surprise one, that has gone through the clinic that Justin and Brian is using. Surly you wouldn't be that mean.

I think they realize how lucky they are to have wound up with the uncles!! Debbie has always had a soft spot for Justin, she was the first to call him Sunshine. I think Ben has accepted Michael's obsession with Brian but, like Debbie, he isn't happy about Michael trash talking Justin to JR. Wow; Lindsay as a surrogate, that would be too weird. I will not be anywhere near that mean. I think Ted knows he is in the driver seat for that meeting and Craig won't have a chance against him. To be honest I kind of let that story line slide but it took a while to get the reports from the accountant and business consultant - that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. Michael has gotten worse. At first while reading this chapter I
wondered why people haven’t just sat him down and
explained to him why he is so wrong. You know, not just that
what he said was wrong, but explain the issue.Then I
remembered in back chapters, people did. Well – Michael has
reached a point where Brian and Justin should wash their
hands of him. Simply put, he is just no good. Sadly he is such
an important character that it is just not possible.
Anyway, we have another line I really enjoyed. They were
going to meet for dinner in a sort of celebration. Sure enough,
so typical of Brian:
Brian frowned. “I hope no one is going to get too
sloppy or sentimental.”
I liked that line a lot. Of course we all know just how happy
Brian was, no one happier than him. In side, though he would
never show it, he was as sloppy and sentimental as anyone.

Author's Response: I think Mikey is incapable of change. He wants to be his 14 year old self when he and Brian were best friends. I never think of him as deliberatley mean just clueless and single minded. He preferred a screwed up Brina who relied on him more. I agree that line is typical of the Brian we all know and love. Any chance Justin will become Justin Taylor-Kinney ? somehow I think will bring the small family closer and their will be less jealousy for the new little Kinny showing there is enough love for all of them. Author's Response: We are done with Hal, he is not interesting enough to have another story thread for him - I am having enough trouble keeping evryone and evrything straight and not dropping any story threads. Not a big fan of hyphenated names but I have thought about it. It might become more of an issue if there are little Sunshines running aorund the house. Hi Bill, I really enjoyed this chapter,you're always worth the slight delay. I'm glad the boys are so happy with Brian and Justin and Gus is really to young to understand even Clair's sons don't understand her attitude. Mikey aka Dumbf--k was so mean trying to spoil JR's fun with her doll house he is a jealous boob. I think Lindsey has a form of mental illness, I don't like anything about the Petersons but they should be treated with respect they gave her everything she wanted until she wanted Mel and Gus. They should give her a month to find a job and move out so they can sell the house or rent it out due to financial problems. About the people who have a problem with with the drinking, in my family we didn't drink, but on big gatherings on Thanksgiving and on Christmas I being the only child was allowed a sip of wine, I still only drink on those holidays and I'm in my 60's and didn't turn into a wine-o.please more chapters.
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Sorry my schedule is not strict enough for you. Mikey pretty much is a jealous boob but I always think he really can;t help himself. I never think of him as mean just clueless. I think you may be right about Lindsay. Lindsay always felt that her parents favored her sister so she may not feel musch gratitude to them. I do actually think about things before I write the and thought about the champagne, Gus got a cordial glassfull and John and Peter had two small glasses of champagne. I am one of those believers in exposing kids to stuff to take away the mystery and appeal of the unknown. My Dad was a functioning alocholic which I didn't really realize until I was an adult but I drink only rarely in social settings. I don't think a little champagne will cause any life problems for the three boys but everyone is entitled to their opinions and I respect them. I was going to insert in the story that none of them liked champagne but I didn't bother, oh well.
I will try and meet the arbitrary schedule some of my readers have set for me and get a new chapter posted soon. Bill

Yes it taking more than a week for a new chapter was noticed but it was a good one so not a complaint just me whining for more faster....
Anyone who thinks Michael is done cutting on Justin in front of JR raise your hand no one I thought so...
I love Gus but I have to admit I think you may be trying to kill him you know it's not legal for him to be in the front seat booster or not it's also really dangerous. Sorry I have become really fussy about car seats the more I learn about them my youngest niece will be rear facing until at least 4 because that's when your spine fuses one accident and a forward facing baby can be internally decapitated. Gross I know but my older niece is still in a booster she is 8 it's safer. They need to keep Justin's small SUV for when Brian has to drive Gus to school and get the bigger one for when everyone is in the car. Public service message over.
I was so happy to find this when I got home today I refresh the site 2 times a day just to see if miraculously there is something new. I loved how Gis questioned both his Papa and his Daddy' so he could understand why John and Peter are celebrating. I think Craig is going to throw a fit when Ted tells home to downsize it should be pretty funny. I want Ron and Nancy to have another open house so they force Lindsay out of the house that should be fun, not that it will sell but Lindsay being pissed cause she has to get out of bed will be fun to see. I liked how the Hospital wanted Greg back not a chance in hell and Hal got fired again yippee.
I almost want a huge fast forward to Justin and Brian bringing home their twins and sorry that's what I keep thinking and either both girls or one girl one boy. That is what is stuck in my head and now I continue to gently hint (or forcefully shove the idea) to you.
fYI I do not see a pink mini van in their future maybe a tricked out Cadillac Escalade in black with every safety feature available.
Another great chapter I am still willing to bribe you for the next one to take less than 7 days what do you like Chocolate, candy, cookies, Lobster gimme a hint....
Author's Response: One lousy day!!!! Picky, picky. I don't think any rational person beleives Michael will stop complaining about Justin. Strangely our minds travel along similar paths (one of us should be worried). I did consider the whole Gus riding in the front seat thing. Here is my take on it: my calculations say that Gus is 7 and will be 8 in a cople months. He was born when Justin was still in school so I am going to say his birthday is in November - at least that is when it is in my story. He is also tall for his age since both hsi parents are pretty tall. So I decided it was borderline OK for him to ride in front but I understand your concern. I also feel a little emabaressed to have put this much thought into this car thing - now you can understand why it takes a while to post these chapters.
I think Ted will enjoy giving the news to Craig and won't care if Craig has a fit or not. He really has no options so he is going to have to go along with the requirements or delare bankruptcy. It may take dynamite to get Lindsay out of that room. I thought we would all enjoy Hal failing at another job. I agree that we wil need to do some fast forwarding to get to babytime. I refuse to comment further on baby things at this time!

Love the story. Can you tell me Brian and Justin are life partners and business partners. But are they legal married or had a commitment ceremony. Did they change their names and where rings? I know they are monogamous right?
Author's Response: They are monogamous and they are comitted to each other but no marriage, rings or name changes. Legal marriage wasn't an option in PA during the time period the story is set in. They have a civil union and all their businesses are equally owned by them. Cynthia and Ted have very small ownership stakes in Kinnetik so they could be tie breakers if B&J ever disagree. Molly and Justin's agent, Charlotte have small ownership stakes in TayKin Art. Jennifer has a small stake in KT Properties. All the businesses are seperate corporations. They also have a charity foundation, JB Foundation, a portion of all their corporation go to the foundation. Hope that answers all your questions. Not sure if I ever explained that in the story but that is what has been in my mind as I write the story. They have nver disagreed but when they set this up they didn't want any stalemates in their businesses andthey know how stubborn they both can be. Brian queening out, thinking about owning a minivan is cute. He would look great in a Yukon Denali or a Hummer (he might even want that just for the name). He's even gotten used to being called adorable.
Interesting how Ted explained Lindsay and Michael's friendship demotion, but that certainly doesn't excuse their behavior. They are adults and they should act like it, not like jealous children.
Debbie still needs to get a clue about her son, he can be very mean and nasty and she really should see that.
The love that Brian and Justin have and show for each other is just amazing. They complete each other so well.
Lindsay better get her head out of her ass before he parents throw her out and she loses her son too. Of course if that happens she will probably blame it all on Justin.
Loved the courtroom scene. Jennifer going after Joan was great. Best mom award for Jen.

I always think he doesn't care what Justin calls him as long as Justin is till there beside him. I thin there are often issues with friends being "demoted" when there is a spouse ot partner added to the mix Most people understand that but Mikey is too clueless and Linds too selfish (at least in my story they are!) What a feel-good ending to this chapter to have Brian and Justin granted custody of John and Peter (soon-to-be Kinney).
Maybe Lindsay will hit rock bottom soon, start to take responsibility for herself, and repair her relationship with Mel. Regardless of their ups and downs, I think she and Mel belong together. One hopes that Lindsay can finally accept that Justin should and does come first with Brian. (Whether Michael can ever reach the same realization seems doubtful. However dysfunctional, he is part of Brian and Justin's extended family, although he may never again be a close friend to Brian, much less his best friend.)
Real life has been pretty awful lately, so I've been looking forward to catching up on my favorite QAF stories. Thanks for for another great chapter!

Rather than dwell on the problems of Michael, Lindsey, and
Joan, I am so happy that Brian and Justin now have legal
custody of John and Peter. It was fun to read Justin
and Peter paling around together. This has been one of the
aspects of this story that I have enjoyed. Just look at the
relationship of Mother Taylor to her son and Brian. It
adds so much to the story. Did I see that Peter referred to Ted
and Uncle Ted? Very nice.
There is one line that sure describes Debbie.
After Debbie left, Emmett smiled at Justin. “With Debbie it
always comes back to looking out for poor Michael!”
And while you are keeping people in character these lines sure
do show us how Brian sees Justin:
“No one is as adorable as you Sunshine. I probably would let you
have a minivan if that was what you wanted.”
Brian couldn’t help smiling back at him as he thought.
“All he has to do is fucking smile at me and I’d buy a
flamingo pink minivan if that was what he wanted.”

Wow--what a chapter! Chock-a-block full of good stuff. You got a little bit of all most everyone in here. Before I say anything else, you had me laughing out loud at that paragraph when the judge was wondering why Joan thought there was too much food and said to himself hadn't Joan watched the food channel--too funny. Loved all the expressions of affection between B&J in this chapter. Lindsay is a mess...will she be able to get herself together? Loved the interaction between Ted and Peter in discussing spreadsheets. Ted is such a good guy and it was nice to see Blake, too. Michael will never get a clue...how does Ben put up with it? Anyway, I guess you can tell I loved, loved this chapter--definitely worth the wait. Thank you!
Author's Response: I agree there was a lot going on in this chapter with a lot of different people. Glad you didn't get lost in the confusion. Who hasn't watched the food channel??? Joan is unique in many ways. I feel that is the central theme of the story, the strong love between Brian and Justin. I don't think Lindsay will get her act together too quickly, she is pretty screwed up. I always liked Ted in the show and felt he and Blake really did care about each other. I have written before that I think Ben enjoys being the sensible one and having a very dependent partner. Michael is super dependent, that is not a bad thing, there is a lid for every pot so Ben and Michale are well matched. Just yesterday I was wishing for another chapter and what a chapter it is. Brian set first Mikey, then Lindsay, and lastly his mother in their places. Well done. Loved that Brian finally went off on Michael, no more coddling and dismissing it as "that's just Mikey." Brian is right when he said Michael keeps bleating on about being his bestest friend but always believing the worst of him. Taking Lindssy's word over Brian, Deb, Ted, Ben, Mel, etc. shows what kind of person he really is.
John and Peter probably finally feel secure since it's now legal. As for St. Joan, I hope Brian cuts off her monthly funds.

I love how things played out here. I have a great deal of personal experience with these kinds of proceedings so I understand how anxious and emotionally drained they can cause a person to be. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with how you handled the situation. Maybe after all this, Joan, Lindsay and Michael will try to work with Justin and Brian in regards to the children. Moreover, I hope the knowledge that Gus could be taken out of her custody will be enough to get her back on track and focus on what's important....and it's not B/J's relationship.

Ok so your disappearance from the planet for 2 weeks did not go unnoticed I was starting to think you disappeared after you got your 1000th review, then suddenly you reappear with a really great chapter. I still want someone to lock Lindsay and Michael in a closet together and throw away the key they deserve to annoy each other and no one else. Why do I see some big expensive SUV suddenly appearing with a big bow on it. The hearing was great though I kind of hope if you decide to write about the lunch John and Peter get to say a little about what happened in the judges chambers. Maybe Ron should try to get one of his golf buddies to give Lindsay a job so she doesn't spend her whole day in bed. I can't wait for JR to tell Michael they forced her to eat fruit so maybe Ben can get to tell him to shut up finally. There is still so much more story to tell the art gallery opening John and Peter starting their new school and someday hopefully soon the new baby. I was going to beg and plead for 4 more chapters this month but seeing as how that probably will not work I will just go back to being shocked and happy when a chapter does appear. So happy with your story, John and Peter got what the readers wanted a happy family and the Kinney name. They have a life that they couldn't have ever dreamed of. As for Lindsey she really needs to be in a hospital enviroment where she can face reality and her reasons for feeling entitled to live a life style she can't afford. I think Mel and Brian will be getting along better,they know Lindsey was both their enemy, she played them againest each other. I believe seeing how Brian and Justin love her daughter as well as Gus only enhances her feelings for them.

Hmm, you're right about L&M, the characters we love to have annoy us. What would we do without them?
I'm not sure Lindsay and Melanie should stay together; they might be better off as friends, who are always mothers to both Gus and JR. I do hope to see Gus spending at least half his time with B&J. (Lindsay used to be a pretty good friend to Brian--and to Justin--before she became jealous of Justin for his relationship with Brian and his artistic talent. If she can learn to rely on herself, maybe a bit of her friendship with both men can be redeemed.)
Ben seems to cope with that "octave audible only to dogs", so he'll probably support Mikey through his ongoing dependency on Brian. (Justin helped Brian get past his codependency on Mikey; maybe, someday, Ben will manage the same for Mikey. Maybe he'll even grow up enough to become Michael, instead of Mikey. Then Michael and Brian could be friends and, more or less, equals.)
Author's Response: Glad you agree with me about annoying L&M! I think Mel really cares for Lindsay but I'm not sure why. I think Lindsay was a friend to Justin when she thought Brian didn't really care about him and he wasn't a sucessful artist. Now he had a great career and he has Brian, she is less of a friend.

"An octave that only dogs could hear" - LOL, wonderful description. Michael's whining has always struck me as the relentless whine of a mosquito which, of course, makes me want to get out the fly swatter. Time for everyone to let the dead weight (Michael and Lindsay) go. Easier said than done (especially considering Gus and JR), but definitely desirable. Eventually, those two will remove themselves from the picture. (Lindsay's already well on the way, although her fellow leech still supports her.)

I was cracking up at Brian's conversation with Michael. I was watching an episode of Will and Grace today where Jack was doing the 'only dogs can hear' voice. I was laughing so much I scared my cat. Brian has some really sucky 'friends' that don't know him at all.

Now that Lindsay is gone Pat can show what an asset she is to the gallery.
Lindsay reminds me of Josh Duggar, nothing they have done wrong is really their fault. She is so delusional that she thinks Brian runs the gallery and will give her back her job. Justin must have some kind of magic power over Brian, must be that adorable, heart shaped butt.
Gus is a smart kid and pays a lot more attention then his mothers realize. Love Brian and Justin working together to help him understand what is happening.
Author's Response: I think you are right, Pat will shine on her own. Wow a comparison to Josh Duggar - do you really think even Lindsay deserves that! LOL. She is delusional, that is her big problem, she doesn't see life as it actually is. I think kids often pay more attention than the adults around them realize. I don't know who purposely sets out to cause the most aggravation Lindsay or Michael. One is 'woe is me' while the other is 'why not me'.
Gus takes so after his father. Smart just like him.

What a fantastic way to start my day. I think i have a prblem though. Like many others I'm pretty addictied to this story. We all need to join FFA (Fanfic Anon) :)
You know...I really thought Lindsey was getting it at first when she was talking with Mel. That she needed to firgure out what she needed, that she always depended on others instead of her self etc. then wooooosh she took a hard left and went off the rails. Just is now her enemy? that does not bode well at all especially regarding any future manipulations. She's already gotten to Michael. Not sure if she'll try Deb. Deb can go either way. There's a chance she could be manipulated seeing who's involved. She needs Jennifer to rein her in and bring her back to reality sometimes. and now her parents...hmmmmmmmmmm
Wow Gus is a smart little guy. Hopefully he's come away from this all unscathed. Not sure about JR. He may try the whole custody thing now. Who knows. Ben is a saint to put up with all his shit!

Author's Response: I think a support group os fine but I prefer that there is no cure for addiction to my story. I had a fantastic start to the day as well since we are now over 1,000 reviews. Poor Lindsay does not have a very good understanding of her life and how she is creating her own problems. I think if Deb dares to criticize Brian or Justin to Jennifer she will be VERY SORRY. I don't think Michael has the money to pursue full custody and there is no way Brian will bankroll that effort. Alway enjoy reading your comments. Thanks, as always, for your review. Bill

I am so addicted to this story!! You are a fantastic writer and I look forward to your updates every single week. Selfishly, I would love it if you updated every single day, but I know that's not possible :) Brian, Justin, the nephews, and Gus make such a perfect family. It's infuriating that Lindsay and Michael keep holding on to the delusion that Justin is controlling Brian, and refuse to see they are the ones trying to control him.
Hopefully Mel is done and find a new partner (though I'm a bit upset Lindsay still isn't getting her comeuppance. Even now, she's the one deciding to leave which means she's still the one in control of them all). I hope Ben will do the same as I'm beginning to lose respect for him by staying with Michael.
Brian needs to cut Michael off too because how can he stay friends with the person who keeps disrespecting Justin and call him nasty names accusing him of nasty things? And I mean a full cut. Not just distancing himself like he's been doing or trying to reason with him because that's not working. Anything Brian says goes in one ear and out the other.
Gus continues to be a darling. "violence tennis knees" Ha!
Author's Response: I think the problem with L&M is that they realize they cannot control Brian. I think Ben enjoys being the sensible one in his relationship with Michael. It would be hard for him to find someone else as un-sensible as Michael. There is a lid for every pot. For reasons I don't understand I think Mel truly loves Lindsay. Brian can't forget that Mikey was a good friend when he really needed one. He just wishes Mickey could grow up. I think Gus must wonder why he has "tennis knees" when he doesn't play tennis. He uses the tennis court for his radio controled car. Thanks for the review, I love to get them!!! Bill

Boy, what an amazing chapter. So much to work out with Lindsay and Michael. I actually feel sorry for Melanie. Gus is such a smart boy. How will they explain things to JR? Afterall she will here one thing from Melanie and something else from Michael. Will Lindsay have to go to a mental hospital as she seems to want to revert to her childhood? Loving this.
