This chapter is so fantastic.
Gus being so sweet, but knowing how to use the weapons of seduction Kinney. Unfortunately for Gus, Justin is Brian.
Incidentally, I love this version of you Brian. He does not cease to be Brian, but it is much less stressful than our old acquaintance.
Brian jealous and possessive. The breathtaking encounter between the two boys. Michael being Michael. This is very good!

I was attracted to this story like moth to a flame!:) The idea truly stunned me – I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like that. Both Brian and Gus are in love with Justin? It’s just… wow. It’s so strange, so unusual, and so totally brilliant! I enjoyed this story very much!
I love both Brian and Gus here, but of course I vote for Brian in this fight for Justin’s affection. It’s enough to look at those two to realize that they were made for each other, though I have to say, Gus has a lot to be attracted to, too. After all, he is Brian’s son - despite he lacks his father’s self-confidence and arrogance, I think if Justin maybe liked him a bit more, Brian would have a serious opponent – Gus has the same strength and determination as he does. All his attempts to win Justin’s heart are so sweet, I’m afraid what his reaction is going to be like once he learns who is the person Justin loves. The first Brian and Justin’s meeting was so great! I laughed seeing how Michael was trying to impress the blond, and how he had to retreat like a kicked puppy when Brian appeared in the picture. Poor Mikey, his main problem is himself – he is attractive enough, he just doesn’t know how to use it, which is surprising, considering how much time he has spent with Brian. I wonder what he’ll say when he finds out how important Justin has become to his best friend. Sparks and flames could be felt immediately as Brian touched Justin for the first time, and their kiss was so hot, I actually blushed! You girls did a great job perfectly capturing everything – of course after passion like that Gus wouldn’t stand a chance! I love how Brian has started breaking his rules for Justin since the first night, only after a kiss. It’s so typical of him when certain blond starts affecting his senses:) And I think you also showed brilliantly how Brian’s life could have turned, what person he could have become if he’d had a child while being a teenager. He is still the Brian Kinney from QAF we know, yet there are a lot of things which are different. He seems to me more confident – *really* confident, not just putting on an act - more satisfied with his life, happier. Gus’s had a great influence on him, I really love this version of Brian! I think that is also the reason why he was so possessive in the last chapter – he couldn’t allow himself to be so obvious and open (well, open in his way) about it in original series, but here he feels he has every right to get and fight for what he wants, and he wants Justin. By the way, I’m absolutely in love with this last chapter:) Can’t help myself, jealous Brian is my weakness.
You both have a great sense of humour – there were moments I was laughing like crazy!:) I love the way you described Brian and Gus’ relationship – and also I’m very interested in seeing Gus’ reaction to a big revelation, I’m even more interested in seeing Brian’s! I don’t know what Brian from QAF would do if something like that happened, but here he will definitely not step aside, even for his son! Well, at least I think so:)
That Owen guy is an asshole – I wonder why Gus even considers staying friends with him. He is so disrespectful, I adored the way Justin dealt with him! Justin also has a very captivating character here – he is a perfect partner for this Brian. I was so excited when he left immediately after having slept with Brian for the first time – by doing this, he had incredibly increased his chances, Brian obviously couldn’t get him out of his mind after that. I love all their conversations, their meetings, their messages and calls to each other – hell, I just love this story!:) It’s really great! Each character is interesting – Kayla is a wonderful friend, and Tristan… his part has been minor in the story so far, but he gave me chills, why – I have no idea:) He impressed me – I think he could be a perfect choice for Gus.
Thank you for the great story, Kimberly, Michal – I love it, I’ll be waiting for more. Oh, and by the way - you have perfect titles for chapters, they are so untypical!:)
Author's Response: Hi, Katrin! Once more you astound me with your thougthful and insightful comments, my friend; Michal and I can't thank you enough for reading and commenting on this story! You have mentioned a lot of wonderful points here; yes, with it being an AU and Brian having a child at such a young age, he had to grow up a lot faster, so while his assertive, confident personality is still there, it's also tinged somewhat with the knowledge that he must take care of a son that he loves very much. But he's also finding himself growing more and more attracted to Justin. I know that Michal intends to develop the relationship deeper between Brian and Justin before the big revelation, which will make Brian's dilemma even more acute. How will he react when he is given the choice that he must make? Which love will win out, and how will he resolve his wanting to be with both of his 'boys?'
I do love the unique idea that Michal came up with for this story, and the idea of an older Gus bonding with his father is very appealing to me. In the next chapter, in fact, there will be more moments between them with some poignancy mixed in. As far as Owen goes, I think Gus will discover just how much of a jerk he is - and how dangerous he can be.

To be honest I'm kind of startled by this chapter..The beginning was very nice but the end (I mean Brian and Justin's encounter) a little disappointing. Because Brian in this chapter reminds me of Brian-from-fics-by-Confused_Bliss, you know, somewhat dark, over-possesive, thinking that Justin is his property just because he wants him. This is SO OUT OF CHARACTER!!
I know that in most Alternative Universe fics Brian is more or less OOC, I can specify only few ones where the author held on to the original character to the utmost. And, for instance, "Paper heart killer" is one of them! So Kim, I believe you with your co-author will manage to save Brian as he is!
P.S. No offence meant to Confused_Bliss, her Brian is quite charming in his extravagance :)

Hi, Mary - thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. I'm sorry that you don't like Brian's more dominant portrayal in this chapter. But as you pointed out, this one is definitely an AU and as such, their characters may not act the way you would expect. He is jealous over the idea that Justin is seeing another man, and this is the way that Michal, my co-writer, and I chose to depict that emotion. You will notice that Justin, who is also a more aggressive character in this story, certainly does not seem to mind, and in the end, Brian is holding Justin while caressing his shoulder. I hardly think that makes him a dark sort of Brian. I think how he reacted just makes him human. You will remember in Ep 219, when Michael told him about Justin seeing someone else, that he reacted much the same way, so I don't see it as being all that OOC for him.
Also, I'm not sure why Confused_Bliss' Brian is described as 'charming' when he is OOC and dark, but you would have concerns with this one (and just for the record, that author is one of my favorites as well as a personal friend, so I definitely am not taking issue with her writing at all). I respect your opinion, however, and Michal and I do thank you for reading. I hope you will continue to give this one a try. Brian will continue to display different facets of his personality throughout this story, and while I can't talk for Michal, who is the one who thought up this story idea and is the one spearheading it, I do not think this darker type of Brian will probably manifest itself in this way again, at least not toward Justin or his son.

I'm glad you asked about the writing of this story. Michal, my co-writer, asked me to write the review responses for both of us, BTW, so that's why you see me responding to them. But she initially thought up this unique idea and asked if I would help her co-write it. She writes her part and sends it to me. I write the sex scenes and add more details to the part that she writes and then I send it back to her for a final approval/coordination. It IS a bit more difficult than writing one alone as you can imagine, but it's interesting, also, to see what each of us contributes toward the plot line. We kind of feed off each other's ideas. Hope that helps to explain it.:) And I hope you continue to enjoy the story! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us your thoughts. First of all, that motorbike date was exciting to read and I thought Gus had an in with Justin until that kiss on the cheek. Gus did think of the perfect date for Justin.
Then Brian outdid Gus without even spending a dime. If there was an award for best shower sex scene that one would win hands down. I don’t know how Justin held out as long as he did. Brian had claimed him as soon as he walked through the door. Justin didn’t stand a chance and now neither does poor Gus. That was so hot that I started having hot flashes and had to take a nap.
You two writers together are lethal!
