Now that's a holiday tale with a twist that has all the hallmarks of being one read over and over on the holiday.  Thank goodness Justin recognized the handwriting!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Sweetie!  I'm going to try and write a Christmas story this year; hope I find time to do that.  I always hate to pass that one up. Thank you for reading and for all the comments!  So greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I have to write here about my horrible evening on Saturday.  my computer died so am borrowing a friends at work.  A few of us went out for dinner and wanted to go dancing after.  We were on our way to this little club we frequent when we saw two big galoots harrassing two young gay men.  We didn't know they were gay until we heard the conversation.  I thought they were going to start hitting them.  The horrible things they were saying to these young guys was horrific.  They called them everything under the sun.  My friends said lets get out of here-but me being the mouthy person I am wouldn't leave.  I butted in and told them off in a very calm voice(i was told) I don't remember-I was so mad.  One of them started toward me screaming for me to mind my own business among other things.  I get really pissed when someone gets in my face screaming.  I called the police while he was screaming at me.  My friends came back as they had started to leave and we put up a front.  I don't know if these guys were on something or not but they kept up their tirade for quite a while.  The police finally came-but when the punks saw them coming they left..  I don't know if they were ever caught or not.  I made two new friends and they took us and bought us drinks at a gay bar they were going to.  I guess I made quite a hit with their friends.  I am still upset how really cruel people can be to others who are different.  So that's my little sad tale with a happy ending. So that's why I say homophobia is still alive and as bad as ever in some places.  lol

Author's Response:

Wow, you are so amazing; that is one unbelievably cruel but at the same time promising story.  Cruel to think that there are still people like that in the world who can't just let others live their own lives, but at the same time so wonderful and heartwarming that you stepped in when you did.  I do think that people are placed sometimes in certain places to be in effect a guardian angel for someone else, and you were definitely there for those two young men.  That only convinces me even more of how special you and your friends are, lindc.  Those are definitely two very lucky human beings that you were there and that you took a stand.  I am so proud to consider you a friend!  Please take care of yourself.  You really are a wonderfully compassionate person.  The world would be a much better place if there were a lot more like you and your friends.  My hat is off to you.:) Thank you for confiding in me about this.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Hope you had an awesome New Year! Looks like our Justin did :o) Well written as always.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Yvee!  New Year was okay - I'm kind of boring in that respect - LOL!  But the YEAR itself should be quite exciting in June when I go to Germany for the convention - can't wait!!  I've seen Randy in person in two of his plays now but never Gale; can't wait to see them together!  Thanks again for all your support of my stories, Yvee; you're very kind.:)

Justin’s smile threatened to rival the fireworks that promptly exploded in the sky above Manhattan as the clock struck midnight and he flew into Brian’s outstretched arms, just in time for their lips to come together for their first passionate kiss of the New Year.

Perfect! It's nice the boys are bringing in the New Year right.

Happy New Year!

Author's Response:

this is probably a little unusual review.  we  would like you to tell marny, a reviewer, and i think a good friend of yours that we are keeping her and her family in our prayers.  we, all of peeps, have suffered with this disease in our families.  we see this every day at the hospital and it really is upsetting.  tell her to keep stron and take one day at a time.  it helps that way.  lol and *hugs* to her from all of us.

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friends; that is so kind of you, but I'm not surprised; that is the kind of people that you are.:)  I have never met Marny, but like you she has been a wonderful supporter of my stories, so I feel like we are all friends nonetheless.:)  Thank you for thinking of her and for being a wonderful group of people.:)  You really are amazing.:)

BTW - I am working on the next chapter of "Framed for Christmas," which I hope to have up shortly.  I have to return to teaching today, though, so that will unfortunately slow me down somewhat.  I also have another one-shot that I wrote for Live Journal for a "QAF Gift Exchange" as a gift to another LJ user that I should be able to post here shortly, so I hope you will enjoy that as well.

Thanks to all of you again for your constant and abiding support - that means more to me than you will ever know.:)  I hope all of you have a wonderful and peaceful New Year.  And tell Lee I hope he enjoys his new 'wheels!' *Hugs*  ~Kimberly

I couldn't read the fluff yesterday, almost didn't read it now. I haven't read anything in two days. I got a call from my dad after I read your other story (2 days ago). It's really bad with my stepmom, she may only have one week to live * sniffs * . Stupid cancer. It took my mom 9,5 years ago and now my stepmom. Poor dad.

But your little story is wonderful.

* hugs *

Author's Response:

OMG, Marny!  I'm SO sorry, dear friend!  I'm sure you must be wondering what more could happen to you! My mother has had two different forms of cancer, but thankfully she seems to have caught both in time, and I have two sisters-in-law that have had breast cancer, one of which is just now beginning her journey with it, so I have some idea what you're going through.  It is a horrible disease that has snuffed out way too many lives.

I wish I could be there in person to give you a great big hug and to tell you that things will get better, but a virtual one will have to suffice for now.  Please keep the love your family has for you in your heart to help sustain you and I will pray that your life is infused with much peace and happiness in the future.  Things WILL get better, Marny, I know it.:)  Please hang in there, and know that I will be thinking about you.  *Huge Hug*
