Another great chapter.  I am happy that Brian is taying with Kinnetik but I bet his father continues to look to him for advice.  Tanks for the update.  Bill

Author's Response:

Hi, Bill, my friend - thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for your comments; I greatly appreciate that.  I am trying to slowly develop Brian's relationship with his father; after all this time I think to push them together like nothing had happened before wouldn't be very realistic.  I will get this updated just as soon as I can.
Thanks again for the support. *Hugs*  ~Kim

It's funny what you said about Brian not wearing hats.  I think that the only time I remember him wearing a hat was during the candleight vigil, when Ben got into a fight.  By the time Brian was in the car the hat was off.  Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.  Anyway, VERY little hat wearing, for sure.

Lovely story.  Maybe Fin will realize what that flash was on Tony's face.  (?)

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Well, I can remember a few times when Brian wore some questionable shirts (I still remember that ghastly plaid one! Who was dressing his character that day? LOL!), but yes, he normally didn't wear a hat, did he?  I am trying to find some more similarities between father and son in the story, and thought this one would fit.;  I'm glad you're still enjoying it; and yes, the question about Fin and Tony will be resolved one way or the other.;)

Thanks so much for reading, and especially commenting!  I will have this updated again soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

     Thanks for the chapter.

“We did it”, said by Fin, meant so much.  A wonderful emotional

comment, for us readers too.  Then just a little later Brian said, “it's

been a hell of a ride.”  It sure has, and again for us readers too.

I thought it was kind of funny that Fin started off his address by

telling everyone what he is not going to talk about, which means he

just talked about it

Also, it seems that Justin and Brian took special notice of Alex.  But

why?

Once again, thanks for the chapter and the story.

   DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David! Thank you for continuing to read this story, and for bearing with me in between updates; hopefully I can update quicker now that I am not betaing so many authors.  I have really grown to love Fin and Tony's relationship, and there will be more to come between them as they adjust to their new lives.  Both men are strong and confident, which could create some difficulty. But their love will persevere and carry them through eventually. As for Alex, there will be some further adjustments needed by both men, as well as by her. Where her ultimate role lies remains to be seen, but it will be resolved before I'm done.

Thank you again for reading, and especially for taking the time to comment, David! It is greatly appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Finally Fin sworn in. Nice chapter. I hope things go smoothly for him and Tony. I know how your creative mind works---sooooo, maybe a few bumps along the way. I will tell Lee this is up, he is sleeping. Just got off a double. Is there a problem with your job. I read in one of your answers to a reviewer something going not so well. Sorry, just worried for you. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc! Don't apolozie; I appreciate your concern.  My teaching job is secure for this year; but it's on a year-to-year contract, and the enrollment has been way down. So not sure if I will have the class next year or not, which will leave me out in the cold, at least figuratively speaking.  I'm hoping they'll find some role for me, however.  Might be the impetus I need to actually try and write a fiction novel, though; would love to try at some point.

There may be a few other 'bumps in the road,' especially with Alex, and I do have some loose ends to tie up yet, so at least a few more chapters to go.;)  Give Lee my love. And as always, thank you for all the support! *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow what a chapter in this we see the full gamut of emotions for Fin. He wants the role but he cannot believe he is there, he wants his partner and his son very close. However he knows that he has the love of his partner Tony and son and son in law and the extended family.

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris! I'm so glad you're still following this story, my friend; thank you for the support. Yes, for a confident man, Fin is still a little nervous about his new role. But I have a feeling he will rise to the occasion. At the same time, he will need to reassure his partner that things will not drastically change between them.

I should be able to update this again fairly soon. Thank you as always for all your encouragement, Chris; it is greatly appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

That was one hell of an inauguration! Things definitely seem to be on the ascendant for this congressional family. Great update my friend!!!

Author's Response:

Hi Tamara! Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for your support, my friend. Yes, one hurdle down, but a few more to go.  I'll get this updated again just as fast as I can. I'm not betaing as many stories right now, so that should help.;)  Thanks again for the feedback, and for bearing with me. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wonderful chapter.  I just hope Fin doesn't develop a cold.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for reading this latest chapter. Don't worry; I think Tony will help to keep him warm.;)  He's going to be much too busy a man for such mundane things as colds.;)  I am very happy you enjoyed this chapter! I love your story! Fin & Tony are amazing as is little Alex.  Good to know that the story goes on because I am so sad to reach the end. What I've read so far has been wonderful.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for telling me that you are enjoying this story, and for reading, my friend!  It is helps, I may SAY I am nearing the end, but that could take several more chapters yet.;)  I DO have the next part written, and will be posting it soon; just debating whether or not to add to it.;) Thank you for all the support! *Hugs* ~Kim

I sure as hell didn't see that coming!  What an ending to this chapter!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thanks for reading this latest chapter, and especially for the comments; I'm glad I surprised you a little.;)  Brian will probably play the tough guy now (at least just a little), but he will need reassurance from his aunt and uncle - and their support and love - now more than ever.  I hope you continue to enjoy this story! I will get another update posted as soon as I can. Thanks again.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

This chapter was so romantic, my friend. A beautiful chapter in this incredible story. It was a wonderful Christmas for our boys and the exchanged gifts were very appropriate and meaningful to each.

I loved seeing Brian's emotion. It was a great time.

Hugs, my friend! Fatima.

Oh what a wonderful romantic and so sweet chapter Kim. The gift of Justin's to Brian is priceless and he got a gift back in Brian saying how much he loved him;👍👏Chris

Author's Response:

Thank you, Chris! I'm so delighted that you liked this chapter, and their gifts. I thought Justin's gift, especially, was appropriate in light of him being the one who started them on this journey initially. I have another part that I will be posting soon before moving back to "Stallion." Thanks so much for reading, and for your feedback, my friend; it is deeply appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi there. What a beautiful chapter and a real treat to find another chapter of this story.  Look forward to next part & catching up with Finn & Tony - has Tony's moment come ... I wonder

Author's Response:

Hi, Henri! Thank you very muich for reading, and especially taking the time to comment; I deeply appreciate that.  I thought it best to write this part about Christmas and get it posted before finishing up the next part, which is well on its way. I will post that, which includes Fin's inauguration and the subsequent festivities, before I move back to "Stallion."  And you just may get your answer to this question coming up, so I hope you will stay tuned.;)

What a sweet gift, for a man who can watch those happy times in his mother's life.  Brian needs to see that there was happiness there once.  And love Justin's bracelet, too.

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  I can always count on your support; thank you for that.;)  Glad you liked the gifts.  I didn't want to go the route of the typical art supplies for Justin, so I tried to come up with something an artist would like besides that.  I actually have a lot more of the next part written, so as soon as I finish up with that, I will post it as well before moving back to "Stallion."  Now I have to come up with a proper Valentine's Day one-shot.;)

Thanks again for reading, and for your feedback.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a nice chapter, well worth the wait. Nice to see Brian choked up--he has a heart after all and it's nice to see. Lee still with me and his cat too, who he has named Jamocha, mocha for short. Nice, well behaved little guy. I don't know how much longer they will stay, but for now it's nice. We get along well and he does chores quite efficiently==his words..Ha!! Everyone is well here. Hope you are healthy and doing well also. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear frriends! I'm so happy to hear from you; you have me spoiled, and was a little worried when I posted an update to "Stallion" and didn't see you there.;) So glad to hear that everyone is doing well. I love Lee's name for the newest member of the family!  You're so great to let them bunk with you for a while.;)

I actually have a lot more of this written, but decided since it involved three weeks prior to the next part it might be a good idea to get this posted before I finish up the next segment, so there will actually be another post to this soon before I move back to "Stallion." And, of course, Valentine's Day is coming up, so I'm hoping I can think of a one-shot for that.;)

I will be taking a trip this weekend to LA, partly to sit in the bleacher seats at the Red Carpet for the SAG Awards. Should be quite a experience.  I already emptied out as many photos as I could on my cellphone just in case since we are allowed to take photos - ha!  Looking forward to it.

Thanks again for everything, lindc! And please give Lee my love.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara, my friend!  I'm glad you liked the boys' gifts.;)  I was going to wait until I had it all written, but since it seemed to break naturally here before the inauguration, I thought it best to split it up.;)  I'll make sure you get a good seat for Fin's inauguration coming up, though.;)  Thanks so much for reading, and for the feedback, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Thank you for your feedback, and for reading! Yes, there will be a lot of excitement coming up in the next part, between the inauguration, the subsequent festivities, and Fin and Tony settling into their new lives.  I thought our two boys needed a little private time for some loving in the meantime.:)  I'll have the rest of this up shortly; thanks again fro your support! Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for your kind words.;) I was going to wait until I had all of it written, but thought it best to post this part separately, since it involves two distinct time periods; the next part will move the story along three weeks later, as Fin gets ready to finally be sworn in as governor. Tickled, tickled, tickled to see another chapter on this.  And a Christmas tale at that! It's nice to know what everyone is doing.  Tell me that Fin is planning to surprise Tony with a proposal?  I hate to see the man so sad.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! I am so delighted that you were happy to see another chapter, and that you are still following this story despite the long lapse between updates; thank you for that.;)  The issue of marriage WILL be resolved one way or the other soon. Will Fin - after speaking with his son - realize how important it is to Tony, or will Tony finally decide that Fin's love is enough for him?  We will see coming up.;)

Poor Tony...why doesn't he just be honest with Fin and tell him how he feels. And Fin better learn to be quicker on the uptake when it comes to his partner or they could be headed towards some troubled waters...hopefully the family meal will help to shed a little light on the matter.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara! Thank you for continuing to follow along on this story; I appreciate that so much, my friend.;) Tony did discuss marriage with him in an earlier chapter, and Fin more or less pooh-poohed it as not being significant, so I think Tony feels it would be pointless to bring it up again. But it WILL be resolved one way or the other before the story is over.  Thanks again for your support. I'll do my best to get this updated a lot faster next time! *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: Rixa (Signed) · Date: December 04, 2014 03:44 PM · On: Wishes from Santa

I'm kind of surprised that Tony hasn't thought of proposing himself. Why does he think that Finn has to be the one to do it? Sometimes if you want something badly enough you just have to do it yourself.

Author's Response:

Hi, Rixa! Thank you for still following this story; I greatly appreciate that. You have a valid point - Tony is a strong person, confident person in his own right - but I think he hesitates due to their discussing the issue before.  At that time, Fin had indicated that while he wasn't totally adverse to the idea, he didn't really feel a need for it, so I think Tony feels it would be pointless to bring it up again. But this issue WILL be resolved before the story is over, so I hope you will stay tuned.;)

I will do my best to work on getting this updated a lot faster.  As I mentioned, this year has been extremely challenging for me, but this story is one of my favorites, and Tony & Fin are probably two of my most favorite original characters I have written (along with Kaylee and Katie in "Parent Trap), so this story WILL be finished.  Thanks again.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Poor Tony, he got his hopes up just to be disappointed. I know Fin has a surprise for him--during his swearing in or some other lfty occasion. I know you and you will not let him down for too long. Nice chapter, glad to see you are back on track sort of. I know how hard this year has been for you and some of us. Hopefully 2015 will be better for all of us. I have been talking to Lee--he is having same personal issues. I worry about him as he really needs his friends around him right now and he feels lonely and down hearted. I think he will be coming back to us soon. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc!  Yes, FINALLY got a chance to update this. Hopefully I will be able to get it updated a lot faster next time.  You will find out the answer to your question about Fin and Tony coming up soon, BTW.:)

I am so glad that Lee has you as a friend. He left me a guest review on my other story through fanfiction.net, and I am very concerned about him. My heart went out to him over the words he left for me, but I feel so helpless that  can't answer him. I would really like to either email or DM him perhaps on Twitter, even if he has to open an anonymous account to do it. I respect his privacy, but I would dearly like to be able to address him directly. Please ask him to consider it.  I will accept whatever he wants to do, but I wound up deleting the guest review he left for me on FF.net before it could be posted publicly, because I just felt it was too personal for strangers to read, and I respect him too much to do that.  But please let him know how much his words deeply touched me; I kept a copy of it on my computer because I really needed that more than he knows.  He doesn't realize what a truly special person he is.

Please tell him I am thinking about him, and how wonderful a man he is. There IS someone out there for him; he just hasn't found her yet. I am sure of it.  Also, please give everyone my best wishes and my love - as well as wishing them a very Merry Christmas.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I love this story and even though I am a HUGE fan of quick updates when this story just appears out of nowhere I am always happy to see it. Now for some story comments I admit that like Tony I was hoping to see a ring but maybe that's a better birthday present. I also would have liked to read what Justin got Brian and what Brian got Justin as well as what they got for Gus and Alex besides the  camera because I know there is more  maybe that's a short extra chapter just so we can find out.  Just a suggestion....

Oh, your Gus is precious.  It's hard for Alex to be mean and sarcastic when the person she is aiming it at totally doesn't understand and continues to think she is awesome at every turn.  LOL.  Gus is like her very own cheering section - and even SHE knows he cant fake it.

Brian teaching his dad about the meaning of marriage and why someone would want to do it is... surreal. And very sweet.

I hope you update this story again soon.  You write fantastically long chapters.

Author's Response:

Hi, Michelle - Thank you for all the wonderful comments on this story; this means so much to me, and it is very motivating for me as a writer. And yes, the chapters ARE long - LOL!  I glad you like them.  I'm enjoying writing the 'idol worship' of Alex by Gus; it IS hard to be mad at someone like that.;)  I should be updating this soon. I'm working on a new story that has multiple chapter that was supposed to be for the fan fiction summer challenge that I didn't have done in time. Wait... How old is Alex again, LOL?

"I want you to look at him, Fin; really look at him."

That scene with Brian and Fin surreptitiously watching Justin and Tony was my favorite. I also loved the argument Brian gave Fin for marriage.

Nice chapter, :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra!  I'm so happy to see you still reading this one.;)  I think the part with Brian and Fin watching their soul mates was one of my favorites, too.  And I'm glad you liked Brian's argument for marriage; it's hard to write his opinion on that, and still keep him in character. Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for your comments, Chris.  Yes, I think with someone like Alex, it would be a gradual healing process. And Brian?  I think he's finally on the marriage train - ha! Hi, Susan! What a delight to read your comments, and to hear from you. Thank you for continuing to read this story, even though the updates are longer in between than I would like.  But I WILL get it done. Still have a ways to go yet, though  I am thrilled that you enjoy Fin and Tony's relationship; out of all the OC's that I have created, these are probably my two favorites (well, Tricky is my favorite non-human OC - ha!).

Will get this updated again just as soon as I can; I still have Christmas and the inauguration to go, along with wrapping up a lot of loose ends.;)  Hope you continue to enjoy it. Give the furry baby another belly rub and kiss from me.;  *Hugs* ~Kim

I WAS TOLD OF THESE LAST TWO UPDATES. SORRY I WAS ON VACATION WHEN THE FIRST ONE CAME OUT. JUST GOT BASCK AND LEARNED THEY WERE HERE. NICE TO HAVE YOU BSCK FROM YOUR MANY ENDEAVORS. ALEX IS COMING AROUND FINALLY UNDER THEIR TUTALEGE. I HOPE FIN AND TONY GET MARRIED. AFTER THEIR TALK HE MAY CONSIDER IT EVEN THOUGH HE HAS A LOT OF IRONS IN THE FIRE. I THINK TONY WOULD FEEL MORE SATIISFIED TO BE MORE THAN THE BOYFRIEND OF THE GUV. OUR CLICK STILL ARE WAITING FOR THE BABY TO APPEAR LINDC, ESPECIALLY. SHE IS INTO BABIES RIGHT NOW. HA!!. LUV 2 U.

Author's Response:

Hi,Sweetheart! I'm always so happy to hear from you. I hope you had a wonderful time on vacation!  Tell lindc she just may get her wish, but it would be a while yet.;)  I do hope you are doing well. When I went to NYC this past July, I immediately thought of you at the fountain in Central Park.;)  That park is amazing. Got to see a lot more of it this time with my nephew, and one of my photos I tweeted was even favorited by the Central Park twitter account.  I was so excited - ha!  It was a shot of the arches  in front of the fountain, with people silhouetted inside.;)

I have to move onto my other WIP now, but will do my best to get this updated again just as soon as I can.  Please stay in touch whenever you are able to. You will always hold a special place in my heart, along with lindc, Brian and the others. Sending my love back to you as well.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hey Kim! I've got to tell you, this chapter touched me in a very personal way. I can relate to both Alex and Emmett in the respect that I know what it's like to be a foster child. As for Fin and Tony, I think the wise father should listen to his son ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara! I consider it a great honor if you were moved by this chapter; hopefully I did it justice.;)  As for a stubborn man's dilemma about his partner...hmmm...will have to wait and see on that. But it will be answered at some point before I'm done with this.;)

Thanks for reading, and for your comments, dear friend. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim, Great Chapter.  I bet Fin has been proposing during his walk with Tony.  Lots of really good updates today.  I just realized we are both on chapter 42 of our stories.  Hope Alex gets to stay with the boys.  Looking forwad to your next update.  Bill

Author's Response:

Hi, Bill!  Thank you as always for your support, my friend, especially since I know you're busy working on your own story.;)  Funny how we're working on the same chapter number! But I know you're updating a lot faster than I.  If only I could make a living at this...

Anyway, thank you for reading, and for the comments. As for if and when on the proposal, I'm going to plead the fifth for the sake of suspense.;)  Will get this updated again just as soon as I can. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Love love love this especially Gus and Alex. Curious to see what Fin decides to do.  Especially love that I got 2 chapters really quick

Author's Response:

I'm so happy you liked this chapter! I enjoyed writing the interaction between Gus and Alex, too.;)  I have to update "Tame the Wild Stallion" next,  but will do my best to return to this just as soon as I can. Thanks very much for reading, and for the comments! Both are greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

It would take Gus to get through to Alex.  Looks like Tony's going to get his wish and Fin's going to be very happy about it.  That was some story about Emmett's childhood and it fits in perfectly.  Looking forward to them actually eating, the conversation should be a hoot.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  I thought it was important that Alex and Gus develop some type of bond.;) And I wanted to get all the family together again after Fin's election.  Will get this updated again just as soon as I can. Thank you for all the support, and for the comments!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Just a quick shout out to say I haven't forgotten this story. I fell out of the audience fold when I got under the weather, medically speaking there for a while; however, I plan to get back to it real soon. Don't know if I'll start over or try to find where I left off. Reviews should locate my last chapter read.

Any clues available on how many volumes this epic tale is planned to have? ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Bob!  LOL! Are you insinuating that I write long stories? (tee, hee).  Thank you for popping in.  As for how many more? Depending upon how detailed I get, I'm thinking 3, maybe 4 more chapters? It's nearing the end, but I'm not quite there yet.;) So maybe you might want to wait until I'm totally done with it.  I do like to name the chapters, though; I prefer that with other writers, too, because I have enough trouble remembering where I left off if they're not named - LOL!;)  Thanks for visiting, my friend! *Hugs*  ~Kim

Woww big surprise to see this update and a very nice update.

Love the scene about eating breakfast. Haha. Justin is doing great as a dad.

*giggles*  my name is in this story ..

Alex gifted! She is in good hands with Brian and Justin. Talk to her, that she can stay forever as their girl. Adopt the girl. But I also like to see a lttle baby.

Love Fin and Tony together. But aggrrr why is Tony still so insecure? I know why but ..  *sigh* . Maybe at the end of this story Fin will ask Tony to marry him. Please.

Glad to see Alex laughing. Hope she sees that Britin isn't a prison and Brian and Justin or not wards, but really nice people who wants the best for her.

Hope to see the next chapter in a couple of days.

*hugs*

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Thank you for still reading, and for the comments, my friend. I really appreciate that. And I'm sorry it's been so long that you had to go back and re-read.  One of these days I'll start only posting stories that are finished first, so you won't have to deal with that.;)  I hope you'll bear with me in the meantime. Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend. Thank you for reading, and for the feedback.  I actually have a nephew and a mom who were involved with gifted education, and they do tend to be easily bored if they are not kept challenged, so it seemed logical for Alex to be of that ilk.;) I'll have the next part of this up very soon. Hey Kim! I absolutely love the way Justin and Brian are slowly building their relationship with Alex. She is very damaged and is going to require quite a bit of attention and reassurance for her to start to heal.

Please hurry back with the second half of this wonderful update...i can't wait to see what happens at dinner ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara, my friend!  I'm glad you are still enjoying this story; just so sorry it's taking me so long in between updates. That's why I wanted to post the first part, at least, so everyone knows I haven't forgotten it.  It WILL be finished.;)  And I did not think it was realistic to make Alex whole so quickly; as you said, she has experienced a lot, so I would think it would be a more gradual process.

Thanks again for your encouragement, Tamara. I appreciate that so much. I'll get the next part up very soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hello dear Kim!

It's great to see another chapter of this story.

I think pretty much the celebration in the Day after Thanksgiving in USA  and I realize it is a moment of great value family ties, then bring that moment to his story was very touching.

I think the relationship of Justin, Brian and Alex pretty much. It is very exciting to see the  boys learn how to deal with a child. You know how I am a goofy to see Justin as a parent and I think Brian is the kind of father who can only give the best of themselves to their children.  And Alex is a very special child who can only bring so much joy to the boys.

I'm happy to see more of this great story and anxious to see what comes in the next chapter.

A big hug, my friend!

Fátima.

MY MY MY!!! I am so glad you are back. It's been quite a dry spell. We know you have been busy doing other things. My listeners want to know if you are giving up writing to beta for others. I said "NEVER"-- RIGHT??? It's just that we miss you when you are not here. I will tell Lee about the updste. He is on vacation in Cabo with his new significant other. Surprise Huh?? Brian is dating, rather seriously, again--and poor little me still working, working, working. I am going to New Zealand to see Queen and my Adam in September. My great aunt lives in Auckland so I will be staying with her for a few days. I haven't seen her for eight years. We stay in touch regularly-so when this concert came up she told me to come on down. Am so excited. I hope you and your mom are well and are healthy. Remember to take your vitamins girl. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, Lindc! I'm so happy to be able to update this, and especially to hear from you!  I actually DID sneak in a short one-shot about a week ago called "Chemistry" when I needed a short break from the angst.;)  I'm happy to hear that Brian and Lee are doing so well. And how exciting for you regarding your trip to Australia! I always wanted to see that beautiful country. I hope you have a wonderful time. I did get to see Randy's new play, "Atomic," which was great.  Loved his singing, especially.;)  And finally got to see "Such Good People," too. Enjoyed it a great deal.

And yes, still doing beta work for three other authors. Actually, it's more than that, except that a couple of them haven't updated in a long while.  Sigh..I know. Need to quit doing that, because it definitely cuts into how much time I have to work on my own stories.  But I have another part of this I will be posting soon, and am making good progress on "Tame the Wild Stallion," and have a couple new ones in the works I'm working on behind the scenes, so I'm slowly getting back on track.

It's SO good to hear from you! I have missed you, too! Thank you for bearing with me, and for always being so supportive of my stories. That really does help me to keep going, and it so motivating to me.  Stay in touch, and please give everyone my love.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

hey Kim, I don't know if I am more excited to see more of this story after all this time, or just to hear from you - you ahve been missed my friend

love where this chapter is goin - the relationships are always my soft spot - you know that - and the changes in Alex that we have already seen - along with the ones I know we will see once the boys make the decision we know that they will - ae delightful to watch

plus - what better place for me to get all my 'family aura' than at the Thanksgiving table - can't wait until dinner starts! I can almost taste the turkey...lol

seriously - glad you are back - and hope that means all is well with you - if you ever need an 'ear' - I'm always willing to 'listen'

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle! You're so sweet; thank you for your kind words, my friend.;)  Yes, with my father's passing, helping three authors to  beta, and some other RL issues, it has been hard to keep writing. I feel awful about how long I have to go in between updates. But at least I just have the two WIPs going, so that helps.  I actually have quite a bit of "Stallion" already written, so that will help, too, and the next part to this is almost finished.

I'm glad someone hasn't forgotten me.;)  It's exciting to see so many new stories on here, though! I still have quite a bit to tell about this story, so I hope readers will bear with me while I continue to work on it. My two WIPs WILL be finished, just like all the others before them.;)  Thanks for all the support, Charle! I appreciate that so much, dear.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Alois. Thank you for the comments, and for letting me know you'll be reading it eventually.  I'm assuming you've already read the sequel (Wedding Present), although it could be read without doing that.  Makes more sense that way, though.;)  Now I wonder which 'people' you could be referring to? ;)  I AM glad to get this update posted finally, though, and I'm trying very hard NOT to post anything new until it's finished first.  Thank you again for taking the time to comment. *Hugs*  ~Kim

“Brian and I have both had experience with feeling alienated from our family, and not feeling like we belonged.”
"I know this isn't the purpose you originally wanted for this room..."

I’ve come to like the idea of Brian and Justin fostering Alex. The speech both of them gave to the girl was passionate and something the girl needed to hear and I could see how much they both could relate to her predicament. Justin put his dream on hold for a good cause. And that bedroom was awesome!

I still feel sorry for Tony. I’m hoping he can get his wish fulfilled in the future.

I like how this story has progressed.

Sandra :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra. Always so good to hear from you. Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your feedback.  I think especially for Brian it is fitting that he pursue fostering Alex.  It certainly won't be without its share of difficulty and strife, but seeing as how he has benefited from getting to know HIS real father, I think it is apt.

It remains to be seen how Justin's dream will play out, as well as Tony's situation, but I do have a bit more to tell yet.  I'll try hard to update this sooner than last time.  I'm working on my other WIP first, though, and my father's recent passing has pushed back some of my goals, but it WILL get completed. Thank you for bearing with me until then, and for your support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

We have been working doubles so just saw the sad news today. I don't know what to say except how sorry we all are for you and your mom. It's really hard for the ones left behind. I don't think it matters how old one is when they pass, as people say they led a good or long life. I think that is crass to say and doesn't make the families feel any better. We will still say prayers for you and your mom. lots of love to you from all of us. lol

Author's Response:

Hello, my special friends.  Thank you for your kind words.  To say this has been a very difficult two weeks is a vast understatement.  Yesterday was my father's visitation, funeral, and burial, so needless to say it was extremely gutwrenching.  My mother asked someone to play the piano and sing "You'll Never Walk Alone," which was sung at her and my father's wedding almost 60 years ago.  Very touching but also heartbreaking.  She is hanging in there, but is understandably lost without him.

Being Mother's Day today, it brings home how blessed I am to still have her with me, though, and I AM grateful that I was with my mom at hospice when my father passed away.

Thank you again for all your words of support and comfort; they are most appreciated.  Sending my love back to you all.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hey! it's just me again dropping a note from all your best buds. I hope this finds your dad somewhat better. I read on your site where he will be going to hospice. That is a wonderful, caring place to be. These people are the best at what they do as they help not only the patient but the family members as well. We are still saying prayers for you all. Lee is very upset for your family-he gets very emotional when we discuss it. I guess it has to do with all the things he has had to endure in his short life. We all send aour prayers and love to you. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my dear friends. My dad is resting comfortably so far, but his body is slowly shutting down. My mother is with him in his hospice room at night, and I have been going there during the day.  It is so heartbreaking to see her in so much pain. They did everything together for almost 60 years, and I know she will be lost without him.  I hope I can provide her with the comfort she will need in the next several months. They had a special kind of abiding love that you don't see much anymore.  He is a wonderful husband and father, and will be dearly missed by all of us. My mom slept with his pillow clutched in her hands yesterday, and it about broke my heart. She asked me to pick out his burial outfit today. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I did it for her.  We are comforted somewhat by our faith that they will be reunited again one day, though. Thank you all for your support and kindness. And give Lee a big hug for me. You are all very dear to me.  Sending my love to all of you.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi. Lee. Thank you for your kind words and for the prayers, sweetheart. Both are greatly appreciated.  He almost had to have a breathing tube placed today due to some very harsh breathing, but they made some changes to his oxygen and feeding tube, and for now he is stable without it. Kim, lindc told us of your plight with your dad. I can emphathize with you as my aunt had a similar problem. She was elderly but tough. She came out of it quite well. There are about 30 workers and listeners saying prayers and wishing you and your family well. Stay strong for them and keep the faith.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Brian. That is comforting to hear. He is so out of it right now, and just failed his swallow test, so will have to have a feeding tube put in. He will NOT like that, I know, but I also realize it has to be done.  It's so hard to see him in this condition, but I am holding out hope he will still come out of this.  Do you all realize how special and dear you are to me?  Your good wishes and prayers are a real comfort. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Kim welcome back my friend :D Poor Tony and Fin...This political transition is going to be difficult on them for quite some time. Hopefully the love they have for each other will be strong enough to see them through.

Meanwhile Brian and Justin have their hands full with little miss Alex. I can understand her unwillingness to trust, but I think given time she will realize that she is much more than a charity case to our boys.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara - thank you as always for reading and for the comments.  I'm glad you're still following this story.;) Agree with you on both counts.  I am gratified, though, that Fin should remain fiercely protective of his partner, and I don't think his love for him is in question.  I do think they will have their work cut out for them in the privacy department, though.

As for Alex, yes, i feel she is more than just a one-dimensional character.  There is definitely more there beneath the surface, and I think Brian may just be the one who manages to find it. Thank again for the feedback, Tamara, and for reading; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yeah!!! our "fav" is back in all her splendor. This was a wonderful chapter. I know I wanted Jus to have an infant, but maybe things will work out with Alex. The bedroom is beautiful. Who wouldn't fall in love with that room. They still have a long row to hoe with her. I can't see this ending with one more chapter. There are still too many snags to work on. I hope Tony gets used to the celebrity he has been thrust into soon. I thiink a wedding for them should be on the docket before this story ends. Lee is better. I told him when I called this was here, so expect a review from him soon. Poor kid he has had a close call with pneumonia. He works too much, double shifts too much. BB said to say hello from him-he is so busy and needs a vacation. I hope your mum and dad are doing ok. Please take the low road on all your things you are doing. We can't take a chance on your getting sick. I guess we have been too dependent on you being our writing guru here. Your strories are our breath of fresh air in our over-worked very tiring days. I hope you know how important that and you are to us. SOOOO!!!!! please take it a little slower and smell the coffee!!. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc and all the peeps.;) Thank you as always for your comments.  I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner. I am in the middle of a serious family health concern. My father fell and hit his head Saturday, and wound up being admitted to a neuro ICO unit with bleeding on the brain.  He has an artificial heart valve, so they have been forced to cut off his blood thinners to try and clot the bleeding in the brain, which makes him vulnerable to a stroke. So far the 3 CT scans do not show any further bleeding, but for the next few days we are holding our breath to see whether or not he has a stroke.  Don't feel we have much choice, though, about our options.  In the meantime, hard to see him tied down due to his agitation and combativeness, but they claim that coming from the pressure on the brain and his age.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for me. He is still in a very tenuous place.  And thank you for all the love and support; that means so much to me, especially now.  Sending my love back to you, Brian, Lee, and all the others.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Aww...thanks, Marny!  It's good to know you're still following it. I'm just sorry it's taken so long. I will try hard to get it updated a lot sooner this time. For now, I have to move over to my other WIP. Thank you for reading and for the support; it is much appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

this universe is amazing!!! i really love brian and justin's relationship here, it's so mature and hot, they still love each other so much! i didn't think i would like this story, it seemed there are too many new characters for my taste but you made all of them so unique and interesting, i love all of them! it's a great story, and great, superb chapter! love it!

Author's Response:

Aww..thank you for trusting in me to treat the boys correctly.;)  I'm glad you gave this one a chance.  I have really come to love Fin & Tony in this story as if they were regular characters from the show.  Thank you for reading and for the comments.  I will try very hard to get this updated again very soon.  *Hug*  ~Kim

Poor Tony, being the Gov's love isn't easy.  Things are looking up for Alex, hopefully she'll go with the flow.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend. Thank you for sticking with this story, and for the comments. I know I've been so remiss in updating, but it feels good to get one posted at last. I will try hard to get it updated a lot sooner this time!  My teaching is over in seven weeks, so that will make it easier.  I'm glad you're still following this. Thank you for reading, and for the feedback; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  Kim

Hi Kim,

I’m still following this great story ;  ) HA- I thought for a minute there Brian was going to fall asleep while Justin was giving him a massage and had to laugh at the comment “I’m in the mood for you to do some riding” since my story is right below yours, haha.

Yikes, poor Tony, I can’t even imagine how he feels being swarmed by the media first thing in the morning, or any time for that matter. It’s a good thing Marty came out and helped him get into the building, that would leave anyone with shaky legs.

Alex is a hard cookie to break, she has a lot of anger and resentment built up inside, but at the same time, I think, really just wants someone to love her and make her feel like she belongs somewhere. I have no doubt Justin and Brian will get through to her. BTW, I love her bedroom, and the cat ; )

As always a wonderful chapter, my friend : ) Hugs ~ Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet! Ha - forgot about the cat in the photo.  Oops! I don't think we'll be introducing the cat into the story, though, or that will take me ANOTHER chapter to explain  LOL!  Yeah, the 'riding' did tie in together, didn't it?  Yee-haw!  I'm glad you're still following the story.  I felt so awful about not updating sooner, but hopefully the next time will be a lot faster.  Thank you for bearing with me in the meantime.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

So happy to see an update.  Great story.  We both have them being foster parents which is pretty funny.  I think they are going to have a tougher time with Alex.  Rea;;u enjoyed this chapter.  Bill

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for the comments, Bill.  I know - I think you're right about Alex.  BTW, I'm really sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on your own story lately. It has been an extremely busy period for me right now; hence, the extreme gap in updating this. But I promise I will get caught up soon. I have missed reading your story! Thanks again, Bill, for your thoughtfulness; it is much appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Well, here I am again. We are all wondering if you are ok? Lee, is especially worried about you. I told him you are probably taking a small time out, what with your busy schedule. I told him I would ask if you are alright. He has had a bad cold and is out for a few days. My listening group has grown to 20-25, Have had to move to another break room. You have many followers, girl. Just want to say hey and check on you. Do you think Randy's movie will be circulated every where after its premier? I try to keep up on your other site. You certainly have the inside track on him. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc!  First of all, you don't know what it means to have someone check on me.  I was kind of afraid that everyone had forgotten me because of how long it's taking me to update.  I am thankful to all of you for caring about me.  I feel awful that I haven't been able to update lately. Writing gives me so much pleasure, and I really feel a void not being able to do that.  I am a strong believer in never leaving a story undone as you know so this really bothers me!  Anyway, the Twitter issue was resolved - thankfully - long story.  But between that, my trip, my full-time job, being beta for 4 other writers, admin duties on here, and having a set of elderly parents - plus needing to get reaccredited with another company for our adult ed program at school - it has been a very difficult few monhs!

I really was intending on wrapping up "My Heart's Desire" in this next chapter but, of course, that is not going to happen (I can see that now!). I just don't want to rush it just to get it finished.  BUT...I DO have about 13,000 words of it written, and it is close to a good stopping point for the chapter, so I am hoping to perhaps get it posted by tomorrow.  And then I will be going back to "Tame the Wild Stallion," plus working on a new short story behind the scenes that will probably be 2 - 3 chapters long. Won't post that one, though until it's finished.

Anyway, tell Lee I hope he feels better soon! And thank everyone for not only reading my stories but for all the support. That is what keeps me going, and I will never be able to thank you all enough for that.  I WILL have another update to this very shortly - promise!  It is uppermost in my mind constantly.  Give everyone my love and my deep appreciation to them, and thank you again for the note and for the concern.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I was on your profile site and saw all the nice vids of adam on Glee and with the boys from Queen. I am buying my tickets Monday to see them. I am so excited, I guess as excited as you are to be going to Spain. When are you going--I forgot. I guess we will both have a blast. Just a note here. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend! How great that you will get to go! I hope you have a wonderful time.  I leave for Bilbao two weeks from Tuesday (3/26). Excited but a little nervous, too, since I will be flying on my own and have to change at 3 different airports.  I will return on April 31, so will be there from Tuesday through Sunday.  I will be taking my tablet and will be armed wih cameras, so I'm hoping  to get some good photos and hope to post on my LJ.  I'm working on the update right now to "Tame the Wild Stallion," BTW, and should have it updated very soon.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I RREALLY HAVE TO APOLOGISE FOR NOT READING THIS LAST CHAPTER- IT IS SORT OF GETTING ALEX OFF HER BAD RUN. STILL WONDERING HOW SHE WILL FARE WHEREVER SO WINDS UP. I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY LATELY-WORKING DOUBLES OR SIX DAYS AND NIGHTS STRAIGHT. AWFUL AM SO TIRED. FLU HAS HIT HERE WITH A PASSION. PEOPLE GO TO WORK NOT FEELING WELL-THUS GIVING IT TO OTHERS MAKING US SHORT-HANDED BIG TIME. THEY GAVE FREE FLU SHOTS BUT I GUESS NOT ALL GOT THEM. HAVE YOU BEEN EXTRA BUSY LATELY? I WAS SURPRISED WHEN LINDC SAID YOU HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING AS OFTEN AS YOU HAVE IN THE PAST. I KNOW HOW BUSY DRIVES YOU DOWNWARD-HOPE TO SEE NEW CHAPTERS SOON. LUV 2 U

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetheart!  I'm always so happy to hear from you, and consistently humbled that you take the time to leave a comment when I know how busy you are.;)  Thank you for reading my stories, and for doing that; I am very honored.  You sound extremely busy!  And yes, I have been busy as well, mainly helping with the administration work on the site, making banners, and playing beta for other writers along with the teaching job.  I don't think my posting has been too much slower lately, though; but we were down for about three weeks before, and everyone had to play catch up with re-posting lost chapters (four alone with Parent Trap - ugh!), so that probably had some bearing on that.  I did post a one-shot a couple of weeks ago (With Love from Me to You) for Valentine's Day, and I'm working on the next update to "Tame the Wild Stallion," so I'm trying to get back on schedule.;)  I will be traveling to Bilbao, Spain the last week of March to the "Queens of the Road" con with Randy, Peter, Gale, and Scott, so that will temporarily throw me off again.;) But I will have internet access, and will be posting photos and posts about the event on my LJ while I'm there. And I think it will be worth it, don't you?;)

Once this story is done, I think I see a new Tricky story coming for the boys' wedding from the last story.;)  Thank you again, Lee, for being such a wonderful supporter of my stories, and for being the special person you are.  I hope you will always stay in touch as you're able to, because I care about you.  Say hello to Brian and Lindc and the others for me.  Sending my love back to you as well.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Hey, that's okay. I still appreciate it greatly.;)  Thanks for the feedback.  I guess Brian could be OOC here. But I really think he could relate to Alex and what she might be going through.  I (hope) I can wrap this up in one more, long, additional chapter.  (Finally!).  But I will miss the Fin and Tony 'verse, so I may just have to pay them a visit again sometime. Fantastic chapter as always, Kim! I felt really bad for Alex. My heart just went out to her when she was crying in JR's room. And I felt sad for Justin because his dreams are being put on hold, but at the same time I was proud that he was putting Alex's welfare before presonal desires. Very admirable and very Sunshine-like.

Can't wait for the next installment.

Cheers,

Vin

Am I glad to see another chapter on this one.  I can't get over how Brian ends up knowing just what to say and do.  Somehow I think this will all work out for the best.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend. Thank you as always for your support and for the comments.  I suppose some may feel Brian is OOC here, and I guess that's right to an extent. But I truly feel that with his son, Debbie, and most importantly Justin's influence that he could progress to the point where he can provide this sort of support to another 'wounded bird.'  I will probably have one more chapter - a LONG one  or maybe two - to progress them all down the road and wrap things up before I put this one to bed. THANK YOU again for all the encouragement; it is very motivating to me.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I was right the first time Alex had appeared I said Brian and Justin would adopt her and I was right, it's hardly a surprise since a lot of story like this always ends up with Brian and Justin adopting the stray they met. Anyway its your story so what the hell right, I wish though Debbie had kept Alex, I don't know how to explain it but I think Debbie is the right person for Alex.Although i kind a don't like the part were Debbie was telling Brian how lost and alone he was and how she and her son had help him, I felt like she's guilting him of something so he would agree even if he didn't want to. And somehow I can feel Brian didn't want to but was force into the situation and something that is force to someone can't end up well. Anyway I hope you update your other story especialy the father, the son and the blond!

Author's Response:

Hello, there.  Thank you for reading and for the honest comments. I figured everyone wouldn't be happy with how I chose to write about Alex's situation. No matter how I wrote it, some would have liked it and some wouldn't have.  And while Debbie could have been a better choice, I really didn't feel at her age and Carl's age that it would be a task she would be able to undertake.  I recall how her health had suffered during the show when she worked too many nights, for instance, and while she has always been more apt to take in 'strays,' for want of a better term, I really don't think she had the physical fortitude at this stage in her life to take on that responsibility full-time, nor would it have been fair to her.  That's not to say she can't continue to have a good influence on Alex and provide guidance to the two boys.  I'm sorry you're disappointed and feel that the plot is contrived.  And while Brian might be willing to do things to please Justin, I think he has enough backbone to say no when he really means no.  He didn't agree right away, for example, to raise a baby, which to me might be more difficult than raising someone Alex's age.  And she is being taken in as a FOSTER child, not an adoptee. That is not to say that might not happen; I don't want to mislead anyone. But I can't think of anyone more understanding of how it feels to be adopted - and not experience an ideal childhood - than Brian. His adoptive situation was far from ideal - just the opposite - but now that he has established a good relationship with his real father, I think, he, above everyone else, can understand what it might feel like to be adopted into a loving home, one that he and Justin could provide.  That was the ultimate reason why I chose for them to accept Alex into their family.

Again, I'm sorry if you are disappointed in that, but I felt that was the way this story needed to go. The next chapter will wrap up what has been happening in all their lives about a year down the road.  I appreciate you reading this chapter and leaving me your thoughts.  Hopefully you will check out some more of my stories and find them more to your liking.  As for "The Father, the Son, and the Blond," my co-writer has been bogged down with a multitude of final exams in her home country, and that is why it has not been updated. But I have been in touch with her a couple of times lately, and she has assured me she will be working on it.  It WILL be completed as are all my other stories.  ~Kim

Hi Kim, I'm borrowing my friend's computer quickly to answer some reviews and e-mails etc. I just wanted to say how heart-warming this chapter was. It really brought tears to my eyes at the end. You conveyed perfectly how fragile Alex really is - and just wants to be loved. And gruff old Daddy bear Brian is the one to do it!! She'll wrap him round her little finger in no time I'm sure... When you write about him it always shines through how much of a GOOD man he is, even when he's doing it in a roundabout or backhanded way :-)

BTW: did you read that my computer broke - smoke and flames came out of the back! So I don't know if I can recover any of the data, we'll see... but I've ordered a new one. Due 13-23 January from America. I will see if the data can be recovered otherwise I'll have to start writing again... Shame really, cause I was doing really well with the story and had written so much new stuff, just ready for you to beta :-( but main thing is that it didn't hurt the kids!! My boy was watching peppa pig at the time and luckily I was in the room! Could have been dangerous otherwise, if he'd tried to "help"!! haha!! So, I'll get back to you asap on the updates for Man's Ruin.

I love this story by the way... BTW: did I tell you, I love all your stories especially "The Paper Hearts Killer"(1), "I Don't" (2),  "Tame the Wild Stallion"(3) and "Stirring up Trouble" (4)!! Just thought I should let you know you are very much appreciated xx

Author's Response:

Hi, Lisa! Glad you were able to get online temporarily.  Yes, I read your author's note about your computer issues. Sooo sorry to hear that!  I did send you a note to let you know I probably have at least part of what you lost that I had already beta'd.  Don't know if that will help, but maybe it will a little, at least.  I have the part after his surgery, for example, where he and Justin are waiting for the results, etc.  So let me know once you get your new computer if you want me to send that part back to you or not.  I could also even post it for you if you want, but I would need your password to do that.;)

As for this story, thank you for taking the trouble to borrow a computer and leave me your thoughts on this chapter.  I'm glad that you liked it.  As someone else pointed out, Brian could definitely be considered OOC here, but hopefully not too much.  I think we saw some signs of his softening toward the later eps on the show, and I could see him doing this for a fellow 'wounded bird.'  And I think he could identify with how she feels if he recalls his own childhood experiences.

And thank you for your kind words about my stories!  You have listed some of my personal favorites, too.  Wondering, BTW, if you ever read "Remember Me?" That was one of my favorites as well.;)  Thank you again for the support, Lisa! And let me know if there's anything I can do to help in the meantime.  I'm sure your readers will be patiently, but eagerly waiting for your next updates.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

omg.  Brian Kinney is just...GUH.  To be perfectly honest this seems a whole lot out of character (maybe even a bit out of MY comfort zone); however, I think Brian doesn't even know who he really is.  JUSTIN does, but not Brian.  I'm thinking that Brian always credits Justin (for his strength, determination, and love) for them working as a couple, and thinks its just a fluke his son loves him.  This may be the only way to prove to himself that he could be a good parent in the day-to-day way.  Because you know he just wants to give Justin anything & everything he wants.I always look forward to your updates, even if I can only handle two or three WIPS at a time.  :)I can't wait to see where you will take them next.Happy New Year!

Author's Response:

Hi, Michelle!  Thank you for reading, and for the comments.:)

Perhaps you are right about Brian being too OOC here; if he is, hopefully you will still continue to enjoy the story.  I can understand your feelings.  I just think after all this time with Justin that he could begin to express himself a little more openly, and that Alex may be the conduit to do just that.  I think he would have to feel out of his comfort zone in how to support a young, troubled girl such as Alex. I do think the two of them, though, could actually bond because of that.  And I also feel, like you, that he sometimes doubts his abilities when it comes to Gus, as well.  He's still a little in awe that Gus could love him because he's a good father and worthy of it, and not just because he happened to get lucky.

I suppose this whole story - and "Wedding Present" - has always presented Brian as OOC.  He has always been more willing to express his love to Justin in these two stories, so hopefully you will allow me some more leeway with that.;) THANK YOU again for the support - and I hope you have a great 2014 as well.  I do have some new story ideas - waiting until I have one or two of these finished, or even three first - so I hope you'll check them out when they get posted, and that I can write stories that you will enjoy.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim, I was so pleased to see this story updated and then to find three chapters lol oh reading heaven :) well lots happening. Justin making sure Fin does not take his lover Tony for granted and then putting his own dreams on hold. Brian realising and holding close the fact he loves his family and wanting them close and safe. Now he is seeing how he can help another .

Hi Kim : ) Seems Alex has a hidden talent with her drawing so there may be something her and Justin can connect on. And, despite her and Brian’s differences, he and Justin could give her something she’s never had before, a real, loving home. I think there may be a few more bumps before they truly get there but she’s finally found someone she can trust and I think she’s just beginning to realize that. Somehow I have the feeling that the temporary foster home just may turn out to be a more perminent one.

This was a great chapter, I really enjoyed reading it, oh and BTW, now I’m hungry for cheesecake  ; ) Hugs ~ Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet, my friend! Thanks for reading and for your comments.;)  I've actually made that recipe, and while those fruits can be a pain in the 'you-know-what,' it did turn out wonderfully.  Would probably do it again if the need arises.;)  I am planning on a nice, long concluding chapter coming up that I think will tie most of the loose ends up, including what happens to Alex and the idea of a baby, along with Fin and Tony, etc.  So I hope you continue to enjoy it.  Will get it updated just as soon as I can.  Thank you again, Janet.  Stay in touch!  Looking forward to the updates to your own story, too.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I don't know about this-I wanted them to have a baby. All the good things said in this chapter are all good but I am not overjoyed with Alex. I know she has had a dastardly hard sad life. Sorry, just my point of view-I will probably be alone in this as others will be happy for her and hope the boys will ride out the storm with her. BB is teaching again in Arizona and he took Lee with him for moral support I guess. The rest of us will hold down the fort til they returen. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, Lindc!  Yes, I understand how you feel.  Hopefully I will have a solution coming up that will appeal to both camps.  I think she deserves a chance to redeem herself, though and hopefully they will all be happy in the end.  I was torn about it, but this was the way my muse steered me.  I hope you will bear with me until I can work through the rest of the story.  Say hello to Lee and Brian for me when you speak with me. wow Kim=  you really have me all kerflummoxed with this chapter - my emotions are all over the place

let me clarify - this is probably the most heartwarming scene I have read here on MW - I am just a puddle - Brian opening up to her, her opening up to him, ending with him holding her...and then his line...'everything will be okay, it's all right now, no one's going to hurt you again' - so unexpected and poignant - I can see the look between Brian and Justin at the end in my mind's eye - and its overwhelming and sweet

then it occurs to me that this means that Justin does not get the chance to hold his own flesh and blood and the indescribable  joy that brings - and my heart hurts for him

then I go back to what a difference they will make for this little girl - and all they have to offer her - and how she and Justin will bond with the art - and how perfect this is - and how pieces of Brian that no one could touch can be healed because she knows - and he can offer the same to her

oh my friend -  when you write you make us feel right along with the characters - what a gift - I can't wait to read what you have in store for us next

Happy New Year - hope the coming months offer you all you could hope for

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Aww...Charle, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments.  It feels kind of lonely on here at times, and then someone such as yourself takes the time to comment in depth, and it makes me feel so much better.  (Not to minimize Marny's comments, of course, nor anyone else's).  I totally understand your dilemma, too, regarding Alex and a baby.  I think I have a solution that will work coming up, but I know some people won't like them fostering Alex.  Ultimately I felt, though, that this was the way to go.  If THEY can't provide the compassion and understanding to her, then who can?  I think as Debbie stated it's important that someone step up to the plate and help this girl, and I do think that Brian can understand how she might feel.  After all, he had a similiar experience growing up, and so did Justin to a lesser degree when he was older.  They should be able to understand that she is not as tough as she appears.

The next chapter is actually going to move them forward in time, and I think will wrap up some loose ends.  Not sure if it will be the last chapter - knowing my wordiness, probably not! - but it's heading toward a conclusion now. Thank you again for your very heartfelt comments and for all the support you give me; it means more to me than you probably know.  I wish nothing but the best for you in the coming year, too, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Happy New to you too. We did have a good Christmas.
I did read (and see on television) that it's really cold in north America. Here it's too warm for the time of year. * grins * But I don't mind. It's 14°C instead of only 3°C.

Wowww Kim that was beautiful, I need a tissue. Thanks for writing this wonderful, heartbreaking chapter.

Author's Response:

Hi, Marny!  I was just thinking about you, my dear.;)  Hope you had a good Christmas, and wishing you the best for the coming year. Quite cold here right now!  But I had one last day off from teaching due to that, so at least I was able to get this story updated at last.  I think I see maybe one more, long chapter to go before this one is FINALLY wrapped up. Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment, my friend.  Say hello to your daughters for me.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hey Kim, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I was busy busy reading your story lol.

So I read "The wedding present" again and then I read this story. I love it and can't wait for the next chapter.

I didn't comment on each chapter but I wanted to let you know that it's a great story. I was nervous along them waiting for the result, I couldn't wait for them to discover what Adam was up to (even if I didn't think they would find out that way lol), and I want to know what Brian and Justin will do with Alex and the child they're going to have (wink wink).

Mathilde

Author's Response:

Hi, Mathilde! Thank you for reading this story, and for your thoughtful comments!  I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.:) When I began to write this sequel to "The Wedding Present," I never imagined it would be longer than the original.  I guess I had a lot to tell in this one, though.;)  I'm happy that you are enjoying it.  The dilemma regarding the child will be covered in the next chapter, which I hope to have posted soon. I believe this story is up next in my rotation, although I AM working on a fairly short Christmas story that I hope to have posted for the 25th first.

Thank you again for the support!  I really am honored that you chose to read my stories, and I hope I can continue to write ones that you will enjoy. And I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

It seems like you’re determined to give Justin and Brian a baby/child in some shape or form and that Brian realizing that he really doesn’t want a child is not in the cards? In some ways I’m kind of disappointed that it looks like it’s going that way since in every single story I’ve read where Justin wants a child and Brian doesn’t or isn’t sure, it ends up with them having a child even though Brian’s point of view is just as valid as Justin’s. When asked why, I was told that it was because Brian wants to make Justin happy, but in my opinion that should work both ways and Justin should want to make Brian happy too. So it would be a nice change to read a story where Brian decides he doesn’t really want a child and his decision prevails. Personally I believe that any couple, not just Brian and Justin, should discuss the issue of children before they make a long term commitment since it could be a deal breaker but that hasn’t happened in any QAF story that I’ve ever read.
Since it does look like Brian and Justin will be getting a child I hope they either take in Alex or adopt another child/baby. Partly because, as you said yourself, it fits in well with the theme of this story and partly because you’ve already written three stories where Justin has a biological child so it would be nice to see you take this issue in a different direction.

Author's Response:

Hello, Rixa - I thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this chapter.  Yes, my intention all along - especially since Brian was adopted himself in a not-so-loving environment - was to include an adopted child in this story.  I feel that would be appropriate in light of his own journey. And BTW, I agree with you.  I personally do not like having a child named "Briana," or having Daphne always as the biological mother as you mentioned in a previous review comment.  I think that's taking the easy way out, although in "She's Your Daughter," I DID have Issy name their granddaughter "Taylor Brianna Halsted," so maybe I'm just as guilty as the next person from time to time of that.  But normally I try to be a little more creative than that.

And I would never have Justin arbitrarily decide to adopt or have a biological child without Brian's input and agreement.  That would be both selfish as well as narrow-minded.  I don't necessarily agree that Brian does not want a child here.  He never said either way; he merely said he wanted to wait until after the election before they discussed it.  Whether that child will wind up being Alex, a baby, another older child - or none at all - remains to be seen, although I do think Brian might feel like adopting a child would be a way to rectify what happened to him as a child.  I believe that would not be out of character for him in this story.

Again, I can't tell from your feedback if you like this story or not. But I do thank you for your thoughtfulness in taking the time to comment.  ~Kim

SORRY! I AM A LITTLE REMISS IN REVIEWING. HAVEN'T HAD THE CHANCE TO SIT DOWN AND READ TIL NOW. PEOPLE OUT SICK SO I WORKED SOME DOUBLES-TIRING, BUT GOOD IN THE OLE' WALLET AS THEY PAY US OT. THIS CHAPTER WAS A GREAT GLIMPSE INTO WHERE THEY WILL BE COHABITING. NICE PICTURES! I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS ALEX THING. MAYBE DEBBIE SHOULD TAKE HER SHE CAN WHIP HER INTO SHAPE IN NO TIME AS SHE KEEPS ALL HER BOYS IN LINE QUITE WELL. THE HUMMER IS DOING WELL. I REALLY FEEL SAFE IN THERE AND PEOPLE STILL GIVE ME THE RIGHT OF WAY--RESALLY FUNNY SOME DAYS. I GUESS I SHOULD GET SOME REST NOW. HAVE A GOOD THANKSGIVING-WE ARE HAVING POT LUCK DINNER AT THE HOSPITSL-SHOULD BE A GOOD TIME. LUV 2 U.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetheart! So glad to hear from you, and to know you are recovered and back to work.:)  I think with your track record that the Hummer was the way to go - LOL!  I'm so happy you're still following the story.;)  I will definitely be covering more in the next part about the 'baby' issue, as well as what to do with Alex.

I hope you, Lindc, Brian, and the others have a nice Thanksgiving.  Sending my love and a big hug back to you. Keep in touch!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What are we going to do with her, Carl?"

I've been periodically reading "The Sunshine Files" by Thyme and Sabina. I can see this could very well be heading in that direction and I would not have a problem with it. It looks like Alex is about to become part of the family. Brian already sort of adopted her and he should follow through as far as I'm concerned. I think there's room in both Brian's and Justin's hearts for Alex and others if needed which is why I think this would make a good Sunshine Files universe. It would also be a way for the story to never end. There is still so much more I want to know about Alex and I want to see more of Fin and Tony.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra! Thank you for reading and for your comments, my friend.  I'm still trying to decide what to do about Alex.  There's a couple ways I could go. I think I know what I want to do. It may not please everyone, but it's the way my plot bunny is heading.  I should be devoting much more to this situation in the next chapter, along with the 'baby' discussion at long last.  As for the Sunshine Files, I have heard of that story, but believe it or not, I have never read it, so I really don't know anything about the plot. I have certainly heard of the authors, though.

Thank you again for all the support!  It is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a wonderful chapter, as usual, your descriptions just absolutely floor me-you are the BEST and this chapter proves that. I really hope that Alex isn't going to be their child-not too overjoyed with that thought. I don't think a baby is the answer either, maybe a child closer to Gus's age. Sorry just my thoughts. We are all ok here. Lee hasn't seen this update as he is working tonite. I am off and will finish TLC tomorrow. Am taking December off from the listeners as a lot of people will be on vscation that month and want me to wait.. I only have 3 chapters left for tomorrow. Hope you are well and have a good Thanksgiving if I don't review before then. Most of us are on call, so are having a piot luck Turkey day. Everyone is bring something to eat. Should be fun. lol

Author's Response:

Hello, dear friend!  I'm always so delighted to hear from you.  I always look forward to it.  I'm glad that everyone is doing so well, especially our accident-prone Lee - LOL!  Poor man. If he's working, though, he must be doing better. I'm so happy to hear that!  I appreciate the feedback; I'm trying to figure out what to do with Alex.  I will be devoting a lot more time to that in the next chapter, both to Alex's situation as well as Brian and Justin's discussion about another child.  Not sure yet just which way I will go, but I kind of like the idea of adoption, no matter who they wind up with. I think that would be quite fitting in light of the plot and how Brian has found his father again.  Of course, his adoption didn't go so well, but he and Fin are growing closer each day, and I could see him wanting to provide another child with the love and support that he never received growing up.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!  BTW, I'm assuming you saw Adam Lambert on Glee? He rocked it out!  Amazing!  If not, here's the link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaJ3FLqCEQk.  Take care and give everyone my love.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim!

I have to say it's always a bittersweet feeling when it appears one of your stories is nearing an end. You always take your readers on such an incredible, and unique journey. After the end, it's always missed. I had to backtrack and get myself caught up again. Due to RL and my own updates, I have become so woefully behind on so many things! I know you understand how that is, though! :)

Another great chapter on what has become quite an epic story. I can't wait to see how life continues to progress for all of them - the original characters included. Thanks for the update! *Hugss*

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet - I'm finally able to get on the site to respond; haven't been able to access it for hours now. Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your lovely feedback.  I appreciate that so much.  Perhaps one day down the road I will write a sequel, because like your beloved king in "Captivated" and "A Kingdom Divided," I have really grown to love Fin and Tony's characters, and would hate to see them disappear now. Thank you again for the comments!   *Hugs*  ~Kim

Can't wait for the next update. I have a feeling that Alex would be living at Britin  soon and that Brian and Justin might adopt her. I don't know why but its  my guess.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend! Thank you for reading and reviewing this chapter!  You may be right about Alex; I have some ideas where to take the plot regarding her, and will be concentrating on her part of the story - and the issue of a baby - in the next part as I start to wind this story down to its conclusion. Thank you again for taking the time to comment and for your support; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Damn it Deb....just when Justin had finally worked up the nerve to talk to Brian about starting a family...but on the other hand, she might be on to something trying to get Alex placed in their care. I think it's a wonderful idea and would save her undue emotional trauma.

The silver lining in all this, is that Fin and Tony are starting to feel more comfortable about their impending living arrangements and the many changes to come.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  First of all, thank you for all the support you give me and for so many other writers.  You're so faithful about that, and it is deeply appreciated.  As for the story, I admit I'm kind of torn as to what to do about Alex.  I'm not convinced that she's a permanent fit with B and J with Justin yearning for a baby, but perhaps there's a way to come to a compromise here.  I have some ideas about that coming up in the next chapter. ;)  And I think Fin is trying hard to convince Tony that things will, indeed, work out for them in the governor's mansion.

Thanks again for reading and for the comments, my friend!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Fin & Tony should be happy in the mansion, as long as there are locks on the doors.  Good for them.  Nice story.

Hi, my friend!  Thanks for reading, and for the comments.;)  I think Fin - thanks in part to Justin's private conversation with him - will work hard to ensure that Tony knows how special he is to him, and will fervently try to keep him happy.  If he knows what's good for him, he'd better!;)  Now I have to figure out the best course of action for Alex.  Thanks again for the support.;)  *Hugs* ~Kim

So good to see more on this.  The Governor's mansion looks fantastic!  But somehow I sense that things are not going to be back to normal any time soon.  Deb's arrival will spring a surprise Brian's way and Justin still has to introduce his wishes for the nursery.  More things to come, I'm sure.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thanks for reading this latest chapter, and for your comments.  Poor Justin - just can't seem to catch a break when it comes to one of  his own 'heart's desires!  I'm not sure Alex should be a permanent fixture at Britin, but perhaps there's a way to make everyone happy nonetheless.  Now that Tony and Fin are getting settled, it's time to deal with the 'Alex' and baby issue.  I'll be addressing that in the next chapter.  Thanks again for reading and for the comments!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Love the chapter! This may sound weird but I don't want Justin and Brian to adopt Alex. In my opinion, Justin wants a child they can raise from the start and I think Brian wants that too. But, hey, its your story and whatever you decide will be great like all your other stories. This story seems to be wrapping up which makes me sad. But maybe another sequel on the way?

Author's Response:

Hello, there! Thank you for reading and for taking the time to leave a comment!  I really appreciate that.  As for the story, I can understand your viewpoint about Alex.  I'm kind of torn myself on this one.  I think there may be a way to eventually make all of them happy; I will be delving more into that in the next chapter. And yes, I do see this one wrapping up perhaps in a couple more chapters.  As for a sequel, I'm very flattered that you would want one!;)  And I am grateful for you sticking by this story despite the rather long time in between updates.  I would love to update sooner, but my RL job and a lot of other responsibilities always seem to interfere. But like all my other stories, this one WILL be finished.;)  Not sure of a sequel, but rest assured I have a LOT of new story ideas coming up.  I just don't want to start another WIP until I get one or two of these finished first.  I do see "The Father, The Son, and The Blond" wrapping up soon, too; my co-writer and I should be updating that perhaps later today.

Thank you again for reading and for your kinds words!  I am very appreciative.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I read this as soon as I saw it published but RL has been hectic. Even now, I'm reviewing while helping the kid with homework. ;P

"She's an ungrateful little shit."

No matter what, I have to give it to Mikey for looking out for Brian even if it's a little overprotective and, essentially, the man was right, and, like Mikey, I'm still wondering what possessed Brian to take Alex in. I'm also wondering about Justin's desire to have a child. Is that still in his thoughts?

It was nice of Justin to look out for his older counterpart.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend - thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your comments; I greatly appreciate that.  I think the pregnant Brian story has taken over - ha!  So it's nice to know someone's been reading this one.;)  Yes, Alex is the big sticking point right now. Will have to do something with her.  I think Justin did think about the baby in this chapter somewhere along the line, so the idea is definitely in his thoughts.  He and Brian will be having a discussion about that coming up.

I will have quite a bit yet to resolve here.  I hope you will continue to enjoy it, Sandra. Thank you again for the support.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Hurray!  Fin won!  But how will this affect his relationship with Tony, being in the public spotlight?  Nice that Gus and his grandparents were able to show up.  And what's going to happen with Alex?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Yes, that's the major issue right now; I will have to give that some serious thought. I think I know which way I'm leaning, but I'll have to ponder that a bit more.  In the meantime, I think I'll have some fun with Brian checking out the governor's mansion.  But will it be like father, like son? Great chapter, Kim. Great scene at Babylon. I hope that seeing so many friends and loved ones of our boys, will make Alex want to stay with them. Debbie's demand that Michael vote at the last minute, was hilarious. And the little scenes between Brian and Justin, and Fin and Tony were great.

Author's Response:

Hi, Marny!  THERE'S that happy dance; I've missed that! LOL!  Fin says he is honored that you are celebrating.;)  I have found an online, virtual tour of the PA Governor's mansion, and I think I'm going to have fun, especially, with Brian's reaction to it (wink, wink).  Let's just say I don't think it's his normal designer style, but I'm confident he will make the most of it.;)

I'll see what I can do about Alex coming up. Something will have to be decided about her, but she's not exactly ingratiating herself with who may wind up being her future grandmother, is she? Ha!  I think underneath that tough shell, though, is a very unhappy, fragile little girl.

I'll get this updated just as soon as I can. In the meantime, I'm moving onto "Parent Trap" and two OTHER little girls.;) Thanks for reading and for the comments, Marny.  I appreciate that so much.  Hope you have a good week, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim!

Sorry, I've been MIA for so long, but RL is still being a bit of a bitch and is not letting me enjoy myself to the fullest quite yet.

Anyway, I am happy that I finally have a decent chunk of time to spend on reading today and I'm so glad I started with this chapter - it was a good one! I loved reading about Fin and Tony's romance and the scene between Alex and Debbie. I am curious what you'll end up doing with Alex's character, but my marshmalloyee heart desperately wants her to end up with Brian and Justin. I keep imagining the court system thinking that Carl and Deb are too old to take on a teenage runaway and threatening to send her to a foster home, or worse a group home, and BJ charging in on their white horse and adopting her at the last minute...or something totally cool, yet unrealistic like that. :) But however it turns out, I'm sure you'll make it wonderful, so I can't wait to find out.

That's it for this chapter. Now, I am happily going to read the next one. Lucky me!

Hugs,

Vin

Author's Response:

Hi, Dear Friend!  It is so great to see you reading again. Sory to hear that RL is still giving you grief. I do hope that things turn around for you soon.  Thank you for reading this last two chapters and for your comments.  I'm glad that you enjoyed them.  Yes, Alex is going to be the real conundrum here - does she stay with Carl and Debbie, who should really be thinking about their 'golden years' of retirement rather than raising a child, Brian and Justin - who has his heart set on a baby of his own, or perhaps place her into the foster care system with total strangers?  Or is there some other option still?  And how will Tony & Fin react to living in the governor's mansion? And what about Tony's wish to be married like Justin and Brian are?  Obviously I still have more to tell here.  I hope you'll be able to come back and read along as you get time.

Drop me a liine sometime if you can and let me know how you are doing so we can catch up.  I think of you often and hope that in the future we can meet up again. Tell your mother I said hello, and I hope one day you will honor us with some more of your own, wonderful writing. Take care, Vin.  Sending a big hug your way.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi, Susana!  Yes, I thought a while about whether or not to have him win, but in the long run I decided that was the way I wanted to take it.  It won't be easy for him and Tony, but I think with the great love they  have for each other they will be able to weather any challenges that come up.  Thanks so much for reading and for the comments, my friend! As for this story, no, I won't go THAT far out into the future or I would never get done; maybe a sequel down the road perhaps.  I WILL probably get as far as the swearing in, or at least take it beyond the election to where Fin is setting up his new digs.  I found out there is a virtual tour of the Governor's mansion for PA, so I will be using that for 'research.'  I think Brian's going to want to properly 'christen' the new digs with his hubby - ha!

I definitely have quite a bit more to tell here, in addition to Alex's situation. There is the matter of a possible child for B and J, as well as Tony and Fin getting comfortable with their new reality.

So glad to hear that you are continung to get better!  Keep getting some rest and take care of yourself. Thank you for the kind words and for reading.  I always look foward to hearing from you, my friend.  Sending my love back to you, too.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

This chapter answered most of my doubts and questions except who will wind up with Alex. I hope it's not the boys as Justin would like a baby.. This story was quite emotional for me in places. I will pass on to LEE that this chapter is here. He is still recuping at home. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for the comments.  Hope Lee enjoys it, and I hope he's continuing to recover quickly.  Yes, Alex is still the main question here. Justin badly wants a child, and Alex is certainly a street-smart kid; far removed from the child/baby stage, although I suspect she is more fragile than she lets on. And Debbie & Carl are probably too old to go through rearing an 11-year-old kid. So what to do with her? It doesn't seem right to throw her into the foster care system at this stage.  I will have to give all that some serious thought.  I suspect where I'm heading with it, but I will have to stew on that.

Thanks again for all the support!  I know I always say that, but I never want you to think I take that for granted.;)  Say hello to everyone and give them my very best regards.  *Hugs* ~Kim

WOW! What a beautiful update! It brought tears to my eyes. Thank You

Author's Response:

Thank YOU for reading and taking the time to comment; I am so glad that you liked it.;)  I will update it again just as soon as I can.  I still have quite a bit to cover in this, even with the election now over. Thank you again for the support!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

"Let's see what YOUR paralegals can find out."

I think I love the story of Fin and Tony even more than Brian and Justin's.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra  I can understand that in a way.  I have really grown to love these two guys, kind of like an older version of their counterparts, but hopefully still somewhat unique.  I think their relationship will continue to evolve here, just like with Brian and Justin.

Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend; I will get another part of this up soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Susana! Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend.  I really appreciate that.  I'm glad you enjoyed reading about how Fin and Tony met; I have been wanting to do that for some time now.  I will get the next part of this posted very soon.  Looking forward to seeing you in March!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

so glad to be able to visits with all the great characters in this story - and of course with our boys

while the election campaign gave great story - and of course got everyone where they need to be for the plot to move forward - we know its all about the love - and there are so many relationships to drive the next chapters that I truly can't wait until the results are in and we can look at each of them more closely...

Brian and Justin...of course...family planning...still learning more about each other as they grow...what's not to love? And if they do decide to have a baby...who will be the momma - and what part will she play in their lives?

Brian and Fin...their story is not done...they still have things to work through and feelings to share and memories to make...

Justin and Tony...other than Daphne - all of 'their' friends have been Brian's friends...I love that Justin's actions brought this man into their family...and it has been great to watch their friendship develop

Alex and...everyone! There are so many layers to this story - Justin seeing through her anger is just the beginning. And her relationship with Debbie will allow us to look at her through totally new eyes as well.

ok...I'll stop...lol...for now! rotfl - This story could go on for a long long time...and so I must stop myself from doing the same. ha ha

So looking forward to more...and congrats on the apparent win in the challenge - you deserve it!

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle - I am always so flattered by how much time and care you take with your comments; thank you sincerely for that, my friend.;)  And yes, there ARE a lot of layers to this story.  Just when I think I can wind it down with the election coming up, I realize how much more I want to cover here.  There IS a lot more to it after the election.  In a way, the election was never really the point of the story, athough it did serve a purpose.  I always thought the human aspect of the story - how each of the characters continue to evolve and grow, especially the four men - was really where the emphasis lay.

Even Fin and Tony will have a lot to discuss after this election is over, even though they have been together for so long.  In a way, his son is a lot more comfortable in his shell this his father is.

I will get the election coverage up soon before moving onto "Parent Trap." Thank you so much for all the support, Charle, and for the well wishes. I am very honored by that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I missed this story glad you are giving us the results before you move on. I would also like Justin to let Brian know he wants a child soon or maybe for Brian to catch on thats where Justin is headed.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for reading and for your comments.  The results (at last!) will be coming up soon; I will write that part before I head back to "Parent Trap."  And the boys did talk briefly about Justin's wish to have a child before, but Brian had told him it was best to wait until after the election was over to talk about it. So something tells me that important discussion is coming up shortly.;)  Of course, there is still the question about what to do with Alex, too.

Thanks again for reading and for taking the time to leave me feedback; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi,

There is a large piece of me that would prefer Fin loses.  I

like the relationship he now has with Tony.  It is good, very

good.  There Is no doubt that if Fin wins, things will change.

Will the relationship get better?  Maybe, but maybe not.

If Fin loses, Brian has still gained a father.  Justin has gained

a father in law and a friend, Gus has gained great grand

parents.  Sadly, although Gus now has a grand father, he and

his grand father are very distant.  What I am trying to say, is

that everyone has already won.  I would hate to have things

become screwed up by Fin winning the election.

I know my reasoning is kind a f**ked up.  But I feel that way,

and it seems right to me.  If Fin loses then everyone wins

(Brian, Justin, Tony, Gus).  If Fin wins – then who knows?

Sometimes, losing is winning.

     Thanks for this terrific story.

DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David! So great to see your comments!  I am glad that you are still following this story. And no, I don't think your reasoning is wrong.  I can understand it totally.  I know that is one of Tony's fears as well.  I can see both viewpoints here.  There will be good and bad points about winning or losing the election. Things will definitely change for a lot of them.  There could be some good come out of either outcome, as well as some issues; it remains to be seen how this plays out.  I WOULD like to get back to the more 'human' aspect of this story, especially once the election is over.

Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your always thought-provoking comments!  I always look forward to reading them.  I will get the next part up very soon.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Hey again. I forgot to ask for Nonie if parent trap is on your NEXT list after this update. I think she is quite anxious for the next chapter as it is her fav. Just thought I would ask. lol

Hi, lindc! Am so glad this new chapter is up. Lee texted me and told me, so I read it. What a wonderful chapter. I love the back story on the two others in this novella. Fin and Brian two peas in a pod as are Tony and Justin. Tony and Justin are so cute together comiserating about their men. I am not so thrilled with our way-ward girl. Will be interesting to see where you take her. Lee is waiting with baded breath for the election. He is your number one fan--after Brian and I of course. I don't know what he will do when this story is over, sadness. He is doing well, I'm not sure when he will be able to come back to work..We really need him as our team is using subs---ugh!!! Sorry but it's just not the same. I was trying to remember how old Fin and Tony are. You probably wrote it but I don't remember.. I will be reading tonite, but will have to bring people up to date that weren't here when this one started-so wish me luck with the synopsis. lol

Author's Response:

OMG, that will be a BIG job, especially if they haven't read "Wedding Present."  Maybe you need to offer a beginner's course on this topic - ha!  Yes, I definitely wish you good luck on that!  I, too, know what it's like to not have your regular team in place, so I'm sure you miss him a lot.  So glad to know he's doing okay, though, but apparently there will need to be a memorial service for the Vixen.;)

Thank you for reading and for the comments, lindc!  I had been wanting to do a backstory on them, and this seemed like a good time.  Oh, and Fin is supposed to be in his early 50's, with Tony somewhat younger, maybe late 40's or so?  Hope that helps. Will get the next chapter up very soon.  Tell everyone I said hello and thanks!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow, Kim -- I'd given up hope for this one; it's great to see you're still working on it!  I'll wait until it's finished to read, but just wanted to pop in and encourage you to keep going.  Your stories are always worth waiting for!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Yes, I know (hanging head sheepishly); it's been quite a while since the last update. I'm truly sorry about that. Between the long length of my chapters, working full-time, doing beta work and banners, co-writing a story, and working over here (well, you get the idea), my time has been very constrained lately.  I really appreciate your comment and knowing that you will be looking forward to reading it!  I will get another part up soon, and hopefully will be concluding it at some point in the near future.

Thank you again for the kind words.  Your support and encouragement mean a lot to me.  I hope you will enjoy reading it once it's complete.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hurray!  It's so nice to see this one again.  I'm dying to see how big a margin Fin wins by.  Love the  backstory on how he and Tony met.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for reading this latest installment and for the comments!  It is greatly appreciated.  I had been wanting to do a flashback about Fin and Tony for some time, so I thought this was a good time to do that. YAHOO!! MY STORY UP AT LAST. GREAT CHAPTER-FIRST HALF. I WAS WONDERING HOW THEY MET. THANX FOR THE DEDICATION-IT SEEMS YOU HAVE DONE THAT BEFORE. I THINK THE PEEPS AND THE VOCAL CROWD WILL BE A TAD JEALOUS. MAKES ME HAPPY. I AM DOING BETTER AND HOME. MY CONCUSION HAS GONE PRETTY MUCH AWAY BUT MY NECK IS STILL QUITE SORE DEPENDING HOW I MOVE. JUST LUCKY--"V" NOT SO LUCKY HAVE TO PUT HER AWAY. IT WILL COST TOO MUCH AND SHE WILL NOT BE THE SAME. THE PERSON WHO HIT ME HAS INSURANCE BUT WON'T COVER ALL THE COST AND SHE WON'T BE THE SAME SO I WILL BE WALKING FOR SOMETIME. I THINK I NEED A RESPITE FROM THE WIERDOS ON THE ROAD. PLUS I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE A LOT LONGER. EVERYONE SAID THEY WOULD GIVE ME RIDES, BUT I THINK WALKING IS IN MY FUTURE FOR AWHILE. THANKS AGAIN.LUV 2 U.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetheart!  I'm so glad to hear from you.  Tell lindc, the peeps, and vocal three that I am not slighting them (hope they realize that), but I know this story has always been your favorite.;) Tell them not to go out and get hurt, though, just to get a dedication out of me - ha!  I truly appreciate all the support you, lindc, and Brian have given me, along with all the others, for some long, Your support - along with my other dedicated readers -  is what keeps me inspired to keep going, so I never want to take that for granted.  I am grateful to each and every one of my readers!

I'm sorry to hear about your 'baby,' but had to smile when you said you had to 'put her away' - sounded like you were saying goodbye to a pet - LOL!  Just don't get hit by a car while you're walking!  Seriously, I'm so relieved that you're doing okay.  You must be one strong man - physically and emotionally - to handle everything that has been thrown your way this past year, so you should give yourself a lot of credit, Lee.;)  I'm proud of you!

I will be working on the election part of the story next, so I hope to have that up very soon.  Thanks for all the support, Sweetie; sending my love back to you, too.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Fin and Brian are more alike than either of them know lol. I can certainly understand Tony's concerns regarding the outcome of the election. not being able to have much privacy would put a strain on any relationship.

Poor Alex, hopefully Debbie and Carl can find a way to keep her with them. She so desperately wants to have some sort of stability instilled in her life and she feels that is something that Debbie and Carl can offer her.

Kim I can't wait for more....the suspense of the elections outcome is killing me lol

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara!  Thank you as always for your support, my friend. You're so good about that, and I truly appreciate it so much.  I'm glad you liked this chapter.  I really did want to get the election in here, but again, talkative me (!) couldn't quite make it.  When I got to 10,000 words+, I figured it was better to post the first part and then write the other one soon afterward.  So I will definitely have the election results in the next chapter (at last!).

As for Alex, her fate will have to be determined by what is not only best for her, but also Carl and Debbie. They really would be challenged by raising someone so young at their age.  A grandmother instead, perhaps?  Hmm...that is yet to be decided.  And what would Justin think about that, yearning for a baby to put in his imaginary nursery.  I think it goes without saying, however, that there will be a spot somewhere for her in this little band of friends/family.;)

And is Fin's election a sure thing?  Not according to the polls. And is that what would be best for him and Tony?  Another variable.

Anyway, thank you again, Tamara, for all the support you give me!  I will get the next part up very soon before I move on in my story rotation. *Hugs*  ~Kim
