I miss the cliffs ... LOVED them when I visited YEARS ago. Wish I could go back as an adult to revisit.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie - I hope I can see them one day, too.:)  Getting ready to head back to the States from Germany (at last).  Sorry to go but also looking forward to being back in my own bed - and not having to pay for hourly internet - ha!  Thanks for the comment.:)  *Hugs*  Kim

You know, this Adam character needs to be dropped off in the middle of the interstate and run over with the RV.  He's seriously getting on my nerves!  I hope they realize what he's up to soon.

Oh this is so funny!  Glad they found out about the money and are exposing Turner for what he's done.  He and his stooges are going to regret crossing Brian Kinney.  Apparently they didn't do as much research on the former "Stud of Liberty Avenue" as they should have.  Nobody embarrasses him or his family and lives to tell the tale!

Poor Tony.  I feel for him, but like Justin keeps saying it wasn't so long ago that Justin was in the same boat.  Brian changed his mind about marriage and Fin could very easily do the same thing.  He just needs to be patient a little while longer.

Read that teaser you put in the last reply and you've piqued my curiosity.  Got to get some reading in today and get caught up.  This story is getting good!

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  Yes, I enjoy watching father and son going on the offensive when it comes to those two morons and Turner!  Adam is actually the real wild card right now (emphasis on the 'wild' part...).  His duplicity will be exposed very soon, though, and in a shocking way.  Glad you are enjoying the story, my friend.  Thank you again for all your support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Holy shit!  Ok that was bad.

I hate it when Brian and Justin fight.  Especially when Brian lets his pride and ego get in the way of seeing what's really going on.  Yes, Justin made a bonehead decision that could have easily gotten him killed (just like dumpster boy), but he did it to save Brian because all the rest of Brian's so-called friends thought he was guilty of the crime.  You do what you have to in order to protect the person you love.  Brian would have done the same thing.

Glad he finally calmed down and saw the situation for what it was.

And Fin is so right.  Brian would never be interested in either one of those losers.  For a one time fuck, yes.  For anything else, no way.  And he never had to force himself on anyone.  They always fell all over themselves to get his attention!  Come on!

Author's Response:

Ha!  I agree with everything you said, but what a couple of dimwits to think that they would be believed.  Don't worry - father and son are about to fight back.  It may have some repercussions that they do not consider, however (how's that for a teaser? LOL!).

Thank you again, my friend, for all the comments - that is what keeps me writing.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Oh geesh!  This Turner character can really pick his friends, can't he?  Brian is going to have a shit fit when he finds out these two bozos are working for Turner.  I can only imagine the fallout!

The whole thing is really brining up some old hurts for Justin.  From everything Craig put him through to the bashing and the bombing, he's having to relive a lot.  Thank goodness Brian is there to help him deal with his old memories.

I've always wondered if Stockwell had something to do with the bombing.  Knowing how he felt about the homosexual community on Liberty Avenue, and especially Babylon, it wouldn't have surprised me in the least.  And now that he's once again fighting Brian and Justin there's no telling what he's capable of.

Loving this story!

Nita

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita - I know - what a bunch of scumbags!  Justin's residual hurt over his father's treatment of him will come back up again later - there is so much I want to address in this story!  The plot will be moving back home soon so I can start working on some of the other plot lines.  Thank you again so much for all your encouragement, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OMG I love Fin O'Connor!  That was pure genious!  They didn't know what hit them by the time he was finished.

Poor Adam and Stockwell.  Things just did not go their way.  Boo Hoo

LOL @ Brian in the WalMart parking lot.  And Justin has him completely whipped!  Brian knows it too.

Glad each couple got some alone time.  They needed it after they day they'd had.

Another good one!

Nita

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  Well, I had to find somewhere that would accomodate the RV - LOL!  It kind of reminds of when Brian had to accompany Justin to the Goodwill in "Roughing It."  I see Fin as a very strong individual, just like Brian, but someone who is vulnerable when it comes to his son.  That will come to the forefront soon when Adam makes an unexpected move (don't want to spoil it for you.)  Thanks again for all the wonderful comments, Nita; I appreciate that so much.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I am finally back!

Ok, these two are freaking me out with everything they have in common.  Carnegie Mellon?  Really? LOL

I have a feeling Brian is either going to have to start eating some stuff he never would eat before, or he's going to be a very hungry campaign manager.  Sausages and chocolate chip pancakes aren't gonna cut it! LOL  And Justin knows this.  Shame on Justin, Tony and Fin for ganging up on the poor man!

On a more serious note, I baffles me how "intelligent", "mature", and supposedly "sane" people can make such asses out of themselves when it comes to someone's sexuality.  Hey, like Brian has said on more than one occasion, if he's not fucking you then it doesn't matter!  Get over it!

And he needs to send Adam home now.  Pack his shit for him and drop him beside the road in an out of the way place with no phone and no money.  Let him get home the best way he can.  Serves him right if he's hungry, thirsty and lost for a while.

Another great chapter.  Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.

Nita

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita!  I'm so glad to hear from you!  I hope you had a good weekend, too.:)  Yes, Adam is a real snake and he's not going to stop anytime soon -he's just going to go from bad to worse unfortunately.  I do enjoy writing about the similarities between the two couples.:)  Tony and Justin have become fast friends as father and son try to bond a little more deeply, and Brian and Fin's relationship will be evolving quite a bit throughout the story as you will find.

Hope you are doing well, my friend.:)  Thanks as always for reading and for your lovely comments.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

hi, just rearead your prequel and this story... I really enjoy it. I like that it is detailed and interesting beyond the bedroom (though that is NEVER some hardship to read, lol). I am looking forward to your updates and am interested to see how Brian's business fares in his absense and is affected by his efforts as a campaign manager. Also, Justin's desire for a child is still dangling there unvoiced.

I'm also eager to see any paintings Justin shows from his honeymoon and experiences on the campaign trail... I love to see him show what a success he is, and having Brian being there to support him.

Im sorry for your illness. Blood infections are horrible. My mom was in ICU six weeks last summer and on antibiotics for 6 months before they could positively say they nixed it. Worst part was, she got the infection during a realitively easy kidney stone removal surgery!!! Eat well and of the foods that boost your immune system and help repair the damage antibiotics themselves cause... I wish you well and a quick recovery.

Author's Response:

Hi, Michelle!  Thank you so much for your wonderful comments; I really appreciate that.  And thank you for the good wishes.  I am doing SO much better now - almost back to normal.:)  Sounds like you know what I'm talking about.

You are correct about this story, too - there are a LOT of angles I haven't been able to cover yet, but I will.  In the next part I will be moving the action back to the Pitts and to Harrisburg to start including that.  And I appreciate your comment about more than the bedroom - there certainly is plenty of sex in my stories, but there is a lot more to tell between them, and I think the rest of the story makes it more interesting.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave me your thoughts.  I will be posting a new (one-shot) hopefully later today and then updating "Tame the Wild Stallion" next, followed by this story.  I promise to get it updated just as soon as I can.  My students graduate in one week, so it's quite hectic for me right now.  I hope you will bear with me in the meantime.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

AHHH, I need to know who Stewart's taking down with him!! Glad Fin's okay, poor guy!! And poor Brian, knowing that knife was meant for him. You can tell how far Fin and Brian have come in their relationship. Maybe not your conventional father/son, but it's there. This is really one of your more edge-of-your-seat stories and I love it!

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan Rose!  So great to hear from you again.:)  I'm happy you're enjoying this story.  Yes, Brian and Fin's father/son relationship is a ever changing one, but I think both are becoming more involved with each other and realizing that they do care about each other unlike Brian's 'other' father Jack.  Thank you for the compliment on the story - I still have a lot to tell, so the story will be moving back to the Pitts and Harrisburg more in coming chapters.  I promise to update this very soon - I'm feeling much better now after my illness and my students will be graduating in two weeks so that means more writing time!  (After the QAF con in Germany, anyway)....Thank you again for all your support of my stories; I am very grateful for that.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Sorry i am soooo late with this review but i am in sin city having a blast.  I borrowed someone's laptop I had to put mine in the laptop shop as i think there is a virus lurking there somewhere. Won some money, not much, but saw to die for shows.  Cirque dedicated to the Beatles was wonderful.  Saw some semi scandelous shows. I love hunky men with little on, don't you?  I just knew mr. smart pants would win the bet.  Most of us thought it was Brian or Adam somehow. Now we have to take the boy to a concert.  I will tell him it better be something we want to see too.  Ha! Ha!.  I'm really glad Fin is ok-but he has to be as this story is about his campaign after all. Hope Parent trap is next.  Have to go pack as my flight leaves quite early tomorrow.  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc!  Ha - Lee said you would be fit to be tied when you found out who got stabbed and he was right!  He might just become insufferable at some point now  - LOL!  So glad you had such a great time; I would love to see the Beatles tribute, also.  BTW - why would you think that I like scantily dressed men?  After seeing QAF they would all appear to be over dressed now - ha!  I'm feeling much better now - finally got the IV detached late Thursday and am going back to work on Monday.  Still have a little residual pain from the pleurisy and get tired a little too easily, but I think that will improve in the next few weeks.

Yes, Parent Trap is up next; I have most of the chapter written already but need to finish it first before it goes to my beta.  It should be posted in the next few days, though.  Have a safe trip back and I'll be looking forward to seeing where you take the boy for his concert.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello just wanted to say that I loved this update and am so glad that neither Brian nor Fin were hurt badly. Thank you for your superb writing - as ever. Also I am very pleased to hear you are feeling a little better. I am hoping the rest of your recovery is quick and painless. Take care. I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment of parent trap!  Xxxxxx

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Kate, for reading and for the comments, as well as the well wishes.  I am doing so much better than last week; went back to the doctor yesterday who said my lungs are clear.  Still have some residual pain around the ribs and get tired a little too easily, but I'm quickly getting back to my normal self (thank God).  Thank you again for your kindess, Kate, as well as your being such a regular supporter of my stories; that means so much to me.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Thank you for the chapter.  I hope this means that you are feeling much much much better.

There is a piece of me, much like Tony and Justin, that wouldn’t mind all the much if the campaign just went away.  I know it can’t be, and I know all the stated reasons it much go on.  But – remember when Fin was talking so lovingly about his son, he didn’t mention one word about Gus, his grandson. Why – he doesn’t really know him.  Why – the campaign has gotten in the way.  The two of them, Fin, Gus (and make that 3 with Tony) would have such a great time together.  It sort of makes the reader want to shout out, “forget this sh*t, you have now have a family to enjoy.  I know I know I said it before, this cannot be (for now!).  But.......

     Again, thanks for the chapter.

     DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David! As always your comments are so thoughtful; I truly thank you for the care you take in expressing your opinion.:)  I can see your point - the campaign has been quite tiring for all of them.  If it's any consolation, I do intend to move the action closer to home now (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) so I can interject some more 'human/candid moments back into their lives.  I think they definitely need some quiet time now.

I may take your advice and include that in an upcoming chapter - thank you for that idea.:)  I have a lot of other areas to address yet, so I will be slowly reintroducing those issues back into the story as I interweave them into the campaign.  Thank you again for your continuing support and encouragement of my stories, David.  I AM feeling much better now - I appreciate your concern.:) *Hugs*  ~Kim

I loved all the canine references you included. I will have to send you an email about some Irish dog tidbits. I am glad I finally found the time to start this story. I'm sure it will be another epic novel filled with adventure and true love.
Lori

Author's Response:

Hi, Lori! Thank you for the feedback, my friend; you know how much that means to me.  Would love to hear some more 'furry tales' from you anytime.:)  Just got a home visit from the nurse - said my lungs sound good; I go back to the lung doctor for a checkup tomorrow and am hopeful he'll finally give me the green light to get rid of this IV I have attached to me 24/7 (the last dose is scheduled for this Thursday), so things are definitely looking up.  I'm feeling much better now, thank God.:)

Thanks again for being such a wonderful supporter of my stories, Lori!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OMG Can I go with them?  I love that RV!!!!!!! WOW!

Loved the way Debbie stood up to her boss and refused to serve the two slimeballs.  He'd better learn and learn quick that without Debbie Novotny he has no diner. Turner sure knows how to align himself with the worst of the worst.

Laughed at Brian and Justin getting ready to leave. Great scene. Also laughed when Justin found out Brian was going to drive.  I think I would have been a little scared too!

Adam is bad news.  Hope they figure out who the mole is before he does too much damage.  If anyone can neutralize him it would be the O'Connor/Kinney men.

Oh yeah, one more thing...You made me love Brian a little more with the remark about Republicans.  Right there with you, Brian!   Tell it like it is!

Nita

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita!  Thanks for taking the time to comment on each chapter and provide me with your thoughts - that is very helpful to me with the story and I appreciate that so much.:)  The world of politics does create some slimy bedfellows, doesn't it?  The RV, BTW, is an actual RV, or at least a combination of more than one RV.  I think this particular one cost $140,000 - wowsa!  I hope you continue to enjoy the remainder of what I have written - it is moving along now.  I will be moving a lot of the action back to Harrisburg and the Pitts going forward because there are a number of issues that I have pushed aside for the sake of the campaign that still need to be addressed.

Thanks again for all the comments, Sweetheart; that means a lot to me.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

You had me laughing with the image of Brian going into the headquarters for the first time.  Knowing how bad he hates even Justin's clutter, i can just imagine the expression on his face!  Too funny!  And then that slogan and sign.  OMG!  And once he finished with them, the staff had no idea what had hit them.  I love Brian Kinney! LOL

Craig is an ass.  I've said it many times already and I'll keep saying it.  And no, it will never stop hurting Justin no matter how many years go by.  That's something you never get over.

So glad Tony and Justin are going on the road with them.  SOMEBODY'S got to try to keep them in line!  This is gonna be fun! LOL

Reviewer: buttercup32409 (Signed) · Date: May 07, 2012 09:13 AM · On: Taking Chances

Ok, first of all I have to comment on Craig's logic (or lack thereof).  He says that Brian being Fin's son explains why he is gay because he obviously inherited the gene from his father.  But in the same breath he says that Justin is no longer his son because he is gay, meaning he thinks Justin is choosing to be that way. Typical bullshit coming from a homophobic prick.

Not surprising to see the two lowlifes joining forces.  Craig and Jim Stockwell are 2 of a kind

And the very end (if it is what it seems to be) just highlights a part of Brian that none of his "family" have ever been able to see.  Not Debbie, not Michael, not the 2 ignorant bitches or any of the rest of them even though it is obvious.  Brian Kinney is a very good man.

Another wonderful chapter.

Reviewer: buttercup32409 (Signed) · Date: May 07, 2012 08:50 AM · On: The Game Begins

Well shit!  Although I figured the bastard would get involved (and i believe you had even told me he would) I guess I was hoping he wouldn't.  That is going to destroy Justin.  Hasn't he been hurt enough by Craig?

Glad to see Brian and Fin getting closer.  It's something Brian has always craved, even if he wouldn't admit it even to himself.

And Tony and Justin continue to make me laugh.  They are two of a kind and know exactly how to handle their men.

Getting good.  We even have a mole working for the other side while pretending to be in Fin's corner.  I guess he's never met Brian.  You do NOT want to piss the man off if you value your life.  Somebody needs to tell the mole this! LOL

Another great chapter, and very appropriate for the year we're in.  ;o)

Nita

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita!  So glad to see you catching up on this one.  I think you would agree that the sequel is going to be quite complex, due to all the subplots running through it.  Craig's duplicity may go unnoticed for a while, but you're right - eventually it is going to be discovered and when it is Justin will need all the support from Brian that he can get.  Thanks so much for the comments and for reading, my friend.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: buttercup32409 (Signed) · Date: May 07, 2012 03:37 AM · On: Brian's Decision

Ohhhhhh Love the beginning of the chapter.  I love quality Brian/Justin time, especially when they're being playful like this!  So glad Brian agreed to work with Fin (not that he had much choice once Tony and Justin joined forces).  And I wonder if we can get Fin to agree to run for president once he's finished being governor?  I'd vote for him!

And here we go with the two sneaky devils talking among themselves once again.  Poor Brian and Fin.  I almost feel sorry for them.  Almost! LOL

Craig Taylor is a bastard.  Justin should just say it like it is, but I know first hand how much it hurts to be rejected by the people you love because of who you are.  Not to that extent, but rejection just the same.  At least he has Brian, Gus, Jennifer. and the rest of the family who love him unconditionally. It's Craig's loss and he's missing out on a treasure because of his bigotry and hatred.

Another wonderful chapter.  Trying to get caught up so I can get to the good chapters I keep hearing about.  I've forbidden any of my online buddies to tell me what happened, but they keep telling me I have to hurry up and get to the good stuff! LOL

On to the next chapter!

Nita

BTW: the update I had promised you was sent in an email instead of  PM. Let me know if you want me to send it again.

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita!  So glad to see you reading along on this one!  And I'm glad to hear you're doing better.  I did get a recent email from you, so I think we're caught up.:)  I'm feeling much better today - just anxious to get rid of my IV that is attached to me 24/7.  Hopefully it will be gone on Thursday; I go back to the lung doctor Tuesday for a follow up.  Hope the bloodwork shows no infection left because I'm anxious to get back to work and get my strength back for the trip next month!

So happy you're enjoying this one!  I have a lot to tell yet in this story.:)  In the meantime, I'm working hard on the next update to "Parent Trap."  I think that is just getting warmed up - the girls are about to go into "reunite the fathers" mode - LOL!  Thanks so much for all your support, Nita.  I'll continue to think about you, my friend.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Im worry about fin's campaing but i', happy to see he is sticking with Brian. i can't wait to see what are they going to do to fix things.

GGreat chapter

Author's Response:

Hi, Luisa!  I'm sorry it's taken me a while to post this.  Normally I can at least update them within the 30-day window before they disappear off the "most recent' list, but having 3X more students to teach this year has really bogged me down more than normal.:(  I am hoping to wrap up my Christmas story and the Elvis one fairly soon, though, that should definitely help me update faster.  And I have some time around the holidays, too.:)  I will try hard to post a little quicker if I can - promise!

BTW - don't ever be afraid that I won't finish one - I have NEVER abandoned a story and unless I'm deathly ill I will continue that promise.  I will always update within weeks, not months.  Believe me, that is one of my own pet peeves, so I completely understand your concern.  Thank you so much for the kind comments and letting me know you are reading my stories - that means more than you know to me.:)

As far as this story goes, I definitely have some more excitement coming up for the boys that will ferret out one of the enemy.  I hope you will continue to enjoy their journey - it will certainly be full of twists and turns.  Thanks again for your support!:)~Kimberly

“Where do you think YOU'RE going, Sunshine?”

I loved that bedroom scene, but the rest of the chapter was even better!

I was in the middle of my housework and thought I would just glance at the website when I saw this update... Well a little dirt wouldn't hurt anybody. LOL.

I could not turn away from this. Even though I knew what Kip and Marv were planning, it was still suspenseful and shocking. I thought Brian was going to completely loose it with Justin. This has got to be my FAVORITE chapter. so far.

I can't wait for the update!

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  Thanks so much for the comments!  You're too kind.:)  I'm delighted that you enjoyed this chapter so much.:)  Ha!  Love the pun about housework and 'dirt' - LOL!  I had actually thought about Brian completely throwing Justin out of the RV altogether, but I have some scenes coming up that meant he needed to be there, and I thought Brian would need his continuing support, so I ultimately decided not to do that.  I will try my best to not let so long go between the next update.:)  Thank you again for all the kind words - it makes me very happy.:)

OH MY LOVIN LORD.  HOW DID YOU GET THOSE PICTURES?  I SAW TOMMY.  I NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK AS WE SAT TWO ROWS BACK.  HE WAS SO CLOSE YOU COULD REACH OUT AND TOUCH HIM.  HE REALLY CAN SING.  I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH.  I DIDN'T KNOW HE CAME OUT TO SEE PEOPLE AFTER THE SHOW.  IT'S NICE TO FIND A KINDRED SPIRIT IN YOU.  THANKS FOR YOUR IMPUT IN WHAT TO READ NEXT.  I WILL READ THE WEDDING STORY TO SEE HOW THIS ONE CAME ABOUT.  I WISH I COULD WRITE BUT HISTORY IS MY STRONG SUIT.  YOU WILL HEAR FROM ME AGAIN, AS THIS IS FUN.

Author's Response:

Hi, Penny!  I could have very well been at the same show as you; I actually saw Tommy three times - once on opening night (Saturday) - nosebleed section, believe me!  Then on Monday (1st row seats on the right) and then again on Wednesday up in the balcony. I had heard him sing on the "Joe's Pub" videos but never in person.  I had no idea what a beautiful voice he has!  So clear and powerful - not to mention he's not bad to look at, either - LOL!

I had no idea there was an 'after-party' after opening night, either, until we walked down to the lobby and an employee mentioned it.  We just happened to buy opening night tickets at the last minute, and boy, am I glad we did!  It was out under a huge tent in the parking lot, complete with free food, drinks, and music played by none other than Randy's boyfriend, Brian!  I knew who he was because I had seen his pictures before, but it was so surreal seeing him - and Randy - in person!  I had just purchased a new video camera and believe me, I put it to good use!  I don't know if you ever go onto Live Journal, but I have an account there under the same name and posted some video of him at the after-party.  As far as I know, it's the only live video of him outside of his plays that I have ever seen.

I also managed to get my photo taken with him, both then and in October when I saw him in D.C. for "Habit of Art." ( I know - I'm officially obsessed now!)  You would not believe the hoops I had to go to to get him to come out into the lobby afterward, but it worked and I got my "Tommy" poster finally signed by him - yay!  So I'm two for two, and I'm planning on going to the convention in Cologne next June - can't wait.  I'm kind of petrified to go alone, but I will just to get to see him and Gale at the same time!  That should certainly inspire me to write some more - LOL!  Thanks so much for the reply, Penny, and for reading my stories - that makes me very happy!:)

I AM A HUGH BRIAN & JUSTIN LOVER.  I WAS SO UPSET WHEN QAF ENDED AND THE WAY IT ENDED.  I DIDN'T KNOW THIS SITE EXISTED.  I AM A LITTLE DENSE WHEN IT COMES TO THE INTERNET AND WHAT IS OUT THERE.  I FEEL I HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN READING THIS STORY-HOW DUMB IS THAT.  RANDY HARRISON AND GALE HAROLD ARE MY FAVORITES BAR NONE.  I HAVE SEEN ALL OF GALE'S MOVIES AND MOST OF HIS STAGE PERFORMANCES.  I WAS FORTUNATE TO SEE RANDY IN MASS A FEW TIMES.  I MUST SAY YOU HAVE QUITE A CATALOG OF STORIES HERE.  I AM GOING TO READ MYSELF THROUGH THIS CATALOG.  THIS IS PROBABLY THE WRONG PLACE TO START.  I WILL HAVE TO GO BACKWARD A BIT TO CATCH UP.  I TEACH SCHOOL SO HAVE A FEW DAYS FREE TO READ DURING CHRISTMAS VACATION.

Author's Response:

Hi, Penny!  I was thrilled to read your comments!  Thank you so much for the feedback!  I am so honored.:)  Yes, this one is actually the sequel to "The Wedding Present," which is on this site and is complete.  You may want to start there with that story first.:P)

I have some others that are still works in progress that I update regularly; you can tell if they're complete because it will have "yes" or "no" underneath the banner indicating whether it is a completed story or not.  All of mine with the exception of the five I have going right now are all finished.  May I suggest some?  Readers seemed to particularly enjoy "Stirring Up Trouble," "I Don't!" and "Tender Loving Care."  They are all variations on Brian and Justin's relationship as far as how they met, but they always wind up happy by the time I'm done with them.  I LOVE these boys and wouldn't have them any other way!  There are also a lot of my stories that are 'canon' or could be 'canon,' meaning they could have taken place after the show went off the air.   Also, "Remember Me" seemed to be a real favorite, too, but it's quite angsty - for a long time, Brian thinks Justin has died but he hasn't.

Also, may I suggest "A Kinney Christmas?"  That would be a nice one for this time of year.  Or if you're looking for funny, maybe "Justin Taylor: Man In Tights" where they go to the Renaissance Festival, or "Roughing It," where the boys go camping (I mean, really - can you see Brian camping? LOL!).  Anyway, sorry for the long comment but I get particularly excited when I see a comment from someone new.:)  I LOVE and cherish ALL my readers, though.:)  Thank you again for taking the time to comment - you made my day.:)~Kimberly

BTW - I also saw Randy in "Tommy" and "Habit Of Art."  I have some photos of him on my author's page if you want to take a look.:)

Well here I am reviewing this great story.  My lord, you must have some inside info on political campaigns.  This is quite the story.  I think most people are aware what goes on to some degree in campaigns, but this one is going to be really something.  I really like Fin, but am more anamored with Tony.  He and Justin sound like they are a lot alike and enjoy the same kind of "man".  This will be a lenghty one as I feel it will take time to get this all to come to it's wonderful ending.  Waiting for more .  I have been enjoying your new Christmas story-endearing.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  You are too kind - thank you!  I'm delighted that you feel the story is true to what 'dirty politics' would actually be like.  I must watch too many news shows and read the paper too much, beause I honestly have not had any exposure to the 'wonderful' world of politics personally.  And I think you're right - this one is stacking up to be an extremely lengthy one - I just have too many issues to resolve any time soon.:)  I'm glad you like Tony - you have read him perfectly.  I always meant for him to be a good friend to Justin - sort of a kindred spirit as they work to understand their passionate and headstrong lovers.:)  They will continue to remain close throughout the story as father and son attempt to bond during this up and down journey.

I'm glad, too, that you're enjoying the Christmas story.  Tricky and Gus will figure prominently in that one eventually, once I get the boys back home.  But it's going to be quite chilly at Britin, at least for a while - ha!  The boys will work it all out eventually, though.  Thanks again for all your support, Kym; hope you have a great Christmas!!:)

OMG .. aggrrr .... can't find the words in english to describe Marvin and Kip. I'm glad Brian explains the scene with Marvin ... haha I can't remember the man, only Brian naked in that room.

This chapter is wonderful as always. But now I want an update really quick. Aggrrr I want always quick updates of your stories ... sorry.

* hugs *

Author's Response:

Hi, Dear!  Don't apologize for wanting quick updates - it's when readers don't care that I would be worried!  I had to actually go back and look at the episode to get the guy's full name - I could remember Brian saying, "Why, Marvin, you old dog!" but I couldn't remember his last name.  Thank goodness they had it spelled out in the episode in the boardroom.:)  Thanks as always for reading and commenting, my friend.:)  I will try hard to get this updated soon - I do have a little extra time coming up and I should be wrapping up both the Christmas story and the Elvis story soon, that should help.  *Big Hug* back to you.:)

HEY! IT'S ME JULIAN AGAIN.  KEEPING UP WITH YOUR GREAT STORY HERE.  HAVEN'T BEEN READING  FOR AWHILE AS I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING FOR BUSINESS.  THIS STORY IS TYPICAL I THINK OF MOST POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS.  WHERE EVER YOU CAN FIND DIRT DREDGE IT UP AND THROW IT OUT THERE WHETHER IT'S COMPLETELY TRUE, SOMEWHAT TRUE. OR A BOLD FACED LIE. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE PUBLIC BELIEVE OR DISBELIEVE IT.  IT'S OUT THERE.  THE RETALIATION WILL BE SWIFT AND BRUTAL FOR THE SMEAR MASTERS.  WONDER WHAT THE PAYOFFS WERE FOR THE SMEAR CONSPIRATORS?  IF THIS COMES OUT IN THE RAGS I WONDER WHAT MARVIN'S FAMILY WILL THINK IF HE'S THE CONSUMATE BUSINESS TYCOON HE MAKES HIMSELF OUT TO BE?  MAYBE HE DOESN'T HAVE THIS FAMILY ANYMORE AND MAYBE HE IS OUT OF THE CLOSET NOW AND CAN HAVE SOME MORE SKELETONS IN HIS CLOSET.  INTERESTING THO.

Author's Response:

Hi, Julian!  So great to see you've been catching up with the story - thanks for the thoughtful comments!  In a previous chapter, it was mentioned that good old Marvin and his wife are divorced and she lives out of state.  I don't much think she cares WHAT he does now, as long as her alimony stays intact.  There WILL be some events coming down the pike that will reveal them for the liars that they are, along with Stockwell, too.  Not sure just yet how I will handle Craig, but I really don't see much chance of a reconciliation there between him and Justin - too much has transpired between them now.

I hope you will continue to enjoy the story - thank you for checking in!:)

Reviewer: debv3 (Signed) · Date: December 19, 2011 08:03 PM · On: Revelation and Deceit

I hope Marvin and Kip get their asses kicked very soon. It would be great if Marv's wife came forward and exposed Marv's many indiscretions. And Kip has to have screwed someone else over in the past.  Brian needs to get to work investigating...or having someone investigate.  Hope Andrew gets exposed soon...and that his mother bitches him out big time.

Author's Response:

Hi, Deb!  Thanks for reading and for the feedback!  Yeah, those two (or should I say three) are a real piece of work, aren't they?  Why Brian would have even allowed himself to get into that situation with Marvin especially is beyond me - yuck!  He normally would have been too confident to even consider it - that episode always confused me because of that, but I can still see that long, lean naked body of his draped over the chair sideways (yum).  As far as Adam goes, do not fear - he will not go undetected for too much longer.  Thanks for taking the time to comment, Deb - don't know if it's the holiday or what but I was starting to feel a little lonely over here - ha!~Kimberly

Good one. the three t's need to go.  Typical campaign smears with a gay twist.  Can't play fair.  Now the rebuttal and some kick-ass get even plans. Glad Fin is in Brian's corner and Tony being the lawyer he is is bound to come into play.  Love this story so much and know it's going to be really long like I LIKE.  Thanks for the dedication-very thoughtful and wonderful..  Some people who we know are going to be a tad jealous.  Ha Ha!! They are on their way to do their thing away so they may not read this for a while.  Just kidding they will think I'm lucky and have a great friend in you.  Next few chapters should be quite fun in the way things unfold.  Love your imagination. love 2 u and thanks again.

Author's Response:

Hi, Dear - couldn't resist a dedication to someone who told me this one is his favorite.:)  I think the other readers (and your friends) will understand.  I cherish each and every one of them but you've been through so much these past few months I couldn't take the opportunity not to mention you.:)

(Sigh)...I'm glad you like long ones because this one may go on FOREVER!  Well, close to it, anyway.  There are so many different plot lines woven in here, some of which I've just barely touched upon.  I really wanted to get this chapter posted ASAP, though, because I felt bad about neglecting it.  This Christmas story and my paper grading workload has bogged me down a little more than normal.  But I will keep plugging along until they are all finished, I promise!

BTW - I hadn't even noticed there WERE "three T's!"  Too funny!  You're right - they definitely need to go.  Now that the shock has worn off, you can be assured the four men will come back swinging!  Thanks again for all the support, Lee.  *Big* hug to you and your friends.:)

omg! can't leave us hanging.  update soon.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to leave your thoughts; I'm delighted you're following the story and enjoying it.  This group fighting against Fin and Brian are likely to cause some real headaches for them in the next chapter and just might bring out some revelations that Justin, for example, thought were long buried (I'm sure you can figure out what that is....wink, wink...).

I am updating the Thanksgiving story at the moment as well as Paper Hearts; I should have that updated posted hopefully later tonight.  It will be a little while before I can go back to this story, but rest assured like all the others it will be updated regularly AND completed like I have done with all my other stories.  Thanks again for taking the time to leave me a comment - that is so motivating to me as a writer!:)  I hope you will continue to follow this as well as some of my other stories.  I will also have a 'jealous Brian/Christmas' story coming up soon after Tricky's Thanksgiving tale is over.:)  Thanks again.:)~Kimberly

I love the interaction of of Brian, Justin, and their older counterparts.

It seems thatTurmner is starting to have second thoughts after listening to Thomas and Telson.

I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend!  I also enjoy comparing the two couples to each other; there are a lot of simlarities, aren't there?  Yes, I think Turner's beginning to wonder who he's in bed with and whether he made a big mistake in doing so.  I don't think he realizes just how deep the hatred for Brian, especially, goes for Stockwell, Turner, and maybe Telson to a lesser degree.  No matter what happens, the O'Connor campaign will definitely have to do some damage control, and I can see Stewart trying to sabotague Brian's role as campaign manager.  There is so much I want to tell in this story - it may be a LONG one yet to come!  Hope you will stay turned to see how it all plays out.  Thanks again for taking the time to comment, my dear, I really appreciate that.:)

Reviewer: debv3 (Signed) · Date: November 14, 2011 06:31 PM · On: Old Grudges, New Concerns

I think Brian should just come clean with everyone (the press) about his past and let the chips fall, better that than to have Stockwell stearing the whole thing.  And sooner or later Kip Thomas is going to be found out, Brian can't be the only one he tried to blackmail, and Brian can't be the only one Telson ever propositioned???   Look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Hi, Deb!  Thanks for reading and for your thoughtful comments.:)  Good ideas there.  Yes, I would say neither Telson nor Thomas are stellar examples of moral character.  Still, Brian will have to do some fancy footwork and damage control in the next chapter.  His previous days of freewilling sexual behavior may just come back to haunt him and also his father merely by association.  But chances are that the homophobes will already be against them, so it may be a case of trying to sway the more moderate faction.  In either case, Brian will certainly face a challenge coming up.

Thanks again for taking the time to read and leave me feedback - I really appreciate that.  I will get this updated again very soon.:)~Kimberly

Wow.  now i'm getting more worried.  I know how really hateful and violent hat mongers can be.  Saw them in action in NY not too long ago.  Doesn't matter what they are signing and screaming about they can rev themselves up to  violence.  I just worry about the four of them especially now they are about to run a smear campaign against Brian.  I just hope and pray no one gets hurt.  Hopefully this story won't go that far  Please???  Sorry am late on reviewing.  Was supposed to have the weekend off.  We got called in for two emergencies.  Done now can take a break and catch up here.  I see our boy got to review before me.  He loves this story so much.  I'm sure you made his day as well as ours.  lol

Author's Response:

Thanks, my friend!  I always look forward to hearing from you and your peeps.:)  Brian will have his hands full in the next chapter.  He will have a lot of damage control to do as a result, but he's not the kind to back down from a fight.  And just how much will Kip divulge about Justin's part in it, too?  As far as someone getting hurt (physically, I'm assuming you mean), that is still up for debate to be totally honest.  I haven't exactly crossed it off the realm of possibilities in light of the explosive nature of the campaign.  I DO know that people will get hurt emotionally in this story; I think that's inevitable with all the threads running through the plot. But there's a lot of love in this story, too, and eventually that will triumph over any of the pain.

I will get this one updated as soon as I can.  In the meantime, before I move onto "Paper Heart's Killer," I think a certain dog is calling my name again...LOL!  Darn Tricky!  Thanks as always for the kind words, lindc!  Big *hug* to you, Brian, Lee, and all the other peeps you've sent my way.:)

This chapter with the thoughts of the four men about the hate mongerers and how the two weeks will proceed are exactly what I was thinking reading the last two chapters. Justin had his fill of hatecrime already and Brian was an indirect sufferr to it, too. With this campaign its nearly as if they painted the bull's eye themself on their backs. And now Fin and Tony will be in the direct line, too. They're all very brave in my opinion, but I'm frightened for them. I can't think of a way, how Brian'll go with the lies of Kip and Marvin - he can't ignore them and can't call them on. Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and for your thoughtful comments, my friend.:)  I really appreciate that!  I think it WILL cause some anxiety on Brian's part - he will have to decide how best to respond to what these men's accusations are.  Even if he does tell the truth and calls them out on it, it's still not going to reflect well on Fin's campaign.  And he may find out some things about the situation wtih Kip that he didn't know before, which will cause Justin to have to come clean perhaps, too...Brian may well find himself in the campaign of his life in the next chapter!  Hope you'll stay tuned - it shoul be very interesting to see how it turns out.

Oh, and BTW - in case I never said so before, thank you for the favorite author designation - that means the world to me!:)

Ugh. Stockwell always made my skin crawl! Brian is going to be livid when Kip and Telson tell their stories! This just gets uglier and uglier, but hey, that's politics!! I guess Tony and Justin's fears are founded!

Love it, darling!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Dear!  I would hate to be around Brian when he finds out what's going on.  It will all come out eventually, though, and I think he's going to come out swinging!  On the other hand, I could see where his previous cavalier approach to casual sex could come back to bite him in the ass (and not in a good way - LOL!).  Thanks so much for reading and commenting, my friend,I do appreciate that.:)

Just a p.s. I have been waiting for The Ides of March also.  I haven't seen it listed in my area yet.  I checked on line and it said it was released in Oct.  I don't know when I'll get to see it.  Guess I'll call my theater complex and ask.  I hate the Steelers, sooo  good luck to the Bengals..  In a slump for a while.  Time to win big!!  The peeps probably trying to get zzzz's that's why they haven't reviewed.  I don't usually beat them to the punch.  Hooray for me.  love 2 u.

Author's Response:

That's okay!  I'm just glad you reviewed.:)  Hope you have a good Sunday - the Bengals are playing their biggest rival the Steelers today - go Bengals!  (Sorry, couldn't resist - do you have any idea how nice it is to finally have a winning record here???  LOL!).

Now it's coming--down and dirty.  I knew Thomas and Telson would be in the mix somewhere.  Smear tactics are always in campaigns somewhere.  Watch out boys it's coming fast and furious.  Hopefully, they, somehow, find out about the rat in the wood pile. My guess is not too soon though.  This story is shaping up really well.  As you know it's my favorite.  I'm doing really great now.  Rehab is dwindling.  Back to Doc's Tuesday.  H e will give me an update on work, hopefulky.  I am tired of not working.  They are so busy there.  Winter coming we get busier every day.  I miss my buds. love 2 u.

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend.:)  Thank you for reading and reviewing - I knew I could count on you to do that.:)  I was beginning to wonder if anyone was still following this story.:(  I'm so glad to hear you're doing so well!  That's great news!  Sounds like you'll be back to work in no time, and I'm sure they're all missing you terribly at the hospital.:)

BTW - I've really been wanting to go see "Ides of March" with George Clooney in it.  Most of it was shot in Cincinnati near where I live (he's from here, actually) and his character is playing a candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania - weird coincidence, isn't it?  And I hear there's lots of dirty politics going on in there so maybe I can pick up some tips for my own story - ha!  Can't wait to go see it; perhaps over the Thanksgiving holiday hopefully.

Thanks again, my friend, for reading and taking the time to review - you know what a boost that is to my writer's soul.  Take care - big *hug* to you and the other peeps.:)~Kimberly

Riviting, darling, as always!

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan Rose!  Yes, this story is going to have so many threads woven into it, it promises to be a long one!  Thanks as always for taking the time to leave me your thoughts.  I suppose only someone as open about his sexuality as Brian would be comfortable with his father's 'escapades' as well - LOL!  Thanks again, my friend.:)  *Hugs* to you.:)

Tomorrow my girls are going for the first time on a little vaction with their dad (till sunday night). That feels so strange for me but also for them. I can't just sit here home alone and doing nothing ... * laughs * reading B/J stories ... so I'm going to the try-out of the musical Wicked here in the Netherlands  (ofcourse it's a dutch cast), but I want Randy doing Boq * sigh * . And sunday to the musical Miss Saigon.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER ME, BUT HERE I AM AGAIN.  WHILE WAITING FOR PAPER HEARTS UPDATES I AM READING THIS STORY.  IT'S QUITE GOOD.  I LIKE THE POLITICAL SIDE OF IT.  POLITICS INTRIGUE ME AS I THINK SOME PEOPLE WHO RUN ARE REALLY OUT OF THEIR ELEMENT, FORINSTANCE SOME PRESIDENTAL CANDIDATES.  UGH UGH.  THIS STORY WILL BE QUITE LONG TO GET ALL THE CAMPAIGNING DONE AND THE ELECTION, WHICH OF COURSE FIN WILL BE VICTORIOUS AND BRIAN WILL STRUT LIKE A PROUD PEACOCK.  WILL BE WAITING FOR UPDATES.

Author's Response:

Hi, Julian!  Yes, I remember you!:)  Great to hear from you again.:P  I'm actually working on the next part of "Paper Hearts Killer" right now; my updating, unfortunately, is a little slower in coming at the moment because I have quarterly grades due this week for my 21 adult ed students that I teach - extremely time-consuming.  Hopefully, once I get past that this week, I can pick up my pace a little faster.  I have to agree with you - like they say, politics make strange bedfellows and most of the time it seems like they say what they think we WANT them to say, not what they really believe, and after they're elected they turn into someone completely different!  And I also agree that this story is turning out to be longer than "War and Peace!" LOL!  I have NO idea when this will end, but I don't see an end soon - there's just too much going on in this story between the political side and the more 'human' side of the father/son relationship, Justin's wish for a child, Tony's wish to be married, Justin and his father's relationship, etc., etc....Whew!  I get tired just thinking about it - LOL!

Thanks so much for the feedback, Julian!  I hope you will continue to enjoy this story as well as "Paper Hearts Killer."  I promise to get that one updated very soon.:)  ~Kimberly

I actually have a new story in the works, but I don't dare start it at least until I've got another one done.  The only one NEAR completion, though, is the Elvis story - ack!  The others seem a long way off, especially THIS one.  It may rival "War and Peace" before I get done with it - ha!  Thanks again for all your support, Lee - I'm sending you a *big* hug!  Take care and continue to get stronger.:)

"He and Fin were more cordial toward one another now, and Brian silently hoped that their relationship would continue to evolve, but you didn’t wipe away a lifetime of ignorance about each other in a few short months’ time."

Good point.

"Adam smiled.  The beginning of Fintan O’Connor’s downfall was about to begin."

They seem to have a whole swarm of enemies going after them.

I know I reviewed this chapter before but I'm not sure if it went through. This might be the second. At any rate, I look forward to the next chapter. I have a feeling Brian and his group are a force to be reckoned with.

I do understand that security will probably keep Fin safe – I hope.

I have to wonder that since Craig is involved, is Brian really safe?

I am concerned.

Adam is a real problem.  I don’t at all accept that his Mom

working for Fin was the cause of his parents break up.  Maybe a

catalyst, but the cause?  I doubt it.  However Adam is like an

injured animal – very dangerous.

It will be interesting to see what happens next.  How Fin handles

the crowd and the haters in the crowd.  I will be satisfied if

everyone comes out of this in one piece.

Thanks again,

DavidR

Author's Response:

Thank you, David - I always look forward to your insightful comments.:)  Yes, there will definitely be some tense moments coming up, perhaps in ways some don't realize.  And there are so many ribbons of emotions running through this story.  It is definitely somewhat darker than "Wedding Present" in that respect, but I think the additional drama will also help be the catalyst to bring some of the characters closer together as well as cement some hopes and dreams.  Of course, there will also be some dashed dreams, too, or at least some that are changed in the meantime.  Thank you for reading and especially leaving your thoughts - I'll be looking forward to hearing more of them in the future.:)

i just saw the review of randy's play and the trailer on youtube.  i am so jealous of you girl.  you must let all of us know how it was.  looks like he had a lot of time on stage, and his hair was curly.  soooo cute. looks still about 20.

Author's Response:

I know!  I LOVE the hair!  Makes me want to run my fingers through it and think all sort of naughty thoughts - ha!  As if HE would be interested (sigh..).  I won't object to when he comes out on stage only wearing that pair of black briefs I've heard about, either!  LOL!    I heard he hasn't been real accessible to fans during his run in D.C., though, and it's apparently not easy to sneak out any photos of him at the theater, so I'm not sure how successful I'll be. But my friend and I plan on trying to grab him in between the matinee Saturday and the night show we're going to, so wish us luck!  Oh and BTW, thanks for recommending my stories to Sean - I really appreciate you doing that!:)  You and Brian are awesome!:)  I'll let you know what happens - I'll be leaving early Saturday morning.:)

MY DAY OFF, SO I SPENT A COUPLE HOURS READING TLC.  THAT WAS A REALLY GOOD ONE.  TOLD ME TO READ THAT ONE FIRST AS IT IS ONE OF HER FAVORITES.  NOW I WILL READ THE WEDDING ONE AS I GUESS I'M A ROMANTIC AT HEART.  WE HAVE TO HAVE COMPASSION IN OUR JOBS HERE, SO MOST OF US ARE QUITE MUSHY FOOLS UNNDERNEATH OUR STOLID EXTERIORS. BY 4 NOW

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sean!  Yes, Lindc and Brian really liked "TLC" a lot!  I hope you like "The Wedding Present."  It was a favorite of a lot of readers.  Once you read that one, you'll have a much better understanding of this story,  since it's a sequel to it.:)  If you're into romance and you don't mind it not being Christmas yet, you might also like "A Kinney Christmas Tree."  Of course, ALL my stories eventually have a happy ending for the boys no matter what, though, cause I'm a hopeless romantic, too!  Thanks so much for reading my stories and especially reviewing - I am very honored.:)

I understand the need for tension and bigotry in the story but I hope you will also include wins and intelligent quips to keep the hope alive!

Judi

Author's Response:

Hi, Judi - thanks for reading and commenting!  I definitely won't be dwelling exclusively on the angst in the story all the time, but I feel some of it is necessary due to the subject matter.  And I think despite the seriousness of it, there WERE some moments of more light-heartedness in this chapter (although I admit there was more solemnity than levity in this one...).  I hope despite the heaviness of the chapter you are still enjoying the story and will continue to read along, because I DO see a lot of love and evolving relationships coming out of this saga.  Thanks again for taking the time to read and review.  I hope to hear from you again, and I hope you will let it play out in its entirety.:)  I'm hopeful you will be happy with the results.:)

HI--REMEMBER ME?  I HAVE ONLY REVIEWED ONCE OOPS NOW TWICE.  I HAVE READ 3 OF YOUR STORIES SO FAR.  YOU REALLY HAVE A WAY WITH THE WRITTEN WORD. MY PARTNER JAY AND I ARE READING YOUR STORIES.  THEY ARE REALLY GOOD.  I LIKE STIRRING UP TROUBLE.  IN ALL THESE STORIES I DON'T LIKE MICHAEL SO MUCH BUT WE LOVE EMMETT.  HE IS A TRIP AND MICHAEL IS PATHETIC.  THE WEDDING STORY WAS FANTASTIC PICTURES AWESOME.  LINDC AND I WERE SAYING YOU SHOULD WRITE A NOVEL. SHE SAID SHE TOLD YOU THAT HERSELF. IT'S TRUE, YOU SHOULD.  THIS STORY IS GOING TO GET NASTY BEFORE IT RESOLVES ITSELF.  POLITICS IS A VERY DIRTY BUSINESS.  I LIKE THE INTERPLAY BETWEEN THE FOUR OF THEM.  HOPE THEY STAY POSITIVE AND CAN CONTINUE TO TAKE WHAT THE HATE-MONGERS THROW AT THEM.  BEEN THERE HAD A HARD TIME IN MY TEENS.  BACK TO MY READING.  BY 4 NOW

Author's Response:

Hi, Sean!  Yes, I definitely remember you!  So great to hear from you again!  Wow, if you've read both "Stirring up Trouble" and "The Wedding Present," that's a lot, because I know how long those are!  LOL!  I'm impressed as well as flattered.  Thank you so much for all the kind words - that really lifts me up.  Reviews mean so much to me.:)  I'm delighted you'll be following along on this one - and you're right - I see this one being maybe the longest story I've written, because there's so many sub-threads woven into it.  If you want a funny story,  BTW, you might like "Roughing It," where Justin talks Brian into going camping.  I mean, Brian in a tent?  LOL!  Thanks again for leaving your thoughts, Sean - I really enjoy reading them.:)~Kimberly

Oh dear I am scared for Fin and Brian, history tells us these idiotic fanatics can go to such dangerous levels to achieve their goals.

Loved the gentle teasing between the boys it made such sweet romantic love :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris - Thanks so much for your comments!  Don't want to give too much away, but there WILL be some tense moments coming up.  Hopefully I'll have some twists and turns there that you won't forsee to keep you guessing.:)  I'm planning on having some 'fun' with them, too, though - after all, we have two very 'passionate' couples on that RV together - (wink, wink).  Thanks so much for reading, my friend.:)

Reviewer: lindc &bb (Anonymous) · Date: September 26, 2011 06:17 PM · On: Confrontations and Revelations

wow.  this was an amazing chapter.  having them cooped up together is going to be good and bad i think.  four independent men in a small space for some time is bound to be fun watching them cope plus all the political jazz.  brian is going to lose it at some time.  the watching and reading how this comes together will be priceless.  you are too good, girl--bb's words, but i concur.  we are taking our convalescing boy out to dinner tomorrow.  he has a little cabin fever.  i think he will be back to work in a few months time.  he has progressed so well.  so much for the viking spirit.  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thanks as always for your kindess.:)  Yes, Lee mentioned he was being taken out to dinner - I think he's really looking forward to it.  And BTW - thanks for the 'new recruit!"  I was so pleased to see Sean's review of "Shower Scenes!"  I knew immediately who he was walking about when he mentioned 'someone' had steered him over here - I can't thank you enough for that - you're so awesome!  Hope you all have a great week - I'm going to see Randy in "Habit of Art" this coming Saturday - can't wait!  I'll let you know how it goes.:)

HA HA.  BB AND LINDC COME BY OFTEN TO SEE ME AND CHEER ME UP, I THINK.  THEY ARE TAKING ME OUT TO DINNER, A FIRST.  HOPE I DON'T GET TO TIRED.  MY BODY RUNS DOWN EASILY.  NAP TIME.  THANKS FOR THIS GREAT CHAPTER.  YOU'R THE BEST. Author's Response:

Hi, Lee!  How wonderful that you're finally home and doing so well!  I'm so delighted to hear that and always thrilled to hear from you!  I actually posted this part without waiting for my beta to get back to me, mainly because I knew you were anxious to read it.:)  I hope I continue to do the story justice, since you seem to have experience with this.:)  I'm flattered, then, that you like it so much.  Lindc and Brian must be very good friends for you - I know they think very highly of you, too.:)  I'm sure you're looking forward to going out to dinner!  Take care and I'll get this updated just as soon as I can.  *Hugs* to you.:)

Captivating as always, darling!

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan Rose! Thanks for the review!  I was hoping to actually get to the town meeting in this chapter, but once again, I got carried away  - LOL!  I promise to get this updated just as soon as I can.  In the meantime, I have a couple of twins that need my attention - LOL!  Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me your thoughts.:)

Thanks for the Chapter.  It should be interesting to see

how the press and Turner’s organization treat Fin.

From what I have seen lately in the political arena , it

seems the most effective way to describe your

opponent is to demean him/her.  We now have four

gay men traveling around the state.  They are an easy

mark and it sure seems like Turner and Co. are going to

be as dirty as possible.  Stockwell is looking not so as

such to defeat Fin as he is looking for revenge.  He is a

dangerous man.

The only question I do have is just what the role of

Tony will be.  Why is he going on the trip and/or what is

he going to do all day.  To be Fin’s evening lay?  I sure

hope he is a lot more than that.

Author's Response:

Hi, David - Thank you for your comments - I'm glad you're still following this story.  You have a legitimate question regarding Tony - I suppose I see him as not only a friend to Justin (and, of course, moral support for Fin), but also as an attorney he can certainly continue to work on his legal issues while he's away from his office, so just as Justin can bring his work with him, I foresee him doing the same thing. He could also be there to provide legal advice for Fin's campaign.  I like placing Justin and Tony together as allies to bounce ideas off each other and help to decipher the intricate relationship between father and son.  I hope you will continue to follow the story.  I appreciate your feedback.:)

I could live in that luxury RV!

It's sad that Tony envies Justin and Brian's marriage while Justin envies Brian's new relationship with his father.

Things are starting to look very interesting!

I still don't know how you do it! :)

Please update soon!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Yes, that is an actual RV that according to the web costs $274,000!  I can't imagine a 'home on wheels' costing that much, but considering the interior I suppose I could understand!:)  There is a swirl of emotions going on in this story between the four main characters, the campaign, Stockwell's and Justin's father's involvement, the whole issue of homophobia, and the subterfuge within Fin's camp, not to mention the 'street kid' and Justin's eventual hope for another child with Brian.  Oh, and Tony's hope to eventually marry the man he loves, too.  Whew!  I'm tired just thinking about it - LOL!  I feel like I'm writing a soap opera here.:)  Thanks again for all your support - I am extremely appreciative.

Lindc left me her laptop i wanted to review.  i can use my fingers now as they put a smaller cast on my left arm.  it will take me a while as fingers are going through therapy.  This chapter was the best. Pictures wow!!! $274 thou.  That's a lot of overhead..Who is paying for that?? Fin must have some bucks stashed somewhere.  Campaigns cost mega-bucks.  The campaign slogan is very catchy--go Brian.  He's the best at what he does, in all respects.HA HA!!!.  The dedication was so nice.  I have a lot of family and friends, you included, pulling for me.  It is really appreciated as i get depressed sometimes.  I have a lot of visitors from the hospital that drop in to see me.  My walking is getting somewhat better.  Long winding road ahead.  Trying to be meet the challenge.  A few months more, hopefully.  Thank you again for this chapter, pictures, and dedication.  love 2 u.

Author's Response:

Hi, Lee - It's so great to hear from you and know you're getting better!  Lindc tells me you're a real fighter, and I can tell she's right.  I have no doubt you will be good as new before too long and I know you're working hard to get back to your old self.  I'm sure if anyone can do it, you can!  When you get down, please remember all the people who are pulling for you; you must be very special to have such support from your family, friends, and co-workers, and I know they really miss having you at the hospital.

Glad you liked the latest chapter!  I thought the slogan might be something that Brian would think of.:)  I promise in the next chapter that the boys will become better acquainted with the features of their new 'home away from home.' (wink, wink...).  Thanks again for leaving me your thoughts, my friend.  I"m sending you a big hug!~Kimberly

Wow that's really a giant RV. Thanks for the pics.

Love the simple banner with the slogan.

Wanna hug Justin (his father is such an ass) I'm glad he told Tony.

Sorry for the short or no reviews from me. I'm a bit down. 'Husband' wants a divorce, in three weeks we are going to see a lawyer * sigh *. He wrote the lawyer that he was mentally a bit further than me ... you can say that!! three quarters of a year further or even more. He even was on vacation with his new girlfriend! But time for the children ... no! grrr. Sorry for the rant. The last year the marriage was not really a marriage anymore, but still ... * sigh *.

* hugs *

Author's Response:

Hi, Marny! Thanks as always for reading.:)  I'm glad you like the slogan.  I had a hard time coming up with the right one but this one sort of struck me (ha! - pun intended...!)

I'm so sorry to hear about your marriage.:(  I see it definitely as HIS loss!  It's just a shame about the children, especially, though, because it always seems like they're the ones who suffer the most from these sorts of things.  I'm sending you a BIG HUG from me.  I'll be thinking about you, my friend.  Hang in there.:)

Stockwell's still an ass. Wonder who he's going to talk to around Liberty. Gotta love Deb. And I guess we now know who the mole in Fin's team is. This is going to be some road trip.

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan Rose!  You're so sweet to always read and review - thank you so much!  I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter - you would have thought with 10,000 words I could have at least gotten them out of the parking lot - ha!  But next chapter I promise to have both sets of boys checking out their new digs including the bedrooms and the shower - (wink, wink...).  Those photos ARE actual RV photos, BTW - if I recall, the RV costs $274,000!  Unbelievable but so Brian Kinney....Thanks again for leaving your thoughts, my friend.:)

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend - I'm glad you think Lee will enjoy it; I know this is his favorite story.  And those are real photos from an actual RV that cost $274,000 - I can't imagine a vehicle costing that much - incredible but it suits Brian well and will be so handy for a little 'stress relief' during their trip - (hint, hint).  Thank you for your kind words, my friend.  Your support means a lot to me.:)  Tell Lee I said hello and I hope he gets to go home and back to work soon.:)

this  will take me a long time to write, but i'm gonna try.  i borrowed lindc's laptop while she is working and have been reading as long as i can stay awake.  they have me on meds that are helping me heal but cause sleepiness.  my left side is traumatized so have to type with my right hand-not good as i'm left-handed.  good one huh??  this story is going so well.  i am very impatient for chapters i guess.  don't forget to put all the nastiness, slander and bs into this story, as it is prevelant, even if it is behind the scenes often.  it should be worse because the candidate is gay and not main stream america.  have to sign off sleep overcoming this brain.  take care and thanks for this story and your prayers fo me.  it is very much appreciated.  love u

Author's Response:

My dear Lee - you almost made me cry when I noticed it was you reviewing; I think this review means perhaps more to me than any of the others because of the effort it must have taken you to write it.  I didn't realize you were left-handed and that is where you sustained injury.  But I know you have to be a very strong and determined person to overcome what you have so far, and I'm confident, then, that you will find a way to perservere and triumph over this as well.:)

As far as the story goes, you can be assured that there will be the typical mud-slinging that always rears its ugly head in politics (looks like that's beginning to happen already in the real world ahead of next year's election!).  And you're right - I see it being especially vitrolic in light of not only Fin's sexual orientation but also due to Craig and Stockwell being involved behind the scenes.  I'm so glad you especially like this story, because I definitely see it being a long one - I just don't see any way to end this one too soon because of everything I've dredged up and do it justice; I feel like I'm writing a soap opera, so maybe I'll be able to pull in some fans of "All My Children" and the other soaps once they go off the air - ha!

You really seem to have a wonderful group of friends there at the hospital who care so much about you; you are fortunate that you work with such a dedicated, compassionate group of people.  I will continue to pray that you have a full and speedy recovery from your injuries, and in the meantime whenever I write another chapter of this I will be silently dedicating it to you, my friend.  Take care and a *big hug* to you.:) ~Kimberly

I wonder if the homeless kid will figure into your hints that Justin might find his desire for a child met in a way that he doesn't expect. Perhaps Brian and Justin will take him under their wing and later on end up adopting him. It will be interesting to see if this guess turns out to be correct or not.

Hi, Rixa!  Thanks for the comment.  Don't want to give too much away - I WILL say that there is obviously going to be a LOT occurring in this story, not just Fin's run for Governor; in fact, that's almost the background plot compared to all the shifting emotions that will be involved.  (Why do I see an epic-length novel here? Yay!  This is my favorite series of yours, so I'm happy to see an update!  I cannot wait to see how this all pans out, what with the mole in Fin's campaign, Justin's dad cavorting with the "enemy", and the father/son roadtrip in the RV.  I can actually picture Tony and Justin getting involved in all sorts of shenanigans -- I really like how the two of them interact, so I can't wait to read more!  And I just have to say -- whenever I see your banner for this story I seriously drool.  I know I've said this before, but those pics of both Gale and Randy are my favorites!  Great chapter once again -- keep writing! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you, Kemma!  I'm glad you managed to plod through that huge chapter!  It kind of ran away with me this time - LOL!  I do like this banner a lot better than the old one I had, too.:)  And I agree with you - I like the idea of the two blond bookends conspiring together on the trip.  I can see the two of them, also, as fierce protectors and defenders of their partners when the hecklers emerge, which I imagine they will at some point...  And be assured that the two pairs of partners will be continuing their 'normal routine' (wink, wink) while they're away on the trip.  I see a lot of issues emerging in this story - Brian and Fin's evolving relationship, Justin's turmoil over his father, especially when his connection with Turner is revealed, Justin's wish for a child, Tony's wish to have a more committed relationship with Fin, Fin's campaign...and just what is up with that homeless kid?  Whew!  I'm tired just thinking about it - ha!  Thanks so much for reading so many of my stories and taking the time to leave me your thoughts, Kemma; I appreciate that so much.:) ~Kimberly

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for your comments, my friend.:)  You may be right about Adam....all will definitely not be smooth sailing coming up - and not sure about Justin and Tony in the same RV together - ha!  But it should make for some very interesting times onboard the campaign vehicle as well as some controversy; but the boys aren't known for backing down or hiding their lifestyle so I'm sure they'll be up for the challenge.  I'll get this updated just as soon as I can.  Thanks again for tackling that huge chapter - LOL!:)

Uhh "win with fin" * shudders * . Can't wait to see the new slogan.

I know Brian will be an excellent campaign manager ... he already is. See them standing side by side on the table. That must look really really great.

Por Justin for having such an asshole a father.

Can't wait to see both couples on the road trip with (in !!) a Queensize-bed !!

Love the conversations between Fin and Tony.

Question: Brian and Justin are talking about a RV. Fin and Tony are talking about a luxury RX. Is that the same? if I look on the internet a RX is a car and a RV is a camper, motorhome!? Picture please * giggles *

* hugs *

Author's Response:

Hi, Marny!  AARGH!  No, it should have been an "RV," not an "RX!"  I changed that - sorry about the typo!  (Tears my hair out...!).  Thanks for pointing that out.  Not sure if the little blond co-conspirators working together is a good thing from Fin and Brian's standpoint, but it should make things quite interesting anyway...!  I will dig up a good photo of the RX I have in mind for their road trip coming up - LOL!  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, my friend.  *Hugs* to you.:)

That's what I love about Brian; he doesn't waste any time!! I love your scenes with Fin and Tony, too. Totally what Brian and Justin will be 15 years in the future. I am both looking forward to/dreading this road trip, and I bet the boys are, too!

I have to give you so much credit; you obviously really put a lot of research and thought into your stories and scenarios, and it shows. Keep it up, bb!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Megan!  I'm glad you like Fin and Tony; I know some readers probably prefer that I stick to just the two main 'boys,' but with the story plot I can' t really do that and do it justice; besides, I've actually grown fond of Fin and his partner, and you're right - I like to think of them as an older version of Brian and Justin in the future.  The road trip should be quite interesting, both inside AND outside the RV (wink, wink...).  And I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put the two blond co-conspirators together in the same place - I think they manage to get into a lot of trouble bouncing ideas off each other, but it certainly makes their partners' lives more interesting as a result....

Thanks so much for tackling this humongous chapter, Megan Rose - and thanks for the review; it gets a little discouraging at times not to see a lot of feedback.  I treasure every reader I have but especially those that take the time to leave me their thoughts and let me know they enjoyed what I wrote.  For that and especially to the others who so faithfully read and review, I thank you.:) ~Kimberly

Hi, dear friend!  So glad to hear that Lee's doing much better - tell him I'm thrilled to hear it!  I'm sorry to hear, though, that they've split your team up - how sad.:(  I hope it will just be temporary.  I would miss you guys if I didn't hear how you all are doing, and I've gotten a little spoiled getting reviews from both Brian and Lee from time to time in addition to yours...:)  Take care and keep in touch - tell Lee I hope he has a quick recovery and I'm very thankful he's going to be okay.:)

:) Very nice. I do wonder what's the rate on that suite however. Ireland is Euros I think too.

Author's Response:

I always wanted to go to Ireland - and of course, Brian would spare no expense for his husband....!

Love how you're developing the story here with dual plots happening at once.

Author's Response:

Trust me - It's going to get even more entangled shortly - my head is beginning to spin, in fact - LOL!

Having traveled much I guessed Ireland from the first clues and the booze nailed it down.

I haven't read a story for months due to RL issues in my way and guess whose story I chose to read first?

Well, I am both speechless and honored that you chose mine, Bob!  I'm delighted!  And I missed you like mad while you were gone!

have been waiting for your muse to move you. soooooooooo while we are waiting i have been reading your earlier stories the peeps haven't heard yet.  started at the beginning and have read three so far.  am i good or what? ha! ha! i told them to be patient as you are still coming down from your randy high.  i went to your lj and saw the pictures and your videos.   soooo good.  they are also on a site for randy.  you sure do get around girl.  i really want to go to d.c. and see him play a rent boy!!!.  sould be good.  lol

Author's Response:

LOL!  Yeah, I'm intrigued by the idea of Randy being the rent boy, too!  Ha!  Hopefully the site where you saw my photos and videos is one of the ones I gave permission to - there were a couple of LJ users who had asked.  It's fine with me as long as they keep proper credit on them.  That's very flattering that you're re-reading my stories.  You probably noticed just now that I finally posted the next chapter of "Parent Trap."  Tell BB that "Paper Hearts" is up next.  I hope this last chapter of "Parent Trap" makes sense - it's well past midnight here and I am only half awake - but at least it's a fairly long one.  Tell Lee thanks for taking the time for his separate review - I appreciate that very much.  You're taught him well!  In case you've never read it, I suggest "Roughing It."  That's one of my favorites and is quite light-hearted compared to what I'm writing right now!  And now I am off to bed!!  Take care - always a delight to hear from you.  Let me know if you go to DC - looks like a bunch of LJ users will be there the weekend of 9/24 to 9/25...would love to meet you eventually!:)

I almost sighed when I started reading this. I know I have said it before but I can’t help saying it again. Your stories are like a favorite, comfortable chair. I read a lot of B/J, plenty of angst and intrigue, but nobody writes my boys like you. Your stories are so good to come home to.

As Brian would probably say – that’s enough lesbian sentiment. J

Here’s my review:

I see things are turning dark in this chapter. Craig Taylor and Stockwell together sound pretty frightening. This is what Brian feared all along.  It gives am ominous foreboding to the happiness of the newlyweds.

“Internally, however, he couldn’t help the pang of loss that shot through him, despite his vocal declaration; once, not so long ago, he and Justin had had a good father-son relationship – for several years…”

It was often difficult for me to fathom how Craig could dislike his son so much if they were so close before. He had have cared for him deeply to attack Brian outside of his Jeep. I could not believe his feelings could turn off that quickly. I have a feeling this will come into play again.

Author's Response:

Hello, my dear - what a wonderful thing to say about my stories - that means so much to me!:)  I was so glad to get the chance to see Randy perform last week, but I'm kind of also relieved to get back home and more on track with my updating schedule.:)  As far as the plot goes, I agree with you.  There are going to be a lot of emotions at play in this story with all the main characters; B and J, of course, but also Fin and Tony and Justin's dad, to name a few.  And yes, I think his father has a lot of mixed emotions still as he wars over his repulsion toward Justin's lifestyle versus his love for him.  I don't think he could just turn it off the way he did, and there's always a special bond between father and son just like mother and daughter.  I think there will be some revealing moments between not only Craig and Justin but also Fin and Brian as well.  And what's with the homeless kid?  Hmm...We'll have to see on that one.:)  Again, thanks so much for the compliment - I can't think of a nicer thing for anyone to say about my stories.:)

Hey, hon, welcome back!! Another great chapter. Can't wait until Brian and/or Justin find out about Craig backing Turner. And Stockwell!!! Oh, how the plot thickens!!

I'm glad you had a good time at Tommy! I'm so jealous! I was reading your LJ and some reviews and lots of people seemed to like it. And Randy's boyfriend's name is Brian?! That's just freaky. I heard he's doing another play in DC in August. If only I didn't live on the other side of the continent (and in a different country!) Are you going to go?

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  Thanks for the welcome back!  I would love to see him perform again, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make his play in DC or not - maybe at some point I can because he's going to be there a lot longer than he was at Tommy.  I was reading part of the description for the Beckett play in DC and they talk about a "rent boy."  Is that what I think it is?  And more importantly, is that Randy's role?  Hmmm..should be interesting in either case!  Obviously I don't think this will be a singing role, although they did have that Broadway play called "Rent," didn't they? LOL!  If you go over to my LJ, speaking of which, I just posted some more after-party video of him you might find interesting.  Be warned, though - he was moving around like crazy and I had a hard time keeping up with him!  But he is so gorgeous and I'm very glad I had the chance to see him sing - what a beautiful voice!  BTW - If you PM me I can steer you toward a link where someone taped him singing if you've never heard him and don't know about it...:)

That IS weird about his boyfriend's name.  But I've seen several photos of them together and I think they've been together for a few years now.  They seem happy, so that's what most important.  But it IS quite a coincidence.:)  Thanks for the feedback on the story - I think this may hurt Justin all over again with his father's involvement, despite his protestations that he has moved on from his separation from him.  Hmm...we'll see.  And how does the homeless kid tie into all this?  Hope you'll read on to find out!  And now I'm onto "Parent Trap" - should have the next chapter of that posted soon.  Thanks again, my friend.:)

Author's Response:

So great to hear from you, my dear.  I'm afraid I'm technically illiterate apparently, because I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the video of Randy on my MW author's page.  If you want to see it you can go to LJ and search under my same user name - it should be pretty easy to find.  I'll try to post some of the photos over here as soon as I can on my bio page, though.  Two of them are really good (I humbly offer...).  I'm working on "Parent Trap" right now with the girls' meeting and then it's onto Paper Hearts next.  Thanks so much for checking in - sorry we didn't get to meet.:(  Now go get some much-needed rest and tell BB I said hello!:)

Author's Response:

Hi, Lee!  Yes, I recognize you!  So nice of you to leave me a review!:)  I think lindc said you had some exposure to the 'interesting' world of politics.  Thank you for the kind words.  Yes, what a trio - Turner, Stockwell, and Taylor!  What a bunch of connivers....You can count on a lot of twists and turns coming up shortly on this one.  I am hopefully now back on track with my updating schedule.  I think TLC is a ways off, though, unfortunately, after Paper Hearts and Parent Trap.  I promise to get busy getting them all updated now that I'm back from seeing Randy.  What a wonderful, powerful voice he has!  Tell lindc I will post some of the after-party video I took of him on my author's page here if I'm able to - right now it's just 24 seconds worth until I can update with some more of it.  If I'm not able to do it over here I have it on my LJ account already.  Thanks again for taking the time to review!:)

I have been so busy that I have gotten behind in reviewing. I listen to my favorite stories and then go back to review later when I get the time. I read a lot of fan fiction but when it comes to my guys, it rare to find anyone who does them better. It is like a comfortable chair. You can just sit back and relax. On that note:

The campaign sounds like it's going to be interesting.

I see that Justin is still thinking about having a child. It can't be a good time.

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  I know - sorry about the gap in posting; I was supposed to have MORE time to post, not less!  I was dogsitting over the weekend and wound up having to devote more time to that than I thought I would.  I've started on "Parent Trap" - that one is next.  Yes, they passed the bill just before the Gay Pride Parade on Sunday - I'm sure that took on even added significance in light of that fact!  It's a shame you aren't seeing "Tommy" the same day that I am or I would have made  a point of meeting you!  My friend and I will be staying in Lee at a B and B from the 7th until the 14th.  I actually wouldn't mind going again but not sure I can talk my friend into doing that (probably not....).  But I'm getting quite excited nonetheless!  I just hope he comes out to greet fans afterward....will have to see, though.  I've noticed a lot of new readers/writers over here lately on the site, so maybe that explains the lack of reviews this time.:(  That's why I treasure yours even more, though - thank you!  And now it's onto the twins....thanks again to you and the peeps for all your support - I really appreciate that so much.:)

Hi,

Another wonderful chapter.  So much information.

A few chapters back, I voted (not that I have a vote)

for Brian not to be Finn’s Campaign Manager.  Well –

Brian didn’t listen to me.  Oh well!  All the reasons

against the decision was nicely laid out in this chapter.

That is except one.

I never felt that bringing Brian and his father together

into a better and closer relationship was a good reason

for Brian to accept the proposal.    What if, Finn wanted

to do something one way and Brian disagreed. Now what?

it is quite obvious that neither can be told NO, and the person

live to say no again.  You know what I mean.

         Finn to Brian, “no!”

or how about ---

         Brian to Finn, “no!”

Anyway, let’s see just how well the two of them will get along.

Tony and Justin just may have to play referee.

Thanks again for the story; it is really good and getting better.

Author's Response:

Hi, David!  Always look forward to your thought-provoking comments.:)  Yes, I can see your point about the two working together - this could almost be like two trains on a collision course and no way to stop them - ha!  Two alpha males could be a bad thing.....but maybe a GOOD thing for dramatic plot purposes.:)  Thanks for checking in and leaving me feedback - I greatly appreciate that.:)

I bet Taylor Electronics is one of the 500 companies bankrolling the opposition and become actively involved once Craig realises that ajustin and brian are involved. Bring it on lol cheers Chris

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Yeah, I figure it never hurts to just throw in some good, old-fashioned PWP in the middle of my chapter - ha!  Glad you liked this one.  And never fear, me thinks Mr. Taylor is going to be featured somewhere in this story and will no doubt dredge up some pain and sorrowful memories for Justin, along with several other plot developments.  So glad you'll be following the story, my friend.  Thanks as always for the feedback and for reading!:)

You know, given the fact that this is a sequel. and to a rather lengthy original story, it is amazing to me that there is still so much story to be told here. In addition to the known plot, we also have the promise of these little hints we have been getting - surely a baby is on the way (hmmmm - another sequel?). The characters as written here have become new 'old friends' - so familiar from all this time spent with them, and yet enveloped within a storyline so different from Canon that we are getting to know them anew with each chapter, so different are they from the couple we last saw in 513.

still anxiously awaiting each new chapter - thanks for that

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle!  Thanks for the very insightful comments.:)  Yes, as I just mentioned in another review, I also see a lot to be written here (hope everyone doesn't get bored to death before I get done - LOL!)  There's a lot of hopes and dreams being bandied about in this story (hence the title) - Fin's campaign, Tony's wish to one day be married to him, Brian's business and his new position as campaign manager, his relationship with his father (will this draw them closer or push them farther apart?), Justin's wish to have another child with his husband, Stockwell, and Justin's father's possible involvement....whew!  I think that might be enough for a while.:)  Everything may not turn out the way everyone hopes, though...if it did, what good would THAT do? LOL! Thanks, my friend, for the comments and for reading!:)

wow what a chapter. we loved it. we knew he would do it or where would the story go.  lots to look forward to all the ins and outs and attempted smear tactics.  oh yes we can see it all coming down the road.  lee is very interested in this story as one of his family members is in politics and has told us about some comings and goings within his family.   we still are very interested in the (room).  need more about that!!!  it was just sort of touched on.  sneaky of you.  really pooped all of us just got off 36 hours straight--so home to bed.  bb hopes paper hearts is next.  he asks PLEEEEASE. ha ha!  lol

Author's Response:

Hello, my tired friends!  I'm surprised you even had the strength to write a review!:)  But I do appreciate it.:)  I know - everyone's itching for the 'drama' to begin.  I see that happening more in the coming chapters now that Brian has decided to take on the challenge of being his father's campaign manager.  Everyone will learn more about Justin's thoughts and dreams a little later, but it may not come out the way he thinks (hmm....).  That might not necessarily be a bad thing, though.  I CAN see this story being a pretty lengthy one, however, because my mind can see a lot of issues coming to a head here - the issue of the child, the campaign, Tony's dreams to be closer to his partner, Stockwell, and Justin's father just to name a few (is that enough? ha!). Tell BB I'm working as fast as I can - I know he's anxious as is everyone else for the next installment.  I may go against my normal rotation schedule and hold off on the next chapter of "Parent Trap" to accomodate him.:)  Tell him to hang in there - I think I may see my arm being twisted just a bit.:)  And tell Lee I may need him as a ghostwriter down the road - LOL!

i just need to vent to someone who understands.  i hope you will let me.  guess when our commendation ceremony is????  the night i was supposed to go to tommy.  i am so upset and nobody understands here.  everyone is trying to console me but it's not working.  bb and the peeps somewhat understand.  they say it's because of our work we are getting commended and i should be proud.  don't get me wrong i am proud(hate that word) when it affects the health of another human being.  i didn't sign on to do this job to get commended for it--i thought it was to help people through dedication to my job in society.  i called dave when i found out.  he will see what he can do and told me to calm down-like that's going to happen soon.  it means you will probably see him before i do.  that's ok you can fill me in.  sorry for the tirade, but you are my friend(hopefully)   lol

Author's Response:

Oh, no, lindc!  I can't believe that!!  Do you really have to attend?  Surely they would understand that you already had a commitment, wouldn't they? Isn't there any way at all you can just have someone accept it in absentia?  Surely someone else could accept it on your behalf; heck, even actors do that at the Academy Awards!  Surely they could do something...I am SO sorry to hear that - I can't believe it's the exact same day!!  That is terrible! Hopefully, if they can't and worse comes to worse, your friend can get you a ticket for another day.  I wish I could something to help you.  The only good thing that might come out of it is if you happen to trade in your ticket for the 11th; then we could actually meet!  That would be great......let me know, okay?  Again, I am so sorry - I know exactly how I would feel in your shoes.:)  I'll be waiting to hear what happens.  I'm sure it will work out somehow.:)  Hang in there, my friend!

Well.... Vanna.... I may need to buy a vowel.... lol.... because I can't think of anything Justin would want that Brian wouldn't ...... as for Parent Trap maybe i'll read it when it's complete..... or maybe not ... I haven't decided... Thanks...

Author's Response:

Fair enough, my friend.:)  At least if you wait until it's done, maybe you can peek at the chapters (or the reviews) and see where the plot line's going....As I said, I respect your decision either way and am grateful for the stories that you DO choose to read.  Thanks again!:)

Sorry... I haven't reviewed for a while. Life's a bitch right now and I'm just happy if I can get away with reading your updates.  I'm still addicted to the story and I'm looking forward to more ... keep up your good work! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you for letting me know you're reading this, J!  I love reviews, but I'm just grateful that you think enough of my stories to read each update - thank you.:)   I'm glad you like this one - there's going to be a lot of twists and turns to come yet; hope you'll stick around for them and I hope RL gets a little smoother for you soon.  Thanks again, my friend.:)

It seem as if Brian will be Fin's new campaign manager... lol... why is Justin hiding his new "project" from Brian.... I don't think he would mind if Justin redecorated the room on his own.....

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  Thanks for reading and for the review.  I think Justin's a little afraid that his 'project' might not be what Brian wants (don't want to give too much away yet, but you can probably figure it out...hint, hint...).  That being said, Justin may find out that life may throw a few curves along the way and he may not wind up fulfilling his dream quite the way he thought.  Glad you're still reading along on this one - I'm about to update "Parent Trap" next and I'm still hoping to talk you into continuing to read that one as well (big puppy dog eyes here....).:)  Thanks for all the feedback!

I LOVE THIS BANNER!!!   nice chapter with a twist at the end that's my girl.  brian will accept the challenge no doubt, but what's with the room?  a nursery-don't think so yet, another office for the campaign manager, or a nicely redone bedroom for fin and tony when they visit.  what's our boy up to.  we will have wait and see where your little devious mind takes us.  sorry i'm waxing poetic not working it's hard to wind down!  ha ha!  lol

Author's Response:

Thanks, my friend! Glad you like the banner - I definitely prefer this one, too; the other one was too 'busy' or something - I think it was the streak effect from the stars:)  Mmm..what is Justin up to?  Uh, uh, uh......you'll have to wait and see what I have in store for our little blond and his husband.:)  I WILL say that it might not turn out quite the way Justin thinks it will, though - got your curiosity piqued yet?  Hope so - LOL!  Thanks as always for readng - it makes me so happy to know others are enjoying what I am writing.  I have less than one week now before I am out of school for a couple of months - yee haw!  (Sorry, I was born in Kentucky - ha!).  That means faster writing - yay!  But I've learned my lesson - no new stories until I get at least one of these finished - I see "TLC" ending fairly soon, but you know me - I say that and then five chapters later it's still going - ha!  Thanks again, lindc - go get some much-needed rest now!:)

Well, I like a little angst as much as you do, but Brian and Justin so in love, committed to each other, leaning on each other and trusting each other - well - there's just nothing better! Although, who knows what that little sketchbook of Justin's might bring to the picture. I have a guess as to what he might have up his sleeve. Can't wait to see what that little secret, as well as the continuing saga between Fin and Brian will unfold. This story has so much yet in the telling, and I for one could not be more thrilled.

Now, I notice that you have yet another new story started, so...I am on my way.

living life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle - I always look forward to your thoughtful reviews - thanks for taking the time to do that!  The other story is just a brief one-shot that was previously posted on fanfic.net - I know the readers would probably shoot me if I started yet another WIP - LOL!  I promise to go right to the next one in order now, which is Parent Trap.  Of course, that one is just beginning - I will be moving them forward eight years, though, while filling in some of the gaps in the past.  Thanks as always, my friend, for all the reviews and your insightful feedback!:)

I can understand Brian being irritated and intrigued by being blindsided like that. But they're right: he would be perfect for Fin's campaign. And the sketchbook made me laugh out loud. That is soooo Justin! And I think I know what Justin was drawing...

Love it, darling!

Author's Response:

Aw....thanks, Megan Rose!  Glad you liked the chapter.  I changed the banner around a little - didn't really like the first one! Sometimes I think I enjoy making up the banners almost as much as the stories - LOL!  I'm probably going to post a one-shot soon that is new to this site that I previously posted to fanfic.  Hope you'll enjoy it if you haven't already seen it.  Thanks for all the reviews - I am very appreciative!:)

Still haven't read "shower scenes" , I think they are too ... hmm much for me at the moment.

But I love THIS story so much.

As he felt the pangs of pain and regret bubble to the surface, though, he realized he wasn't mourning what had been – he was mourning what might have been…..

It was so sad that his adoptive family would try to make him miserable even as an adult, but I loved that Justin came at Claire like a pitbull.

It is interesting to see Brian and Justin  interacting with their older counterparts. They are similar but yet you have written them with subtle differences.

I am in nervous anticipation with  Jim Stockwell coming into the picture.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the feedback, my friend - very astute observation there and you are correct; I purposely made Fin and Tony similar to our boys but there ARE some slight differences between them.  I DID want them to be somewhat similiar, though, as I would have expected father and son to be alike in some ways.  And we should all be concerned with Stockwell involved; he is a very evil and vindictive man and I think he's going to create a lot of problems down the road, both on purpose and unintentionally - hope you'll continue to stay tuned as it plays out.  Thanks again for all the comments!:)

Reviewer: no sleep (Signed) · Date: May 30, 2011 01:53 AM · On: New and Old Family Entanglements

He had Brian and Gus for his family, in addition to his mom and Molly, and Brian now had the real family he had always deserved; for him that was enough at the moment.

Looks like you have some plans for later.  It would be nice. LOL

Justin emitted the cute little squeak he always made when he was surprised as Brian reached down and flung him over his shoulders, fireman style.

That was so cute!

......There, standing in front of him with a newspaper folded in her hand, was his ‘former’ sister, Claire.

I did not expect this. Nice cliffhanger, even though I went  right on to the next chapter. LOL

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and all the comments!  Yeah, what a way to start your new life together, with Claire the tormenter - ha!  But I think both Justin and Brian are more than capable of standing up to her.:)

This would never be experienced with them and any other man for the rest of their lives and it made their lovemaking that much sweeter, that much intense.

That was beautiful!

Ya killing me with the pictures!

Hello, Sandra!  So delighted to see you reading this story - it's been kind of quiet over here lately, hasn't it?  And I know what you mean about the honeymoon (sigh...) if only WE could experience that!  I'm glad you like the photos - I really enjoy searching for just the right ones, and being able to post them is a big plus with this site.  Thanks again for the comments!:)

Hi,

Good bye Claire and don’t come back.

Nice chapter.  The line I especially liked in this chapter is:

“As he felt the pangs of pain and regret bubble to the

surface, though, he realized he wasn't mourning what had

been he was mourning what might have been…..”

Great line, I would like to add to “might have been”, could have been, and

should have been.  However as we say, “it is what it is.”  We can’t

change history. Since he has gotten out of the Kinney household, his life

as been on the upswing.  Now with Gus and Justin and a brand new

family, everything is looking good.

However – this election is going to be very difficult.  I can see troubles a

head. Finn and Brian (I hope) have each other and a good support

system.  Although some of Finn’s political positions (in my opinion) need

rethinking – good luck Finn.  You and Brian and the family are going to

need it.  I got the feeling that the gay issue is going to be a huge

stumbling block.

Stockwell is back!  Shit!  Double Shit!

Author's Response:

Hi, David!  As always I look forward to your insightful comments.:)  Thank you for taking the time to read and do that.  Yes, I couldn't resist throwing Stockwell into the fray; although I think he's a homophobic idiot (maybe he and Claire can get together - LOL!), I think he's smart enough to know he needs to stay deep out of sight to do any good.  Otherwise, he's going to wind up doing damage to Turner's campaign.  As you can imagine, there's going to be a lot of twists and turns, both professional and personal, going on in the story.  I hope you'll continue to read and let me know your thoughts.  Thanks again!:)

OK..... this chapter confused me a little...lol........ I understand  from what Claire said...the reason... Jack and Joanie adopted Brian in the first place...but... why was he abused at such a young age??? how on earth could Brian have been such an embarrasment and dissapointment to them as a little boy???  what could Brian have done to make them hate him practically from the day he was born??? Thanks...

Author's Response:

Good questions!  We really didn't get a lot of information about just why Brian was so mistreated, especially by his father; could it be that he displayed some gay tendencies, for example with Michael, and Jack was afraid he would become too 'sissy?'  Of course, Brian wasn't like that as an adult - he actually for the most part hid his feelings - but perhaps that was why he did what he did.  Maybe Brian was just a mischevious, free-spirit growing up and his parents, being older, couldn't handle such a rambunctious child.  I think we'll never really know.  Thanks for the thought-provoking comments!:)

Author's Response:

Is someone getting antsy here? Ha!  Tell BB I'm working on it - just started the chapter, though, so might not be up until tomorrow - depends upon how fast my thought wheels turn and how fast my fingers type!  There's going to be a lot going on in this chapter as you can imagine, a lot of emotions swirling around.  Tell Brian I'm glad he's looking forward to it.:)  I'll get it posted just as soon as I can, promise!:)

Something tells me it's going to take a lot of fast talking to get Brian to agree to this.  However, after that horrible run-in with Claire (the bitch!), he may just agree to do it out of spite. We all know Brian would be a perfect campaign manager for Fin.

Can't wait to see what he says!

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and for the comments, Megan Rose!  (Love that name, BTW - very lyrical.:))  I think you're correct - Brian's not just going to jump up and down in excitement over taking on Fin's campaign, but I think his interest will certainly be piqued.  Stay tuned for how to see how it turns out....I think in the long run he's going to have a hard time turning both his father (and Justin) down.  Thanks again for the feedback - it is greatly appreciated.:)

Hhmm not sure that Brian is going to be thrilled with all this behind the scenes discussion on him being a campaign manager. Brian always makes his own dicisions as Justin said and the more you push the harder he will dig his  heels in. Jim Stockwell that just might be the catalyst to Brian and Fin joining forces. I hope that was not a forwarning of danger with brian wanting the house security upgraded.

Ooooooooooooohhhhhh deliscious chapter cannot wait for more :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Thanks so much for your comments!  I'm thrilled you enjoyed the chapter.:)  Very insightful comment about Brian.  I agree - I don't think he's going to rush into this decision, especially after the sour taste he was left with after his first (and only) attempt to help with a political campaign.  I don't think he (or Fin) is going to be aware of Stockwell's involvement for a while - I see Stockwell as working more behind the scenes.  If it were to get out that a corrupt cop was helping I think that would hurt Turner more than help....:)  I'm actually excited to get more into the meat of the story finally - stay tuned; there's going to be all SORTS of things going on in this one!:)  Thanks again for reading and reviewing, my friend.:)

Reviewer: lindc & the peeps (Anonymous) · Date: May 21, 2011 09:24 AM · On: New Allies, Old Enemies

thought it was time to see who was running against fin--and lo and behold who turner's campaign manager is going to be.  this makes the cheese more binding.  what a ride we are in for--you sneaky girl.  you go justin!!  nice to see him get his dander up.  this was a wonderful chapter.  i guess dean will be interested in our little group as he has two gay friends-so he's not homophobic.  thank god i can still read.  i guess, by my calculations paper hearts is next. n'est pas?  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc! Hi, Peeps!:)  You are correct - time to get back to "Paper Hearts."  Obviously the next chapter is going to be a very pivotal one in a lot of ways.....As for this story, Stockwell will have his nasty touch in the campaign for sure, but I don't think he'll actually become his campaign manager  I see him doing a lot behind the scenes but I think his notoriety would be a major blow to Turner's run for Governor.  He will be more of a silent instigator.  Whether that will backfire or not remains to be seen....Tell Dean welcome!  Hope you can 'recruit' him to read along - ha!  Something tells me if anyone can do it, you can.:)  Thanks as always for the comments - and now back to that creepy child killer.....

Reviewer: DavidR (Signed) · Date: May 17, 2011 04:20 AM · On: New and Old Family Entanglements

Nice chapter.  I particularly liked the thought:  “He was more

amazed that he actually had family that cared enough to want to do all

that; it was certainly a major departure from what he was normally

used to.”  Wow, ain’t that the truth.  Excellent writing.

However, if Justin expects Brian to have a Daddy/Finn

relationship, well I just don’t see it.  The title of Daddy is often

earned when the child is 4 or 6, or  something like that.  He is

the guy who checks under the bed for monsters, and provides

other childhood needs.  At Brian’s age, current personality, and I

should add background,  a good warm and caring relationship

may develop --  But Daddy?  Justin should lower his expectations

if  that is what he is hoping for.  (I think?)   If will be interesting

to see how you handle that relationship and how far (or really

how close) they get.

Terrific story.   There are  lots and lots of interesting things going

on: Brian and Finn, the election, maybe a baby, and who knows

what else!

 DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David!  I always look forward to your thought-provoking and well-constructed comments - thank you!:)  I tend to agree with you about Fin and Brian - I think eventually in this story they WILL grow closer together, but I could never see Brian calling him "Dad."  I just don't think that fits his character.  BUT - I think they CAN come to a closer relationship through mutual respect and concern.  There will be some issues and events come up through Fin's campaign that will draw them closer together in that regard.  And there will also be plenty of other emotional issues that will have to be addressed as well, for example, Justin's wish for an expansion to their family, and Tony's wish to have a more permanent, 'official' relationship with his partner.  Hope you will stay on to see how it all progresses and will keep writing your very insightful comments - thanks again.:)

I haven't commented before on your stories so I thought I'd take the opportunity to say how much I've been enjoying them (this one, TLC, Paper Hearts Killer, etc). Personally I can't image Brian (the one I know from the show) wanting to be a 24/7 father. But then in this story he's a little different. I noticed you removed your author's note about mpreg. Does that mean you aren't considering it for this story anymore? I enjoy mpreg stories (something I hadn't ever read about before I started reading QAF fan fiction) so if you do decide to go that route I for one will be very happy (especially if it's Justin who gets knocked up! lol)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for leaving your very thoughtful comments, Rixa!  I'm always so delighted to hear from readers, especially ones I haven't heard from before.:)  I'm so glad you've been enjoying my stories.  You are very observant.:)  Yes, I did remove the request at the end of the chapter shortly after I posted it, because after some thought, I didn't think it would be fair to spring an mpreg angle to this story without giving fair warning at the beginning that I was going to do that.  There seems to be two fairly distinct camps about that subject, and since I was already eight chapters into the story, I didn't want to turn off readers who were enjoying it so far by throwing something that unexpected into it that maybe they wouldn't like.  That being said, though, I am still very fascinated with the idea, however implausible it may be, and will definitely think of doing that in the near future with another story (it's a pretty definite possibility, I would say).  That also doesn't mean I won't introduce another child into Brian's and Justin's lives in this story, either - in fact, in light of Brian's unpleasant experience as an adopted child, I think that would be quite appropriate in this story to prove that Brian could provide an adopted child with the loving home they deserve.  Thanks again for leaving me your feedback; hope to hear from you again in the future.  BTW - I'm about to post the next chapter of Paper Hearts Killer - if not tonight it will definitely be by tomorrow.  Thanks again!:)

LOL!  I know the feeling - I never liked him either!  I keep thinking of that one scene where he's standing up serenading Justin that morning after; he looked so darn pudgy - of course, after looking at Gale, who WOULDN'T look that way!  The only advantage he ever had over Brian was Justin's need to know he was cherished and loved, something that our emotionally-stunted Mr. Kinney was not very good at expressing  - at least initially anyway.  (Hard to top buying a house 'for his prince,' however!).  Don't worry, though, I'm writing the third installment and it starts out with Ep 308, so he's very fleeting!:)  Thanks for going over there and reading - I may post this one later today.:)

oh dear Brian got a lot of family interaction in this chapter. Claire is obviously wondering about the Fin connection lol and I cannot see Brian being very communicative with Claire as his morning ritual was interupted lol.

Justin wanting a baby will be a interesting development for Brian to mull over and maybe his family to grow bigger.
