I don't wonder that you struggled with this chapter! zmy goodness, it was so emotionally charged! I hopyou are going to continue this story even with your extra doodies as admin. :P

Author's Response:

Hi, Jon! Thanks for reading this latest chapter and for the comments, my friend; I appreciate that.  I apologize for how long it's taking me to update this - I know it's been ages, and I feel badly about that.  I AM working on the next chapter to this now, though, and have about 4,000 words written, so it WILL be updated just as soon as I can get the rest of the chapter completed.  RL (teaching) and my other duties have really impacted how fast I can do that, unfortunately, but it WILL definitely be updated soon AND completed at some point (I have a lot yet to tell, so this one will probably go on for a while).

Hope you - and my other readers - will stick with me until I can do that.  Thanks again for reading and for the comments.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi, Kim! My apologies for not reviewing this right away. I read this earlier in the week and I thouroughly enjoyed this chapter.

First things first - Justin's defense of his FIL was just fantastic! It was probably my favorite part of this chapter, which was already full of awesome. Secondly, Brian dealing with the kid ("Dennis the menace" - LOL!) was a fun little bit. Can't wait to see how that resolves itselt. You've told me your ideas for this situation before, but I really can't wait to read how you actually resolve it all in the end. Thirdly, all the debate, election and the intrigue around the dastardly Stewart keeps me on the edge of my seat. I love all the plot twists and am anxious to see how you resolve it.

Of course, all the bits between BJ are like icing on the cake. Yum!

Eagerly awaiting more!

Cheers,

Vin

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  I was just thinking about you, and wondering how you are.:)  Hope all is well with you.  I'm so glad  that you enjoyed this latest chapter (and you made my review count into a nice, round number now, too - ha!).  I think Craig's intentions to disrupt Fin's last debate will definitely backfire on him, and even out the odds even more now, which would be a big, fat, F-U to Craig and the other bigots, don't you think?

I think going forward I will be devoting more time to the more personal aspects of this story back home; I still want to develop Brian and Fin's bond even more, and devote more time to all the subplots running through this story.  Thank you again for your support - and your friendship - Vin; how I wish the two of us could meet up to go see Randy next month for his last OHP!  Sigh...But being in the middle of the week, there's just no way.  I'm sure the others will provide us with a lot of details and video, though.

BTW, I have a lot of "TPT's" next chapter written; it's coming up shortly.  And yes, I think the resolution of their talk is going to manifest itself in some pleasurable ways (wink, wink).  Take care and talk to you soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

OMG I so <3 this story! I can hardly wait for the next chapter

Author's Response:

Wow, thank you so much!  (Love the user name, too, BTW).  It makes me happy to know how much you're enjoying this story!  Thank you for letting me know.   I see a lot more to this story, and I will update it again just as soon as possible.  Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment; I am very grateful for that.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Way to go Justin! Poor thing, as if its not enough that he learn just how hateful Craig is behind loses doors, now the whole state knows it too.  What's up with Alex? That's just looking for trouble I think....

Author's Response:

Hi, Deb!  How ARE you?  I'm so happy to see you reading along on this one.:)  I was just thinking about you the other day, and our 'green-sock' adventure to the Berkshires with the other girls.:)  I'm suffering from 'Randy play withdrawal,' but I read somewhere that he's going to London in a couple of weeks for some event?  Looking forward to hearing some more about that.

As far as the story goes, Craig is pretty far off his rocker now - so consumed with hatred over what he perceives as a great injustice done to him that he's lashing out in the only way he knows how.  But I suspect his tirade will only serve to backfire on him soon, which will be great poetic justice in my opinion.  And as far as Alex goes, I think the kid is more a product of the environment and the family background, rather than being blatantly malacious.  I will be delving more into that in the near future.

Thanks again for reading and for the comments!   I hope we get to meet again at one of Randy's plays (crossing fingers).  *Hugs*  ~Kim

There is so much happening, but “The Moment” that Justin walked onto the stage to confront Craig is simply “The Moment,” at least to me.  What followed next was beautifully written, and very intense.  Some times it is hard to define a person, but to me, Craig is mean.  It doesn’t seem harsh enough, but I looked up its definition.  Some words used to define mean were:

             cruel, spiteful, malicious.

Yep, that defines Craig for me.  There are so many other things he should be doing rather than confront Fin, actually Justin.  Why isn’t he with his lawyers, accountants, and other professionals as he sure is in trouble.  He too has become irrational.

Finally, I am glad Brian is giving Alex another chance, or at least making an effort find out what happened.  From the initial time we met Alex, he just doesn’t sound like a kid who would do what it appears he did.

     Thanks for the chapter.

     DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David!  I'm glad to hear from you again.:)  Yes, I agree; I think it took a lot of courage for Justin to go out on that stage and confront his father, especially with all the crowd there and knowing that whatever he said would be broadcast all over the web and throughout the state.  I think, too, that Craig was, indeed, blinded by so much hatred and misplaced anger over what he perceived as a great injustice done to HIM that he didn't even stop to think about the consequences of his actions, nor does he realize that what he did may backfire on him.  I think he has finally put a face on the untold number of voters who choose not to look beyond Fin's sexuality and see the great leader that he has been for them and WOULD be for them as governor.

I will be concentrating more going forward on not only the conclusion of the campaign, but also the more personal aspects of the story, such as Alex's troubling emotions, Fin and Tony's relationship, and the father-son dynamics between Fin and Brian.

I'll be updating this again soon.  Thank you for reading and for consistently reviewing this story; I am very appreciative.  *Hugs* ~Kim

Ok Craig is on his way to the police and hopefully jail now where is Adam???  Hope you can tell us soon.

Author's Response:

Hello there!  Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment on the story.  Yes, I am hopeful that we have seen the last of Craig, and that should be the case soon with Adam as well.  I think you will find out in the next chapter where Adam is.  I am wanting to move more now toward the personal side of this story, including the ongoing relationships between the four men, Alex's back story and Brian's grandparents, among other things, in addition to the actual election results coming up, so I think Adam's role will be concluding soon.

Thank you again for following this story.:)  I will get it updated again soon. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow!  This just keeps getting better and better.

Poor Justin!  Craig seriously needs to get over himself and his homophobia.  Nobody wants to hear it anymore, and it is seriously hurting his son.  So glad Brian got there just in time to support him when he needed it most.

I have a feeling Adam isn't done yet, but I hope he gets what's coming to him soon.

And Alex needs to shut his mouth and realize that he's about to experience the best thing that has ever happened to him.  He couldn't have dreamed any better people to have in his corner than Brian, Justin, Debbie and Jennifer.  He's about to learn what love really is.

Great job, Kim!  I didn't see any mistakes at all, but then I don't look for mistakes in your writing, I just enjoy every single word.  Can't wait for the next chapter!

BTW. I know you've posted a couple of one shots lately, and I promise I will eventually get caught up.  RL is still being a bitch and it has me way behind.  Sorry about that!

Author's Response:

Hi, Nita!  OMG, I was just thinking about you today and wondering how you were!  I'm so happy to hear from you again, but very sorry to hear that RL is not treating you well.  I'm happy that you liked this chapter, however; I'm trying to tie up a few loose ends in the story, but still have quite a ways to go before it all ends.  Some things are winding down, but others are still just beginning in a way.  For example, there is a lot more to Alex than meets the eye, and I think both Debbie and Hunter will play a key role in breaking through that hard shell the kid has.  Stewart will be dealt with shortly; I feel he's pretty much caused as much havoc as I would like, and I'd prefer to start focusing more on the human aspect of the story and the relationships between the four men, Alex, Brian's grandparents, etc.  And there's that dream of Justin to be a father as well as Tony's hopes and dreams as well.  Whew!  I don't see this one ending fairly soon as you can imagine.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, Nita!  Please stay in touch as you're able to and take care of yourself; I'll be thinking about you, my friend.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Another great chapter - not quite sure what you were worried about!  Look forward to the next instalment.  My current favourite of your stories and a lovely sunday evening treat for those of us across the pond to get to read the next instalment tonight ...

My current favourite of your stories.  Another great chapter - not quite sure what you were worried about ...!  Look forward to the next instalment. A Sunday evening treat for those of us across the pond ...

Author's Response:

Hi, Henri!  Thank you for those kind words, my friend; I appreciate that.:)  I don't know what it was about this chapter, but it just drove me nuts - ha!  So glad that you liked it, though.  Obviously Alex will be featured more in upcoming chapters as the election slowly drives towards its conclusion.  Something tells me that Craig may have just made a big mistake, though, with his vitrolic outburst.  There's still a lot for me to tell here, though, so I hope you'll hang on until I can flesh it all out.  Thanks again for reading and for the comments!  I'll get this updated again very soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Nice way to keep the story going.  Justin needed to tell his father off and might have won some votes for Fin in the process.  Way to go.

- Jackie

Author's Response:

Hi, Jackie!  I think you have that right; I think Craig has just made a big mistake and is going to pay dearly for it in a lot of ways.  Thanks so much for reading this rather long chapter and for the comments!  And can't wait to read your new story as well.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi Kim,

I really liked this chapter, but then again I can't think of anything that you've written that I *haven't* liked, ha. Way to go, Justin! bet Craig wishes he'd never shown his face now. Justin just showed everyone who the better man is, and he may have unknowingly helped Fin's campaign too. Great chapter : )

~*~ Hugs, Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet!  Thank you for trodding through that rather long chapter, my friend; hopefully I didn't throw a lot of boo-boos in there, although I did change some things around.  And I suspect you're correct; I think Craig may have just made a huge, logistical mistake, which would be poetic justice in my opinion.  Thanks for the feedback and all the support you give me, Janet.  I'm now moving onto "Parent Trap;" there're two stubborn men who need to hash out a number of things over there.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

WELL NOW LOOKY LOOKY WHAT'S HERE.  I JUST GOT HOME FROM DOING WONDERFUL LAUNDRY AND HAD A MESSAGE ON MY PHONE FROM MY FRIEND SAM THAT THIS CHAPTER WAS UP.  THIS WAS A BEAUTY WASN'T IT.  I JUST AM AMAZED AS TO HOW THIS CAMPAIGN IS GOPING.  LEAVE IT TO OUR "FRIEND" CRAIG TO AIR HIS DIRTY LAUNDRY IN SUCH A PUBLIC WAY.  HE NEEDS TO BE GUTTED.  SORRY!  DON'T LIKE HIM AT ALL.  SUCH A  HOMOPHOBIC PRICK TO QUOTE BRIAN.  THIS IS GOING TO HELP FIN.  ALL THE GAY PEOPLE WILL APPLAUDE JUSTIN AND THINK HIGHLY OF FIN AND HOPEFULLY HELP HIM WIN THIS THING.  THIS CHAPTER WAS A BRIGHT SPOT IN MY DAY.  I DON'T LIKE DOING LAUNDRY. YUCK.  LUV 2 U.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetheart!  You've been carting laundry around in the Vixen?  LOL!  Or maybe it's in the same complex so you didn't have a tub of clothes as your 'passenger.' :)  I heard your new baby is the envy of your friends; wish I could see a photo of it.:)  I'm glad you liked this chapter and Sam clued you in on it being posted.  I know this one is your favorite, and I'm very grateful for that.  I know it had been quite a while in coming; sorry about that!  My teaching has really been keeping me busy lately, but I'll still be plugging along on it as fast as I can.

There is certainly a lot going on in this story - ack!  It will take me a while yet to conclude it (you probably don't mind that, though, I suspect).  I do see the election coming up soon, and I suspect you're right; I think Craig's attempt to discredit Fin is going to backfire on him (and well it should!).

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, dear friend.  Hope your Monday and the rest of the week isn't too hectic - lindc said tomorrow had a lot of surgeries scheduled.  Take care; I'm sending my love back to you as well.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yeah!!! way to go Justin-tell that so called father s.o.b. off.  Have to give him chops for that one.  Who knew what hides in that body.  This was quite the chapter. Politics can be such a dirty world.  This kid Alex needs a good wake-up call and I think Brian may be just the one to do it with Debbie's help.  She can be a monster when needed.  Will have to see how that plays out.  I am Sam

Author's Response:

Hi, Sam!  I remember you, my friend.:) Thank you for reading this latest chapter of the story and for taking the time to comment; I appreciate that so much.  I'm glad you're enjoying this rather complex tale.  I still have a lot to cover with this one, so I hope you will be along for the rest of the ride, and I hope I can continue to entertain you with some other stories of mine as well.  Thanks again!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow! what a brave thing to do Justin.  I am so proud of him.  I don't think this will hurt the campaign at all.  It may even help things along.  The press will have a field day with this debate. I can't wait til Lee sees this chapter.  he is going into reader heaven.  He loves this story so much.  He will say this chapter is too short, as he always does.  I'm home reading this and doing housework. Ugh!  Unfortunately I don't have any elves to come in the night to do it. Ha!  Good one!!  lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc.:)  Thanks so much for reading and for the comments; I'm glad that you liked it (I was beginning to feel a little lonely over here - ha!).  I was glad to get it updated, though, because it had been so long.  And I think you may be correct; this just may help turn the tide a little for Fin's campaign.  Thanks again, my friend; if I find my own cleaning fairy, I'll send him or her over to you as soon as my house is cleaned first - LOL!  Tell everyone I said hello, and I hope Monday isn't too hectic for all of you.  *Hugs*  ~Kim
