At Café Sixties, Al sipped his coffee. He needed to stay alert for the flight home. Looking around, he notices that the most of the staff are chatting amongst themselves while occasionally pointing in his direction. Frowning, Al returns to his coffee. This is too weird. “Excusez-moi,” one the servers interrupts as she walks over to his table. Al remembers her from the other day when he stopped here with Molly and Justin once they had landed here. “Oui?” Al asks, setting down his coffee. “You were here the other day with those two American children, yes?” She asks. He slowly nods, “Yeah…” She smiles, “The little one: she reminded me of my niece that is why I remembered.” “Uh-huh,” Al nods, thinking that this conversation was a little more than strange. “Two men are looking for them.” “What?!” Al asks in surprise. How was this possible? She nods, “They were American as well. Very suspicious.” “What did they say?” Al asks, his heart beating a mile a minute. She waves her hands in dismissal, “Not much. Each wanted to know if we had seen them. Of course we said ‘No.’ That is none of our business. My husband suggested that they contact the police.” “And what did they say to him?” “The first one snuffed it off and the second one just made a rude sound and left.” Al leans back, “Holy shit.” She nods in agreement. “Are those children in trouble?” Al didn’t really want to talk about it, but something about this older woman made him feel like it was okay. With a sigh he explains, “Their parents… they were murdered. I brought them here to live with a relative.” She gasps, covering her mouth with her hand as she shakes her head, “Those poor children! And now those men are looking for them?” Frowning, Al picks up his phone, “Not if I can help it.” After the second ring, Justin picks up, “Hello?” “Justin, it’s Al. Two men are looking for you and Molly.” “What?!” “I’m at the café we were at when we landed here. I’ve just been informed that two Americans were asking about you guys.” “Oh fuck.” “Exactly. Tell your uncle. He can probably hide you guys somewhere safe.” “Okay,” Justin says, his voice wavering. “You’re going to be okay, Justin. Both you and Molly are going to be fine. Just go tell Richard.” “Okay, I’ll go tell him now. Thanks, Al.” “I’ll see you guys in a couple of months,” Al promises before hanging up. ******** Brian quickens his pace. Someone was following him. He didn’t know who it was and for how long, but now he felt it. Someone was behind him and trying to keep up. Shit! Turning a corner, Brian holds his breath and waits. He can hear the footsteps nearing. 1, 2… on three, Brian jumps out from behind the corner wall to face his follower. Brian gasps in surprise, “Holy shit!”
