I'm rereading this story again and wanting to say that it's still fantastic.  So well written and... ahem... hot.  ;-)

Author's Response:

Hi, Frances! Please accept my apologies for not responding to your comments. I'm usually very conscientious about that, and I'm sorry I overlooked them. I'm so happy that you are enjoying this fic, and I wanted to assure you that I have not forgotten it. I'm working on the next part right now, so hopefully it won't be too long before I have it updated again.  Thank you again for reading, and for the support; I really appreciate that! *Hugs* ~Kim

I've already read this chapter twice so I must apologize for reviewing so late. I have be searching for days for a good romance on TV and in published fiction and couldn't find any. And then DUH, your name popped in my head as well as a few other QAF writers. I spent any free time I had today reading The Parent Trap since I wanted a completed story.

Now back to my current favorite, you did a spectacular job of portraying just how much Brian loves Justin by how he shot out of the house after hearing the gunshot. I thought it was beautiful how concerned and protective he was. I was also in awe of how well Craig loved his boys and how he was the hero this time instead of the villain he normally is in pics. You also  made all the main characters realistic and likeable. I could about this bucolic place and people for years to come.

Author's Response:

Hello, Sandra! Always good to hear from you.;)  I'm glad you liked this latest chapter. I imagine everyone probably expected Brian to be Justin's savior, but I thought Craig would actually be a better choice here.  I want to reunite the two brothers eventually, and this seemed like a good start in that direction.

Even though Dale's death has mainly been resolved now, I still have a few more issues to be concluded before I'm done with this story, so I hope you will continue to enjoy it and read when you can. Thanks as always for your support! That means so much to me. *Hugs* ~Kim

I love your fic! And it's so well written <3

I can't wait to read the next chapter!

But... There is something that bothers me. Justin, after yeeeeaaaars of training, loses against Brian? Whereas it's his first "real contact" with a horse? Err.... It' a little easy, isn't it? I mean... It's not possible... Well, at least, it's what I think.

Anyway! Update soon, please!

Author's Response:

Hi, there! Thank you for reading this story, and for your kind comments; I truly appreciate you leaving your thoughts after reading this latest chapter, and I am happy that you are enjoying this story.

I see your point about Brian. You may be right. But the way I looked at it, Justin is still recovering somewhat from his fall, which would put him at a slight disadvantage, and in a lot of cases the horse's speed could be the determining factor. Dale used to race True Blue and win with him; so while Brian certainly doesn't have the same training at all as Justin or Dale, I think if the horse was bonded to him strongly enough, and wanted to race again fervently enough, with Brian's raw talent and love of speed, it might be possible for him to triumph this time over Justin.

Would he be able to do that in a fair race with a fully-recovered Justin?  Likely not, and I will be exploring that a little coming up, although they would never race against each other officially, since Justin would be in a more advanced class of drivers.  Hopefully that explanation is a plausible one.;)

At any rate, I hope it doesn't detract from your enjoyment of the story, and I greatly appreciate you leaving me your thoughts. I hope you continue to enjoy the story, and promise to update this just as soon as I can. Thanks again for the support.  ~Kim

Craig is officially my hero here! I only wish he was more like that in canon. He adores his sons, he’s so protective and loving. Like Brian :) And Jennifer is a perfect mother. This was an amazing chapter, I enjoyed it very much. Brian and Justin clearly don’t intend to let each other go. I sense we’re near the end of this eventful journey?

Author's Response:

Hi, again, Katrin!  Yeah, Craig is a much nicer guy in this universe.;)  And the brothers can finally start to reconcile, even though I think there will always be a sense of competition there. But we all know where Brian's heart lies now.;)

As for the story, I still have a few more things to wrap up, so maybe 4, 5 more chapters? I still have some issues to settle, like Brian's wish to race, his aunt and uncle's reaction to that, as well as what will become of the two farms and the two boys.  I'm so glad you're still enjoying the story!  Thank you for all the feedback and the support, my friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yep.  I'm very much hooked.  I'm not sure why everyone is worried about Justin going to college though... Brian can just follow him... or maybe go to college himself.  I bet Brian's never thought of himself as a college boy.  ;-)  Thanks for read.  Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Hi, Frances! You are so kind to read and review; thank you for doing that.  Only by knowing if others are enjoying what I write am I able to gauge interest, and it is very motivating to me.;)

I'm very happy that you are enjoying this, and yes, while Justin has another year yet before he would head off to college, I think both of these very-much-in-love young men can surely find a way to make their relationship work.  That will be one of the things I will be exploring in the rest of the story, along with the brothers' relationship, Emmett, Brian's racing hobby, etc.

I will get this updated again just as soon as I can. Thank you again for all the support!  *Hugs* ~Kim

Way to go Craig! For some reason I was expecting Brian to be at the other end of the shotgun... and I wasn't entirely sure how he would handle that.

Happy to see Jared & Justin patching things up, and glad Jared is once again back in the family fold.

Great update.

Author's Response:

Hi, Trish! Well, I thought about Brian being the lifesaver, but I thought in this case it was more important to establish Craig's love for his sons, and for the two brothers to bond, so he seemed like the best choice for it.  Glad that you are still enjoying this story! Dale's death and the circumstances surrounding it hasve essentially been resolved, but I still have some issues to settle yet.

Thanks again for the support, Trish! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi Kim,

Good going Craig! It’s a good thing that gun was under the bed. I love how Brian is with Justin in this, so attentive and very protective. I have to wonder though how they’re going to deal with the separation when Justin goes to college or maybe Brian will go with him?

Loved this chapter, Kim, as always :  ) looking forward to the next one and congrats on getting over 500 reviews! *Hugs* Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet! Thank you for reading, and for your comments, my friend. I am SO behind in answering these, and also getting caught up on stories. Started my new job today, and it's going to obviously cut into my time. Ugh.  But I do appreciate very much your reading and the comments.  Thanks for your congrats, too; I am very honored by that, and I do hope the readers continue to enjoy it.  Looking forward to checking out your latest chapter of your story as well. Thanks again.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Sry am late sprained my hand lifting supplies--stupid. Am in a soft cast for two more weeks. Have to type with one hand-not too hard. Such a good chapter-so much happening-brothers back together and the bad guy dead. It will be interesting to see where you take us next-still a lot to be resolved. Lee is hoping up next is his story-such a dedicated waiter Ha! lol

Author's Response:

OMG, Lindc!  So sorry to hear about your sprain! I think a see a worker's comp claim on the horizon (sorry, can't help it; used to work for an attorney that handled those - ha!).  I hope your hand heals quickly.  Considering you are typing with one hand, I REALLY have to thank you for taking the time to leave your comments.  They are greatly appreciated as always.  I do still have quite a bit to answer in this story, so I see it proceeding a least for a while yet. I AM working on a new Tricky story, though, and hope to have that up soon.

Get well soon!!  Thanks again for all your support. And yes, tell Lee I will be working on his story next.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Thank you for this chapter. Craig to the rescue....I love it. I've notice that a lot of readers (including me) are woried about Justin going to college . But shurely Brian has to continue his education too so it doesn't meen they have to separate at all.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Hello, Mariana! Thank you for continuing to read this story, and for your feedback; that really helps me to stay motivated.;)

As for the story, Justin actually has one more year of high school to go until he leaves for college, so now that Brian is staying with his aunt and uncle, that hopefully gives them time to arrive at a solution to their dillemma; Brian will be torn between wanting Justin to pursue his dream, and wanting him to stay there, so a mutually agreeable decision will need to be made.  In the meantime, I have some other issues to resolve, so I see the story continuing for a while yet.

I do hope you continue to enjoy it, Mariana! Thanks again for the support, and for the feedback; it is greatly appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow.  To think that Craig is the rescuer.  Now they just have to talk with the sheriff and get rid of the body.  Where do Brian and Justin go from here?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! As always, I'm grateful to you for reading, and especially for the comments; thank you.;)  I think I surprised quite a few readers with Craig's intervention; I thought it was fitting in this case, and hopefully now the brothers will be on better terms, since Jared at least partially redeemed himself.;)

There's still quite a bit to go yet before I plan on finishing this story; I do hope you continue to enjoy it. Thank you again for reading and commenting; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Oh my good for Craig stepping up like that in defense of both of his sons. Glad that creep is gone and that Will and Sarah have a little more closure. Not at all surprised Brian got to Justin as quick as he could. Happy Justin and Jared shared a moment I do hope their relationship improves now. Happy Brian and Justin got a few moments alone I am curious as what will happen now with them. I do hope the end of this isn't as close as I think it is now. Can't wait for more as always Kim!!

Well done!!

:)

Author's Response:

Hi, Susan! I'm so happy you're still enjoying this story. I don't think most readers would have thought of Craig being the protector, but I thought it was fitting in this case.  And yes, I do see things improving between the two brothers.

I think a lot of readers are curious as to what will become of B & J, but Justin actually has one more year of high school before they will need to part; hopefully, a certain brunet can work on a solution to their dilemma in the meantime.

I have a lot more to cover yet before this is all said and done; the resolution of Dale's death is but one part of it. I do hope you continue to enjoy it, Susan! Thanks again for all the support. Hope things are well for you at home.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

Now I can breathe again...thank goodness Craig had the presence of mind to act quickly to save his boys. It's also good to see the brothers are trying to mend their relationship. I just hope Brian and Justin can find a way to stay together with Justin’s upcoming departure.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Now you knew that I wouldn't let something terrible happen to our boys.;) Although, I do love a good hurt/comfort fic, as long as it's temporary.;)  I thought it was important to reestablish Craig's role in his boys' lives, too, and to help bring them back together.

As for college, Justin actually has one more year to go, since he's still a junior. But that issue WILL be addressed coming up before the story's concluded.  In the meantime, I still have some other topics I would like to cover.

Thanks again for always being as supportive as you are, Tamara. It means more to me than you know, my friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

I love this chapter Kim! So wonderfully descriptive, allwoing us to take a look at  their inner emotions. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next :) Thank you

Author's Response:

Fantastic chapter! Brian and Justin are so beautiful together. I hope that they remain together even when Justin leaves for college ;)

xoxo

Author's Response:

Hi, Cait! Thank you for continuing to read and comment; I truly appreciate that.;)  I'm delighted that you are still enjoying this story.  Justin's eventual move to college is going to be covered, along with what's to become of the two young lovers; but in the meantime, I still have quite a bit more to tell, even with Dale's death being resolved.  I do hope you continue to enjoy it, Cait!  I'll get this updated again soon. Thank you so much for all the support. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Lovely chapter.  Nice to see Brian declaring his love.  It's hard to do that without making it sound corny or out of character, but it fits here.  Nicly done.

PS:  Going to the PRIDE parade in Chicago tomorrow!

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend. I hope you had a wonderful time at the pride parade!  Thank you as always for your comments. I'm happy you enjoyed this chapter.  And yes, It CAN be hard to keep Brian IC, but hopefully I didn't have him stray too far out of his comfort zone here.;)

Thanks for all the support!  I still have a bit more to wrap up, so I hope you will continue to enjoy it.;)  ~Kim
