Hi there!

I left you a message few days ago but it seemed you didn't get it.

I have been working on translating this story now and would like to ask you some questions, because there are some parts I'm not able to catch their meanings. Would you mind to give me your email address so that I'm capable of contacting with you.  I really want to finish the translating work as good as possible. Hope you can see this review~~~~~

Sorry me again ~I just found that I read your story' Chocolate kisses' before and I really loved it! So surprised LOL!

Author's Response:

I am happy you enjoyed Chocolate kisses, thanks for reading. I hope to revisit that universe in the coming year. Happy New Year! :)

Reviewer: April (Anonymous) · Date: December 29, 2014 05:21 PM · On: In the Blue of the Evening

I'm glad that this story is finished when I find it. I'm sure I'll love it. I haven't been a QAF a fan for a long time and just started on August. So I have quite missed a lot of things about the two guys, it makes me feel a little bit sad.

I love to read AU fictions and I hope I can have your permission to translate this story into Chinese and share with Chinese fans(we also have our own websites like this)

Thanks anyway!

And the new year is coming soon, have a wonderful time!!

April

Author's Response:

Hello April, I'm always happy to see new readers, I hope you are able to read lots of wonderful Brian and Justin stories to fill the void. :) I love writing Alternate Universe stories for these boys and hope to do so for a while to come. Yes, absolutely you are free to translate this. Brian and Justin are a couple that should be shared with everyone. *Hugs to you* Mandi

Wow -- what a nice Halloween surprise to log on and find this story finished!  I only read completed stories, so have waited a while for this one.  Hopefully, I'll get to read it in the next week or so.  :-)

'Noir' is a fave of mine, so I fully expect to enjoy this; but, whether or not that's the case, I just wanted to thank you for following through and actually completing this for all of us who were waiting.  Just in case you were wondering, your efforts to get this done are definitely appreciated!

Thanks, again, and all the best to you!  :-)

Author's Response:

I do apologize for the long wait. I cannot thank you enough for your appreciation; I was worried readers had lost faith in me. I hope you get a chance to read this one and that you enjoy it. Noir was a very fun genre to explore. -Smiles & Hugs- Mandi :)

"I tell ya we've had us a real humdinger of a fine time, but it's over."

You outdid "youse" self. I hated to see the end of this fic and yet it was one that should not have been missed and so worth the wait.

Thank you for the ride.

Sandra:)

Author's Response:

"youse" self-LOL Hello Sandra! I am pleased you enjoyed this one. I had fun writing it. I extend to you my warmest gratitude for supporting this story until the end. ~Hugs~ Mandi :)

"It was only time. It wasn't gonna hurt.

Only it did. Like a motherfucker."

"And ain't that just the icing on his crazy cake."

This was not only enjoyable to read because of it's humor but also because it's a darn good mystery.

"I think I have mood poisoning. It must be something I hate." Hahaha!

Author's Response:

This is something that came out in a sliver of a moment. I had thought 'mood' and immediately went to food (which all roads usually lead me toward, or wine... lol) then it came to this line. Glad you enjoyed it. I write to please. :)

It may have taken a while, but the story is finished and in fine fashion.  The bad guy got caught.  Justin hired his detective for full time employment, deep into the night.  And Kinney is as happy as a clam.  Well Done!

Author's Response:

Thank you for following this until the end. I've truly appreciated you taking time to leave your thoughts throughout. ~biggest of hugs to you~ Mandi

OMG, HOORAY,  I have been waiting for someone to write a sex scene that is different from the same old, same old, "Brian, please, now, beg" that we seem to be stuck in at the moment, and not only have you achieved it  "Grunt...Gasp...Groan...God...My name, over and over" you have done it with hilarious brilliance.  Thank you so much Mandi. :)))

I haven't read anything like this before.  This genius prose is blue ribbon material.

BTW, thank you also for the ~hugs-n-such~.  Did you know hugs are the perfect gift?  One size fits all and nobody minds if you return them.  LOL

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

Gosh, Whew! I have dreaded this POV sex scene since before I started the fic. I was very pleased with the outcome and I'm soo happy you were too. You have left such kind words in this review I'm so honored. :) A million thank yous!! I have never heard hugging thought out that way, I love it. ~Here's some more hugs for you~Mandi

Hey Mandi :)

"I could've benefited from Melanie's presence right then... She can really brighten up a room when she leaves it" &  "He was talking in complete sentences and capital letters" these are two of the funniest lines that I think will stay with me even after this fic concludes.

"Now, we're cookin' with gas"& "train of thought" I use this type of speech regularly so now I'm wondering if I am starting to sound like a very old detective.  LOL

I love the wimpy Brian as you just want to kiss it better for him, don't you.  Oh, may be that is just me.  LOL

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

It's pretty neat to know that something born from my little mind may stick with you after reading,I'm honored. Maybe you do speak like brian or maybe he speaks like you. You could be a trendsetter of awesome things. lol Also, it's not just you friend, where do I get in on that better kissin'? :) ~mandi

Emmett a newsman.  Makes sense.  I'm thinken that the bashing is the connection between Cody and Justin.  That Justin was bashed in the past.  Lots of clues and I'll be reading to see where they lead.

I didn't know what the broderick or chin music was, thanks for clearing that up.  Blake and Ted how perfect are their characters!  Shandaleer might have a beef, but was it with Ian?  Could the bookie be behind it all, after all 2 million is a lot of money.  Could it be the mob didn't want to pay out?

Author's Response:

I love how in to this story you seem to be delving, it makes me very happy. Your dialogue is amusing and pleasing to me as an author. I love Blake and Ted, glad you do too! ~smiles~

You've managed to tie Horath to Deb.  Neat job.  We still don't know who the other guy is that Ethan was meeting.  But now we know that he was supposed to be playing at Popperz.

Author's Response:

Just want to thank you again for reading. I'm honored you spent the day reading my words. Warm fuzzies are a thing. That are real. :)

Thank you for the end notes.  Looks like Justin might get a bum wrap, if the coppers find out about the will.  Who would have thought that the chin rat had that much money.  Love the way you introduced Gus, he's one smart cookie.  Mikey can't be to far behind if Gus is into comics.

Author's Response:

You are very welcome, I know this needs the lingo glossary. I'm just hopeful the word context is enough to help out a little on the words. Some I've never heard myself, just really wanted to set the mood. I hope I've done it ok. Thanks for the comment.

Welcome back Mandi! I got a ff.net alert but for some reason I can't see the new chapters. Anyways, I am incredibly happy to see you are back to being able to write. As always your wit with words is incredible. Poor Justin, he's way too pretty for the Hoosegow!

Is there any reason you drag this story 3.5 years.  No thanks.

I'll wait until you finish (if you do).

Author's Response:

Of course there is a reason. One I'd prefer not to share where all the world can read it. Real life issues are something entirely separate from plotlines in a fictitious world. I apologize to readers who are irritated with my gap in continuation, but I'm still writing for those I've kept waiting and for myself. It is a beautiful bonus to get to share with others who love this fandom as much. Though I appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment, I'd better appreciate you waiting to read the story; rather than just critique my time management. If you give it a shot, that's great. If you don't,that's fine. If you are too frustrated to read it, I understand. If something is not your cup of tea, please don't drink it just to tell me it tastes bitter. ~mandi~

Popperz and The Locker Room as club; priceless.

"He was so far in the closet he was finding Christmas presents" I like how you referenced that at the end.  Unfortunately, the line still brings back a terrible memory for me of when I actually found my Christmas present.  LOL

Thanks for telling us this fic is complete as I will now add it to my favourites.

"Whaddaya want?" "Justin."  Haha Brian is Brian in any universe.

"Gus curved behind me and retrieved a hat" Whew, for a split second I thought we were going to have a cute Gus moment.

I'm so excited to have another chapter to read.  Thank you for adding them so quickly.

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

Yes! I feel like Brian Kinney was born to be a Noir Detective in another life, another universe...this one even. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a 'cute' Gus, like sappy or baby-fide? Lol I'm sitting here trying to imagine what's too cute and if I do it. I waste a lot of time wondering things that don't generally affect my daily life, I lose hours this way :) Thank you for reading and reviewing. ~hugs~

"Preferably with the same lock with which I usually imprison my sunny disposition" I love clever wit.  I am astounded at how you achieve it for almost every line.  Kudos to your talent.

Why are you writing fiction here for us when you should be writing the next Dragnet movie?

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

Wow you're too kind with this review. I have started several times to write other things, but my mind always brings me back to Brian and Justin. I think Gale stretches out in my brain, his long limbs taking up all the room. :) ~hugs~

Nice of Horvath to send a juicy, niave Justin, Kinney's way.  It appears that we will see other characters in future chapters.  Like Lindsey.  Does that mean there's a Gus?  Enjoying this.

It's always makes me smile, literally...(I'm doing it now, I promise) to hear that I have managed to bring one out in someone else through only words. Thank you for both the read and the review. Its truly appreciated. I hope to have the next chapter finished by early next week. It's a little crazy maybe but  this story has the shortest chapters, yet they always take the longest to get out. I have it completely mapped out to the very end, and I assure you there is finally an end in sight. I only pray I can continue to amuse. :P ~Mandi

It's just so fresh, along with riveting from first word to last. The ending, always leaving me yearning for so much more. Truly enjoying this, my friend, more than I can possibly say!!

oh, how you tease us...I can't wait for Brian to begin his searching on Justin's body - I know it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, as we pick up clues along the way - this story continues to pieak my interest and keep me coming back for more.

'I liked Babylon. There, a queen beat a straight...every time.' - still loving the on-liners ... for me they are the star of this story ... at least until the fireworks begin :)

Hello, my friend - I have been remiss for a few chapters reviewing because of my own stories; I just want you to rest assured that your work is greatly appreciated by me.:)  I certainly know how it is sometimes to get hundreds of readers and only a few reviews, and while I've been told it's the readership numbers that are the most important, I beg to differ.  They certainly gauge interest, but they are not the balm to the soul like good, old-fashioned reviews full of accolades are.  So I am making a point of telling you what a tremendously creative writer you are.  You are so brilliant at coming up with poetic descriptions of events and circumstances.  I am still so in awe of your writing skill.  I hope you continue these for a LONG time to come, dear.:)  Thank you for all your hard work in producing these - you are a author deserving of a different-colored ribbon all your own!:)

Author's Response:

Goodness I can't believe all of the reviews I have missed. I have to say WOW to this. I am humbled and honored that you believe in my talent as a writer as much as you do. It amazes me to hear such strong praise from you, a beautifully skilled wordsmith. :)I do hope I can continue to produce stories for this fandom as I think Brian and Justin deserve a million tales. I too truly appreciate the care and time you put into writing them as incredibly as you do.Thank you from all the places in my heart. :) Mandi
