Oh the first pic is amazing. I want to go there.
Author's Response: I know - I would love nothing better than to stand out on that wide balcony with my morning coffee, smell the salt air and listen to the waves crashing below.:) Sigh...but have to go back to teaching next week, so I will have to live vicariously through the boys.;) Thanks again for the comments and for reading this story! I will have another part posted later today.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

I wanted to wait for you to post all the chapters before reading but I am too curious to read something new from you.
Great start. Very promising. Thank you
Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Thank you for trusting me to get this completed. It IS done already, with the exception of the very last chapter, which I am working on now, so I am confident it will be done well before the deadline.;) I am so happy that you're enjoying it. Thank you for reading and for the comments; I really appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

Brian is one clever sob lol....faking a wipe out just to get a little taste of Sunshine. I like how mature you've made Molly here. Very accepting of her brother and perceptive to boot. Now the question is how will Justin respond to his surprise dinner guest.
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Thank you for always taking time to comment; I really appreciate that, my friend. Yeah, I kind of wish they had shown more of Justin and Molly on the show; we really saw very little interaction between them, and even at her birthday party she seemed less than thrilled to see him there. Odd.
And Justin's about to get a big shock when he finds out who their surprise dinner guest is.;) Thanks again, Tamara; I'll get this updated again later today.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

Enjoyed this immensely!!! Can't wait to see sparks fly at Molly's party :)
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate that.;) And I'm happy to hear how much you're enjoying it. Yes, Justin's about to be in for a big shock when he finds out who's coming for dinner - ha! Will post another chapter later today. Thank you again for the feedback! *Hugs* ~Kim

Just read all four chapters. Beautiful written as always. Like the idea of a lifeguard and surfer. Like it ... uhhh ... Love it.
But I agree with Justin .. Brian is an asshole. You don't play hurt, at that moment Justin can't help other people. Ugrr stupid Brian. Sorry.
You have my permission to post all chapters at onces * grins * . Please.
* hugs *
Author's Response: Hi, Marny! Thanks for the comments, my friend - and for the 'permission.' I will be posting this quickly. I have just the last chapter to write and it will be all done.;) Glad that you're enjoying it. I'll post another chapter later today. Thanks for the support! Hope you are doing well.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

Damn this is good. From the interaction with the little girl, so cute, to the rescue of Brian, to Brian's meeting Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Taylor. You have a lovely way with descriptions a person can actually see the 'scene'. Love the reference to Gidget. That really ages me. Justin is at the want him but irritated by him stage. Having Emmett included is an extra bonus. Molly's birthday should really heat things up. This is really great Summer Fun!
Author's Response: Hi, my friend.;) What lovely comments; thank you so much! That means a lot to me, coming from such a talented writer as yourself.;) BTW, don't worry about the "Gidget" reference aging you; I'm right there with you - ha! I thought that it fit, what with Justin's slender frame, the blond hair, and Brian's penchant for knowing about old movies.
I am blessed this time around with my updating schedule, since I knew I had to get this completed -and posted - by the challenge deadline. I really do need to get back to my other WIPs, though, which I will be doing simultaneously, just as soon as I finish the last chapter to this, which I'm working on now.
Anyway, enjoying your own story as well! Thank you again for reading and for all the support! I am very grateful, and it's always so motivating to me. I will likely post another part to this later today, too, that does include the dinner.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

I LOVE how quickly you are updating this. Brian is hilarious! this is great! I can't wait for Molly's party!
Author's Response: Hi, Julieta - I'm so happy that you're enjoying this; thank you for reading and for the comments. I do enjoy writing humor for them, although lately my stories haven't had much room for that - ugh. So maybe after I get done with another one of my WIPs eventually, I may need to go back to the "Tricky" universe to make up for that.;)
I should be able to post another part to this later today. Thank you for all the support! *Hugs* ~Kim

Author's Response: Hi, Sue! I'm always delighted to hear from you.;) Glad to see you reading this one.:) And, yes, 'drooling' is a good word for it, and it's going to get even more pronounced now, although it won't be smooth sailing at first for Brian.
I just posted the next part, and the boys will be getting better acquainted.;) Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I hope you continue to enjoy the story. *Hugs* ~Kim

I love that Brian caught Justin watching him. Brian as a surfer - love it. Looking forward to seeing this play out.
All the best,
Laura
Author's Response: Hi, Laura! I'm glad that you enjoying this; I'm really enjoying your story as well.;) I had thought about whether to reverse their roles and make Justin the surfer, but I decided in the end that it made more sense this way.;) And, of course, I had to take advantage of Justin's 'bleach-blond' look in Season 5 for the banner.;)
I will be posting another part very shortly. BTW, noticed you must get up early! I had insomnia last night and was online around 4 - 5 a.m. this morning and noticed your review. I managed to catch a little more shut-eye, though; hence the delay in my response. Hope you're feeling a little better by now. Very interesting beginning and story idea, my friend... I like it. I can completely sympathize with Justin. I go to the beach I need to start applying sunblock days ahead of time just to make sure. My skin has 3 shades: white, freckled and red as a lobster. I hate sunburns, and I couldn't imagine being a lifeguard that wasn't at an indoor pool. Definitely looking forward to where you're going.
You know I love your stories and I don't think I've ever said anything negative or made any suggestions about something that might need to be changed. I apologize in advance for a correction that I just have to make. The anal semantic part of my mind has to point out that you have Craig's alma mater being UCLA Berkeley. Being a California native and very familiar with colleges here, on the west coast, and knowing the colleges as well I think I safely correct and suggest. First of all, the two colleges are either UCLA or UC Berkeley. They are both UC (University of California) colleges, one is at Los Angeles, one is at Berkeley. Second, I think I see where you're going with Craig. Just cause they live in Cali doesn't mean that he'll like Justin's being gay, if he doesn't already know. I know that the show mentioned Dartmouth, which is a very business oriented school, even if they do have an art department. However Berkeley and UCLA are very well known for all disciplines, especially fine arts, graphic arts, and performing arts. They are both very well known for liberal arts, as well. They have great business colleges as well, and a whole bunch of other disciplines that would be very long to list here. I had to mention this because I believe most graduates of Berkeley (as it's known) would be open to any discipline, including art, and wouldn't think art as useless. I think UCLA graduates would think the same way. Obviously no matter how open and accepting a college campus is, there can still be close minded bigots who think the arts are pointless. Working on a college campus and knowing others from other colleges, including workng with graduates of Berkeley and UCLA, I'm pretty sure almnus from either college would have no problem with fine arts.
You don't have to change this at all, I don't mind, but in case you wanted to I would suggest Pepperdine, Claremont Graduate University, UC Santa Barbara, or USC. Berkeley and UCLA have outstanding business programs, and their graduates are excellent. However, graduates of UCLA and Berkeley would be more supportive of the arts and wouldn't think you couldn't make a living in art. The others I mentioned I could see having a close-minded view on the arts and think that you have to be business, medical or law to make a living. I could see Craig going to one of those schools as well. I can't see Craig going to UCLA or Berkeley. They have great business programs, but I just can't see Craig enjoying being at either campus, they are too open, accepting and encouraging of all students and disciplines.
Justin would have no problem in going to either school. Berkeley is such an open-minded campus they've probably had a gay-straight student group longer than most other schools. Plus some of the most famous and talented actors and directors that never went to college went back to UCLA for get degrees. I could also see Justin going to an art college, California has some amazing art colleges. But an alumni of UCLA or Berkeley woudn't typically have a problem with their child going to an art college. I could see an alumni of the other colleges I listed could have a problem with anyone who chooses the arts over something more reputable and useful, like business.
Now that I've "talked" your ear off, and given you more info on California colleges than you've ever wanted... :D No offense is meant of course. I can't wait to read more of this story and you can do whatever you want with it, I just wanted to mention what was on my mind based on what I know about colleges in my state, and because I know a lot of college people.
On a slightly different note good luck in the Summer Challenge, its awesome to see you posting for it. So glad the deadline was extended, gives me time to finish mine.
Cheers, Laura :) xoxo
Author's Response: Hi, Laura! Well, I don't think my response will rival the length of your comments, but I'll give it a try (on second thought, noooo, I don't think so - LOL!). Thanks for the tour of California colleges; I think I can safely say that I know much more about them now than I did before.;) I will make a change to the college based on your suggestions. Now I'm wondering how accurate I will be with a little tour of the Malibu area coming up; hopefully I won't mess that up too much (if I do, I hope you'll allow me a little artistic license there).
Thanks for reading this part - I will have another part at least to this up shortly. And I'll be looking forward to more of your own story as well. *Hugs* ~Kim

Got a lot more to tell of this 'tale' yet, too.;) I'm delighted that you're enjoying it. Thank you for the feedback. I watched, fascinated, by the way the sun reflected off the taut, tanned skin of his back and how the muscles mimicked the movement of the waves around him.
Hot Damn! That's a mouth full, one you can't help drooling over...

Author's Response: Hi, Kathleen! I can just imagine Brian's lean body molded to that satiny, black fabric that hides nothing to the imagination. I think Justin's enjoying the view at the moment, too.;) I think Brian will find that Justin is not such an easy conquest, though.;) What would be the fun in that? LOL!
I'll probably post the next chapter later tonight. Thank you for reading and for the comments, Kathleen; I hope you continue to enjoy it. *Hugs* back ~Kim

Hey, Kim! Great chapter! It is very good to see Brian in a professional manner. It's very sexy! Well, the boys have ever seen and the attraction between them was established. Does Justin will fall easy prey to Brian? Or is it the reverse? Just imagining Brian surfing with the outfit you described ... WOW! I love it when you bring us these details. Craig knowing that Justin is gay and not freaking out about it? Why do I think this will change rapidly when a certain brunette get this picture? Only Brian with all his genius could make Craig accepting a campaign aimed at the gay community. I think he is able to sell refrigerator until the North Pole. I'm loving the story! Perfect, as always. Hugs! Fatima.
Author's Response: Obrigado, Fátima! .
Quero me concentrar neles neste momento.;)
Obrigado pela leitura e pelos comentários adoráveis, Fátima. Provavelmente, vou tentar postar mais um capítulo desta noite depois. * Abraços * ~ Kim

Ahhh....so that's Brian's plan, the sneaky little shit lol. I am surprised by Craig though, not only does he know about Justin but he has agreed to market to the gay community....impressive. So why am I waiting for the other shoe to drop?
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Well, actually Craig will be more of a minor nuisance here (for a change). I was trying not to make this story *too* angsty, although there will certainly be a little of that coming up. But first I'm going to let the boys play a little.;) I will probably post another chapter later tonight, and the boys will be getting a little better acquainted (wink, wink). But not *too* acquainted, at least not yet.
Thanks so much for reading and for the comments, Tamara! You are very kind.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

*Sigh* Okay, I was really trying to wait until you had this all posted before I started. I knew the UST would be palpable... and I just wanted to enjoy that part of the story, yet get to the end of the tension in one sitting. Well, that didn't happen - I succumbed. LOL.
This is delightful, Kim. And... such fun. I enjoyed the build-up and the progression of the plot before they finally met; but I am eagerly anticipating what will happen next. Methinks that Brian's 'land' activities might not proceed as quickly as he thinks should be attributed to the Great God that is Kinney! Ha!
Looking forward to more... and for now, I will venture back to my own projects. I hope to catch up on this one again very soon. *Hugss*
Author's Response: LOL - couldn't wait, could you? Well, I'm glad you were impatient.;) You probably know me well enough by now to know that I wouldn't make it too easy on Brian.;) I suspect you are going to be correct in your assumption.
At least you have a few more days of writing before it's time to go to work. Good luck with your own projects. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, Janet. *hugs* ~Kim

Poor Justin - I feel for him, but he'll be an amazing lifeguard. I've never been to the beaches in CA, but your story takes me there and I thank you for it. I felt like I was standing next to Justin in the last part. And I agree with Em, every hot, gay guy will probably fake the need for help once they see him sitting up in the chair.
I love long stories, I have a lot of favorites that are well over 30 chapters, so don't worry about the length - bring it on! My only discomfort comes when there's child abuse/sexual abuse. I'm just too old, broken down, and worn out to buffer that kind of read. Unfortunately, I know I'm missing out on some great reads, but... well... I won't even read "50 Shades A Grey" after I read a one page excerpt. I hated how Christian treated the girl. I know, I know, I'm pathetic.
So enjoying this and looking forward to your next update. I haven't had a chance to get away this summer, so thanks for the CA beach, vacation!
All the best, my friend.
Laura
Author's Response: Hi, Laura - first of all, I enjoyed your own challenge story immensely; hope there's more to come. You do such a great job of clearly describing them and their actions. Great! Anyway, yes, I think with Justin's compassion he will be a good lifeguard, and we will see a little of that very soon. But it will also cause Brian to get himself into a little bit of trouble, because Justin takes his job very seriously (hint, hint).
And I agree with you about some of the stories about abuse; I can't really read them, either. Glad you're in the mood for a longer one, though, because it will take me several days to post. Thank you so much for the comments and for reading; I'll post at least the next part later today. *Hugs* ~Kim

This looks interesting as I grew up in a coastal town where surfing was a favourite pastime. Fortunately, for Justin, Brian is also enjoying the activity; hopefully this will lead to Lobster boy being able to practice his mouth to mouth skills real soon. LOL Good luck with the challenge. What happened to the ice-creams?
Cheers
Author's Response: LOL! Funny you should mention mouth-to-mouth; it does tie into the story soon, but not in the way that Brian might hope.;) The two of them will be meeting (clashing) soon; things will not go as smoothly, at least initially, as Brian might hope. But we all know that will change eventually.
Thank you for the well wishes and for reading, Flossee. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.
Oh, and I thought the ice cream cones looked a little bit on the fuzzy side, so I made the decision to switch them out for a more distinctive symbol. Hope you and the other readers don't mind. I think it's easier to identify the new challenge stories now.;) Thanks again. ~Kim

Hello, my dear friend! I love surfing! Beach and sun, surfing and Brian with tanned skin. I love this picture! I know Justin will suffer as the sun I go through this and am totally supportive of him. mmmm - how very titallating! swim suits and bare chests - the summer sun can't hold a candle to the heat that these two are gonna generate...that beach will never be the same - lol

Author's Response: Hi, Charle! Yeah...I got the inspiration when I went to the LA con and got a chance to visit Venice Beach and Santa Monica pier; I kept thinking of this scenario in my head and couldn't help myself.;) I debated whether to make Brian the lifeguard or Justin, but in the end it just made more sense to do it this way, I think. "You want me to be a lifeguard?" I don't see the problem. Justin in shorts. ;)
Little does Craig know that he'll be dangling bait in front Brian.
Author's Response: Hi, Sandra! Yeah, I don't mind Justin parading around in shorts, either, and something tells me that Craig's ad rep would mind it one little bit as well (wink, wink). Justin's hesitation at being a lifeguard may be changing soon, but at the same time I don't think Brian's going to exactly ingratiate himself just yet into his good graces.

Nice to see you back with us. I read about your adventure in N.Y. seeing Harbor and all the details. Now back to the real world. So you will be heading back to school. Short summer huh?? I am goint to love this story. I has very much potential. Justin as a lifeguard--much significance there. He must be going to save someone important. Will be waiting for updates as you onky have 11 days til end of submission date. Everyone here is ok. I am off today as is BB and Lee. The or is getting a makeover so we have to work in other or wings for a week to ten days. Our days off have been changed til we get our space back. Lee didn't keep his new car, sold it to a friend of his, so now he's looking again. Off to do my housework now. ugh!!! lol
Author's Response: Lindc!!! I was getting worried I had taken so long to post something that you and the peeps had given up on me; I'm so glad to hear from you! When I posted an update to "The Father, The Son, and the Blond" a few days ago, I admit I had been so spoiled with your wonderful support that I thought you would post a comment, and then I got a little panicky when I didn't hear anything. So I'm delighted that you're still with me.;) (I can't remember if you're reading the story I co-wrote or not).
OMG, Lee got rid of the Vixen? Or the one after that? He didn't even give me a chance to name it - ha!
Yes, I actually had in-service yesterday and today at school; my class starts on Monday. And you are correct; I have about 50,000 words on this story, so it will be multiple chapters. I have just a little bit left to go on it, but I'm almost at the finish line, so I'm confident I'll get it done before the deadline on the 15th.;)
Thanks so much for all your support! Please tell, Brian, Lee, Nonie, and everyone else I said hello.;) Let me know what sort of new 'baby' Lee comes up with this time! I'll post at least one more chapter to this later tonight. *Hugs* ~Kim

I like this storyline! :)
Author's Response: Thanks, Julieta! I hope you will continue to enjoy it. I will post the next chapter later tonight. There's 50,000 words in all, so I'd better start getting busy - LOL! Brian's about to enter the picture in the next chapter.;) Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment, my friend. *Hugs* ~Kim

Oooooh! The thought of a tanned, sun-bleached-platinum haired Justin - YUM! And a advertising rep showing up on the horizon... if his initials are BK - double YUM! I'm enjoying this way too much already!
Good luck with this, though I don't think you'll need it, you're a very talented writer. This has a wonderful, summer-y feeling, and is bursting with vivid images - it really pulls the reader in.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
All the best,
Laura
Author's Response: Aww..thank you for your comments, Laura; you're very kind.;) Yes, Brian is about to show up as you suspected. It won't be long until Justin realizes one of the best perks of his job (wink, wink). Will post at least one more chapter later today after school. Thanks for reading and for the support. Hope you enjoy the rest of it - it's a long one (over 50,000 words - yikes!). *Hugs* ~Kim

Hey Kim :) poor Justin forced to do Craig's bidding and sit at the beach staring at hard bodies all day lol. But really, if he didn't want to do it they shouldn't make him....I can't wait to see what happens when our beautiful brunet enters the picture though
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Thank you for reading this first chapter and for the comments. There could be worse jobs for sure (wink, wink), especially when Brian enters the picture. I'll post at least one more chapter later today after I get back from my teaching inservice. Thank you for the support, my friend; it is greatly appreciated. Much more to come! *Hugs* ~Kim
