So sorry, been so busy I guess I missed this chapter. Good one, sexy finally in the silo. Jack is still an ass and Joan Along suffering bitch. Amazing they would think Brian would come back, work and get them out of debt. Yea for Sara, she is a formidible woman. Loved tis chapter, a little bit of everything. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc! Nothing to apologize for; I appreciate all the support.;)  I had to think about where the boys could make love this time, and still be away from prying eyes.;) Finally decided that the silo would do the trick.;)

Now after Jack and Joan's departure, it will be up to Sarah and Will to reassure their nephew of their love for him, and his worth.  And I suspect a certain blond will be comforting him, also.;)  Thanks again for the feedback, lindc.  It is so appreciated. Give everyone my love. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim! I was so deliriously happy to see an update from you, I *love* this story, I missed it so very much. I hope you had a wonderful New Year and Christmas!:)

I love scenes with Craig and Jennifer, they are such a loving couple, completely devoted to each other. You’ve created an amazing feeling of a real family, I just drink it in every time I read. I’m happy Craig finally started looking at Brian more favorably – finally he saw that Brian is really deeply attached to Justin — and more. I love watching Brian and Justin’s relationship through someone else’s eyes.

Brian is amazing, he was so tender, so caring to Justin… and then he brought him to that place in a photo, and well… wow. It was both romantic and horrifying!:) Poor Justin, afraid of rats – probably I would be too, but with Brian, who cares?

Sex was incredible, amazingly hot, I missed seeing our boys together. I’m hooked to their relationship, their teasing, flirting, it’s all absolutely addictive. And I loved how protective Brian is – I think Justin underestimates the danger he might be in, he needs someone to be close to him all the time.

Will and Sarah are another example of a loving, devoted family. The death of their son hasn’t separated them, it only united them even more. That’s admirable, I really hope they’ll get their closure.

OMG! I was shocked to see Jack and Joan, first I thought I have misunderstood something! They were like a bucket of cold water, I was speechless! They are so unpleasant and disgusting, it’s like they’ve brought their darkness along with them. The first half of the chapter was so calm and light, and then atmosphere has changed, turned tense and worrisome. And I loved it, you sure know how to make readers nervous! I was horrified by what Jack was saying… Joan wasn’t much better, but maybe there is some hope for her, after all. So now Brian has money? That’s fantastic! Maybe I’m mistaken, but situation is getting a little better, I was so worried about that!

Poor Brian, I’m hurting for him. It’s good that he at least has Will and Sarah who are ready to love him like his real parents should have. And I’m sure he’ll have Justin to support him – if he decides to share his feelings with him.

Thank you so much, Kim, it was a wonderful chapter! I can hardly wait for the next one!

Author's Response:

Hi, Katrin! I'm so happy that you are still enjoying this story! Yes, I thought the boys needed a little 'loving time' together.;)  I think, too, that in the next part Brian will need some comforting of his own, along with a reassurance from his aunt and uncle that they do care for him for himself, not just as a replacement for their son. That was a low blow for Jack and Joan to insinuate that, but they have not been very supportive at all in this story.  I am very much enjoying writing Brian as a teenager, however, and describing his journey as he explores this new environment and falls in love with his beautiful, blond neighbor.:)

I still have quite a bit to tell in this story, but I am hopeful since I only have this and one other WIP at the moment that I can update both stories faster now. Thank you for continuing to read this story, Katrin, and for always giving me and other writers on here such thoughtful comments and support! That is like an elixir to us, and it is deeply appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

omg!! seriously looking forward to the updates.  Followed this story for so long and each time you leave me wanting more, more, more. By the way, if I haven't noted before, love your work! I'm not a writer so critical feedback you won't get from me. But I am a reader and your work is outstanding. You are a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Author's Response:

Hello, there! Wow, thank you so much for your kind words; you don't know how much that means to me.  I have really enjoyed writing this story; the Brian in this one - while hopefully still IC - is so much younger than any other depiction I have written about him, so I am enjoying writing him in a younger version, as well as writing about his assimiliation in a totally different world from what he is used to.

I am so happy that you like my writing, and that you are looking forward to updates on this! Thank you so much for reading, and for taking the time to comment; it is deeply appreciated.  I only have two WIPs currently, so I am hopeful I can update both stories more quickly now. I am working on the update to "My Heart's Desire," and then I will be returning to this one. Thanks again; I hope I can continue to write stories that you will enjoy. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello, my dear Kim!

I am happy to see the update of this story.

I am very happy to see that Brian will stay with his uncles. Jack and Joan make no lack in your child's life.

I am very happy to see that Brian and Justin continue to maintain their relationship and maintain a strong bond between them.

Looking forward for the next updates of both their wonderful stories.

A big hug, Fátima.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend - I appreciate your kind words. I have a lot more of this story to tell yet, so I hope you will continue to enjoy it. Thanks again for the support. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Glad to find this story still alive! Great chapter with an intersting twist - the money from Brian's uncle will open up a lot of possibilities for his future, and of course for Justin's and his family, too.

Looking forward to more!

Author's Response:

Hi, there! Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and especially for commenting; I greatly appreciate that. I am very sorry for the long delay; I can imagine why you might have thought it might remain unfinished. But I have written about 70 stories for B/J and have never left one undone, so it will definitely be completed.;)  I only have two WIPs right now (includingt this one), so that will hopefully help me to update faster. I am working on "My Heart's Desire's" update right now, and will be moving back to this story immediately afterward. I am so glad that you are enjoying this story!  I hope you will continue to bear with me through a very busy RL.  Thank you again for the support! *Hugs* ~Kim

It made my day finding this update. So happy to read more and to see Brian and Justin are still doing so well and getting so close to each other. Could have lived without Jack and Joan making an appearence though. Really happy Brian is staying with his Aunt and Uncle hope he continues to do so. Always looking forward to more of this and your other WIP Kim.

Well done as always!

:)

Author's Response:

Hi, Susan! Always great to hear from you, my friend.:) I am glad that you are still reading this one. Jack and Joan showed their true colors once again, didn't they? But now Brian at least knows how his aunt and uncle feel about him.  They will need to convince him of that, though, I think; especially after what his parents said to him.

So glad you are bearing with me! I am working on the update to "My Heart's Desire" right now, so hopefully my updating schedule will go faster now that I only have the two WIPs open.  Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for your feedback.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

All I have to say is that Jack and Joan have a lot of fucking nerve. Did they really expect Brian to help them after all they've revealed? I'm glad that Brian didn’t fall for their bullshit.

Author's Response:

Hil, Tamara - Yeah, that was pretty dispicable, even for them.  I am glad, too, that Brian overheard what was being said, and that his aunt and uncle stuck up for him.  Perhaps he can find a real family now.  First, though, they have to convince him that he is not just a replacement for their son as Jack intimated. Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for your comments, my friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: Jackie Mag (Signed) · Date: January 11, 2015 11:40 PM · On: Who's the Real Man?

Brian's dad sure is a jerk.  He just wants the kid for his money.  And mom Joan is no help, either.  Brian's lucky to have his aunt and uncle there for him.  Maybe Brian can buy his own place and live with Justin....    or is that too much to hope for?

stories/963/images/Jackie-Icon2.jpg

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Yes, Jack's true colors certainly come out here; Joan is a little better, but still not very likable in this chapter.  Perhaps at some point she will try to redeem herself, but their actions have obviously thrown Brian for a loop.  He will need the reassurance of his aunt and uncle that he is valued for who he is, and not as a replacement for their son.

I'm hoping I can update this faster, now that I only have the two WIPs open.  (fingers crossed).  Thanks so much for your comments, and for the support, my friend; they are both deeply appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Holy spaghetti!

I can't even say how good this story is!!! Thank you for the update!!!
It would look good on screen! When you are done please change the names and sell it to a good director. I'd participate in crowd funding for that one.

Author's Response:

Hello, Edda!  Wow, thank you so much for the compliment! I am thrilled by how much you are enjoying the story.;)  I am having a lot of fun writing Brian as a younger character in a rather strange world (at least for him), as well as developing his relationship with his aunt and uncle.  I still have quite a bit to write, but hopefully since I'm down to only two WIPs at the moment, that will help me to get this updated again a lot faster.:)

Thank you for bearing with me in between updates, and continuing to read this story.  It WILL be completed. And thank you for the feedback! I greatly appreciate that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim, this is my favorite story here on MW. The verse, the age...it's enchanting. The Walkers are wonderful people. I love how you wrote that whole interaction with Brian's parents and so glad it turned out the way it did. Whew! I'm  going to eread it now...so good!😍

Author's Response:

Hi, Jo! I can't thank you enough for your kind words, and for the support.  I am very honored that you consider this one your favorite at the moment; that means a lot to me.;)  This is the first story that I have written with a younger Brian in it, and I have really enjoyed placing him in this context, and showing the gradual relationship developing between him and Sarah & Will.  I think in the next part they will need to reassure him that they love him for his own sake, and not as just some substitute for their son.

I only have two WIPs at present, so I am going to try hard to update this faster; I still have quite a bit more to tell.  Thank you again for your kind words; that really brightened my day, and I needed that! *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim!

Another delightful installment to this story. Your attention to detail always amazes me; I can't ever seem to focus long enough in my own writing to do the same. Also, the characterizations of our special boys are so perfect in this 'verse. I love seeing them at this younger age, and experiencing what are their own growing experiences as they get to know each other better.

A great chapter, my friend. As always, looking forward to more. *Hugss* Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet!  Thanks for bearing with me until I could update this story, and especially for the comments; I deeply appreciate that.  Sometimes I think I put too MUCH detail into my stories, but I am glad you like that element; I guess it's a fine line between enough and too much with mine, but I've noticed that most readers seem to like it, so hopefully it falls within the former category.;)

Since I only have two WIPs right now, I'm hoping if my crazy schedule allows it that I can start updating faster now. So hard not to start one of my new story ideas, but I'm going to try and hold off (except for maybe a Valentine's one-shot; hard to resist that!). Thanks again for the support. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim, I can't tell you how happy I was to see an update. My week was awful, between the events that occured in Paris and me being in bed for the last thirty six hours (I'm just now able to do anything but lie down and try to sleep) and this chapter was very welcome. I love the boys together so much in here. Also, I want to kill Brian's parents for being such disgusting parents. So what is Brian gonna do now? The next update can't come fast enough for me. Thank you

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for sticking with this story in light of the long update gaps, and for the feedback.  Hopefully I can update faster going forward.

Yes, it has been a very difficult week for your country; we over here can certainly relate to your heartbreak.  It brings back those awful memories of 9/11.  Please accept my condolences for those you have lost.  I'm sorry, too, to hear how badly you've been feeling. I hope you are feelng better very soon.

As for the next chapter, it will continue directly from this one, so Brian's aunt and uncle will have to reassure/convince their nephew that they value Brian for himself, and that he is not just a replacement for their son. And how will this impact his future now?  There's also the issue of Dale's death, and bringing those to justice. So I still have quite a bit more to tell here.  I wil try my best to update this faster now, since I only have two WIPs left. Thanks again, my friend, for the support, and hope you are feeling back to normal very soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: January 11, 2015 04:16 AM · On: Who's the Real Man?

Wow!  At first I was worried that Craig would insist that Justin race and was pleasantly surprised.  Now we find that Jack and Joanie have come back for Brian, who is now rich!  I was so happy to see that Will and Sarah refused to send Brian home with them.  What will you come up with next.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend - thank you for reading this latest chapter, and especially for commenting. I realize between all my other tasks it has taken me forever to get this updated, so I imagine I have lost a lot of readers along the way.:/  I appreciate you bearing with me even more, then, and for the feedback, too.  Yes, Craig had a dilemma here. He needs Justin to race in light of their finances, but I wanted to portray him in this chapter as more concerned for his son's welfare, rather than merely looking at the material aspect of it.

As for Brian, I suspect he will need some convincing now to make sure he realizes Will and Sarah value him for who he IS, not as a clone of their son. That will take place in the next chapter.

I am presently down to only two open WIPs, so hopefully that will speed up my updating now. Thank you again for all the support - and BTW, thank you for the comments on AO3 for "I Don't!"  Speaking of "I Don't," for whatever reason I don't get very few comments on that site, so I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.:) *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim,

Loved it, as always. I think “Stallion” is one of my all time favorite B/J stories, and the fact that it has a horse in it has absolutely nothing to do with it, not much anyway, haha.

It’s nice to see Craig is more accepting of Brian’s interest in his son now, and I would have liked to have seen his face when Brian agreed with him ;  )

LOL, glad to see Justin knows what a dogie is.

Poor Brian, having his parents show up, only to find out that, his uncle is dead and, all Jack and Joan want is the money his uncle left him.  And, with that little seed of doubt Joan planted, I have a feeling Will and Sarah are going to have to do some fast talking to convince him that he isn’t a replacement for Dale.

Great chapter, my friend. Looking forward to more : ) Hugs ~*~ Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet! So great to see you back online.;)  Thanks for reading this rather long chapter, and for your comments; I was starting to feel a little lonely here tonight.;)  (As Three Dog Night said, one is a lonely number - ha!). BTW, I didn't really mean to copy your "Dogie" idea, but I didn't want one of Justin's better assets being compromised, and one thing led to another, and, well...you know - LOL!

And yes, in the next chapter, Brian's aunt and uncle will have to reassure their nephew that they care about him in his own right, and are not just using him as a substitute for their son. And Brian may have to be the one that is comforted by Justin this time.;)

I'm finally down to just two WIPs, so I'm hoping that will speed up my updating schedule; will do my best. Thanks again for still following this story, Janet; I really appreciate the support. And I'll be looking forward to updates on your own stories. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello, Kim! I am very happy with this great update of this amazing story. I love all the anguish that you can pass so brilliantly. The moment when Brian tells Justin that will not allow anything to happen to he is as own of Brian. It was very exciting.

You are a fantastic author, my friend and I want you to know that I love this story and I look forward with great anticipation each update you make.

A big hug, my dear!

Oh, that was a heartbreaking chapter! The truth must have come out sooner or later, but it’s still so incredibly painful. Poor Will and Sarah! At least Brian is there to support them. I understand their grief, their desire to get the murderer in prison, but the Sheriff was right, they should get everyone connected to this crime before arresting someone. I nearly cried – this chapter evoked such emotions in me, it’s still hard to think normally. You’re brilliant, Kim. To describe the grief and pain so well takes a lot of talent.

I *loved* Brian and Justin’s moment! I missed their interactions. I smiled like a fool, seeing how worried Brian was for Justin. He loves him oh so much, I wonder if he realizes himself how strong and deep his feelings are. I loved how protective he is, how he vowed to never let anything happen to Justin again. It was a beautiful moment, Justin needs support right now too. Brian is wonderful for taking such care of everyone.

Thank you, it was an amazing chapter – painful, but great. I can’t wait to see the next one, it’s physically difficult to go on long without the next dosage! Thank you!

Author's Response:

Hi, Katrin! Always a pleasure to read your thoughts. Thank you for reading these latest two chapters, and for your kind, thoughtful comments.  I'm very glad that you are still enjoying it.;)  And yes, Brian is slowly changing from the indifferent, rebellious boy he used to be.  I am so sorry I cannot update faster. I have tried, but between helping other authors, my father passing away recently, and going back to work, it just is not possible at the moment. But rest assured I WILL finish this story, and I have quite a bit more yet to tell before it's done.

Thank you again for all the support, Katrin. That means a lot to me, my friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim! I was so glad to see this story updated. Every chapter is incredible, and when you post two almost simultaneously, it’s as if Christmas came early!:)

I loved how Jared uncovered the truth, it was such a tense, exciting episode! Like in great movies – I was seeing everything with my own eyes. I don’t know what to make of Doug – I know there plenty of venturesome, reckless players who just can’t stop, and then have big problems, but to solve them this way… Doug was scared for his life, I get that, and there was no way to repay what he owed already, but he should have come to the police. He put his fear of disappointing his parents and getting into troubles with law higher than health of another person – of his friend’s brother! And when I realized he also played an active part if Dale’s death, I was shocked – he basically killed one person, and he was risking doing that again to Justin?! God! He needs serious help and then a few years of prison!

I’m always so touched to see how Brian and his uncle’s relationship develops. They are wonderful together, I love the progress they’ve made! I hope Brian will be here for his aunt and uncle when they learn shocking news.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for the comments, Susan. Very discouragec at the moment, so I needed that. Honestly, it if wasn't for the few readers such as yourself who have commented - and the fact that I will never leave a story unfinished - I might not have even posted any more of this, since not many readers seem interested any longer. What a terrific chapter.  You could feel the emotions and the pain.  Hopefully the doc's son does the right thing, but people like that only think of themselves.  Love the part with Vic and Emmett.  They have been silent too long.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend. I really appreciate you reading and commenting. You are always so supportive of many of the writers on here; thank you for that.  It does get discouraging at times when there is a drop in reviews; at times makes me wonder if anyone is still interested in following it or not. So I really appreciate you bearing with me in between updates.  I wish I could update faster. But alas, just not possible right now with everything else going on here and in my RL.

I hope you continue to enjoy this story; I still have quite a bit more to write, even after the situation regarding Dale's death is resolved; to me that is a relatively minor subplot compared to how the boys wind up at the end of the summer. Will they be able to stay together, or be rent apart?  Thank you again; your feedback is greatly appreciated!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Nice man=he will be missed. We are all ok and I have instructions to say hey and love to you from everyone. I can see how busy you have been as your writins has been put on the back burner for a while. Now you will be even busier as school will be starting soon if it hasn't already. I am leaving in a couple days for New Zealand to see my Adam and Queen--can't wait. Take care. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, Lindc!  It's so great to hear from you.  I've missed you!  I'm glad you haven't forgotten me. I know it's taking me longer to update, but I'm working on them diligently.

I am so sorry to hear about your colleague.  I will keep all of you and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

As for the story, yes, things are definitely heating up. I am actually working on the next part of this story right now, and might have it posted es easly as tomorrow.  The Walkers will finally find out about their son.

And I have a new story, too; one that was supposed to have been written for the fan fiction challenge a few months ago.  But it happened right about when my father died, so that pushed everything back. As soon as I have it completed, though, I will start posting it.

I hope you have a wonderful time in New Zealand! I've heard it's a beautiful country. Thanks for checking in and reading this latest chapter. And thanks as always for being so supportive.  Please give everyone my love and best wishes.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a nice surprise to find a new part of the Wild Stallion - one of my favorite stories!

Looks like both "accidents" will finally be resolved, and I like the interaction between Brian and his uncle. Will be interesting to see what you have in mind for Brian at the end of summer ...

Can't wait for the next part, and the next, and .....   :-)

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for the words of encouragement. I'm very happy that you have been enjoying this story, and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. I do feel bad about not being able to update faster, but RL and my duties on here make that very difficult at times. Rest assured, though, it WILL be finished.  I am working on another part of this right now before heading back to my other WIP, in fact, so hopefully it will be posted very soon; that is my goal.

And as you can imagine, I have quite a bit more to tell, including what happens to Brian at the end of the summer, along with some surprises along the way.;) Thank you again for the support. I hope you continue to enjoy it. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Great chapter, I love the connection between Brian and Justin and it seems Jared has really  nothing to do with Justin's accident, witch is a relief :)

Oh this is what I have been waiting for, now Will and Sarah will finally get the truth about what really happened to Dale. Doug's father won't be able to bail him out once he's charged with Dale's murder.

Update soon my friend...I can't wait ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Thank you for bearing with me in between updates.  I know it takes a while, but I am constantly working on my WIPs to get them finished, and they WILL be done.  Sigh...just wish I could do it faster!  I AM working on one more part of this before I head back over to my other WIP, though, so it shouldn't be too long before I post again. Just want to say I was so excited to see this update. I've been waiting for more of this story and I want to say thank you for this. You made my day Kim!!

Not looking forward to what happens next as it looks to be painful all around for the Walkers the Taylors and Brian. Can't wait for it though.

Well done!!

Author's Response:

Hi, Susan!  I'm so delighted that you've been anticipating an update to this story!  I will have another part to post coming up before I head back to my other WIP; hopefully I can post a little faster now, too, now that things have settled down a little more in RL.  So glad that you are enjoying this.  Thank you for your kind words, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Well I'm glad Jared was vindicated, but to find out that his friend was responsible for Dale's death - that's horrifing.  How will they fix things and bring the bad guys to justice.  Wonderful to see Brian using his knowledge of cars to help out his uncle.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for reading, and for your comments.  You're so supportive of so many writers on here, and it is truly appreciated.  I know - what a predicament for Jared! And now the sheriff has to tell both Doug's father and the Walkers what has happened; not a pleasant task.  I have a lot more of this story to tell yet; I hope you continue to enjoy this one! This is amazing! Im so thrilled to know that there are still authors who take the time to write QAF fanbased stories. I just wanted to let you know im an avid reader of all of your works, and I just wanted to let you know everything you write is completely worth waitng for. I also wanted to say Im really sorry for your loss, I hope everything is alright and that you are doing well.

And thank you for your expression of sympathy; I really appreciate that.:)  It has been very hard especially on my mother these past two months, but we are learning to deal with it as best we can.

As for this story, I just wanted to reassure you that I have NOT forgotten about it. I have started on the next chapter, and hope to have it posted it soon. Like all my stories, too, it WILL be finished, do not fear.

Just finished reading this story up to now to the listeners--they love it. I was on your other site and listened to Randy/s interview. I was great. H e is such a nice guy. I am watching QAFon Showtime as they are running it again, still good as ever. The young gay people will get to see it in its entirety.. I got a kick out of Randy saying he was lazy, not cool, not a good dancer, a cat lover, and neurotic. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my dear friend. Tell everyone I'm so happy that they are enjoying this story, and please thank them for all their support.  I loved Randy's interview, too!  Learned some things I didn't know about him, and he seemed so relaxed and happy.  LOVE his laugh, too. Sounded so good to hear.  I am finally done with my teaching for the summer, so hopefully I can start updating a lot faster now.  Went away for the weekend and just got back yesterday.  It would have been my parents' 60th wedding anniversary last Friday, and I did not want my mom to stay here with all the memories, so we went to Gatlinburg for a few days. Almost literally choked to death yesterday, though, at a restaurant when I swallowed a piece of steak and it wouldn't go down. My mom had to thump me on the back about 4 or 5 times to dislodge it. VERY scary to say the least, but I'm fine now.

Anyway, I am working on a new short story that was supposed to be done for St. Patrick's Day, but I never got it finished in time. I hopefully will have it done later today or tomorrow, though, and can post it. And I'm working on another update to this story, and MAYBE a challenge story. But will have to wait and see about my time.  I'm betaing a lot of stories for others, too, and making banners, which might affect that.

Thanks again for checking up on me.  It really helps to know that everyone hasn't forgotten me.  Please tell Lee and Brian and everyone else that I said "hi" and thank them again for reading my stories. I really appreciate that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Just dropping you a note to say hi from all of us hoping you are well. We miss you and hope your life has quieted done some. School must be nearly over and soon it will be time to go see Randy. That will be fun for you. Have fun. lol

Author's Response:

Hello, my special friend!  I saw your note over on FF. net, but I'm glad you left one here as well, since I have no good way of responding to anon reviews over there.  Thank you for thinking of me, and for the note.  Hard to believe it will be exactly a month tomorrow since my father died. Still hard to accept in a lot of ways, but both my mom and I know we have to deal with it and continue on without him.  Really miss him, though.

Yes, I will be taking my 14-yr-old nephew with me on 6/25 to go to NYC and Randy's play (twice).  This month they're featuring rainbow-themed Playbills for Gay Pride Month, so I hope his will look like that, too.;)

I was hoping you would notice I had updated this story a couple of weeks ago.  I have been doing a lot of writing behind the scenes.  It does help me to cope with what's happened.  I have much of the next part of this written, but also a couple of newer, shorter stories that I want to post. Am hoping to post a challenge story before the 6/21 deadline that will be mainly humor. Will do my best. Also have a jealous Brian story in the wings that I meant to write for St. Patrick's Day, but with my father's sitution it got pushed back.

Please tell Lee and Brian I said hello, and thank them and everyone else for their concern and their prayers. I appreciate that very much. You are all so sweet and kind to me.  Thank you.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim! I’m so happy to finally be able to comment again. Exams were exhausting.

Every time you update one of your stories, it’s like a little beautiful holiday to me. I could spend every free minute reading your works – I wish they were endless!

I was really angry at Jared before, but when he came to visit Justin and stubbornly refused to leave, I was touched. I didn’t expect it. He truly loves his brother – it’s a shame something like that had to happen for him to finally get his head out of his ass and admit his feelings! This competition between him and Justin went too far. The police have come up with a good plan – I hope it will work, and Jared’s innocence will be proved!

I *loved* Brian’s protectiveness! He was so anxious and agitated, I have a feeling that if he had managed to catch Jared, to meet him face to face, he would have tried to beat him up. I also loved how Brian tried to persuade Justin not to trust Jared – I understand, he’s scared that Justin will only get hurt even more in the end.

Brian is so used to this kind of life already… he’s comfortable with it. I have to applaud you for creating such a wonderful, breathtaking atmosphere – I never liked detailed, long descriptions of nature, but you make them just the perfect length, and oh so beautiful. I used to believe I was a complete city-girl, but after this story, for the first time I feel that I’d love to live in a place like that, that I’d enjoy every minute of it. Thank you for that! I *loved* Brian’s feelings… he is falling for Justin hard, indeed! Probably he already has.

It was a beautiful chapter, thank you so much! I’m looking forward to the next one! And I’m so sorry to hear about your father… I don’t want to even imagine how I would feel. I’m amazed you go on writing like that – it requires extraordinary talent and power of will!

Thank you!

Author's Response:

Hi, Katrin!  As aways, you amaze me with the breath of your review comments. I always look forward eagerly to them. Thank you for doing that, and for the lovely comments about my stories.  I am so honored and happy that you enjoy them.:)

Yes, Brian is falling hopelessly in love with Justin.  In the next chapter, which I have written a lot of already, Jared's guilt or innocence will be revealed, along with some more information regarding Doug's involvement and motive in Justin's injury, in addition to some other revelations.  Also, there may just be a couple of surprise 'guests' show up in that chapter.  (I know, I am a big tease!).

I do hope to have that posted very soon, but I am also trying to submit a challenge story if I can get it done before the 6/21 deadline.  It will be mainly a humor piece with the boys in an exotic setting.;)  And, of course, I am intending on updating "My Heart's Desire" just as soon as I can, too.

Thank you for your kind words about my father, also, Katrin.  You are very kind.  I hope I can continue to write stories that you will enjoy for a long time to come.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Great chapter, and very interesting, I really hope Jared isn't involved in the accident and will be able to help. Brian and Justin are getting closer - but what will happen at the end of summer? And there is still Dale's horse waiting for Brian ...

Thanks for this update, and as always, I'm looking forward to more ....  :)

Ok, Brian, this is where the rubber meets the road. Come on...you can make the right decision here...lol

I think Aunt Sarah is gonna smooth the way, and if Brian doesn't f*&% it up, things could get very enjoyable...for them and for us...very soon!

oh - and please tell me that we are going to get a bird's eye view of Jared getting all he is due...in spades!

I can 't wait for this Brian - a little less suave...a little less mature - to experience real passion and yearn for more.

BTW - I think the little sub plot of acceptance is ingenious - neither Mom or Aunt Sarah batted an eyelash when they realized the draw between these two...love it!

great job - left me wanting more - much more! lol

Dam Jared he has certainly put the fox in the hen house and caused a stir. Poor Justin he wants Brian so much but he also wants love and respect and sadly Brian is not quite there yet. I love Emmett and I hope he sees Jared,s scheme for what it is. Great fic Kim and fast moving chapter.

PS have you finished the twins story or is it still between chapters?

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris! Thanks for reading and for the comments, my friend. I wouldn't have normally updated this one again so soon, but this part was supposed to included in the previous chapter, and as usual, it just kept growing and growing until I had to break it up.  Ugh!  I actually wanted to get farther than I did, but I had to stop it somewhere so I could move onto my other two WIPs.  So to answer your question about "Parent Trap,' no, it's definitely NOT done yet - I think my readers would kill me if I got to the point where they reconciled and then didn't let them consummate their relationship again.;)  So it will definitely be updated.  I have to update "My Heart's Desire" next, though, since it's been the longest since I've posted a chapter.  I do apologize for how long it's been taking  - my teaching job is really cutting into my time lately.  But they will all be updated again very soon, I promise.

If it's any consolation, Jared will be dealt with shortly, and Brian will finally figure out how to express how he feels to his beautiful neighbor the RIGHT way this time!  Thanks again for reading and for the comments, Chris.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Great start to the town social and looking forward to the next part, Kim. : ) *~* Hugs, Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet!  Thanks for the comments, my friend.  It's kind of a mess here right now, isn't it?  LOL!  But don't worry, I'll get them fixed up soon and Jared will get what's coming to him.  Emmett's a very smart boy - I don't think he will be duped for very long, even if he IS enamored with the arrogant, older brother.  Thanks again for the comments and for reading; you know how much that means to me.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OMG... where to start this review. So I got the email alert for FF, so I read it there, but on my phone, and I hate "writing" a review without an actual keyboard. So I knew I would need to leave a review when I got home. So here I am, clicking on MW and the first thing I see is that banner... wow! Be still my heart. Good lord, KP, I love that banner, so absolutely perfect and made me want to re-read the chapter with those exact images in my head... whew!

Ok, on to the review of the actual story. You've done it yet again, my friend, I loved this chapter and I think you captured everyone perfectly! I truly feel for Justin, but at the same time I feel for Brian too. We knew he let his other head do the talking, too much at times. I can see a number of things happening next, but I will be exceedingly curious as to where you go. Hopefully Emmett will prove himself a good friend and good observer that we know he is. And I hope you have something deliciously evil planned for Jared when everyone eventually finds out what he's been saying and they all confront him.

I know eventually everything will work out, but I so enjoy following the amazing journey's you layout for us to follow blindly and oh so willingly. I can't wait for more.

Cheers, Laura :) xoxo

Author's Response:

Hi, Laura!  "We knew he let his other head do the talking, too much at times."  Love that line - ha!  So true in Brian's case - open mouth, insert foot!  But not to fear, I will get them all straightened out, and Jared will get his just reward for all his anger and duplicity.  And I really liked the way the banner came out, too - so much better than the first one, I think.;)  Thank you for the compliment - and thanks for reading and for the comments.  I truly appreciate all the support that you give me, Laura.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OHHHH !!! Goody goody.  This brings back so many memories for me.  Poor Em duped again.  Poor Jus wants more than Brian can or won't give.  Em and Brian together--ugh don't think I like them apples.  This chapter was a nice long one--so good.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  So great to hear from you again.  Yeah, this one was not only long, it was supposed to be part of the previous chapter initially, but as usual I got carried away - ha!  I actually wanted to write more in this part, but just had to stop eventually so I could move onto my other two WIPs, which have been a little neglected lately.  I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter.  I know it's not what everyone wanted to see, but I'm heading that way.  Brian will soon figure out just how to express himself properly to Justin, and Sarah will be a big help in that regard, also.

Thank you again for reading and for the comments, Kym!  I really appreciate that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

You really paint small town life well.Brian really likes Justin they just need to talk. Thier " date " was sweet.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Cheryll, for reading and for the comments.:)  I think Brian's slowly becoming used to this almost 'other-wordly' experience of living out in the country; of course, Justin has helped him a lot to 'adjust' (wink, wink).  I promise to get them patched up soon, and I think Brian's aunt will be a big help there to make that happen.  I'll get this updated again very soon - thanks again, Cheryll, for taking the time to leave me feedback; I really appreciate that.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Luisa!  Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend.  Don't worry - I'll get the boys back on track very shortly.  Jared will NOT come out the winner here, and Em is very smart; I think he will figure it out sooner rather than later.

I'm glad you're enjoying "Parent Trap" as well.  I do need to update "My Heart's Desire" first, but "Parent Trap" is definitely coming up.  Thank you again for reading and for the feedback; I really appreciate that, Luisa.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Ah, the tension builds.  Brian sure didn't do a good job of holding on to Justin when he had him.  Oh, well.  Something tells me there's much more coming.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  I know - this was actually the second part of the previous chapter. And I still didn't get where I wanted to go, but after a total of about 21,000 words between the two parts, I knew it wasn't going to happen in this part.  I need to work on my other WIPs, so I reluctantly had to stop it there.  Thank you so much for reading and for the comments, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Please update soon~ JP

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara - nothing like a boy scorned, huh?  Don't worry, though; I'll bring the boys back to where they need to be soon.  Jared will be taken care of before this is all over with. Thank you for reading that *humongous* chapter and for the feedback.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I hope Jared's plan backfires on him, whatever that plan maybe......

Jared is just too idle.

loving it!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Yes, he's a real jerk, isn't he?  He may get what he wants very briefly - well, his SECOND wish, anyway, to break up his brother and Brian - but it will not succeed in the long run.  He will definitely have to be dealt with at some point.  And just what will Brian do or don't do when he finds out what he did with Emmett?  He is NOT going to be happy!  Thank you for reading and for the comments; I really appreciate that.  I'm working on the next part right now - this latest part is turning into a monster!  But I should have another part up very soon before I move onto one of my two other WIPs.  Thank you again for taking the time to leave me feedback.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: Jean (Anonymous) · Date: January 14, 2013 12:09 AM · On: Emmett's Arrival

I had never started this story when you first initiated it.  It could't picture Brian as a teenaged country boy.  But I'm glad I started readying it now.  You have done a good job maintaining Brian's and Justin's personalities in an alternate life.  The plot and character development of all the characters make is a wll rounded stroy that doesn't just revelve aroung justin and Brian' sex life.  Please continue a little quicker.

Author's Response:

Hi, Jean!  I'm glad that you had faith in me and gave this one a try.:)  It's the first story I've ever written from a younger standpoint, at least for Brian, so I was a little hesitant to tackle it myself.  But I have really grown to like the characters of his aunt and uncle - Sarah, especially - and I like the slower pace of this one.  I, too, enjpy a good old-fashioned PWP from time to time just like everyone else, but what really intrigues me is the slow buildup of their relationship.  So I'm happy that you're enjoying this one.

And I apologize for the slowness in updating lately.  I committed myself to writing a story for the LJ annual QAF Fan Fiction Exchange in mid-November, which meant I had to start - and finish - a complete story by 12/29, and it grew and grew into the 19-chapter monstrosity that is now posted over here ("I Could Have Shagged All Night.")  That, in addition to my full-time teaching job, has really slowed me down lately, so I am sorry it's taking me longer to update.  If it's any consolation, I DO have the next part almost completely written, and it will be posted before I move onto my other two WIPs.  I have written around 60 stories so far, though, and have never failed to complete one, so please rest assured that this story, along with the other two WIPs, WILL be completed just like the rest have been.

Thank you again for reading and for the feedback; it is very appreciated.  And I hope you'll bear with me until I can update it again.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Always so good to hear from you, my friend.  I'm actually working on the next part of this now; not surprisingly, I had to break it up into two parts due to the length.  Jared may be successful initially, but his moment of victory isn't going to last.  Thanks so much for reading and for the comments!  I'll get the next part posted very soon  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Ditto on the banner from me too! I really like this one. This takes me back to Brian in that acutal scene telling Justin about his infamous shower scene - haha. That image really fits in for this story.

:)

Author's Response:

Thanks, my friend; I appreciate the kind words.  I was very pleased with it when I got done; I like the younger look here of Justin, and deliberatly sought out a Season 1 pic of Brian, too, so he would appear on the young side as well.  And yes, you're absolutely right - it WAS from the scene where Brian was asking him if he was giving him a rocket countdown - LOL!  Thanks again.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  Great to hear from you again, my friend.  Yeah, poor, sweet, loyal Emmett's about to be snared into's Jared's trap.  But how long will he be duped?  And how - and when - will he find out?  Part of that will be answered in the next chapter, which does, indeed, cover the social.  I do love his character, too; I wish they had included much more of him and Justin together as friends in the show.  Thanks again for reading and for the comments, Kym; I hope you will continue to enjoy the story.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I think I need a pair of cranberry gator boots, they sound divine. I hope Emmett isn't so blinded by his feelings for Jared that he agrees to ruining a the beginning of a beautiful pairing. I really think this story would be a happier place with a tasteful double funeral, Craig and Jared really need to relax, a think a dirt nap would improve them in many ways. I'm almost willing to let Cranky Uncle Will live, as long as he stays out in the barn and only comes in to the house to sleep, better yet Sarah could sew up a nice quilt and he would be comfortable on a bed of hay. So much easier at feeding time, no sheets to change, just feed the bedding to a hungry cow. I hope the social happens soon. I have a feeling Brian is going to be feeling very social, just hope he picks a good spot, I think the rabbit barn would set the mood nice. The hog pen area might not be too romantic, the noise and smell might bother Justin. Ohhh, how about the tack room by the track, the smell of leather might give them ideas...Justin must know how to use a whip to get the best performance from his steed/stud.
Lori

Author's Response:

OMG, Lori, as usual I don't know where to begin with these comments - LOL!  "Dirt nap" - ha!  And yes, I think Brian might start to feel downright frisky at the social; the question is, though, will Jared's plan but the kibosh on that dream?  Hmmm...I CAN tell you that the social does occur in the next part, so we should find out most of it at least.  I don't think the hog pen will 'set the "moo-ed" here, though (see what you're doing to me now?  LOL!).

Thanks as always for your comments, my friend; they're almost worth writing a story all by itself!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I loved every little bit of this chapter from Brian confessing about the corn liquor to Emmetts cranbery boots and the scheming Jared. This is currently my favorite story of yours.

Please update soon!

ha! A moonshined Kinney is an adorable thing. His sneaky passionate kiss was wonderful. :] I always love when writers have Justin strong and stand up for himself, a weak Justin just does'nt fit. Someone needs to continue to knock Jared of his high horse that he's too lazy to even ride. This story is great!

'"I love the sound of a train horn," he told him as their shoulders touched.  "There's just something nostalgic about them, almost hypnotic.  It's peaceful in a way."-I agree. I grew up near a train that ran across our back woods, when we moved I had a hard time sleeping without the whistle.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tina!  I'm sorry I missed your review the other day; sorry about that!  I, too, like the idea of a drunk, singing Brian.:)  My grandmother lived in a home in Kentucky where the train ran right in front of her home, and I used to go there and visit with my parents and brothers and listen as the train got closer and closer as I lay in bed at night.  Perhaps that's why it's so nostalgic to me, too.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, Tina; I hope you continue to enjoy this story.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yup! we were waiting for the social. We can wait.  This Jared is a trip.  None of us like him.  Lee especially dislikes him as he reminds him of a kid he went to school with=not a nice kid picked on a lot of kids.  Lee said he beat this kid up in 8th grade and caught hell-but it was worth it he said and the kid stopped his attacks.  Who would have thought Lee was such a beast.!!  Ha!.  Where are you taking us next, young lady?  Nonie is doing fantastic.  She will have to stay out of work for six weeks at least.  She has come to stay with me for a while.  It's easier for me as I'm closer to work this way.  Three workers here have attached themselves to me as the rumor mill has it about my reading prowess.  I guess I have to include them in my "peeps".  We have a place to read now also.  Funny how things ebb and flow.  One young man has just purchased the 5 years of qaf.  It still amazes me how many fans this show still has after all these years so he is really turned on to your stories.  I have had him read several and he is hooked.  So if you get reviews from Sam-you will know who he is.  BB is good, still working hard and dating lots!!  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Hello, ever-growing Peeps!  You are so wonderful to find new recruits for my stories - I can't tell you how much your confidence in me means, lindc; thank you for all the wonderful support you've given me and continue to give me.  I hope I can continue for a long time to write stories that you and your friends will enjoy.:)  It gives me a lot of pleasure to do that.

Tell Nonie I am very relieved that she is doing well and that I am thinking about her!  That's wonderful news!  And tell Lee good for him for standing up to that jerk like Justin did with his brother.  As you can imagine, though, Jared is none too pleased at the moment, and that little green monster is eating him alive.  He will be using Emmett in a not-so-nice way coming up to try and drive a wedge between the two boys, but we all know whatever gains he makes will be short-lived.

It sounds like your new friend Sam is quite hooked on QAF just like me!  Tell him about the plans for the QAF con in LA next June; they're still working on it, but I'm very hopeful they'll pull it off.  He might be interested in attending - it was wonderful at the one in Germany to see all of them in person (except Gale - he'd better show up this time - grrrrrr!).

I'll be updating this very soon to include Em's arrival and the town social; tell Lee his favorite is up next!  Thanks again for everything.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I learnt something in this chapter too; you can’t tip a cow; but can you tip a heifer? LOL Yay, that’s the type of Justin I like to see, one that uses his brain and can see he has an advantage. What will this town social bring and how is Em following Jared around going to work to his advantage? Please update as soon as possible. Thank you for the long chapter.

Cheers

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! I'm so delighted that you liked this latest chapter!  To answer your question, I would imagine a heifer weighs pretty much the same as a cow, so in my scientific opinion I would still say that cow-tipping is out - ha!  The things I have to research for this story!  At least they have indoor plumbing; when I was growing up and we went to visit my grandmother in Kentucky, she had an outhouse for a long time; trust me, it was a loooonnng walk to get there when it was cold!:)

That damn Jared.....he just needs to realize that Brian has no interest in him at all especially after he lied about their only encounter.

Craig needs to take heed to what Jennifer is trying to tell him about his favoring one son over the other. Kudos to Justin for standing up for himself and reminding Craig what their family would be losing if he continues to be harder on him and coddles Jared.

Please update soon JP

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Thank you for the feedback, Sweetheart!  You're so faithful about that, and I do appreciate it; it's always very encouraging to me.  Yes, Justin can be quite feisty when he's stirred up, can't he?:)  Jared, I'm afraid, isn't done provoking his brother; I think it's just too much of a wound to his pride and his ego to let it drop.  Let's just say that the town social should be quite interesting in a lot of ways!

I'll get this updated again very soon; thanks again for all the support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OMG, this chapter! I LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! Brian's drunken antics were hilarious - the attempted singing, the moonshine bottle hugging, the cow-tipping attempt, etc, etc, etc... I laughed so hard, cause I could picture it so clearly.

Justin standing up for himself and standing up to his father was pure AWESOMESAUCE! I wanted to stand up and cheer. I love it when Justin is displaying his bravery and strength. It's one of the reasons why I love his character and this scene - way NOT to be a doormat! Just fantastic.

Can't wait to read about the social. This story is, frankly, exceeding all my expectations and I like it more with every chapter.

Cheers,

Vin

Author's Response:

Hi, Vin, my friend!  Wow - thank you for those wonderful comments; I appreciate that so much!  Yes, I suspect that a lot of readers were thinking Brian on a farm didn't sound too interesting or appealing.  Hopefully, though, they'll give this one a try in hopes I can change their mind.:)  I'm so glad that you're enjoying this story!  Jared is not going to let this drop; not before he tries at least one more time to snare Brian away from Justin, but he's too late - the boy is firmly hooked now (he just doesn't quite realize that yet - ha!).

I'll get this updated again shortly.  Thanks again, Vin - and thanks for being the wonderful person and encouraging friend that you are.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Ha- Brian is funny when he's drunk, but I bet he's going to have a whopper of a hangover the next day. Craig's favoritism of Jared over Justin continues to show, and Jared can't stand the fact that Brian has the hots for Justin. I think eventually his jealousy is going to bite him in the butt. Can't wait for the next update and I really want some blueberry cobbler!  ~*~ Hugs, Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet - me, too - and pumpkin pie, and strawberry shortcake and butter pecan ice cream... uh, where was I?  LOL!  Oh, yeah!  I think you're right - Jared's pride has been wounded, so he will have to lash out one more time at a minimum with some pretty dire results, at least in the short term.  But eventually he's going to realize he is wasting his time - Brian has found his match.;)

Thanks for reading and for the comments, my friend; I can always count on you for support.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello, my dear. I am so enjoying this story. As much as I worry about Jared and any of his machinations, I love the banter between our two stubborn boys. Justin is doing his best to keep Brian on his toes. I couldn't enjoy that more! I cannot wait to read more and see how this unique taming commences. At this point, not sure who is taming who, though. Excellent and fun update, my friend. *Hugsss*

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend - love that line about 'who is taming who' - so true!! LOL!  Thanks so much for the comment and for reading, too:)  *Hugs back*

Oooh.  A little heat between our boys.  Justin knows that he wants him, but made a good decision not to do it when Brian's drunk.  Good story.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sweetie - I thought readers might like this chapter a little more than the last one, since at least the boys were back together (that Brian's a sneaky little rascal, isn't he?  LOL!).  As always, I'm grateful for your support.  Thank you for taking the time to comment.:)  I'll get this updated again very soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yay! Brian saves the day... and the calf! Great chapter. I enjoyed the talk that Justin had with Vic and Brian's unexpected bonding experience with his uncle.

BTW, I wanted to let you know that while I am enjoying your story immencely, every chapter reaffirms my love for city living. A country girl I am definitely not. LOL!

Can't wait for the next installment.

Cheers,

Vin

Author's Response:

Hi, Vin!  Nice to hear from you, my dear friend.:)  I hope all is well with you and hubby.  Thanks for reading and for the comments; I don't think I would do too well with delivering a calf, either - ha!  I'm glad you're enjoying the story, though.  I'm working on the next chapter right now, and I'm glad to report that the boys are back together in this part.  You'll never believe what Brian is up to right now, though!  I hope you'll like it.  And I hope you and I get to see each other again soon - I'm suffering from Randy play withdrawal!  Take care and keep in touch.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

It's a good thing Justin has Vic and I hope the two of them can figure out a way to help his predicament.

Brian birthing that calf was brilliant. He may make a farmer yet.

This quiet unassuming story is still very much a delight. Thank you for the update.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra; what lovely comments - thank you so much, my friend, I really appreciate that.  I thought the birth of the calf was a good way for uncle and nephew to bond, and for Will to see that there are some good qualities in his nephew.  I'm well into the next chapter right now, and there will be a lot going on in that part, with several doses of jealousy mixed in involving several of the characters.  Thank you again for all your support, Sandra; I am very grateful for that.  My stories on LJ are getting so few comments lately that I'm considering not posting over there anymore.:(  But that makes your comments, as well as the other readers on this site, all that much more appreciated.  I hope I can continue to write stories that you will enjoy.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yeah!! I have been a patient girl waiting for updates.  It's here!!  Happy dance!!!  As I have said before this story takes me back to my childhood and roots.. I remember my gramps delivering 'BABY COWS' as I used to call them.  He helped deliver foals and lambs also.  I love this story so much.  Still waiting for a roll in the hay Ha!  Maybe the social will somehow help this happen-especially if they have some of the 'special' punch.  I love that Em will be coming to visit-that should ad a little spice to the story.  c ya l8er!

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  Your lovely comments made me very happy, my friend; thank you for the feedback.:)  I'm so glad that you're enjoying this story, and I do apologize for the rather lengthy wait (at least lengthier than normal, anyway).  My teaching is definitely slowing me down, but rest assured I WILL keep working on it, especially since we're just now getting to what I would consider the meat of the story.:)  Pardon the pun - ha!

I'm working on the next chapter right now, and the two boys will most certainly be featured together.  Not sure if I can promise you the much-anticipated 'roll in the hay' just yet, but I think there will be some parts that you will like anyway (wink, wink).  Thanks again, Kym!  I should have the next part posted fairly soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Go Farmer Brian! I myself grew up in the country so I know how tough it is to midwife for a cow. At least he didn't have to do his part in the middle of the night in January when the temp is below zero - which seems like when all our livestock always wanted to go into labor. Now, onto more B/J action, please. TAG

Author's Response:

Hi, Tag!  Thanks for reading this latest chapter and for the comments, my friend.  That DOES sound very frigid to me, so I guess it could have been worse.:)

I'm working on the next chapter to this right now, so it shouldn't be too long before I post it; and yes, the boys will be back together in that one, so hang on, I'm working on it.:)  Brian's about to discover the joys of some good, old corn liquor - LOL!  Thanks again for the feedback, Sweetie; I do appreciate it.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Nice long chapter.  Brian birthing a calf-that is one for the books-but at least it brought them somewhat closer.  Waiting for Em to arrive and the long awaited for social.  Should be a hoot with Em there.  Love him so much!.. Sorry to give you some upsetting news, but our ( THE PEEPS) life is just one bad thing after another.  Nonie had a  mild heart attack.  She is ok now, but still in the hospital recovering.  I'm going to take her home with me when, she is able to leave.  I don't want her to be alone in her recouperation.  When I am working our friends will take turns staying with her.  I feel so bad she has had more than her share of pain and grief lately.  It is finally taking a toll on her.  Don't mean to be maudlin but thought you might want to know as you are like a family member to us all.  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend - wow, what else can go wrong?  I'm very sorry to hear about Nonie, but glad to hear it was a mild one and that she is recovering.  Please send her my best and tell her that I will be thinking about her.  I know she will be in good hands with you and the peeps, though.  I still believe that some things happen for a reason, and that's it not an accident that you are all out there together to sustain and support each other.  I know that with the deep friendship and love that you all have for each other that you will be able to overcome whatever comes your way.  Good things are coming for all of you, I just feel it.:)

Please tell everyone I said hello and that I consider it a great honor that you consider me part of the 'family.'  That means more to me than any review (although those are great, too.:)).  I imagine, BTW, that Lee is absolutely fascinated with the election going on; Ohio has been extremely popular lately (to our chagrin - I can't wait until all the commercials and robocalls stop!!).

I'm working on the next chapter of this story right now; Brian's about to discover the joys of corn liquor - ha!  Take care and give everyone my love out there - and an extra hug for Nonie.:)  *Hugs* ~Kim

I learnt something today; the difference between a cow and a heifer. Thank you. Don’t forget you promised a little moonshine with that Sunshine. I love the way we still haven’t found out about Dale. LOL I hope Em makes a play for Justin then both Brian and Jared could be jealous. Jared because he secretly loves Em’s attention or he still wants Brian. Maybe he thinks Em is cute always following him around. Oh wait that’s another story. LOL. I’m loving this and can’t wait to the next chapter.

Cheers

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for your ongoing support of my story (and my others as well); I really appreciate that, Flossee.:)   The things I have to research for my stories - ha!

The 'moonshine' is coming up in the next chapter - promise!  Once again, I got too wordy to include it all in this part, but I will be updating this again before I move onto another story.  BTW- You're kind of on the right track regarding Emmett - there will definitely be a lot of jealousy to go around coming up soon (whether warranted or not).  Thanks again, Sweetheart, for the comments and for all the support; you're very kind.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Oh it's going to be fun having Emmett around.....although Jared might run for the hills screaming lol.

Will and Brian definitely had a unique but rewarding bonding experience. I do believe they are starting to have a greater appreciation for each other.

Brian is still desperate to find out what really happened to Dale and while Justin doesn't want to be the one to give him the details, he may not have much choice.

I can't wait to see what happens at the town social. Update soon please JP

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Glad you're still enjoying this story!  I feel bad that I can't update as quickly as I would like, but the full-time teaching is really slowly me down right now!  But be assured this one and all my others will continue to be updated until they are finished.:)

Yes, Brian and his uncle are slowly warming up to each other; and Justin will have to be the one to finally fill in the missing details regarding Dale's death. I suspect that will happen in the next chapter.  The town social should be quite interesting, but not before a brief 'interlude' between the boys first involving some moonshine and some cows (NOT heifers - LOL!).

I will update this again very soon - thanks again for all the support, Tamara; I really appreciate that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.  Not any direct B and J interaction in this one, but it's setting the stage for a lot of that to come in the next chapter, which I should be posting within a few days.  And yes, make sure your bovine terminology is correct - ha!  The things I have to do in the name of 'research' - LOL!  Thanks again, my friend, for all your support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Well I can tell you've been hanging out in the barn. One practice I worked at was Large and Small animals. I didn't do any on the farm work but I often answered the phone when farm calls came in. We had some clients that were very modern farmers and others that were much more old fashion type. One call I took was from a very old guy he send send the vet, got a cow here who cast her withers....WTH did that mean. Good thing our regular large animal guy knew, she has twisted her stomach, usually called displaced abdomen. But my best one was the guy who I'm sure had a mouth full of cud in his mouth when he called. I was sure he said, first grass heifer needed help, actually calling about a first calf heifer in the same situation as Checkers. No one let me forget sending them out on a first grass heifer...
I can't wait to see how exciting things are going to get once Em arrives. Will me make a play for Brian...Or lure Jared into the deep part of the lake and drown him...I can't help it, I have to try and get rid of that lazy bum. I can't wait to hear what happens at the town social. I hope Justin isn't too sore from all the rough racing action, if only he knew of a person with strong hands to massage his pain away...purely medicinal reasons you understand, of course full naked massages are the best...medical medical ok a little just cuz it feels good...
Lori

Author's Response:

Oh, Lori, you crack me up every time!  The tales you tell me about your work are pretty hysterical as well!  You're kind of on the right track - there is going to be a lot of jealousy to pass around coming up in the next chapter, but not before a little more one-on-one time with the two boys that involves - wait for it - more cows!  LOL!  But none giving birth - perhaps a heart attack, but no calves (how's that for a teaser?).  Em will definitely factor into what's going to happen, but he may be more of an unsuspecting pawn so to speak than a malicious instigator (unlike Jared).

I'll be updating this again very soon.  Thanks for all the extremely entertaining comments, Lori!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Thanks for the kind words, my friend.  I always loved Vic's character and really hated it when they killed him off; I know Sharon Gless mentioned the same thing at the con.  I don't think "Rage" ever envisioned himself as a bovine life saver - ha!  I'll be updating this again very soon, and it will include a lot more interaction between our boys.:)  Thanks again for all your kind words and the support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim, I've been looking forward to this update, I think this is probably one of my favorite stories that you're currently writing. I can't help the feeling that True Blue had something to do with Dale's death since he was once owned by Brian's aunt and uncle.

LOL, loved the part when Will needed Brian's help pulling the calf, I could almost see Brian's eyes popping out of his head. Great update ~*~ Hugs, Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet!  I'm so glad you're enjoying this story, my friend.  I'm getting a big kick out of writing this teenage B and J story, and especially placing Brian so much out of his comfort zone.:)  Rage to the rescue - ha!  BTW - you're kind of on the right track regarding True Blue; there will be more of the explanation of Dale's death coming up in the next chapter, along with more cows!  LOL!  (No births again, though).. I just hope that Brian and his aunt and uncle get closer... Anyway, as always, great work! On another note, I wanted to tell you that I have taken the liberty to save some of your fics (my favorites) in my computer and turned them into PDF format so that I can read them in my Tablet whenever I go out of town... I hope you don't mind.... They're that good! :D Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter to be up! Hope to read you soon! Kisses!

Author's Response:

Hi, Fátima!  I'm so glad to hear from you again!  I do hope that things get better for you, and I don't mind you converting them to a PDF format at all to read - I'm very honored that you like them well enough to do that!  And I'm happy that you're enjoying this story.  I'm enjoying writing B & J in this unusual setting.:)  I'll work hard on getting this updated soon.  In the meantime, I really DO have to provide a nice, long update for "Heart's Desire" for those who have been waiting for it.  Thanks again!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Enthusiasm not waned at all, my dear! Still reading although the reason I put it off for a while was because I was busy with a lot of stuff and before I knew it you were 5 chapters in and...well....yur chapters are long. So, being already hopelessly behind, I decided to wait for a time, when I could hunker down, brew some decaf and settle in for a read. That time is now.

Touche on the Brian's medusa problem altho, I make no qualms that i'm hopelessly out of touch with reality and am doing FU s (fantasy universes). You on the other hand are very good  at canon and RL situations and here I just thought.....wow...Brian has the sexual Midas touch, doesn't he?

Re: the Dukes of H comment: that was meant to be positive. I LOVED the Duke boys and the shows and don't consider then dense at all. They were fast, smart, and solved mysteries and were good with a bow and arrows! I only meant there was a similarity in the fact that they:

A: Live in Kentucky

B are dark haired and serious and blond and free  spirited....mmmm the things I wanted to do to Bo Duke and him to.....

What? Sorry...where was I? Um...yeah...good chapter there....*wanders off to return some empties to the store*.

Author's Response:

My chapters are long? Hey, I resemble that!  Sigh...I should make them 2- 4,000 words like most 'normal' writers; perhaps then I would get oodles and oodles of more reviews that way and at least I would update faster.  I just can't seem to make myself do that, though, unless it's a one-shot.  It is what it is... I hadn't thought about the Dukes that way - I forgot one was a blonde and one a brunet, so I suppose there is a similarity there.  I actually heard Tom Wopat sing once with the local pops orchestra and was astounded by what a good voice he had.  But I promise not to have Brian break out in song a la Oklahoma - ha!  BTW - I'm glad you clarified what a "FU" was - you had me going there for a second.  I almost see that statement as a sort of dare, fella; I may just have to do my OWN 'fu' one day (in the most respectful of manners of course - not THAT kind of 'fu.').

Hope once you get your nickel a bottle deposit in your pocket you'll wonder back over here and check the rest out - I don't think you've been to the swimming hole yet (wink, wink).  Thanks for the comments.

Dear Lord! Only in the QAF multiverse, could Brian travel to the deserted sticks of Kentucky and land next next door to not one but two of the gay vers. of the Dukes of Hazzard. And get laid to boot!  Siiigghhh!

And grief stricken or not, sorry, I think the uncle is being a major dick. Both of them need major grief counseling....a town 30 mins away.... and a shot of freaking valium for the uncle. Just MHO

Author's Response:

So.... not sure if this is a good review or a bad one....your enthusiasm seemed to have waned since the first chapter....  Yes, I suppose you have to suspend just a little bit of belief here with the scenario (but at least I don't have snakes coming out of Brian's head. - LOL!:)  I'm not sure I agree with you about the uncle.  Yes, he is being very hard on Brian, but I think there's a good reason for it.  Not only is he still grieving over the loss of his only child/son, but he has Brian around as a constant reminder due to the similarities between the two of them.  And technically Brian hasn't gotten laid just yet - and actually won't for a while unless you count the blow job coming up.  Justin isn't just going to give in that easily as you will see if you elect to continue reading up to where I am now.  Dukes of Hazzard?  Hmm... perhaps, but I think neither boy is dumb or dense; stubborn, maybe and conceited in Jared's case definitely!

At any rate, thanks for taking the time to comment, Jon; I appreciate it.

Sounds like you are working way too hard, but I'm happy for you that you have found a new place.  I know how nice it is to have a place to call your own.  So sorry to hear about Nonie's mother, but I suspected it wasn't going to be good from what lindc had told me.  Please give her my sincerest condolences

And there is no need for you to apologize for not reviewing and/or reading; I LOVE hearing from you, but your personal life must come first.  I DO hope the job continues to go well for you and that things settle down a little eventually.  Please take care of yourself, Lee!  And yes, either your story is up next, or it will be soon afterward.  I'm toying with finishing "Dog Days" first since I'm so close to the end so I can devote more time to my other three stories then, but do not fear; I have not forgotten it and will definitely be getting back to it very soon.

Please try and have some fun out therealong the way with the "Lucky Devil" and keep in touch when you can; I'll be thinking about you.  I'm sending you a big hug and my love, too.:)  ~Kim

nice long chapter, very interesting-the boys are getting closer.  the town social should be interesting for them if it waits that long.  Brian seems to be quite adament in his quest for fulfillment. that's our boy though younger or older.  it's in his genes, jeans, Hee Hee!!  Our life disrupted agan. BB off to another hospital in the area for another teaching mission.  i am off for a few days as we have been bombarded with cases.  worked 48 hours with only three hours sleep.  so now i can get cought op on my sleep-not getting any younger you know.!!  have been reading 50 shades of grey-what a book.  have you read it??  somethings in it and specifics remind me of some stories here.  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc!  Wow!  That's a lot of work without much sleep - I'm glad you've finally got a chance to unwind and relax.  I have certainly heard about "50 Shades of Gray" but haven't read it yet.  I've read mixed reviews about it - you'll have to let me know your thoughts when you get done.  From what I've heard about it, I can defintely see some similarities, though.:)  Hope Brian doesn't overdo and gets back to his normal schedule soon (your Brian, I mean - ha!).  Please tell Lee I said hello and that his favorite story should be getting updated soon - it's either next or right after I work on Tricky's story (I'd like to wrap that one up if I can).

Take care of yourself!  Tell Nonie, too, that I'm keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

You are evil, you know that?! I need to know what happened to Dale!

Glad the boys took the time to really talk and got a good perspective of the other. Poor Justin, that's a lot of pressure for a kid! Of course, the flirting and that HOT kiss don't hurt! This social should be interesting...

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan! Yes, I know I'm evil; althought this time it wasn't really intentional - after writing three chapters on the same story, I thought I really needed to stop and move onto at least for a while to my other stories that are being sorely neglected, especially "Heart's Desire."  The only question is - will Brian be able to WAIT until tomorrow night?  Hmm...

Thanks as always for reading and for your support, my friend; you know how much I appreciate that.:)  And enjoy the DVD!  I haven't watched it yet, so if I see myself in there I'll let you know so you can see what I look like.  Someone told me I'm in there somewhere!  Take care and have a great weekend!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Berry picking seemed extremely attractive all of a sudden.

I knew when I read that I was in for a treat. Brian still reminds me of Wile E. Coyote, LOL. I loved that berry splattering scene!

I also love the tension between Brian and Justine, but at least this time they were more open and honest with each other -- just not about their feelings about each other – at least verbally.

Justin is under a lot of pressure. I don’t see a way out of it for him. That was a very tender scene between the two of them. With all the pressure Justin has, it’s a shame he lies in fear of his father’s disapproval and craves his attention.

I can’t wait to read about Brian and Justin the town social. I wonder how Jared will handle seeing them together.  And I’m curious to find out how Dale died.

Please update soon. J

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra!  Yes, who thought that blackberries could be such potent weapons?  LOL!  I liked your description, too, of Brian as Wile E. Coyote - that certainly fits - beep, beep!!  And the boys are slowly bonding together, athough Justin is still a little skeptical about Brian's true feelings and motives here.  I'm not quite sure that even Brian knows what he's getting into, but they will continue to explore their feelings toward each other as the story progresses.  Thank you so much fo reading and for the comments, Sandr I really appreciate that.  The town social should be quite 'enlightening' for a LOT of people.  I'll work hard on getting this updated soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Ahhh, yes - hot B/J kissing. So nice. Thanks for posting another chapter again so quickly. Can't wait to read about their date to the social. TAG

Author's Response:

Thank you, Tag; not quite the 'smut' you wanted (just yet!), but I'm slowly getting there.  And will Brian be able to wait until the social or will he want to do a little 'private socializing' of his own beforehand, despite what he told Justin?  Hmm...Not sure if I can resist that possibility! Thanks again for reading and for your comments; I really appreciate that.  ~Kim

LOL! I love playful Brian, and this chapter was great. Please keep writing :))

Author's Response:

Hi, Madeleine!  Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment; I really appreciate your support!  I also enjoy the bantering between these two, but I thought it was time I threw Brian a bone here and gave him a little of what he's seeking.  I think Justin's still undecided on his true motives, though, and will need some more time before he's convinced of Brian's real intentions.  I'll be updating this again very soon; thank you for your support.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I am glad that Brian and Justin talked.

Great chapter, looking forward for more.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Lynn!  Yes, I'm trying to nudge their friendship forward just a bit now, but I think Justin's still not convinced about Brian's intentions, so it will be a while before they come to a mutual understanding.  I'm going to enjoy working on their progression, though, as well as how Brian's relationship slowly changes with his aunt and uncle.  Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment, Lynn; I'll get this updated again very shortly.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yay this is great; Brian is gaining some understanding of Justin’s situation. Dale is still a mystery; I hope Justin wasn’t involved in any way. I like the fact they got to talk and kiss plus a shirtless perspiring Brian; what a treat. Great chapter, thank you.

Cheers

Author's Response:

Thank YOU, Flossee, for reading and for the comments; I'm sure as a fellow writer you know how much that means to me.:)  Dale's death will be explained more in the next chapter (I really wanted to squeeze it in here, but as usual I got too wordy again - ha!).  And I see Emmett making an appearance in the next part, too.:)  Thanks again for the support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Another amazing chapter and how annoying was Brian for Justin lol Brian is going to get that information on Dale and also then start worrying about Justin lol. Angst to come I suspect Kim XX Chris

Author's Response:

Now Chris you know I never write angst - ha!  The town social should be quite interesting - I see a lot going on there between not only the boys, but Craig, Brian's aunt & uncle, Jared, and even Emmett, who is about to show up.  Dale's death will be explained in more detail coming up, and I think a certain older Taylor brother will not like the heat almost pouring off his younger brother and their sexy neighbor boy.  Thank you for reading and for the comments, Chris; you've been such a long-term supporter of my stories almost from Day One, and I really do appreciate that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

what a nice surprise to get a bonus chapter here out of rotation - and I loved the way you brought them to a place of getting to know each other on a deeper level while still having that delightful UST between them - always leaves us yearning for more

I'll be away for a few days on retreat - so if you post and I don't respond it's not that I'm not interested! Can't wait for more on every front...

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle!  Yes, I wound up with three chapters here, but not really intentionally; I just got so wordy that I couldn't keep it to one chapter (imagine that - LOL!).  I do love to write UST between these two, and this is no exception.  They are slowly bonding together, but Justin is not yet quite sure how to proceed with his new neighbor.  Hope you have a safe trip and a good time - take care and thanks again for reading and for the comments.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim
