When Justin and Emmett had reached their booth, and had sat down, a red-headed woman desended on them. "What can I get ya?" Justin was able to lip-read.
Justin had already informed Emmett of what he wanted, so Emmett did the ordering. "A double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake. And, a chicken salad sandwich and a diet coke."
The woman nodded. "Aren't you going to introduce us?"
Emmett smiled, "Sorry. This is my cousin Justin. Justin, this is Debbie. Michael's mamma." Justin smiled at her and gave her a small wave.
"Nice to meet you, Sunshine," she said as she looked directly at Justin. At Justin's raised eyebrow, she knew instantly what he was asking. "Because of your smile. It's bright, like the sun." Justin gave a small blush, and Debbie said, "I'll go put your orders in."
After she had left, Justin started, About Brian.
That was as far as he got before Emmett held up a perfectly manicured hand. Not wanting what he said to get back to Brian, he stuck to signing. You'd do good to stay away from Brian Kinney, baby. Have you ever had a boyfriend? Ever kissed a guy? When Justin shook his head no, Emmett continued. Find someone your own age. Someone nice that you can expierence all of those firsts with. Brian's more of the screw them and leave them type. He doesn't do boyfriends. And, he never sleeps with a person more than once.
Justin was a little dissapointed at Emmett's description of Brian. The minute his eyes had landed on the brunet, he had felt a connection. And, when his eyes had looked into Brian's hazel ones, he had seen his future. 'God, that sounds so corny,' Justin thought. But, it was the truth.
Maybe he's ready for a change.
Emmett hated to dash Justin's hopes, but he didn't want to see his baby cousin get hurt. The poor boy had already had a tough life as it was. Don't get your hopes up, baby. Don't expect anything from Brian.
Before he could say anything more, his friends were at their table. "You comming to Babylon tonight?" asked Michael.
Emmett nodded, "We'll be there." At Justin's confused look, he clairified, Babylon is agay dance club. Lots of hot guys! Justin smiled. He'd defiantly have to check that out, especially since Brian was going to be there.
"Why's he commin'?" Michael asked, nodding his head in Justin's direction. "He's deaf for crying out loud!"
What's his problem? I don't think that he likes me.
He just needs to get to know you. Emmett signed back to Justin.
Well, he's acting like an ass. Justin signed, causing Emmett to burst out laughing.
Turning back to Michael, Emmett said, "Michael, sweetie, just because Justin's deaf doesn't mean that he can't dance. He feels the beat, the vibrations through the floor. And, he can read lips, so you might want to watch what you say."
Michael's eyes narrowed. "I don't care."
"Mickey, come on. Let's go," Brian said. Then, he walked away, expecting the others to follow him. He didn't want Michael picking on Justin, but he couldn't show his feelings. Everyone thought that he was a heartless bastard, and it was better if they kept thinking that. Showing feelings made you weak. Or, a lesbian. Brian had to stiffle a shudder at that. But, he couldn't help but feel a tingle of excitement and desire at the thought of seeing Justin later that night.
