I knock on the door of Craig’s home and when the door opens I am awestruck by the pair of blue eyes that assaulted and captivated me earlier. I can’t believe this is Craig’s son. He smiles slightly but the minute Craig comes close to him, I see something; I’m not sure what, but there is something tense. Craig: “Brian, come in.” He pushes aside Justin. Brian walks into the neatly decorated house, not a dust or something out of place. Craig: “This is Justin my son and Molly is there on the couch.” He walks into the family room and sees a blonde girl who can’ be more than 13 with red highlighting her locks. Brian: “Nice to meet you Molly.” Molly: “You too Mr. Kinney.” Brian met the family and was still amazed with how beautiful Justin was but of course he couldn’t feel this way, not now. Dinner was filled with Craig monopolizing the conversation, I felt like I was in some bizarre universe, the kids never spoke unless they were spoken too. Around 9, I decided it was time to leave. I couldn’t stand being in the same room as Justin, which was hard. He looked like he was not there; his eyes didn’t sparkle like they did earlier. Brian slowly made his way back to his house, deeply confused and exhausted. Even though he did rest that afternoon, with the remembering of Claire and dinner at Pastor Craig’s house, he was ready to crash. Of course, the fact that his mother and father would be there in a few days to see his first sermon. Justin’s POV Who knew the neighbor would be my father’s student pastor ; of course nothing would change that. My father is a man that if he feels he losing control of something, which I am, a thing, not a person, a thing, he will get rid of the thing so no one else could have it. I know it’s strange the fact that I know I’m gay and my father doing what he does to me, but I plan on never acting. How can I? Tonight, hopefully, will be quiet, nothing happening. Sometimes he leaves Molly and me alone; but sometimes, when we have company it is so much worse. As Justin slowly closes his eyes he hears the door creak open, he knows he isn’t lucky, he pulls up the walls… So much for resting in peace… Craig: “He was nice and of course Justin, you couldn’t be polite for once in your pathetic little life!” Craig yelled as he pulled Justin out of his bed and threw him against the bare wall. Craig: “No, you had to be rude and embraced me like usual.” With that statement he kicks him in the stomach twice. Of course Justin, doesn’t move, doesn’t make a sound, tries to hold back the cries, he knows a sound will only make it worse; hopefully it’s just a beating. The last thing he remembers is Craig ripping his pants down as he slams his head into the wall…then everything is dark. Darkness fills his mind and life once again. Brian He closes his eyes while he hopes and prays he won’t be visited by what his Uncle did to his sister and him. What he made her kill herself over.
