time flies when you’re having fun

“Shit!” Justin curses as the glass falls onto the floor, shattering into at least a dozen pieces. Brian picks up the small hand brush and dustpan from the bottom cabinet and squats down to start cleaning the glass. “I can do that, Brian,” Justin replies with a sigh, squatting down to join his husband on the floor. “No,” Brian states, “I can do it.” “Brian, I broke it, let me clean it up,” He demands tersely. Looking up, Brian meets Justin’s clear blue eyes. Sighing, he finally speaks, “Justin, this is the third glass you’ve broken this week. Take a break and let me get this, okay?” Rolling his eyes, Justin gets up with a huff and goes over to the sofa, flopping down dramatically. “My nerves are shot, Bri, I can’t fuckin’ help it that I’m breaking our glasses.” “Don’t forget two of our plates… and our salad bowl last night,” Brian continues, smiling to lighten the mood. “Shut up,” Justin argues, trying not to smile back. “I’m just…” Emptying the dustpan, Brian nods his head, “I know.” Sighing, Justin rubs his face in his hands, “We’re leaving in two days.” Double-checking the floor for shards of glass, Brian glances over at his husband. “Carl is going to have someone meet us as soon as we exit the jet.” “Don’t pretend you aren’t nervous.” “Justin,” Brian begins as we walks over to the couch. “Trust me: I’m fuckin’ petrified. Does that make you feel any better?” “Actually, it does.” “Great,” Brian retorts. Sitting down next to him, he sighs. Eyes closed, Justin snuggles against Brian, “Do you think Professor West will show up?” “Absolutely.” “And if he doesn’t?” “Then we keep going as planned without him.” Brian replies, hoping that Daniel didn’t suddenly decide to have a conscious and not show up at Hirshhorn. Kissing his husband’s head, he asks, “Are you still up for this?” Chuckling, Justin replies, “Piece of cake.” “Hey,” Brian teases, “Should I be concerned?” Laughing, Justin looks up and kisses his lover’s lips, “Never.” Wrapping his arms tightly around his husband, Brian hopes that they are doing the right thing. The last thing he wants to do is lead Justin into someone else’s trap.
