Loved it!!! I thought it was very sweet of Brian to make sure Justin had a Merry Christmas afterall. Hopefully, he will keep up the holiday spirit next year as well. And I think the decorations in the loft would have been more than enough for Justin, but the trip to Aspen? Icing on the cake!!

I loved this the first time I read it and still do. I sometimes forget about how miserable Brian may have felt around the holidays due to his past experience compared to what Justin's. The holidays had to have been festive before he came out. For Brian to go out of his way to make Justin happy in spite of his misgivings was a Christmas present in itself.

I can see Justin drooling. Brian had to have that present put together early on. It shows that he knows what Justin likes and that he did appreciate the gift Justin got him. Really enjoyable story.

I remember this story well! I think it's one of my favorite Christmas stories, pehaps because in an odd sense I can relate to Justin's feelings of sadness and melancholy during this time of year as he's walking the street alone, thinking that Brian didn't share in his feelings about the holiday. And that moment when Brian turns around and he's wearing Justin's gift to him - a very nice twist.:)
It keeps Brian in character while still showcasing how he feels about Justin without having to actually say the words. Thanks for sharing this over here - Merry Christmas, BTW!
