Justin still couldn’t believe he’d be actually celebrating Christmas this year for himself, not just as an obligation he felt to his sister who, to be fair, was really the only reason he actually acknowledged the holiday existed. After spending almost two and a half hours persuading Brian to go out with Michael (who he’d told all about the secret party) he’d called Emmett the party planner as soon as the car pulled away. So here they were, dressed in elf gear, tights and all, tacking flashing fairy lights around the roof of the loft and twisted about the beams which held said roof up. An elegantly decorated tree (that itself almost reached the top of the windows) was erected where Brian’s desk had once sat. Justin had taken the liberty, not to mention the pleasure, of rearranging his anal lovers living space, a move he was hoping to be punished for later. Emmett was keeping a close eye on Justin as he tacked up the mistletoe, not for fear he messed up, no, he was there only to make sure if the blond fell off the ladder, he would be caught. The last thing he wanted to do was have to be the one to tell King Asshole his Sunshine went splat after tumbling 12 feet from the top of a ladder he shouldn’t have been up in the first place. And it was up this ladder that Linds and Mel found him when they arrived almost ten minutes later. “Justin? What on earth!?” She trailed off as she saw the beautiful twinkling gold and silver fairy lights which adorned the loft ceiling. Lindsay’s brown eyes were wide as she took in the decorations. The tree, the tinsel draped along the bar area, around the bedrooms glass panels, “My God Justin…it’s beautiful!” The elf atop the ladder beamed down at the two amazed munchers, “Well Em wanted something a little more in your face but as I casually pointed out, I’m the one who has to live with Brian, not him” In one graceful move, which made Gus giggle from his perch in Mel’s arms, Justin had leapt from the top of the ladder and into Emmett’s waiting arms. Like dancers, they spun about before the taller man deposited the teenager down just in time for Gus to kamikaze leap into the blond’s open arms. The two woman were dressed in female Santa outfits, their red skirts edged with white faux fur. Mel’s top stopped just above her navel whereas Lindsay’s ended where her skirt began, a belt of tinsel round her waist. What caused Justin to awe was Gus’ reindeer costume, red nose and all. Next to arrive in Em and Jus’ winter wonderland were Ted, Debbie and Vic. Vic had adorned a costume that resembled Santa only not fat, Debbie looked like a Christmas tree she was so brightly decorated and Ted reminded Justin of a Christmas pudding, holly atop his head, just for effect. Debbie was in charge of the food so while she and Vic loaded Brian’s cooker with food, Lindsay fiddled with the CD player. Then the loft door opened, causing everyone to spin round in anticipation as Michael, now dressed as an angel, entered with Brian who was blindfolded, a “Hey, is that my shirt!?” came loudly from Justin from his spot by the tree, Gus still clinging to his neck with his little brown furry arms. Brian took in the scene, an unreadable look on his face as he glanced from friend to friend, watching them dancing, conversing or hugging. Then his attention turned to his two boys by the tree. A soft smile crossed his face as he walked over, slinging the shirt in the general direction of the bedroom before kissing his sonny boy and his sunshine. “Happy Christmas Bri” the blond boy whispered just before Gus quietly said, “’Py Cistmas dada”. Brian nuzzled Justin’s hair, ignoring the fact all his friends were watching the rather domestic scene in front of them. “Merry Christmas Sunshine…Sonny Boy”
