WOW! As pissed as I am at Lindsay for what she did to Gus, I can understand how much she missed her son and how much Gus misses his mother. That is one brave smart little boy, really takes after his dad.

Author's Response:

This topic was not easy to write about. There are so many emotions going on with everyone we sometimes fail to see what is happening to the young victim. Gus decided to not be a victim but instead a survivor and forgiving his mother was the first major step. As he matures his emotions will change; this is normal for victims of child abuse. Coping is a lifetime event. Thanks Kat.

Not sure if I like this chapter.  I'm having a hard time coming to terms with Lindsay being anywhere near Gus??

Author's Response:

Next chapter Gus talks about why he decided to forgive his mother so easily. The visits are very supervised. Thanks Tiff for commenting.

JTS, the plot master. I didn't see this coming. What a twist this was. I could see the court room as it happened. On to next.

Author's Response:

The court results were within the realm of possible. Thanks for reviewing.

Wow, Mel gets really angry. But it is the choice of Gus and as Brian and Justin, she must respect it. If she doesn’t see her ex, it’s her choice. Gus is a young boy, very intelligent and very mature. Like sister, I think a right of access is a good way to reconnect smoothly. And Brian will be there to supervise. He keeps the authority... So if Linds screws up again, he’ll have the last word ! She won’t be a second chance...

Very good chapter

Author's Response:

Since Lindsay is prone to fixate on Brian; he won't be supervising; Jusin will do it with a goon present too. Yes, Lindsay has no rights to visitation except what Brian allows her so she better not mess it up. This is all for what's best for Gus; when it stops to help him; she's history. Thanks Gex.

When, in a previous comment (112), I talked about finding another solution with Brian, I thought this kind of access. As a mom, I know I wouldn’t harm my children but, if one day, I can’t see them, maybe I will react like Linds. So, for me, it's after all a good decision. And it’s the wish of Gus. He’s a very strong kid and very clever. In addition, Brian and Justin will supervise these visits, Linds will never be alone with her son ...

Excellent chapter. Of course I love the direction of this story and it's roses that I send you

Big Love

Author's Response:

Forgive me: I missed answering this review earlier. Yes you did have the foresight to see a need for Lindsay trying another way to solve her problem. In a later chapter Gus talks about how he forgave his mother so easily. Thanks for the rose.

Big love back!

Hey JT.  Thanks for your in-depth reply to my comment.  Actually, the part of Linds' original crime that I focus on more is her physical abuse of Gus, more than the sexual.  As he said, that's what he remembers more and so did I.

I'm glad J will be the one to accompany Gus on his visits with Linds.  I don't think she ever knew what a pitt bull he could be when provoked.  She's in for a surprise if she puts her foot wrong. *g*

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response:

Lindsay was very drunk when she physically harmed Gus. He still has many more good memories of his mother than bad ones. For Gus to overcome the abuse it's important not to escalate the situation 5 years after the fact. He wants to forgive his mother and it will have a very positive effect on Gus's emotions. In the next chapter he laughs like he hasn't laughed in years. The shadow of Lindsay no longer hides in the back of everyone's mind. He has a very interesting theory on Mel's reaction. Lindsay learned in therapy how much she hurt her son and how much damage she could have caused. Adults have one preception of the situation; the victim child has another; and one must always look what is best for the child. At nearly 12 he knows his feelings and he needs to forgive his mother. Gus is an amazing kid as time will show. Thank you for such a detailed thoughtful comment.

I liked the introduction of Danni to the family.

Well, I am very surprised...if Gus felt this way about Linds, why didn't he say anything to his dads before now?

As he hasn't spoken with her since he was 5, he doesn't know that she wouldn't hurt him again.  And for Gus to just rush into her arms without a clearing of the air between the two of them first, didn't ring true for me.

This situation struck me as too easy for Linds.  She's getting everything she wants, even though she violated the conditions of her release.  Not only isn't she receiving any punishment for this, all is forgiven and she gets to see Gus and B again.  So what's the lesson in it for her? My gut still tells me that Linds will try to manipulate the situation, it's in her nature.  I also think Mel knows this (after all, she lived with the woman for years, who would know better?).

Curious where the story goes next...

Author's Response:

Your insight is outstanding. Children can be very forgiving of a parents mistakes. The subject was taboo to talk about until Justin brought it up and they asked Gus for his opinion and he told them. You'll see only Justin taking Gus for visits. Brian already thought of what you did; Justin sees it too. What is happening is what may be in Gus's best interest to not sustain long lasting damage. Things with Gus get more relaxed next chapter. An hour or two every week or two isn't giving her much to run with but it does give Gus room to filter his feelings and overcome his memories. Would it surprise you to know sexual abuse counselors and courts do reunite families of incest and they have the very lowest rates of repeat offenses after treatment? I've done my research and kept an objective view of this explosive subject. Thank you and I commend your depth of vision into the story.

great chapter. Brian will definatley keep Linds reined in.

Author's Response:

You can count on Brian and Justin keeping a close eye on Lindsay. This is all about how best for Gus not to be hurt by the prior abuse. Thanks for understanding Gus's wishes with such a sensitive emotional issue of conditions. Thanks for commenting too alys.

Don't get me wrong Mr Hamster. I do still LOVE YOU!!

This is show how genius you are, when you can make reader feel just by the way you wrriting the plot twisting. It is make the story alive, intresting, dynamic... everything.

You write the story that make believe. Not everyting is wonderful, it is fantasy. I like your style that balance the fantasy & reality in your story.

Wonderful, brilliant & excellent job you both doing so far with the story, and I can't thank you both of you enough.

A long & hard kiss & hug for you Mr Hamster (never forget I love you, always).

A tender kiss for my fav author, JT.

Author's Response:

I don't know who's blushing more; me or my rodent. Thank you!

Well... well..... well. I am not really sure about this. Half of me hate what is going on, but half of me understand the need for Gus to do this.

Oh... Mr Hamster, very, very clever you are.

Anyway can't wait what will going on with the visiting right between Gus & Linds.

I hate it but I love it.

Muah!! Muah!! Muah!!

Author's Response:

Mr. Hamster and I put on our aluminum foil helmets getting ready for the psychic mental attacks from readers sending us negative vibrations for this turn of events. My helmet is quadrupled layered. So far our defenses are holding up nicely. Gus will not be alone with Lindsay for quite some time. Brian or Justin will always be in the room. That's all she gets and it'll be enough for her and Gus. Love you and thank you for not sending mental torpedos at us this time.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with the decision of the court ... Lindsey gets along well? Oh JT...

Author's Response:

Hey! I didn't like it either but this is what Gus wanted. He could have said hang her high but instead he wanted to see his mother. Her visits with him will be directly surpervised always until he's much older. Thanks for commenting.
