So I read this about four years ago but for some unknown/forgotten reason I don't think I completed it.
Finally got around to reading it all again. I would like to say although it was a long read, it was worth it. Yes the characters frustrated me most of the time. But it was bound to happen since it's britin lol. I do wish we got a brief look into their third marriage though. But I can see why you might have excluded it.

Author's Response: I think we can reasonably assume that Michael might have talked to Brian about Ben while the four men ate dinner, because the story did jump over to New York with Robert and Dan, and it's very unlikely that the four men ate dinner in complete silence. Also, Brian and Michael walked a long way to get to the theatre on Liberty, so it's also reasonable to assume they talked then. Thanks for making that point, others might have wondered about it to.
And here's the last chapter I hope you enjoy, and I'm loading another story but it's not as long and as drawn out as this one... and it's about 50 chapers in total. Thanks so much for hanging in until the very end of this long story. I'm just loved you and everyone else who did. Thanks again.

Author's Response: Well actually the last sentence is the only thing that Justin yelled or at least yelled the loudest, and Brian was upstairs and tthen in the kitchen with the boys. Also it's a twenty room mansion, so plenty of space to put wide gaps between people and hearing range.

Wow I am really confused. First Clay who had some darkness around him (like adding some extra to Grandma Taylor's drink) is the poster child of a loving man.
Justin is hardly thinking about Brian – will he go back only because he can’t have Clay? Is Brian now the default? Oh no!!
And Brian, is it really that easy for him to move on? I know he loves Justin but he seems happy, then again he is becoming like old Brian in the show, sex and parties so maybe this is his pain management. Is he going to fight for Gus against Mel?

I have to admit I have recently watched a few Korean Dramas, and based on what I read at Wiki, I suppose they fit the category of Tele Novelas. Thank you teaching me that term... and constantly coming back to my I guess I can say no Tele Novela.

Author's Response: HELL NO! They aren't getting back together at least not as LOVERS again. Classes were very exhausting but I think I'm bouncing back now from the experience. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here before, but I suspect that my school is disguising a MATHEMETICIAN'S degree as a Bussiness one. I was required to take Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics, and when I took all those classes I thought that was the end of that. However, last semester I took a classes called Business Research Methods and one called Poduction Operations Management, and with titles like those, what would you think they detailed! huh, huh... but believe it or not they are all about MATh, MATH, MATh, and then some math. Business Research Methods is just another statistics class, Prod Operations started out witih Algebra and Geometry, and then filtered into Calculus and ended with Trignometry. I thought I would go MAD, lol!

Wow, I love your reasons explaining why Justin would marry Clay! I understood it before, but now I'm even more thrilled that he is obviously in love with that man. Please don't get me wrong, I'm a big B/J supporter, but what Brian did really sucks, so he deserves to suffer for everything he put Justin through. Yes, he was in a rather difficult condition, but no matter what he thinks - he didn't shut Justin out in order to do what's best for him, he did it just for himself, for his own sake. It was a terrible thing to do, and now I have no idea how Justin will come to really forgive him. Loved the talk between Brian and Grandma. Maybe I'm a freak, but I hope to read more about tormented with jealousy/hurt/guilt Brian - can't help myself, I love those things, and he really infuriated me with his foolish behaviour.
By the way, I like Clay a lot - I'll be sad if he turns out to be a jerk, but maybe it'll be even better, because I believe in Brian and Justin, so if Clay really feels something for the blond, he'll have his heart broken.

This is a very entertaining story. But Justin being engaged and then wed to a man he only knew for a month defies credulity. I just can't see that as realistic. You 're the author, but I say either put B and J together or resolve it some other way. But frankly it's just starting to drag on and on. Sorry but that's my honest opinion.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to comment, and saying you find the story entertaining. I very much appreciate that. Two, please don’t apologize because you are definitely entitled to your opinion.
However, your comments throw me into a web of wonderment.
You say the relationship between Justin and Clay defies credibility and is unrealistic because Justin married Clay after only knowing him for a month. Please don’t take this out of content but your very statement defies credibility because you don’t seem to question any of the other relationships in the story (especially how the union of Justin and Brian came about - by the same token you state here it might be the most incredulous relationship in the story, but you haven't questioned that.... why not?).
For instance: In this story Justin actually falls in love with Brian before he even meets him. Recall, he sees Brian’s picture on the cover of a business magazine, and tells Daphne that he has fallen madly in love with him, and vows that he’s traveling from Seattle to Pittsburgh, and track him down and marry him. So how credible and realistic is that… why haven’t you questioned it?
Also, Robert falls in love with a man he sees only once in the subway station; Chris and Ethan meet and fall instantly in love, Ted and Harold fall in love at first sight. So how credible or realistic are any of those relationships, and why didn’t you question those relationships?
So, since you don't seem to have issues with the credibility of any of the other relationships, why is the union of Justin and Clay so farfetched to you? It seems to me that Justin and Clay have more of a basis for falling in love than any other couples in the story? To get a better sense of my meaning, please consider all of the following (13 reasons or more for Justin and Clay to fall in love):
- Clay saved Justin son J.C.’s life
- Clay appears to be very good to and for Justin, and a big fan of his art
- They have a lot in common (dancing, singing, love of art, laughing at the same things, and much more)
- Clay was committed to Uri for 20 years, therefore, capable of strong attachment and commitment. That’s something that Justin highly desires in a partner.
- Clay’s a surgeon, so he has a prestigious job and high overall respectability, and presumably rich
- Clay’s handsome, a great lover, a great listener, and seems to always say exactly what Justin either wants to or need to hear
- Clay seems to really get Justin; especially in terms of his art. Recall the day they first met how easily he was able to decipher Justin’s abstract pieces when others couldn’t. Also, unlike most people, Clay didn’t assume that it was Justin who had left Brian, and he was able to figure out (without Justin telling him) what all artist’s promiscuity was all about.
- Justin trusts Clay. That’s clearly indicated by the fact that he didn’t ask a lawyer to draw up a prenup for Clay to sign.
- Clay is good with both of Justin’s sons J.C. and Gus [That’s a big plus! All parents want a partner that their children adores and vice versa]
- Justin gets some things from Clay he didn’t get from his other boy friends. Unlike Ethan, Clay appears to be faithful; unlike Jensen, Clay doesn’t appear to be either a bigot, snob, or needy; and unlike Brian, Clay appears quite opened about his feelings, easygoing, and uncomplicated
- Ethan, Jensen, and Brian, has caused Justin tremendous pain. Therefore, someone like Clay is refreshing to him, as well as a relief to him. Recall when he told Robert that he was choosing Jensen over Brian because Brian’s complicated but Jensen is not. A similar thing is probably occurring now when it comes to choosing Clay over Brian. Clay is uncomplicated whereas Brian is terribly complicated. Keep in mind that Justin is not aware that Brian has completely healed, and not sure what his reaction is going to be when he finds out.
- Also, all Justin’s friends like Clay, but that wasn’t the case with Brian though. Melanie despises Brian. Ethan and Chris aren’t big fans of Brian’s either. Lindsay has feelings of unacquainted love for Brian, so it’s possible that subconsciously, she might be a little jealous of Justin being with Brian. The only skeptics are Jennifer, and Justin’s grandmother but it might not be all that personal. Those two women are mostly concerned that Justin married someone he hasn’t known long. They’d feel the same way about it no matter who it was that Justin married that quickly.
- Other things to consider when evaluating why Justin has fallen for Clay: Recall Justin told Viola that he known other men far longer than he knew Clay, however, none of those relationships have worked. That signifies that time spent getting to know a person has very little essence to Justin. Maybe after what he’s been thru, he feels you can spend a lifetime getting to know another person and still not really know that person (so what difference does it make). Also, Grandma-Taylor told Brian that Justin hasn’t been able to make a good decision since Brian left (especially about his love life). So maybe marrying a man he’s only known for six months is just one more of those bad decisions.
So, taking all this into consideration how can you say that the relationship between Clay and Justin lack credibility, and is unrealistic. Could it be possible you have developed issues with this story at this point, because either you don’t understand the overall basis of their relationship, or your emotions make it too hard for you to accept that Justin might be in love with someone else in addition to being in love with Brian?
I hope I’ve convinced you but still you are entitled to your opinion, so if I haven’t that’s completely fine. No hard feelings.
Oh, last of all. The other comment you made here throws me into a flux of confusion. You said the story is entertaining, but ask me to end it because it starting to drag on and on. That doesn’t make sense to me, because usually when people are being entertained they don’t want to see the fun come to an end. I find that terribly strange, but then again you are entitled to your opinion, and thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Hi, I usually avoid reading A/U but I gave this story a chance a few days ago and I couldn't stop reading – WOW what a roller-coaster! Since I read it all at once (!!) this is kind of my first cliff hanger … Poor sad Brian, I hope it won't take them more missed years. This Clay seems too perfect like he knows exactly what to say, and have just the perfect back story. He gives me no reason to dislike him but I don't know there are too many coincidences. What about Gus, can he really forget his father so easily?

Wow this is good. This is the kind of Justin/OC relationship I've rarely seen but wanted to a lot esp if Brian in the AU was not good for him or being good to him.
I know Ethan gets villified a lot but in the show, I thought he was very good for him just as Clay is good for him right now. This will allow Justin to grow and mature into someone who Brian can chase instead of the other way around.

You know, and I can't believe I'm saying this...I don't even think I believe Brian and Justin being together is the best option anymore. Before, when the divorce was fresh, them getting back together seemed like the only solution. Now, however, they both have different lives. Would they even recognize each other?
Brian went through a very hard time in his paralysis. And even though Justin wanted to be there, he wasn't. Brian went through all those things alone and is different because of them. As for Justin, he's had this whole other life, boyfriends and doctors and JC, that Brian has no part of. I'm starting to think that too much time has passed for them to find a reason to be together again...
They may love each other, but they don't know how much the other person has changed. How can they reconcile their old feelings with their new selves?
I only write this much because I care SO much. Right now this is my favorite story and I really want things to work out between everyone...But the more time that passes the less I see that happening. At least not without one of them being unhappy with it and leading to another divorce.
Ok so this is basically a repeat of everything I left in my last review...Well, not a repeat, but just more concerns. I still love the story and can't wait for the next update. :)

I thought of every obstacle you have written here, and I've already worked it all out... you'll be surprise what develops along the way that do eventually get them back together, and I hope (by story end) that I've done a good enough job to make it believable.
