Reviews For Vic's Garden

This is a lovely look down memory lane.  And those tulips blooming in Vic's garden were the best ending ever.

Author's Response:

Thank you, my friend.  I always loved Vic's character and really hated to see him killed off. I mentioned how much I enjoyed his interacting with Debbie's character to Sharon Gless at the con in Cologne, and she, too, said she was sorry to see Jack Weatherall leave.  What a shame they didn't keep him there!  Thanks for reading and for the comments.  You are very kind.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

How did I miss this? What a wonderful story. I love the whole Rooster plates. I used to have a set of rooster plates and I've been trying to find another set. I search ebay all the time. Back when I had my flock of chicken my whole kitchen was devoted to the chicken theme.

I hope you friend can find comfort in this story, I think messages like this happen all the time.

Nice little review of their special feelings for each other.  Did Vic have AIDS, or was he HIV positive?

Anyway, Nice job.

- Jackie

Author's Response:

Thank you, my friend; you may be right about the AIDS/HIV positive question - I'm not sure if he actually had AIDS or not.:/

Thanks for reading and for your comments at any rate!  I loved Vic's character, especially with Justin and Debbie.:)  *Hug*  ~Kim

I read this on my phone after I went to bed last night and I wanted to comment while it was still fresh on my pea-sized brain.

Another great job, Kim!  You had me crying one minute because I loved Vic too and laughing the next at Deb's memories of his pranks!

And poor Justin.  He stood there in support of his friend, but I know he was hurting too.  After all, Vic was a father to him when he needed one most.  Vic stepped up when Craig wouldn't.

I just wanted to put my arms around both of them and give them a big hug.

Loved every word of it!

Nita

Author's Response:

Aww..thank you so much, Nita!  Your feedback means the world to me, my friend.:)  I don't know if I  can handle too much more of this angst in my stories, so I may have to hurry up with the Tricky story just to inject some more humor in here - ha!  I so loved Vic's character and really hated to see him killed off - he added so much to the show, I just didn't understand it...  Anyway, thank you again, sweetheart; I really am grateful.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

That was beautiful and I can truely see Deb and Justin having that conversation

Author's Response:

Aww..thanks, Chris; I'm delighted that you liked it.  It was just a one-time thing I decided to write to hopefully help one of my readers who is going through a rough time right now. Thank you for reading and for the feedback, my friend; and thanks as always for all the support you give me.:)  I truly appreciate that!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Still up can't sleep.  House quiet-so here I am.  Talked to BB and he told me to read this when I had time.  It's bee sort of a mad house here, relatives arriving from elsewhere and friends stopping by.  I am wrung out and I imagine the family feels the same.  So I thoought I'd go here as your wrinting always makes me feel better and more thnkful for what I have.  Sorry-maudlin I know.  This is such a precious story and fits in with my mood.  I really need sleep but can't.   Lee is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstance.  The family doctor gave him something to help his sleep and calm him down.  Life is his enemy, his words.  We have had a lot of soul searching talks the past few days.  I think he is trying to think more clearly after these talks.  He is young and has his whole life ahead of him.  Who knows what wonderful things life will hold especially in Cal.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  Sorry for my ranting I just feel better getting some of this off my chest.  Hope your other readers aren't too upset with me. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc -  I was very glad to hear from you, although a little surprised you had a chance to read considering how much is going on with you and Lee right now.  But I'm thankful that you did, so I could know how you and Lee are doing.  I'm sure he feels so blessed that you are there to support him, and I know that your presence must mean the world to him right now.  I can't imagine what he is going through but I know with his family's and your love that he will endure and get past all of this.  Remind him of how strong he was after his accident and that he needs to draw from that strength right now.  I believe that everything that happens - good or bad - helps to mold who we are and strengthen us even further.  He can get through all of this and I know come out even stronger.  I know there are a lot of good things just waiting for him and he seems so deserving.  Please tell him that I am sending my love to him and will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.  And I'm sending you a big hug for being the special person that you are.  *Hugs* to both of you.  ~Kim

That was a nice read, wonderfully written.

Thanks for the story.  Vic was a special man and

you honored him beautifully.

Author's Response:

Thank you, David!  I, too, loved Vic's character.  I hated it when they killed him off, and from what Sharon Gless had said at the con, she did, too.  We were talking about the 'Hustle' dancing scene, and she told me they had to take lessons beforehand - that was one of my favorite scenes between the two of them.:P) Thanks for reading and for your comments, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Love the excerpt and love Gibran.  There is a paragraph there for everything written. This story is wonderful, must admit I shed a few tears.  The ending so sweet. Vic was a sweetheart.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  Always great to hear from you.:) I thought Gibran's excerpt was very appropriate for this story, don't you?  Thank you for the lovely comments, Kym!  And thanks for all the support you give my stories - I am very grateful.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a lovely story, Kim. Beautifully done. Though, that's not much of a surprise, since everything I've read of yours has been wonderful.

Regarding your question. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to give you an answer yet and to tell you the truth, I think I'd rather talk to you about it over the phone. If you don't mind my giving you a call either tonight or tomorrow, we'll chat.

On another topic, I can't wait to read the next installment of The Parent Trap and a story about Tricky should be a hoot, so I'm looking forward to that as well.

As for my own writing... Well, I've been so busy with work and so friggin tired when I come home that I just haven't had the energy to seriously work on my updates. This morning I found out that I WON'T have to work this weekend, thank God. So I plan to do some serious writing then. During the week, unfortunately, I don't think I'll have the mental fortitute to come up with a coherent sentence. Last time I tried to edit my stuff after a 10 hour day (not including the commute) I re-read the same sentence about fifteen times before I realized what I was doing and gave up. The upside is that I love my job and don't mind the sometimes crazy hours.

Anyway, I'll talk to you later.

Cheers,

Vin

Author's Response:

Hi, Vin - great to hear from you, my friend.  Feel free to call me any night - don't feel like it's urgent, though; it's not anything I need to worry about right away. After reading about your work commute and 10-hr days, my question doesn't seem nearly as important now!  So absolutely no rush.  I'll be looking forward eagerly to your story updates when you get a chance.  Take care and I'll talk to you soon.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Aww... such a sweet story! I hated that Vic died, and of course it had to happen right after such an ugly fight with Deb, but she was eventually able to come to peace with his death. The first birthdays and holidays after a loved one dies are always difficult. My grandpa died in 1994, but I always think of him every year on his birthday.

Author's Response:

Hi, Nancy - thank you for the feedback, my friend!  I lost my grandfather in 1999, and still miss him a lot, too.

I really hated to see Jack Weatherall taken out of the show - I LOVED his character!  And I know that Sharon Gless mentioned the same thing when I had the pleasure of meeting her at the con.  What a shame that they had to take the show in that direction!  He was such a pleasure to watch and LOVED Vic.  Thanks so much for the kind words, Nancy; that means a lot to me.

HEY GIRL!  JUST GOT HOME HAVING A BEER THOUGHT I'D CATCH UP HERE AS I'VE BEEN SORELY REMISS IN READING YOUR UPDATES.  THE DEDICATION IS VERY NICE .  I THINK HE THINKS OF YOU AS A SPECIAL AUNT.  HE HAD TOLD ME HIS A FEW TIMES IN REGARD TO HOW COMPASSIONATE YOU HAVE BEEN TO HIM.  THIS STORY IS VERY POIGNANT AND ENDEARING.  I REALLY ENJOYED IT.  YOU CAN WRITE ANYTHING AND HAVE IT SUPERIOR-LONG OR SHORT DOESN'T MATTER.  YOU ARE THE BEST.  WORK GOING WELL.  WILL BE GLAD WHEN LINDC GETS BACK.  SHE WILL BE GONE AWHILE.  SHE IS GOING BACK TO FLORIDA WITH LEE AFTER THE FUNERAL.  SHE CALLED ME TODAY TO LET ME KNOW OF HER NEW PLANS  I THINK SHE IS GOING TO BRING LEE WITH HER OUT HERE FOR A WHILE.  HE'S NOT DOING TOO WELL.  POOR GUY HAS HAD TOO MANY UPHEAVALS IN HIS LIFE FOR SOMEONE SO YOUNG. AGAIN THANKS KIM FOR THE DEDICATION.  I KNOW HE WILL APPRECIATE IT WHEN HE GETS BACK TO READING.

Author's Response:

Ha!  I see you have TWO names now.:) So great to hear from you, sweetheart, and I'm so happy that things are going well for you.  I was extremely sorry to hear about Lee's uncle; what a shock that must have been, and he's been through so much already.  I do hope lindc is successful in bringing him out to California - I think a fresh start would work wonders for him, and he really needs to be around his good friends right now.  Please give him my best and let him know that I'll be wishing him happiness in the future. I will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.  Thank you as always for choosing to read my stories; it means a lot to me that you take time out of what must be a horrendous schedule to spend time with me.  I am very honored by that. *Hugs*  ~Kim
