Never been whale watching but I have to go now.  This is really a great story.  I thought I would get bored with the whale watching seen but it was so exciting.

I like how this starts out.  It sounds like they're having sex.  This makes me want to go whale watching.  That action was very good writing.

I loved this chapter! Seeing Brian paying it forward, the whole whale watching scene, and the "non romantic" romantic beach scene. Very well done, made me wish I was there.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading and writing.  Thanks for the kind words.

I don't remember if I commented on this chpater.  But, I loved it and loved the whale watching, it reminded me of when I went.  Great chapter

The whale excursion was beautiful, but the pay it forward moment had me near tears.

Author's Response:

Oh, thanks for sharing that with me.  I'm touched that you were touched. (LOL - sorry if that sounds hokey.)  I really appreciate the fact that you stopped in to read and comment.  It was very kind of you.

This is a good start. Never been to P-town so the background is interesting.

Author's Response:

So glad you enjoyed the first 3 chapters, the last one has been posted.  If you ever get a chance, go to P-Town, I'm sure you'll love it.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

The whale watching stuff was true to life and just as I remember it. I love seeing the tough exterior of Brian fade away to his truly compassionate, loving, caring side. Another great chapter!

Author's Response:

I've heard from so many fellow whale watchers - let's unite!  It was an awesome experience and it's wonderful to hear other stories.  I'm glad you liked a changing Brian, I like to believe that's what happened. Thanks so much for the kind words.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

I’m an Aussie (Australian).  Mardi Gras in Sydney is a lot different from the one you see on QAF.  Firstly it’s held after dark and there is no way you could sit on steps and still see what’s going on.  There are other differences, but this is a review so I should get on with it.

I love how you just seem to be bringing back so many memories for me in this fic and whale watching was an enjoyable one, even though I spent some time in the cabin trying not to throw up.  Ah, Such fun.  LOL  I know they say look at the horizon, however, that didn’t work for me.  We saw Southern Right whales and a colony of Sea Lions, but the dolphins really made my day.  Brian calling Justin his poodle; hilarious.  “Got it.” this is a great piece of writing; as that is what friends would do; continually repeat the phrase.  I have to confess I also found the sandwich story bringing back memories. but not from Brian’s POV.  I love that Brian knows Justin will keep his secret, as I’ve always felt they had a trusting bond.    Great update, however, I need more than one more chapter of this fic.  Please, pretty, pretty please.

Cheers

Author's Response:

I know you probably hear this a lot, but I so want to go to Australia.  It looks so beautiful and unique.  We plan to go someday.  <fingers crossed>

I've been sea sick myself and the patch and wrist band worked, but when I didn't have anything, the horizon sort of helped... sort of... but being up on deck was the best thing.  I want to go whale watching again, somewhere different to see different types of whales and such.  The sandwich story... a lot of people have them, in some form or another.  I really believe in karma and passing it forward.

I'm working on the last chapter now.  It will have to be abbreviated since the deadline is in 20 hours.  I kind of like a kinder, gentler, more mellow Brian.  Angst is great, don't get me wrong.  LOL.

Thank you X a million for reading my story and supporting me with kind comments.  I sincerely appreciate it.

All the very best,

Laura

Hi darling,

I loved this chapter alot. Most of it really made me smile. I love how lovely Brian is being. I laughed really hard at '“Hey lady!”  Brian spoke directly to Ben and deliberately addressed the professor incorrectly.  “Do you mind getting your shih tzu away from my poodle?  Don’t you see that there’s a dog fight building here?” lol.

Wonderful update, Laura ~ Yvonne xx

Author's Response:

Sweetie,

Seeing your name made my day.  I'm glad the story made you laugh and that the line worked. You never know if something will work or not. Thanks for letting me know that it did work.

I can't thank you enough for staying with the story and commenting.  You are wonderful person and I really appreciate you!

Whale watching sounded exciting, even Brian enjoyed himself.

Brian has always been a good soul yet hated the recognition. Would love to know the background story of his first time in P-town. How exactly did Pop help him out?

Loved this update.

Author's Response:

Hi Sophie's mom,

I agree with you, Brian is a good soul that doesn't like the public's eye.  The quickie background on Brian's first time in P=Town was that he was very poor, and stayed at a run down motel with other guys.  He was hungry and went to the restaurant to buy a sandwich and they gave it to him, just like it happened in the story with the teenager.  I think Brian has 'paid it forward' so often in the show, but he rarely was apprecaited for it.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting, I sincerely appreciate it!

Thanks for the chapter. It was fun reading.  When I was in

P-Town, I too went whale watching and it was wonderful.  There

is just something very special experiencing in person, out

on the ocean, a whale.  It is one of those events that stay with you.

Your description of it was done beautifully.  I relived my

experience.

Nice job in having Brian leave all that money, as he was

able to pay back, and in his way celebrate who is now.  Very

touching, done very well.

When I was there, we rented bikes.  I was wondering if they

still do that.  And yes, I went to Google, and the A-House is still

there.  My friends and I, for some reason, called it ‘The

Alanteeek’, with the emphasis on ‘teeek’.

Thanks again and I think the number of people who read

your story is much more important than the number who leave

comments.

            DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi David,

You're right, it's the number of people who read, not the number who leave comments... but the comments really help the anxiety... LOL!

I Googled the A-house, too.  It does look like it's there.  The first time I went was in April, and we took in shows, went to the museum in the tower, and saw artifacts that were dug up when they were fixing the water pipes.  We found pottery shards and the like.  Fascinating.  The second time we went was during the summer and we went whale watching and shopping, etc.  Love the area, and so looking to go back.  I love the cool summer weather, I wish we had it here in my area, I'm in Annapolis Maryland, near D.C.

Anyway, sorry, hope that personal history wasn't TMI.  Thanks so much for reading and commenting, as a writer, you know how appreciated it is - and I do, very much.

All the best,

Laura

really nice chapter - I am such a sucker for the secrets that these two share - it makes these rare glimpses into the tender side of Brian Fucking Kinney so much more precious

as for the read/review ration conundrum...yeah, its hard to stay motivated sometimes - but our hearts keep us writing - chin up - those of us who enjoyed it enough to let you know hopefully will make up for the numbers

great read!

Charle

Author's Response:

Charle,

Thanks for your supportive words.  It does boogle the mind and tampers with the self-esteem when people read but don't comment.  Writing in a vacuum is very difficult.  I know you understand, from writing stories yourself.  That's why i'm grateful to you for reading and commenting, so very much!

I love Brian's secret side.  LOL.

All the best,

Laura

It's great to see a kinder side of Brian, so giving and affectionate...

PS I know all about sea sickness, and focusing on the horizon, that brings back memories...

Later Darling ~ Kathleen

Author's Response:

I now live in Annapolis, Maryland which is a sailing town.  I moved here to sail and that lasted for about 5 years.  Ten years later, no sailing.  But, in that 5 years, I had some sea sickness experiences and one was real rough.  I'll never forget it, and the horizon helped, somewhat.  LOL.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting.  I truly appreciate it.

Laura

Hello, Laura!

This chapter was so wonderful! the mixture of emotions was so intense!

Very exciting sighting of the whales, it was like there, going through this experience.

Then it was very touching to have a glimpse of the past Brian and see their emotions so exposed. And sharing it all with Justin. It was very touching and strong. Unforgettable!

A huge hug!

Fatima

Author's Response:

Fatima,

You're so kind and and thanks so much for reading and commenting.

I'm behind in my reading but I hope to catch up to your story after I finish writing mine.  Probably Sunday night.  I enjoy it very much.

Great story, Laura!  And OMG, I laughed out loud at these lines - hysterical!

“Do you mind getting your shih tzu away from my poodle?  Don’t you see that there’s a dog fight building here?”

Loved it! And the part with Brian leaving the money was so IC for him, but very sweet at the same time.  It's so great to see you writing again.  Looking forward to the rest.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Kim,

I'm so glad you enjoyed that moment, I thought about cutting it and then said, 'why not.'

I really appreciate you hanging in there with this story, especially since you're helping others and writing your own entry.  The comments are so very appreciated!

Love the comparision of Mikey and Justin to dogs.  Never would have thought of that yet it is so apt.  The visit with whales was awesome!!!  And now I know how to tell the difference between starboard and port.  Thank you!  Then you saved the best for last.  Brian is indeed a decent man, who pays it forward.  <happy sigh>

Author's Response:

Sorry about responding so late, work is a bother.

So glad you enjoyed the dog reference and the whales.  The whale watching was a challenge.  I agree with you, I think Brian is a decent man, but secretive about it.

Many hugs of thanks for sticking with this story, I sincerely appreciate it.

All the very best,

Laura
