OMG!!!

This was very insightful. Michael and Justin did look at Brian as if he should ave been perfect -- their superhero.

Poignant and brilliant!

[Four fucking years can't just outweigh the twenty-nine that came before.] So true.

I always wondered why Justin had such a problem wrapping his brain around that particular reality. Love your take on this!

It is Justin's amazing patience that makes HIM a superhero.

These two stories show a potential for real growth between Brian and Justin.  If they had talked like this before Justin felt he had to leave they might have been able to work things out.  It is funny that it takes something extreme on Justin's side for Brian to put himself forward to let his true feelings show. That and he seems to need to be drunk so if needed he can deny his comments when sober. The things they’ve said  might hurt but opens up communication between them.

I agree with another's comment.  This is a good beginning to a series.  As good as both stories are they feel not unfinished but hanging [like cliffhanger hanging].  I guess it is because when you read something good that you don't want to end you can't help wanting to know what is going to happen next.  I want to know what Justin is going to do next because the ball is definitely in his court now.  I love stories when they banter back and forth and then find a way to come to terms with each other.  It makes the reunion so much sweeter because they’ve gained a new understanding of each other. I think you could do a lot with this as a series. I hope you change your mind and consider continuing.  It isn’t often that one short story can grab readers and get them to beg for more and more and more.  You write a good interpretation of Brian and Justin and you make me want to know more about the journey you could take them on. Regardless thanks for sharing these two stories.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your comment. It really means a lot.

However, I'm afraid this is going to be it. I really appreciate everyone who is asking for a sequel and I'm more than grateful that  you guys like my stuff enough to want to read more. To me, writing a stand-alone works very differently from writing a series in terms of story-telling. I've always felt that adding a sequel "just" for sequel's sake will only water down the impact of the original story. Especially since these two were "only" mean to be gapfillers and not an alternative universe.

Anyway... I'm not saying there won't never ever be another part but for now, this is going to be it. For now, I have no idea how this could go on. I hope you'll enjoy my other pieces in the meantime.
