Justin ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to think of who could be giving out information. Rick was watching him, knowing or at least having an idea who had told Stockwell about what Ethan had done and how they had the proof they needed now to sink him. “Hey,” Brian said coming outside. “Is everything okay?” “No. One of the people in there told Stockwell that we had the evidence we needed,” Justin hissed. “So, what?” Rick asked. “We all have a copy. They would have to kill us all. We are not backing away this time.” Brian swallowed hard not knowing what to do next. He had no idea what he was going to do. “But who is it?” Justin asked angrily. Rick sighed. “Cynthia is his niece,” Rick told them. “What?” Justin asked outraged. “I never trusted her,” Brian whispered. “That’s why you lied about our witness,” Justin said. Brian nodded. “Ever since I met her, I got a bad vibe from her,” Brian told them. Justin sighed, not sure what to say. “So, are we going to turn her in? We don’t know how deep she is. What if she was just trying to help her uncle, thinking that he was innocent?” Rick asked. “She was at the house,” Brian said suddenly. “What?” Justin asked. “The day of the explosion,” Brian told them. Rick and Justin stared at Brian like he was nuts. “She brought me some papers. Said she had forgotten to give them to me for a case I was working on,” Brian told them. “They were just copies of what I had.” Justin frowned and rubbed his temples. Rick shook his head, not wanting to believe what he was hearing. “No shit,” Justin told him. Brian nodded slowly with his tongue in cheek expression. “They are working together. It’s a family business after all,” Justin said sarcastically. “This is one of the reasons why everyone says that the police it’s just an organized mob,” Rick said. “You shouldn’t be surprised,” Brian agreed as he looked at Justin. “All this time, I trusted her,” Justin told them. “So what now?” Rick asked. “Don’t tell anyone,” Brian said. “Just in case.” Rick nodded. “I’m going to go back to the house,” Rick told them. Once Rick was inside, Justin moved in front of Brian and hugged him. “What’s wrong?” Justin asked. “What do you mean?” Brian asked giving him a smile. “You seem preoccupied by something. Are you worried about the captain?” Justin asked frowning. Brian shook his head. “It’s nothing,” Brian assured him. “I need to go out.” “Why?” Justin asked worried for his man. “I have more cases you know. I have an informant who wants to meet with me,” Brian lied. Justin nodded and kissed him. “Later,” Justin told him. Brian pulled the blond to him and kissed him hard. When he let go of the blond, he smiled. He couldn’t tell Justin any of what was going on. He was going to go get his son on his own. He wasn’t going to put Justin and risk, knowing that Stockwell wanted to kill him. He hoped everything went okay and that he would get to come back home with Justin and his son. “Later,” Brian whispered. *** Brian opened the door to his mother’s house and went in with his gun in hand. Everything was dark, so he turned the switch and adjusted his eyes to the lit up room. He looked around the living room and slowly started moving to the dinning room. He heard someone whimpering and went to where the noise was. He found his mother on the floor crying. “Mom, are you okay?” Brian asked as he helped her sit up. “Where is Gus?” “He took him,” Joan gasped. “Where is he?” Brian asked. Joan pointed towards the kitchen. “Okay. Can you get up?” Brian asked. Joan nodded. “Get up. Call the cops and get out of the house,” Brian told her. Joan shook her head. “You have to get out. He has a gun,” Joan whispered. “I have to go get Gus,” Brian told her. “He said he was going to kill you,” Joan told him. “Don’t worry. I will be okay,” Brian assured her. “Go.” Brian got up and walked towards the kitchen. He looked back to see that his mother had moved. He took a deep breath and walked inside. He found Gus sitting in one of the chairs crying and holding one of his teddy bears. “Gus,” Brian said walking towards him. “Are you okay?” Gus nodded. “Bad man,” Gus sobbed. “Where is he, Gus?” Brian asked. Gus pointed behind Brian. Brian frowned and turned around ready to shoot Stockwell but everything went black. *** “So, where is Brian?” Miller asked as he put his jacket on. “He had to go out,” Justin told him. “Oh, so where is Hunter?” Miller asked. “Michael and Ben came for him,” Justin told him. “He’s staying with them until we get the house and everything. He has a curfew.” Miller smirked and nodded. “Well, I had a good time. I’m glad it all worked out,” Miller told him. “Billy, come on.” Justin walked out of Rick’s house with Jeremy and Billy after saying goodbye. They had a good time together, with their little celebration, because they had finally had everything they needed to go after Stockwell. “Maybe we can get together before I leave,” Miller told Justin. Billy got in the car and just waited. Justin nodded and smiled as he looked at Billy. “Are you taking him with you?” Justin asked. “If he wants to come,” Miller said. “I don’t think he is going to say no,” Justin assured him. Miller laughed and nodded. “Hold on a minute,” Justin said as he grabbed his phone. Justin saw that it was Joan’s number in the screen. He wondered what she wanted so late and worried that something was wrong with Gus. “Joan?” Justin asked. “No. Jim,” Stockwell told him. “What the fuck are you doing there?” Justin asked alarmed. “I am waiting for you. Don’t take too long. I’ll kill them, even Brian,” Stockwell hissed and then hung up. “Fuck!” Justin yelled. “What’s wrong?” Miller asked concerned. “It’s Stockwell. He has my family,” Justin choked out. *** “Jesus!” Ben said as he moved to the door. “I’m coming.” Ben opened the door and frowned. He stared back at a guy he had never seen. “May I help you?” Ben asked. “Is Hunter here?” Billy asked. Ben nodded. “I’m his friend, Billy. I need to talk to him,” Billy told him. “Okay. Come on in,” Ben told him. Billy went inside and Ben went to get Hunter. Then he came back with the teen wondering what was going on. “What do you want?” Hunter asked sounding bothered. “How did you know I was here? It’s late you know.” Billy frowned. “Jeremy left with Justin. Stockwell got hold of Brian and Gus and his mother,” Billy said. Hunter opened his eyes wide. Ben went to get Michael in their bedroom. “What are you talking about?” Hunter asked worried. “I’m scared,” Billy told him. “What if something happens to them?” “Nothing is going to happen,” Hunter told him. “You don’t know that,” Billy said in a hoarse voice. “You are not going to cry, are you?” Hunter asked rubbing his face. “Michael?” Ben said coming out of their bedroom, behind Michael. “Where are you going?” Billy and Hunter looked at Michael who was putting on his shirt. “I’m going to Joan’s house,” Michael said grabbing his keys. “Have you lost your mind?” Ben asked. “I’m calling the cops.” “I’m going with you,” Billy said. “Me too,” Hunter told him running to his room to get his shoes. Ben took a deep breath and grabbed his cell phone. He was going too. *** Justin got to the house and got out of the car with Jeremy. Joan was outside the house pacing back and forth while crying. Justin ran up to her and hugged her. “What happened?” Justin asked. “This man came earlier and said he knew Brian and was waiting for Brian to show up. He showed me his badge and I…I let him inside,” Joan said crying. “It’s okay,” Justin assured her. “When he was inside, he hit me and took Gus away from me,” Joan told him. “Did you call the cops?” Miller asked. Joan nodded. “Okay, I want you to stay here,” Justin told her. “I’ll go through the back,” Miller said taking out his gun and running to the back door. “Justin,” Joan said, grabbing the blond’s arm. “What is it?” Justin asked her. “Brian is inside,” Joan told him. “It will be okay,” Justin told her. “Now, stay here. I am going inside.” Joan nodded and let him go. Justin opened the front door and stepped inside. He pulled out his gun and started walking slowly in the living room. Then he stopped cold when he heard the shot coming from the kitchen. He started running there and when he reached the room, he found Miller on the floor face down near the kitchen door and Brian in the same position at the feet of the round table. “Dada,” Gus whispered from where he was hiding at the end of the counter. “Gus,” Justin said and ran to the boy. Justin picked Gus up and was walking out when Stockwell came inside pointing a gun at him. Justin lifted his gun and pointed at Stockwell. “Put it down,” Stockwell hissed. “I’ll shoot him.” Justin gulped and looked at Gus who was burying his face on his neck. “He is so young,” Stockwell pointed out. “Drop the gun.” Justin sighed and let go of the gun. “Let my son go,” Justin said. “Please.” “After I kill you,” Stockwell told him smiling. “You have to pay.” *** “Go, faster,” Hunter told him. “I am going as far as I can,” Ben told him. “I knew I should have driven,” Michael told him. “Jesus,” Billy whispered. “Come on, Ben. Drive faster,” Hunter told him. Hunter was worried, even if he didn’t want to admit it. He felt like Brian and Justin were part of his family. The one he wished he'd had but never did. “Oh, great,” Michael hissed when he heard the police siren. “You got to be kidding me,” Hunter yelled. “Now what?” Ben asked stopping the car. Michael looked through the rearview mirror and when the cop got out and started walking, he put the car in drive. “Drive,” Michael told him. “Michael,” Ben warned. “Drive,” Michael hissed as he put his foot on the gas. “We are in so much trouble,” Billy told Hunter. Ben grabbed hold of the wheel and pushed Michael away. He kept on driving with the cops behind them. “That’s okay. This is one of the ways to get a cop to the house real quick,” Hunter told him smirking. Billy sighed and nodded. *** Brian opened his eyes and frowned as he felt the pain in the back of his head. He sat up and looked at Miller who was face down in the kitchen. He frowned and moved to him to check for a pulse. “Don’t move,” Stockwell hissed. Brian turned around to see Stockwell pointing his gun towards Justin and Gus. “Fuck,” Brian hissed. “Let my son go.” “I don’t think so,” Stockwell told them. “This will be over soon. Finally.” “He is just a boy,” Justin told him. “Let him go.” Stockwell shrugged. “You should have thought of him before you came after me,” Stockwell hissed. “I’m ruined because of you two and you will pay.” Brian looked around for his gun but it wasn’t nowhere in sight. He cursed under his breath for not being more careful. He looked up and looked at Stockwell when he heard the man laughing. “I’m not that stupid,” Stockwell said cocking the gun. Justin looked at his gun on the floor next to him and knew he wouldn’t reach it in time. He searched frantically for a solution in his head. He needed to save his son but there wasn’t anything he could do. “Ahhhh!” Joan yelled as she brought down the frying pan on Stockwell’s head. “Mom!” Brian yelled as he got up quickly and ran to get the gun away from Stockwell. Justin looked from Joan to Stockwell’s limp body on the floor. He sighed and kissed Gus on the temple, happy that Joan had been there. He looked at her and smiled. “You boys know I don’t want guns in the house,” Joan told them before she put the pot down and walked away. “Your mother,” Justin said smirking. Brian just nodded and watched, a little stunned, as his mother left the kitchen. “Is he dead?” Justin asked. Brian checked for pulse and shook his head. He looked at Miller when he heard the man moaning. “He is out cold,” Brian said taking out his handcuffs. Brian cuffed Stockwell and then moved towards Miller. “Are you okay?” Brian asked. “Ah,” Miller gasped. “Fuck.” “You’ll live,” Brian said inspecting the wound. “What a night,” Miller said. “Is he badly hurt?” Justin asked. Miller shook his head. “No,” Brian said walking towards Justin and Gus. “He will be okay.” “Are you okay?” Justin asked, looking at Brian. Brian nodded and took Gus and kissed him and hugged him. “Jeremy!” Billy shouted from outside the house. “Is that Billy?” Miller asked, putting pressure on his shoulder where he had been shot. “I think so,” Justin said as he looked at Brian and Gus. Brian looked at Justin and smiled. He pulled Justin close to him and kissed him. “Guys!” Hunter said coming into the kitchen. “You are okay.” Billy ran to Jeremy and hugged him. “We were chased by the cops,” Hunter told them. “Ben and Michael are outside arguing with them right now. He wants to give them a ticket.” Justin and Brian smiled at each other. “Never a dull moment,” Justin whispered. “Get me an ambulance,” Miller told them. “This hurts like a motherfucker.” “This has been a great night,” Hunter told them. “I want to be a cop.” Brian rolled his eyes. “Are there paramedics outside?” Miller asked. “I’ll go check,” Hunter said, leaving the kitchen. “Are you okay?” Billy asked Jeremy. “I am now that you are here,” Miller told him. Billy smiled and kissed his man. “Is it out time over, Daddy?” Gus asked looking at Brian. Brian smiled and nodded. “Yes. We are going to go home, Sunny Boy,” Brian assured him. “Good,” Gus said. Justin smiled and kissed his son and then Brian again. He was so happy that they were okay. He could have lost them; he would have died if that had been the case. He put his arm around Brian’s waist and walked outside where more police cars were arriving. He smiled and went to where Ben and Michael were arguing with the cop. He would straighten things out before taking Brian and Gus back to the hotel where they could rest.
