It was a night like all the others for Brian Kinney, stud of Liberty Avenue. He’d been to Babylon, found a trick and took him back to the loft to fuck his brains out. He was about to come when he was rudely interrupted by a knock on the door. “Whoever is on the other side of the door, you have to know that your death wish just came true,” Brian said angrily, as he went to open the door. He opened the door to reveal who he had often defined as the President of his fan club; Justin Taylor. “What the fuck are you doing here?” Brian said, his hard on still evident from being unable to complete what he started out to do, which was to fuck his trick’s brains out . “I just wanted to see you,” Justin said innocently, not letting himself be afraid of Brian’s harsh tone. “Now that you saw me why don’t you think about going to bed?” “With pleasure,” Justin said walking towards Brian’s bedroom. “I meant your bed; not mine. You go home to your bed and sleep. Jerk off thinking about me; I don’t care. I’ll go to my bed and finish fucking the brains out of Mr. Good Fuck, here”. Mr. Good Fuck came out of the bedroom, headed towards the kitchen and caught the two lovers having a conversation of sorts. “What’s going on?” he asked. He curiously looked over at Justin and questioned, “Who is he?” “Mr. Good Fuck meet Justin… Justin meet Mr. Good Fuck.” Brian made the introductions just like that night, many months ago, when he explained to Justin he didn’t do boyfriends. “Yeah, now you’re going to tell me your name is George, right?” Justin said sardonically. “Wow, Justin I’m surprised. You still remember the trick’s name. You have a very good memory”. “Obviously, better than yours when the topic of the conversation is your tricks. You couldn’t even remember my name.” “You got it,” Brian said, proud of himself. “Anyway my name is not George, it’s Paul,” the trick said feeling left out. Even if Brian and Justin didn’t give a fuck about his name. “Look, this twink here killed my mood so you can go now ‘cause there won’t be any fucking for me and you tonight”. “Fuck you,” the trick said as he got dressed and slammed the door as he left. “Are you happy now?” Brian said raising his arms in defeat. “Yeah, very much,” Justin said, giving Brian his best sunshine smile. “So come on, let’s fuck.” “Brian, I’m not your whore,” Justin screamed. “Even if I love having sex with you, that’s not the reason why I’m here” “So why you’re here?” Brian asked losing what little patience he possessed. “I just wanted to be with you.” Looking up and seeing the anger in Brian’s eyes he added, “You mean so much to me and you’ll be leaving me soon and I can’t face it” Actually, Brian wasn’t going to leave anyone because the deal with the job in New York was off, but right now he wasn’t going to tell Justin that. “Well, then you have to face it.” “How can you be so cruel?” Justin said as tears filled his eyes. “I’m not being cruel, I’m just being realistic.” It was always the same with the two men. Justin asking Brian to give him more and Brian letting Justin down. The argument always turned into a fight and the fight ended with Justin in tears and an indescribable look by Brian. It was always like this and it would be like this tonight too, if the lovers weren’t interrupted by their friends; Michael, Debbie, and Emmett. “Are you here for a pajama party?” Brian said sardonically and visibly irritated by the umpteenth invasion. He couldn’t believe how his friends thought that the loft was Grand Central Station and that they could show up any fucking time they wanted. “You wouldn’t think you’re so funny after I tell you what happened,” Deb said slapping Brian upside the head as she always did when she told him off. “What happened, Deb?” Justin asked, worried. “Ted,” she murmured not being able to speak. “Ted is… Ted is… Ted is DEAD,” she blurted as she burst into tears, soon followed by Michael and Emmett whose eyes were already red from the crying since he set foot into Brian’s loft. “I went to his apartment several hours ago to take a movie that he wanted to borrow. When I arrived I was surprised to see that the door was opened. I went in and… oh my God… I found him,” Michael said, hysterically sobbing as he went to Brian for a hug. Brian was in shock. He didn’t know what to say. He and Ted weren’t very close, of course, but he couldn’t deny that the thought of Ted’s death made him very sad. However, he was the only one who could think straight and be rational in a moment like this. “What did the police say?” Brian asked. “That’s typical of you,” Deb said furiously. “One of your best friends has just been found dead and you all you can think about is what the police said.” “She said the bodies were gutted,” Emmett said, speaking for the first time. “The bodies?” Brian asked frowning. “Blake is dead too,” Deb added. People who went to the diner wouldn’t have been able to recognize her at that moment. She was pale and her usual smiling face was now wracked with pain. “Yeah, but we’re more concerned about Ted’s death than the junkie whore,” Michael said coldly. “Michael, be careful what you’re saying. Even if Blake was a junkie he was still a human being. Don’t forget he saved Vic and that he was the love of Ted’s life. I don’t think Ted would have been happy knowing that one of his best friends didn’t give a fuck about Blake’s death,” Deb screamed at Michael as she slapped him the same way she did Brian. “Yeah Mikey, Deb’s right,” Emmett sobbed. “Even if we never liked Blake we have to do it for poor Teddy.” “I’m sorry,” Michael apologized. “It’s the pain of Ted’s death that’s making me say things like that.” “When Michael phoned me I was watching (‘)Desperate Housewives(’).” Deb said. “It was the episode when Susan said to Edie she was responsible for the fire in her house… I was relaxing… when… I’ve received the news,” Deb finished and brust into tears again. “You know Deb, I’ve watched it too,” Justin said smiling, trying to comfort her but then frowned. “But it can’t be, I was there too and the phone didn’t even ring” Everybody looked at Justin. “Maybe she confused herself! You know Jus it’s been a difficult night!” Michael said, immediately on the defensive. Justin looked guilty and was surprised when Brian came to his defense, “Hey, there’s no need to snap at him you fuckrug.” Immediately, Justin saw Michael’s reaction toward Brian. Having the two best friends against each other was the last thing he wanted, “It’s okay Brian, really. Deb, I’m sorry I doubted you.” “I’m sorry too, Justin… again,” Michael said. “How do you… gut someone?” Emmett asked sadly. “I don’t know Em but there’s something that really scares me,.” Michael said. “What?” the others asked in unison. “Until the police catch the killer we’re all in danger.”
