You're a good writer but I wholeheartedly disagree with your characterization of Brian. I'm sorry but there's just no way that I could buy his "relationship" with the fed. When did he fuck anyone more than once or kissed a guy on the mouth after he and Justin set the rules. And fall a bit "in love" with the dude? lol it's just too OOC.

I was never so disappointed in my life reading your ending of this story.

If I knew more than three years ago that this is the ending you're planing I'd have never started reading it.

Whoa, did you just PO a lot of readers! What an update powerful with the scenes at the loft and when Brian viewed the painting of him for the first time. The way Ted was handled was also very well done.

I'll admit you took an unexpected turn but not totally out of left field either. While I'll join the crowd in wishing Brian shared with Justin the whole truth,my reasons are different. I do get what Brian is trying to tell Cynthia and McClaren. No suprise from me, the one who swims against the tide, but I think it's more cruel of Brian and more tragic that it is falling to McClaren to explain the situation to Justin as McClaren has proven time and time again that he understands Brian in a way Justin never will and in reality he is the one who is sacrifincing for love.

I think this chapter is true to your story and is well written as usual. The people who are upset haven't been paying attention to the style of the piece. You have been writing this in a ridicously romantic way, in the language you choose, the imagery you paint, and the plot with it's very flowery star-fated lovers theme regardless of actual reality and it's angst-ridden lows. Even McClaren is no real competition for Justin and serves to accent the tragic aspects and the B/J mystique.

We know that B/J will end up together(I will be shocked if  you end it any other way, you have spent far too much time and effort on their love and have repeatedly affirmed it and couldn't state it any plainer than "Justin would forever rule his heart"), the reader just doesn't know the how quite yet. There is some validity to Brian's viewpoint why he isn't telling Justin, it isn't the conventional view of the fandom, which usually places all blame for the downs of the relationship on Brian. One must also keep in mine that if you are planning a sequal tension and unresolved conflicts/issues will feed the sequel that will eventually, best guess, be B/J together facing Brian's blindess and end with a happily ever after that is craved by B/J shippers everywhere.

Oh you CANNOT leave it like this!  Now that would be cruel! I anxiously await the epilogue.  this story has been such an amazing journey  -  I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it, and thank you, thank you, thank you for writing it!  It will go down as one of my all time favorites!

I, too, am baffled and disappointed in how Brian never changed to stop "protecting" Justin. I was really hoping for a happy ending after all of the pain they went through. This story is an excellent piece of work and your writing is beyond talented; but I have to say that the ending of this chapter left me feeling the same way I felt at the end of episode 513. I know you had your reasons, and that everything doesn't end in happily ever after but still, I wish this one did.

BIG HUGS! Cindy

As great as this chapter has been (e.g. the way Brian dealt with Ted, the scene of the family in Deb's kitchen, etc.), the overwhelming feeling I have after finishing reading it is, unfortunately, profound disappointment.

I'm sorry. I truly am, but I just COULD NOT suspend my disbelief enough to buy Brian's reason's for not telling Justin the truth about his vision. IMO, it goes beyond selfishness, beyond just a lack of trust in his partner, beyond a lack of respect FOR his partner... To me it's a betrayal of major proportions.

After almost 800 thousand words and 60 chapters I was hoping that Brian would grow up enough (especially after everything he's been through in this story) to TRUST Justin, to TRUST Justin's LOVE for him and to TRUST their relationship, what I am left with instead is Brian selfishly leaving his partner, and supposed love of his life, in the dark about a serious health issue; and not only that, he's letting Justin's COMPETITION to do the "honors" of telling him the truth. Brian treated McLaren much more fairly and with much more respect and trust than his own partner. I truly don't know how anybody, how any person with any self-worth or self-respect would not feel insulted, belittled and betrayed.

With only the epilogue being left, I assume Justin will hear the truth from McFed and will swallow the whole explanation hook, line and sinker, like a doormat, and sweep this betrayal under the rug because the "perfect" Brian Kinney will somehow throw him a bone and allow him to finally love him. I'm sorry, but it's bullshit. I've followed this story from the beginning and I've loved it up until this chapter. I've HOPED so MUCH that Brian would finally treat Justin like an EQUAL, like a PARTNER, like a MAN.... but in the end that didn't happen...

I shouldn't be taking this so to heart - it is fanfiction after all. But I've spent HOURS reading this story. I got involved with these characters, canon and original ones. I got so invested in the plot. And I feel like I've been lead to believe that there would be a happy ending for Brian and Justin, but it looks like I've been totally wrong.

Basically, the point of my rather long rant is that there SHOULD have been a WARNING in the front page of the story letting people know that after EVERYTHING Brian's character experienced no change or growth of any kind; that he has learned nothing about love or trust, or relationships and that he'll continue to treat Justin like a child, like something less, like someone undeserving of HONESTY and RESPECT, and LOVE. While Justin's character has grown and changed; while he has realized his mistakes, made actual effort to apologize and correct his actions, and has PROMISED to never leave Brian, he is STILL being denied equal treatment as one half of that relationship. And he is still being denied TRUST, which, in my opinion, is the underpinning of any successful relationship.

Basically, I should have been warned that whatever form they end up in at the end of an epilogue, it will not be a happy Brian/Justin pairing with the kind of LOVE, TRUST and EQUALITY most B/J fans like me hope for.

I apologize if this was in any way harsh, but it's from the heart. I greatly admire you as a writer and taken purely objectively (setting emotion aside) and as a whole this was an incredible work of fan fiction. But I just couldn't not voice my disappointment, when I had SUCH high hopes for a happy resolution for these characters.

Cheers,
Vin

I have really loved this long, baffeling, sub-plotted, angst ridden story a lot.  I truly hope after all these chapters that the end will not be Brian leaving Justin for good.  I don't think my heart would survive this being the way it ends.   Please keep my heart in tact.
