Nice first story! Although I never write in second person and don't like to read long, detailed second person stories, I think it worked very well here. I think that stories that occur in one time frame, as in not including any flashbacks or any predictions of the future, can be well told in second person. Once you begin to write more, you will find what perspective works best. Welcome to the site!
