Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked it so much; I see it that way too... A lot that Brian wanted to say, but just giving Justin the job back was easiest! :)

Taking him back: I loved it and I believe it is so in canon because that scene did portray Brian's pain for the second time in the relationship, ( first being the bashing)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much -- that is very much what I wanted to convey... Brian's pain. Thanks so much! :)

I rarely fine canon stories so originial and so detailed with new fresh ideas. You were spot on with this scene; Brian and Justin were so much IC, and the sex flowed beautifully. I give you two thumbs and ten toes up for your interpretation! Very very very well done!

Author's Response:

Awww, thank you!! That is so nice and has cheered up my day so much (and this day really needed some cheering!). I'm delighted that you liked it  -- it's sort of different than my other fics (and was actually written before any of my other published stories). Thanks so much for your feedback and enthusiasm; they are cherished!

(and gosh darn you post so fast! I'm trying to keep up and I can't -- esp. since I spilled coffee on my computer yesterday! But I will get caught up hopefully this week!) :)

I'm always excited to see a 308 gapfiller - and this is one of the best!  I always wished they'd let that scene go on for so much longer than it did, and it's nice to see 'the morning after' too . . . beautiful writing :)

Author's Response:

Wow, thanks so much! I know -- just another few hours of the "reunion" would have made for good television, right!?!

Thanks so much; I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I don't write a lot of gapfillers, but I do have one or two more planned. :)

Great story, This is one of my fave scenes from the show.  You have nicely fleshed it out and given some depth.

One point,   "because honestly Kinnetik needs someone like him" they were still at Vanguard.  I know it's a small thing, but it just kind of took me out of the story a bit too much.

Author's Response:

Thanks, I fixed that.

I liked that scene so much and it was fun to write about; I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

It's exactly how I interpreted that scene as well - so brilliantly and beautifully written!

I was *very* excited to see you're posting more of your work! :D

Author's Response:

*grins* As always, you're too kind (but don't stop writing in!!) ;)

Minoloushe had mentioned by chance that she wished for a gapfiller for this episode, and I suddenly recalled that I'd written one... way back in June / July! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!! :)

i liked it, although sometimes i think brian gave in too easily. like the scene with the kiss after he told justin he was fired. he didn't look to happy about that. he didn't know what to do or what to think. but i did like this.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I do see what you mean about that scene. It's hard to say exactly what Brian felt and was thinking throughout, especially since he's so good at hiding his feelings.

I'm very glad you liked the story. :)

story was great but I was a bit diappointed by the last line.  Maybe a bit wittier?  Overall I thought you were pretty right on canon if tht was your intention and I really liked the sex scene.

Author's Response:

Ending this one was sort of tough -- I think there were a lot of things Brian felt and didn't want to say, so he just took the safest, least emotional way out. I'm happy that it was in canon and I'm glad you liked the sex scene. Sorry about the last line :). Thanks for the review!!! :) :)

So, I am a total lurker here - never commented on anything before! But your stories are absolutely gorgeous. I love how you write the characters - they are so rich and real. And how I want them to be! So - thanks.

Author's Response:

Wow, thank you so much! I read stories for a long time before ever reviewing and then posting, so I understand where you're coming from and I have to say I'm really honored that you like my stories so much. You're so sweet!! I just posted another that will be longer, sort of like "Leaving on a Jet Plane" but maybe longer. I hope you'll enjoy it!!!! :) :)

This was wonderful!

I love that Brian let himself think those things, even if he didn't say them out loud.

The last line was precious, and so funny :)

You have a POV confusuion in the end of the sex there. It's Brian's POV but suddenly it's Justin thinking. I think it changes right around 'we might do this forever' :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much!! Brian definitely had a lot of thoughts that Justin would have loved to hear; hopefully his actions portrayed enough of it.

I'm glad you liked the last line -- Brian wanted to say so many emotional things, but.... business first!! *grins*

Thanks for the head's up; I fixed the POV problem. I wrote this before I ever thought I'd post, and I'd used spaces to change POVs (since it was just for me). Then when I edited, I deleted the spaces and then added the POV lines to separate... and obviously I missed one. Thanks so much for your help with that! :)

So glad you decided to post this. I don’t think I got around to telling you why I loved it so much, just that did. First of all, I really really like that the quotes are in bold – you’re right that they make the story better and change how it’s read. They draw us back to canon and make the speculative parts of the story seem so plausible. What stands out for me is the shared blame between Brian and Justin. That’s very realistic, in my opinion, because the breakdown of any relationship is rarely one person’s fault alone. You did a really good job with Justin too – I always felt that he comes across as faintly smug in the scene from the show. Although in all fairness, I think Justin was probably modifying his behaviour to what he thought Brian wanted him to be. Here, his underlying uncertainty and shared responsibility are evident. Oh, this gapfiller is just everything I could ask for in the reunification scene. And the sex flowed very well, as always (more porn on a Sunday!!).

And also – omg you mentioned Brian’s rapid eye-blinking when he says the line about Justin not playing violin music again!! I’ve always loved that detail (fluttering eyelashes make me all fuzzy), so you get extra special brownie points for including it here.

Author's Response:

Thanks! :)

Oh! It was the shared blame... yeah, that part is I think necessary. I don't think either one is naive enough to not see at least some of their own role in the whole mess. And in re-watching that scene (which I did like 20 times to write this, pausing then writing, then watching, pausing, writing... etc.!), I thought Brian's emotion was really palpable, though not blatant, and that Justin would definitely catch on to it... And upon doing so would have a sharp realization of what he'd done.

I'm glad this sex scene worked. I hated editing it from the original one I sent you, but I think it was necessary....

That moment with Brian -- and the part where he's sitting on his desk -- always got to me. I'm glad it worked into the story! :)
