The sketch that Justin made fits the bill nicely. The dragon one fits too.
I love Jen's comments and how John realized that Joan wasn't going to change.
And I think Brian loves his mother-in-law even more.
Waiting for the next couple of chapters to see how much trouble Lindsay stirs up.

Joan, of course acted like an ass, I had hoped she would view the love between John and Peter and their family members. I think she saw but has so much ill placed pride, but to be critical about the amount of food that was served was just dumb. This story just gets better and better and it's just about time for SUPER BITCH to rear her ugly head and make an ass of herself, all she has to do is open her mouth and it just happens.more chapters when you can, please.
Author's Response: Poor Joan, she is her own worst enemy. I think she is a very lonely person but spends her time pushing everyone away with both hands. I have actually been around people who critized the amount of food served, I never understood that idea. I am really happy you are still enjoying the story. Another great chapter.
Very sweet how concerned the boys were about Justin's hand, they have changed so much being with real parents.
I just love Justin's sketches and Brian's reaction to them.
When Brian went to introduce his mother to Justin's family I had an image of Brian grabbing her by the scruff of her neck to get her to walk over to them.
Good for Charlie, putting her in her place about the food. Love Jennifer's comments to Joan, especially the one about no one being gayer than Brian. I wonder if Joan will really think about what was said to her and change the way she sees her son and son-in-law.
Not looking forward to seeing this story end, it is just too good.
Author's Response: Really happy you enjoyed this chapter. I think neither John nor Peter want to see anythng happen to the uncles, they know they have a good life with them. I think B&J may frame the sketch of Joan, Alice and Jennifer. We have more to come with the birthday dinner. I am still enjoying writing this story and have many ideas for new chapters, so for better or worse I don't think it will end too soon. As long as I keep getting good reviews I'll keep writing. Author's Response: I had to go back and er-read chapter 4. I really like Fr Bolton and keep trying to think of ways to bring him back in the story but haven't come up with a scenerio that works for me. Its nice to have characters that NO ONE likes so everyone enjoys then getting put in their place. We are not done with Joan yet so stay tuned. Thanks for your loyalty!!! Bill

Another wonderful chapter. Love the way everyone rallied around when Joan put her nose in the air and started spouting off things that were offensive. Did Joan learn her lesson? Only time will tell.

Always love updates. Maybe now Joan might - most probably slowly - get a clue. Love how protective Jennifer, Alice and Charlie are of both Brian and Justin.

thank you for this chapter it was amazing. Lots of Brian and Justin sex is always a good thing. I really liked some of the little things of this chapter John making breakfast for Brian and Justin. the ping pong tournament until Justin's hand started to hurt, pool volleyball that Justin won again, getting Thai for lunch and ordering Pizza. And then there was the birthday dinner. I had a feeling Joan was just holding it in till she finished her free meal and I was right she really does not understand when people love each other regardless of them being both men because she has never seen it. The family that Brian and Justin have put together first with Alice and Charlie and now with John and Peter make no sense to Joan that there is love there by all of them including Jennifer is something Joan does not understand. When Joan had her family and her children it was an obligation and a duty it's why she stayed in her bad marriage and why one child turned out the way she did the other Brian realized he wanted out and figured out how to do it then he met Justin who taught him how to love and be loved. Joan does not understand being in a relationship where there is love and fun and happiness because she has never seen it and even though it's her son living it she can't be happy for him. I guess Joan is leaving right after dessert unfortunately I doubt she will truly grasp why she was there. John got great birthday presents. Some of the little things of this chapter that help the whole story move Peter finding out he is leaving early with Justin, John doing a spreadsheet of who is attending his party did Peter help with that. I loved this chapter thanks again for writing it so quickly. Look no begging.....
Author's Response: Well no begging is a little disappointing, I enjoy the illusion of power it gives me. I a really happy you enjoyed this chapter. I enjoy putting the fluff - the "little things" - in the story. It makes it seem more like real life to me. Although I don't like the characther of Joan I do feel sorry for her. She did not have a good life and she clings to her religion and her idea of how people should be but it doesn't make her happy. She is a lonely and bitter woman but we can't ever forget that is a bitch, Thanks for all the nice comments and all your support. More to come from the birthday dinner and some wisdom from an unexpected source. Bill
