This is a great story! Waiting for continuation. And...I totally disagree with Justin's parents and some reviewers that it is in the baby's best interest to give him up for adoption. No way, it should be done only where there is no other option. I do not think that the situation as it is warrants this; a child always wants to be with their parents and Justin seems to be prepared to do his best.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm personally a huge proponent of adoption, having seen what happens first-hand to children who are raised by people who are not old enough/mature enough to be parents, but Justin would most certainly agree with you. It would take something pretty extreme to make him put Luke up for adoption (and no worries, that's not going to happen).

The next chapter's going to be up in about an hour!

I've been out of town for a week with limited computer access and have just now had a chance to read what you have written so far.  This is an amazing story - I am totally captivated with it!  You have remained true to their characters but have placed them into a fresh idea.  I will be eagerly waiting for updates to your story - thank you for sharing this with us!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying it. This was my first venture into the QaF fandom, written back in January, so it's always a relief to hear that characterizations are good. Updates are every Wednesday and Saturday (there's a new chapter going up in sbout an hour). I hope you stay with me through the whole thing!

Thanks for this terrific chapter.  Lots and lots of action, and a

wonderful description (writing)  of emotion.

We get to see the other side of Brian.  The one who holds out his

hand to help others, to protect others, a person who really cares.  He

doesn’t show that side of himself often, but we know it is there.  Justin

needs helps ‘big time’ and it is long passed time that others find out

who could help him.

Thanks again for the chapter, it was terrific.

Author's Response:

Thank you! This chapter certainly featured a lot of intense emotions and fast-paced action, and was really, really fun to write. Plus, this is the first time in the story that we really see Brian's heart of gold peaking through. *g*

Thanks for reading and taking the time to leave feedback--it's my favorite thing in the world!

that was another great chapter, and i especially loved that end part where brian is telling justin to go to his kid first...  wow, it was just such a great line... and the fight... all around great job with this, i cant wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

Thank you! It's totally Brian to be all noble in the heat of the moment (and of course, by the light of day, he'll completely deny it). I get the feeling he's going to be a bit cranky when he wakes up in the morning, though...

Next chapter going up on Saturday--look for it then!

"Funny," Brian said, after a long moment of silence. "I thought you were saying 'fuck me' over there on the sofa, not 'help me find a place for my kid and I to live'."

Justin is not mature enough to be a father. I may have to agree with his parents.

Good chapter!

Author's Response:

Justin... is learning. The whole escapade with Brian was a huge mistake, and he kind of knows that by the end of this chapter, but won't be able to fully process his mistake until things settle down a bit. Justins parents do have a point, in that Justin isn't equipped for parenthood, and they have an extremely valid point about adoption. One of the major themes of this story is Justin learning how to be a father, and showing the gradual evolution of his parenting.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the chapter, and I hope that you continue to read the story!
