Since Justin rarely cired in canon I find that part of your story stretching but yet you present it so well. The time Brian had cancer, the second night Justin saw Brian in the beginning rejected besides Daphane's car, and attacking his mom for stopping Brian from seeing him; those are the only times in five years I remember Justin crying. I must say your analysis of canon is amazing and the depth of your plot genius.

Author's Response:

You're right about the tears. I sometimes think I'm overdoing it, but I don't know what else to type to convey what I want to convey. If it were on tape, I think Gale and Randy could play it beautifully without tears and we'd all "get" what they were going through. But on paper...I just don't know how to make it work, so I just go with whatever flows through the fingers. :)

Thanks so much for the kind words and support!!

they were both drowning. dr. stevenson is their life line isn't he.

i can see how what michael said and justin's reaction to brandon nipping at brian's heels or the other guy rejecting him would throw him for a loop, but i can't believe brian would try again. he was saved by the bell, literaly.

so much guilt, so much pain. they will move on from this.

Author's Response:

I see how it does take a sort of stretch of imagination -- I just felt like a lot of the biggest "issues" for Brian about acceptance and approal and love were all being pulled around at the same time, by that time period and thought that he may've reacted this way.

You're right that they'll move on, and I like that phrase "lifeline". Very apt! :)

Thanks so much for your thoughts!! :)

I really have to say that I am enjoying this fic. I never posted a comment because I just enjoy the reading of them. Now it seems that we are moving into the what was everyone else's part in Brian's negative life situations. I am not saying that other's didn't play a part but wow. I love how other's want to slap Justin. No matter how mature a teen or early 20's someone is they are still going to do these that make you wonder if they are 5. I love that a few seem to think Justin was suppose to keep rolling over for Brian as well as some thinking Brian was suppose to just do whatever Justin wanted at the time. Maybe if both have been talking more to each other instead of at each other things could have been a little better.

Now the Mikey comment I saw as a time for Brian to go and think about some things. It was not cool to put it that way but if someone comes in your home and starts attacking who you are and how you're choosing to live your life you will strike back. I have to remember that in the land of QAF no one is suppose to ever give back as bluntly to Brian as he does to others.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your thoughts and for reviewing!!!

I think you have a good point -- communication / miscommunication is the biggest issue. Fortunately for them, they've been getting better at it thanks to -- well, the therapy I gues and the Talking Chair, which I think helps Brian tremendously.

I think every character's actions make sense, given their perspective. It's only a matter of understanding other people's perspective, which usually comes more with time than anything I think.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the story!

This was lovely! And I do enjoy how Brian keeps surprising the good doc with his openess regarding his sex life - lol :)

Good luck with the apratment showings :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! *laughs a little for poor Dr. Stevenson! No more hot beverages for him!*

Thanks -- they seem to be showing it a lot so that's good at least. :) And I'm only moving 4 floors up to a bigger place, so it looks like it'll be the easiest move ever! *hee hee, hates moving but found an easy way to do it!*

Just read this chapter... and like last night I do need a break just right now! But before I go I have to tell you something. But...

*sniffs*

I don't know if I'm able to do so! I want to tell - but it's like Brians own problems... You want to do something but it's so hard, so impossible... And your story reminds me of my own childhood, my teenage-time...

*cries*

And god-damned, thanks for Dr. Stevensons:

I deserve love!! Like Brian and every other person in the world too!

*goes + hide under my blanket*

Author's Response:

Awwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!

**hugs!**

**Cries!**

**passes Kleenex**

*loves!*

I loved the part with Doc spilling his coffee, sooo funny!

Brian and Jusin had a lot of breakthroughs in this chpater and a lot of tears. I like that at least some of the issues were finally resolved, it's best to try and move on from things that you can never change. I swear everytime Justin calls Brian 'Beautiful', I melt. Even when I soo should not be so focused on that, it's just so sweet, and I think Brian revels in that too. Excellent chapter, despite whatever delay there was in posting, I think sometimes with therapy a few issues do need to be shelved for a later time because larger issues need more attention sooner. Ohh I'm so excited for the next chapter. :)

Author's Response:

*giggles thinking of poor Dr. Stevenson in his stained suit*

Actually...I'm really excited that you like the "Beauitful" so much. It has a lot of significance to me and Brian, and possibly a good deal more later in the story, depending how things go. So... you're right in your focus in my book!

Dr. Stevenson has a hard time knowing where to start and where to go, since so many of the issues are tangled with each other... he tells me sometimes how complicated a patient Brian is... !  *smiles*

Thanks so much and enjoy the next chapter!!!

Fantastic as always....  This time it was Justin's turn for a break through... he finally learned the difference between Brian's "can't" and "won't"... and they both became aware of how ... misunderstandings, lack of communication and thoughtless words... could add up to something tragic... Dr. Stevenson also learned not to drink hot coffee... while Brian is talking about how Justin ... gets him to "Relax".. lol.... I think Brian will soon owe him a new wardrobe.......

Author's Response:

*grins* Maybe I'll have Dr. Stevenson send a dry-cleaning bill!!!!

You make a good point -- Justin did learn a lot here, and communication is really the key to the whole thing....

Thanks so much for your support! :)

Michael’s “he left because of you…who wouldn’t” comment always made me so ANGRY – it’s calculating and cruel. The look on Brian’s face when he said it is just desolate. And thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for incorporating the “shirt changing” scene in 507 – ‘cause that always broke my heart (and made me want to bitch slap Justin, but let’s not go there). So I think you’ve picked a perfect place for the third attempt. Reading this is like qaf therapy, very cathartic!

My anti-Justin / Michael sentiments aside, I like how Dr Stevenson is navigating them through the guilt and towards something better. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but…I’m actually kinda liking Justin now. The world has officially stopped turning. It’s never really made sense to me that Justin, at the age of 21 of 22 (?), was suddenly so desperate for domesticity / kids / marriage in season 5. But maybe he was looking to re-create what he remembered as his own parents’ happy marriage (before the divorce, about which he expressed guilt) in the same way that Brian was running from it because of his own experiences.

Add to canon all you want – ‘cause at this point WNWM is my dream story.

Author's Response:

Awww, thank you!!!

*dazed that you're starting to like Justin a little*

I find it so amazingly hard to even watch lots of Season 5. I get so upset... not really at Justin. I'm not really anti-Justin... I mean, I can sit at home and think "Oh my god, why didn't you... blah bah blah," or "I would have so...blah blah bah." And I do. But... I have to try to understand Justin even though it's harder for me than understanding Brian...

I was never quite sure if one specific event triggered Justin's longings for domesticity, but I have an interpretation in the next chapter.

Thank you *** so much *** ! :)

I love this fic so much. You take us from high angst to giggling humour, fabulous the shock Dr Stevenson's has every time Brian shares part of his sex life.

Author's Response:

Aw, what a great compliment! I'm delighted that my attempts at humor work. It's fun to imagine how people would react to the B/J dynamic, especially the B side of things... Poor Dr. Stevenson's getting an education! :)

Thank you so much for commenting and for loving the story! :)

I'm not good at long reviews, Sorry my english is not good enough. But this story is the first thing I read when the computer is on.

thanks thanks thanks for writing this story

I wanna hug both men, they need it.

* kisses *

Author's Response:

Oh, don't ever apologize! I would never even be able to try to read a fanfic in another language. I wouldn't even be brave enough to *try*. So don't apologize! Your comments are wonderful and warm and perfect so just keep them coming!

*kisses back!* :)

Holy fuck, that was close. It was so fucking lucky that Lindsay called right then.

I always hated that scene at Michael and Ben's house, that is a shitty thing to say to your best friend, from the both of them because Brian was definitely no saint in that one.

I'm glad Dr. Stevenson could get through to them, I just hope he can get them to see that they didn't do this to each other, that there were so many factors out of their control at the time that it was almost inevitable, but that they are in a different place now and therefore not likely to be in that situation again.

Great chapter as usual.

Author's Response:

*smiles*...

Dr. Stevenson... made the last chapter hard. He kept wanting me to add in all these things, but then...it seemed like sort of too much for one chapter. He keeps telling me he has too much work to do... *grin*

I'm glad that the phone call /third attempt isn't too out - of -place. I thought about all that was going on with Mel/Linds at that time and this occurred to me -- luckily for Brian...

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

What stood out to me most was your incorporating of the Brandon story line and how Justin completely overlooked what Brian was trying to tell him when he kept trying those shirts on. I'm not sure the episode but I'm sure you know the scene (since you wrote about it, haha).

Brian actually ADMITS the fact that he got turned down upset him, and Justin threw it to the wayside claiming it happens to "everyone" like you quoted, then Brian says something like, "One small gesture overlooked." I ALWAYS thought he was talking about the fact he relatively, by Brian Kinney standards, opened up to Justin, admitting the rejection and Justin just overlooked the attempt instead of the obvious Brandon not succumbing to his Kinney charm.

That always kind of bothered me even though I could understand Justin's frustration as well.

...Woo, sorry I got a little elaborate with that but I was really really stoked when you worked that into the chapter since that one scene of the show always stood out to me.

Another fantastic chapter! I love how things are developing.

Author's Response:

I don't think any scene in QAF angers me more that one......Justin is totally just... *sighs in frustration at Justin's imperfection*.

Thanks so much for the comment! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who was struck by the scene and this interpretation of it *poor Brian!...! :).
