February 2, 2004 7 a.m. Wednesday The Loft Well here it is another day that involves both work and school. I’m standing here at the kitchen counter waiting for the coffee to finish making. I was actually up before Justin this morning and I’m about to go wake him up so that he won’t be late for class. “Justin baby its time to wake up.” Brian said as he gently tapped Justin on his shoulder. “Mmmm….5 more minutes please Brian.” Justin said without opening his eyes. “Nope you can’t have 5 more minutes because then that would make you late for class.” Brian said “Why is it that my class always has to start at 8 instead of 9?” Justin said as he finally sat up in bed. “Colleges are like that and there’s nothing we can do.” Brian said “Is the coffee ready yet?” Justin said as he got out of bed. “It’s almost ready and by the time you get out of the bathroom then it will be ready.” Brian said as he started walking back to the kitchen. A few minutes later Justin is walking towards the kitchen with his hair looking like he’d just got out of bed. “Here you go your 1st cup of morning coffee.” Brian said as he handed Justin a cup “Thanks.” Justin said as he took a sip. “You need to come by the office after your last class today so that you can sign the papers that are needed in order to finalize your internship.” Brian said as he took a drink of his coffee. “Sure no problem. We also need to sit down a pick a date for our wedding so that we can start planning.” Justin said “Yeah I know but we can do that when we get home tonight.” Brian said. “How about I come by for lunch and then I can sign the papers and we can go over possible dates for the wedding?” Justin asked “Sure I’ll have Cynthia order us something from our favorite Thai restaurant.” Brian said “Well I’m ready to get out of here if you are.” Justin said as he grabbed his things “Alright then lets get this show on the road.” Brian said as he reached for is brief case Brian dropped Justin off at PIFA before he headed to the office to get some work done before lunch. As Justin was walking towards his next class he heard his phone ringing and so he stops outside of his 1st class to see who is calling. “Hello!” Justin answered “Hi Sweetheart!” Jennifer said “Oh Hi mom!” Justin said “Honey I was calling to find out when your lunch break was.” Jennifer said “Well I have an hour for lunch at noon. Why do you ask?” Justin asked “I thought that maybe we could have lunch together today.” Jennifer said “Sure! Where do you want to go?” Justin asked as he looked at his watch to see what time it was. “How about we go to the country club?” Jennifer asked “That sounds good. So I’ll see you around noon?” Justin asked “That sounds great honey and I’ll come by to pick you up.” Jennifer said “Ok see you then. Sorry mom but I’ve got to get into class.” Justin said “Alright sweetheart I’ll see you later. Bye!” Jennifer said “Bye mom!” Justin said Mean while back at Vanguard……. “Brian there’s a call on line 2.” Cynthia said over the intercom “Who is it Cynthia?” Brian asked “It’s Mr. Brown from Brown Athletics and he say’s that it’s important.” Cynthia said “Thank you Cynthia. Hello Mr. Brown…what can I do for you?” Brian asked “Brian I would like to go in another direction with the ad campaign.” Mr. Brown said as he talked with Brian. “Your kidding right? Because, you said at the last meeting that you were happy with the new one.” Brian said as he got a note pad ready “I’m not kidding and I need a new idea by Friday.” Mr. Brown said “That’s a little short notice Mr. Brown.” Brian said “I realize this Brian but I also know that you’re the best ad man out there so I trust your judgment.” Mr. Brown said “Alright I’ll try to have a few idea’s ready for you on Friday at lets say noon.” Brian said “That sounds fine Brian and thanks.” Mr. Brown said as he wrote down the information “No problem Mr. Brown.” Brian said as he wrote down all the information. After Brian had hung up with Mr. Brown he decided to call Justin to see if he would mind helping him come up with some new ideas. “Hey babe!” Brian said as Justin answered his phone “Hey Bri!” Justin said “I was wondering could you help me come up with some idea’s for Brown Athletics tonight?” Brian asked as he was hoping that Justin would say yes. “Sure I’ll help you but I thought Mr. Brown liked the current ad.” Justin said as he was walking towards the front of the school to meet his mom “I thought so too but he called me just a few minutes ago asking for a fresh ad.” Brian said as he leaned back in his chair. “Ok I’ll see what I can think of but 1st we will sit down and pick a date for the wedding.” Justin said, as he knew that he caught Brian off guard. “Alright you win. So what are you doing for lunch?” Brian asked “I’m having lunch with mom at the country club.” Justin said as he saw his mom pull up. “Sounds like a good plan.” Brian said “Hey Bri I’ve got to go mom just got here but I’ll see you later at home.” Justin said “Alright Justin I’ll see you at home and tell mom hi for me.” Brian said “I will…love you, bye.” Justin said “Love you too, bye.” Brian said “Hi mom!” Justin said as he got into the car. “Hi sweetheart!” Jennifer said as she waited for Justin to put his seatbelt on. “I’m sorry that you had to wait for a minute but I was talking to Brian.” Justin said “That’s alright Justin. How is Brian?” Jennifer asked “Well he’s a little upset right now because Mr. Brown from the Brown Athletics has asked Brian to redo their latest campaign and he’s only got a week to get this done.” Justin said while leaving out that he was going to help Brian. “Well I’m sure everything will turn out alright.” Jennifer said trying to keep a positive outlook on the whole situation. “Your right mom everything will be alright.” Justin said while showing off his sunshine smile. They arrived at the country club 10 minutes later and lucky for them Jennifer had made reservations or they would never have gotten in. They were taken right to their table and given menus. Jennifer orders a glass of white wine and Justin orders a coke. A few minutes later their drinks arrive and their ready to order. “What can I get you this afternoon?” The waiter asked “I would like the B.L.T. sandwich please.” Justin said as he handed the waiter his menu. “And what would you like Ms.?” The waiter asked “I would like the garden salad with Italian dressing on the side please.” Jennifer said as she too handed her menu to the waiter. “Of course and your salad will be right out.” The waiter said “Thank you.” Jennifer said “How is dad doing?” Justin asked as he took a drink of his coke. “He’s doing fine and right now he hasn’t been talking to your Uncle George.” Jennifer said “Mom I’m sorry that I caused problems over New Years.” Justin said as he tried to apologies “Honey you have nothing to be sorry for.” Jennifer said as she reached over to grab her son’s hand “I realize that mom but I can’t help but feel responsible for all of this.” Justin said They ate their meals in silence but it was a comfortable silence that they could handle. “So have you and Brian set a date for the wedding?” Jennifer asked as she got out her credit card “We’re going to talk about it tonight after he gets home from work.” Justin said “Well be sure to let us know when it is because there is a lot of planning that goes with a wedding.” Jennifer said as she handed over her card to the waiter. “You and dad will be the 1st people that know when the wedding is.” Justin said Jennifer smiled as she realized that her little boy has grown up into a very handsome man and he’s got a partner who loves him dearly. Both Jennifer and Justin got up from their seats to leave to go back to the college so that Justin could get to his afternoon class. “Thanks for lunch mom.” Justin said as he got out of the car. “Your welcome sweetheart.” Jennifer said as she waved to her son. A few hours later both Brian and Justin meet up at home after a long day at school and at the office. They decide to order Tai for dinner and while they wait for it to be delivered they both decide that they need a hot shower. 30 minutes later….Food arrives There was a knock at the loft door that let the boys know that their food had arrived. Brian went to answer the door and to pay the delivery guy. They took their food and sat at the dining room table so that they could talk about the important things. “We need to pick a date for our wedding.” Justin said “Well do you want a Spring or Summer wedding?” Brian asked “I think that Spring would be really wonderful because everything is just starting to bloom out.” Justin said “Your right and it’s also a time for new beginnings.” Brian said “Lets have the wedding sometime in mid to late May because then Molly will be out of school for the summer.” Justin said “Ok well how about the 21st of May? Would that work?” Brian asked “Let me get the calendar real quick.” Justin said as he got up to retrieve their calendar. “If I remember correctly its falls on a Saturday.” Brian said while he was waiting for Justin to return. “I found it and your right it is on a Saturday.” Justin said as he sat back down next to Brian. “So is there any other date that you would prefer?” Brian asked “No there isn’t because this date is perfect.” Justin said “Alright now that we have picked a date we need to tell everyone.” Brian said “Yeah we do but we have to tell mom 1st or we can tell them all together at Brunch or at the diner.” Justin said “Let arrange to have everyone meet at the diner for lunch tomorrow.” Brian said “Ok I’ll go call my mom while you call everyone else.” Justin said as he got up to get his cell phone. They each called all of their family members to let them know to meet them at the diner tomorrow at noon. February 3rd The Diner noon. Everyone arrived on time for the little gathering even though knew why. The only one’s left to show up were Brian and Justin. “Here they come mom.” Molly said as he tapped her mom’s arm. “Well it’s so nice for you two to join us.” Debbie said while smiling at them. “So why are we all here?” Michael asked “Yeah Jus why are we here?” Molly asked while using her nickname for her brother “Well we wanted to let you all know together that we have finally set the wedding date.” Brian said as he wrapped his arm around Justin. “Well are you going to make us guess or are you going to tell us?” Emmett asked “We have set our wedding date for May 21st of this year.” Justin said “Oh sweetheart that’s a perfect day and I can’t wait to tell your dad.” Jennifer said while she got up to hug her son and soon to be son in-law. “Molly we would like to ask you if you would like to be our flower girl.” Justin said “Really you want me to be apart of the wedding?” Molly asked “Sure we do you’re my little sister and I wouldn’t have anyone else.” Justin said as he gave his sister a hug. “Uh guys where are Mel and Lindsey I told them to meet us here but I don’t see them.” Brian said as he realized that they weren’t there. “They called me and said that they couldn’t make it due to not being able to get away from work.” Debbie said “Well I can understand that but one of you guys get the pleasure of telling them when the wedding is going to be.” Brian said “Alright smarty I’ll tell them.” Debbie said as she threw a dishtowel at Brian. “Well now we need to start planning for the wedding.” Jennifer said
