Author's Note:I'll have an update of Too Damn Young up by in the morning. In this story Ben is thirty. Also, Brian's parents weren't abusive. They were both loving and kind, so Brian isn't against love. Brian's sister doesn't exist in this story, he was an only child.
"So, what are you planning on doing after school?" Ben asked Hunter. James Hunter Montgomerey was a sixteen year old that Ben and Michael had taken in. After helping him get out of the husteling buisness, they had gotten him enrolled in the local highschool. So far he seemed to be flourishing.
Hunter shrugged. "Nothin' much. I'm gonna go down to the warehouse district and visit some old friends."
"Would these be thesame friends that you were hustelin' with?" Michael questioned.
"Yeah. I promised them that I'd visit sometimes. Besides, there's this one boy that started about three months before I quit. We became pretty good friends. But I haven't talked to him since I quit, and I want to make sure that he's okay."
"Alright," said Ben. "We'll be at the diner around four if you want to stop by," he added.
Hunter nodded before turning his bicycle in the direction of the highschool, taking off.
FOUR-FIFTEEN PM
Hunter lead Taylor down the street of Liberty Avenue. Taylor had told him that he had never been to the Liberty Diner, so Hunter was taking him there for lunch.
He had found Taylor at the warehouse district, with all of the other hustlers, after he had gotten out of school. They had talked and caught up. Taylor hadn't gotten a whole lot of buisness, but he had managed to make one hundred and fifty dollars.
"You'll gonna love this place," Hunter said referring to the diner.
Taylor nodded, looking down at his clothes. He had on a pair of faded blue jeans, a white tank top, dirty sneakers, and a dirty blue jean jacket. Hunter knew what he was feeling. He had always felt the same way when he was a hustler. Embarrased. Embarrased going into places looking like a street kid.
Hunter laid a gentle hand onto Taylor's right arm and said, "Don't be embarrased. Ben, Michael, or nobody will say anything bad to you."
Taylor gave him a small smile just as they reached the Liberty Diner.
"Ready?" asked Hunter.
Taylor nodded, "Yeah."
Hunter walked into the diner, with Taylor following. Hunter immediatly spotted Michael and Ben sitting with Emmett, Brian, and Ted. "There they are," he said as he pointed them out to Taylor.
Taylor looked to where Hunter was pointing. Hunter saw Taylor's face pale just before Taylor mumbled, "Shit," and walked out of the diner.
