Justin opened his eyes only to shut them tight when a flash of heat hit him. He groaned cover his eyes turning over in his bed something felt wrong. Risking his eyes he opened them up and glanced around his room. Frowned. 'How had he gotten back home?' the last thing he had remembered was… shit storming out of here after a scream feast with that moron David. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he looked down at himself… Daphne must’ve brought him back home and stripped him before tucking him into bed. Stumbling into the bathroom he splashed cold water on his face, it felt as if he was walking through some sort of heavy fog. His legs felt like they had lead in them. What the hell had he done last night? As he finished brushing his teeth a glint from the mirror got his attention, it was then that he saw the leather cord hanging down from around his neck. The pendant that hung from the cord felt cool where it was resting against his bare chest. “Where did you come from?” he mumbled as he fingered the crescent shaped carving. FLASH Two men entwined, rutting against each other like animals. FLASH Jean’s yanked down to his ankles… hot skin pressed against him. FLASH Moaning... FLASH "Please..." FLASH A pale hand… Gripping a strong well-muscled back finger nails scraping down ward. FLASH A scream as heat consumes both bodies… FLASH Justin shook his head feeling buzzed, it was as if someone had just yanked something vital away from him leaving him breathless. It happened so fast he wasn’t even sure of what he had seen. A short bark came from the side of the bathroom door, glancing down he smiled. “Moon…” he called out to the 3 year old German shepherd that was sitting there staring at him. “Hey, come here girl.” Dark Brown eyes looked right back at him a low growl rising from her throat. Justin took a step forward only to have her give a sharp bark. “What the hell’s the matter with you?” Three more short bark’s stopped Justin from getting any closer. The blond frowned this was new. “Come here.” The growling increased and Moon stood in a defensive stance it looked like she was gonna… pounce on him at any minute. “Knock it off Moon.” At that moment Justin’s pupils seemed to enlarge making his blue eyes pitch black with thin blue rings around them. The animal let out a whimper before he scampered out of the room. “Moon!” Justin scratched at his brow. “Crazy ass dog.” He muttered running a hand through his blond locks, as he started the shower. Justin never noticed the eyes watching him from the bathroom window. ~*~ “You’re late.” “Tell me something I don’t know.” Justin muttered as he made his way to the back room of the video/comic store. Owen shook his head at the obvious attitude he was gonna have to put up with today. “Late night?” Justin heard the question through the open door of the storage room. Owen was kind of weird. He’d always asked Justin about what he’d done outside of work not because he really cared either. Justin secretly thought that Owen liked to live vicariously through others. “No.” he answered throwing his jacket onto the revolving chair in the corner. It was his day to restock the shelves but that was the last thing he felt like doing. Pulled out the leather cord from underneath his shirt fingered the pendant. The crescent shape moon drew his attention it shined in the light of the storage room. Meus decorus Angelus… in articulo mortis, graviora manent The words echoed in his mind, triggering a vague memory... FLASH *The little boy no more than eight walks down the white halls of County General. The sign that hangs down from the center of the hall reads in large letter’s PSYCH WARD. His small pale finger’s pressed against the cold walls as the blond walks with out looking where he is going. Dark blue Rebox slap against the floor as he hums a tune that his mother use to sing to him when he was a lot smaller. Shaking his head so that blond locks moved from his blue eyes the boy leans against the third door on his right. Doesn’t know how long he stands there before he’s falling back wards his back earning a loud smack against the newly waxed floor. Wide blue eyes look up as a man smile’s down at him, he scoops him up off the floor holding him close as he makes sure no harm has come to the boy. The man sets him down on one of the cabinets that hold the medicine. “Well you seem fine, wanna tell me what you were doing here?” He shrugs his shoulder’s remembering how his mother always told him not to talk to strangers even if they did seem nice. “Justice.” The nice man looked up as a nurse poked her head into the room, “Oh.. um…” “What is it Marcy?” “Mr. McDermott is hiding from the ‘evil hunters’ again could you?” “Sure Marce.” The man with the same eyes as him smiled at the lady before looking back at him. “You stay right here, and when I come back I’ll take you to your mom ok?” When the nurse and the nice man leave he hops down from the counter and quietly fallows them down the hall to the room that is now wide open. Looking in he sees the nice man talking to someone crouched down in one of the cabinets. “He doesn’t like the hunters.” He say’s quietly, the nurse is hovering with something in her hands. The blond is quick as he moves into the room. “You’re not supposed to be in here!” “He won’t come out that way.” The blond boy say’s. Marcy is reaching to grab him up off the floor but the nice man waves her off, she argues that this is no place for a child but walks off anyway. “He doesn’t like her.” “Justin, How did you know that?” Justice asked. Mr. McDermott is quiet now his deep hazel eyes staring intensely at him. Little Justin smiles brightly and reaches out with his small hand to the eighteen-year-old brunet hiding in the corner. The young man freezes up a moment before relaxing and peering at the boy. He throws an arm around the boy hugging him. “in articulo mortis, graviora manent.” It was said so low that only Justin heard it. “Brae why don’t we get you back into bed now?” The auburn haired teen looked at Justice suspiciously before getting to his feet. Justin fallows Brae to his bed making sure he’s tucked in. A glint catches his eye Justin reaches into the open shirt grasping at the shiny pendent hanging off a leather cord. Brae presses a kiss to Justin’s blond mop. “Meus decorus Angelus…He’s special.” He whispers almost as if he’s afraid someone is listening in. “No, I’m Justin.” Brae smiles down at him.* ~*~ Brian rolled over and unfortunately right off the platform bed resulting in a loud thump. Fallowed by a few explicative words and the abuse of the navy blue duvet. Rubbing his hand over his face he eye’s the clock on the nightstand. “Way too fucking early…” he crawls underneath the duvet and proceeded to close his eyes. That’s where he was found hours later, still asleep… on the floor. A smack to the head by newspaper wouldn’t do. A light shaking to the shoulder’s got an annoyed growl. “Its 7 in the morning, what the fuck do you want?” “Try three in the afternoon dude.” A tuff of hair stuck out from underneath the duvet, “Why are you bothering me than?” “Ben said to.” “Get out.” “He said to wake you up on account of your coming in past dawn.” The young man leaned down pulling the cover’s revealing a very irritated man. “You know you’re cute in the morning.” Out in the kitchen Ben placed two mugs on the counter, quietly made his way to the living area pushing back the sofa a few feet, glancing around thoughtfully he made sure the lamp and coffee table were pushed back too, before walking back to the open kitchen. Behind him a body flew across the spacious room landing on the other side with a loud oomph. Taking a seat on the stool at the end of the counter he watched as the young man jump to his feet scratching his head, and walked over to the counter. The two glance at one another before a big grin spreads on the younger man’s face. “That was fun.” “That was stupid.” “I made it across the room with out crashing into anything.” He leans against the counter with a proud stance. Ben shakes his head amused. “I moved the furniture this time.” He replies handing the younger man a sandwich. “You gotta admit that was cool.” “Hunter you say that every time he throws you out of his room.” “But it was!” “Next time you wanna wake me up don’t send in the little hustler.” “Ex-hustler to you pal.” “Don’t call me pal.” Brian snapped reaching for his mug, he had already showered and now donned a pair of jeans, the top unbuttoned, “and don’t call me dude either.” He said pointedly after taking in the much-needed caffeine. “Are you two done, we have bigger problems.” “What could possibly be wrong on this glorious day.” Sarcasm is obviously dripping here off of Brian’s words but is cut by the slapping of today’s paper on the table. “What the fuck do I care if Britney spears kicks her man out of the house?” “What?” Ben looks down at the paper and turns it around, “Not that, that.” “Local boy found dead on the scene, has authorities baffled… why the fuck do I care about this shit?” “Look at the name.” Ben insisted. Brian rolled his eyes but picked up the paper and scanned the article that Ben had pointed out. David Alexander Taylor, age 26 found mutilated in his Pittsburgh apartment this morning… This is the fifth body found in the last three months authorities have yet to find any suspects. David was a student at Carnegie Mellon, who dropped out in the last year to take care of his cousin, and surviving relative Justin Taylor 18. Justin who nine years before had lost both his mother and sister in a tragic car accident… “You’re showing me this because?” Another paper dated a few day’s old was slapped on to the table fallowed by three more, all with article’s stating young men who were found in the same state as David. Strangely all these young men had the misfortune of not only the being same age but also having the exact features as… Justin. Brian met Ben’s eyes both knowing what this meant. One wanting to bury it the other wanting to wish it never happened in the first place.
