Ben shut the door to his room after he and Michael had entered inside. "Have a seat," he said. Michael sat down on a chair, and Ben asked, "Want anything to drink?"
"Water."
Ben retrieved a bottle of water out of the room's small refrigerator. He was trying to be civil to Michael. He still loved him, but he didn't know what he was going to do about their relationship. He sighed as he handed Michael the water, than sat down on the bed.
After a moment of silence, Michael started talking. "Ben, we can fix this, right?"
"That depends. I do still love you, but I need to know that you're not going to still be pining over Brian. I need to know that I'm going to be number one to you."
Michael nodded. "I love you, too." Then his eyes darkened in anger as he added, "Besides Brian has Boy Wonder. I still don't know what he sees in him. The twink's damaged for Godsakes! Brian deserves someone so much better. Someone like--"
Ben was getting more angry and hurt with each word out of Michael's mouth. "Someone like?" When Michale remained silent, Ben continued. "You, maybe? Come one, Michael, is that what you were going to say?"
"Yes, okay?! Someone like me. But, what he sees in that kid is--"
"Get out," Ben quietly interrupted Michael.
"What?"
Ben stood up, looking down at Michael. "I said get out." Michael just sat in the chair, looking at Ben in a mixture of surprise and hurt. Ben walked over to him, gripped him by the arm, and yanked him to his feet. "Get the hell out! Now, Michael!"
After a slight hesitation, Michael walked to the room door. After opening it, he turned back around to face Ben. "Why are you doing this to me? To us?," he asked in a slight whine.
"I didn't. You did. You ruined this relationship. It's over. And, by the way, you should check into seeing someone about the obsession you have with Brian."
Michael narrowed his eyes in anger and left the room, slamming the door behind him.
Ben sat back down on the bed, sighing and holding his head in his hands. That had been hard, but he knew that it had to be done. His relationship with Michael was over. And, Ben knew that they would never be back together. He couldn't go through all of this again. Flipping off the light, he laid down, feeling tears welling up in his eyes. 'I did the right thing,' he thought even as his heart was breaking in two.
Michael had went to the apartment that he and Ben shared. 'Or, used to share,' he thought as he walked inside. He was hurt that Ben had thrown him out of his hotel room. He couldn't believe that Ben was throwing away their relationship. Ben just didn't understand what he felt for Brian. He knew Brian, better than Brian knew himself. Justin would never have the same connection with Brian that he had. He was Brian's best friend, after all!
Michael sat down on the couch, thinking. 'There has to be a way to make Brian see reason,' he thought to himself. Michael would be doing Brian a favor by getting rid of Justin. Brian would thank him for it. Even though he loved Ben, it was only to a certain extinct. He knew deep in his heart that Brian and him were meant to be together. Not Brian and Justin.
Michael sighed. 'Nobody understands,' he silently said as he thought about how everyone was mad at him. He knew what he was going to do. First he needed to get some sleep. Then, first thing in the morning he was going to track down Justin's parents. 'Shouldn't be too hard,' he thought. Good, he had a plan. As he walked to the bedroom, he couldn't help the smile that spread across his face.
If everything worked out, Justin would eventually be gone and he would assume his rightful place as Brian Kinney's life partner.
