There once was a girl named Elizabeth McGruw, She had so many problems she didn’t know what to do. Her life was a mess, there were problems galore. She just didn’t want to deal with it anymore. Her family was distant, her friends were never there. She always was lonely but never really cared. Her sister was quite awful, she was ever so. Screaming and yelling, oh the tantrums she'd throw. She'd leave poor Elizabeth both black and blue, But she convinced herself one day she'd find someone new. Someone to torture both day and night, To give someone else a dreadful fright, However there was no one as horrible as her mom, She asked God every night now he had made someone so dumb. She screamed at Elizabeth almost everyday, Ranting how she wished she had given her away. How she was just useless and always a bother, And how she never really wanted her, They always fought until they were red in the face, But Elizabeth was always left feeling like she was a disgrace. They fought in the supermarket, the library, the car, She only knew that she could be pushed so far. That night she knew she'd have to end it all, This was an act she knew she would befall. With one hand in her hair, Elizabeth pushed her mother down the stairs. She fell down each step with a loud "THUD", When she was at the bottom she pushed her out into the mud. Something inside Elizabeth had snapped, A new destiny had been mapped. With the kitchen knife in the other hand she began to stab, Her spirits rising with every jab, The sight of blood made her feel almost high, When her mother's movement stopped she let out an enormous sigh. The wicked women would yell no more, There would be silence that she could now adore. Against the pale horizon the sun was beginning to rise, The light of the moon was beginning to die. If she could only get rid of her sister then all would be fine, Her instinct now like a vicious canine, All rational thought had been instantly lost, There was a line she knew she had crossed. She had killed, which in society is wrong, But the desire to do more was as sweet as a siren's song. Suddenly she was stopped by an enormous force, No, it was not an instant splash of remorse. She was being taken away by men dressed in white, Elizabeth struggled and started to bite. It was far too late, her mind was now gone, She gave up and was embraced by the increasing light of dawn. She had ended her torment to only add more, Her heart began to ache like a giant sore. People were staring as they took her away, Where would she go and where would she stay? Locked up with the loonies is where she remains, For the rest of her days that is where she will be retained. Elizabeth, you could have had it all, If you hadn’t taken that enormous fall, Fall from your grace and fallen into hell, Where all your darkest fantasies had began to dwell. If you would have only been able to look on, Life for you would have continued on. Elizabeth, you ruined your family's life. You caused now only more pain in your strife. Now your life is over, you have no where to go, With your attempts to make things better you only caused more woe. Hold your head in disgrace, young Elizabeth, All you have now is to wait for your death.
