Cody frowned as he tried to move. He looked up at Chris who just had cuffed him to the toilet. “Can you please just do one hand? In case I need to pee.” Cody told him. “I guess you will have to hold it.” Chris said. “Please.” Cody begged. “I won’t be going anywhere.” Chris sighed. “Please. This is uncomfortable.” Cody told him. Chris shook his head and left him there. Cody frowned and glared at the door. Then he did the only thing he could do. He stared screaming and Chris came back into the bathroom after a few minutes. “What the fuck is your problem?” Chris asked angry. “Just one hand, please.” Cody begged. Chris rolled his eyes and took out the keys. He cuffed one of Cody’s hands then linked him back to the toilet. Chris left then and went to do his work. Cody smiled and stood up. He could definitely move more. He studied the structure and new that a few good kicks and he would be able to pull free, but they would hear him. Then he heard Hunter and Billy arguing. The shouts were loud so he decided to test his luck and started kicking the toilet. After a long while, the door opened and Chris stood there. “What do you think you are doing?” Chris asked approaching him. Cody glared at him and when Chris came close he kicked him in the stomach. Chris groaned feeling the pain course through him. Cody smiled and grabbed him by the neck where Chris still had a bandage. “Fuck.” Chris hissed. “I should have shot you in the head.” Cody hissed as he let go of Chris. Chris reached for his gun but Cody was quicker. He grabbed it and then the keys and freed himself. He cuffed Chris and left him there. He walked to the first floor and was going to go out the front door when Billy ran inside. “Cody.” Billy gasped. “Come here.” Cody said and looked through the window. Cody frowned and started dragging Billy through the back. When they were outside, Cody smiled. “I am going to make you pay.” Cody hissed. “No, please.” Billy cried. Both of them were pushed to the ground when the house exploded. Cody turned around and opened his eyes wide. A big ball of fired was engulfing the house. He thought how lucky he was that he was out of the house before it exploded. Then he turned to grab Billy, but the teen wasn’t there. *** “What are we supposed to do with him?” Michael asked. “Just look out for him.” Brian said. “It’s not a science.” Michael sighed and looked towards Hunter who was sitting on the couch staring at the floor. “Fine.” Michael told him. “Where are you guys going to stay?” “Probably at a hotel or Daphne’s house.” Brian told him. “Justin called her and she said we could use the house.” Michael nodded. “But I think it’s best if we stayed at a hotel.” Brian told him. “Are they ever coming back?” Michael asked. “Justin told them to stay away.” Brian told him. “Things are getting worse.” Michael frowned. He was scared that something could happen to Brian or Justin. “Thank god that Jessica is an editor and can work from anywhere and Daphne owns half the company and they can't throw her out.” Brian said smirking. Michael nodded. “We have to go.” Justin said coming out of the bathroom and towards them. Brian nodded. Hunter looked up and saw Brian and Justin leaving. “Where are you guys going?” Hunter asked as he got up. “We have to go.” Brian told him. “You are leaving me?” Hunter asked scared. “You will be safe here.” Brian assured him. “Ben and Michael are going to watch over you.” “I can’t take care of myself.” Hunter whispered as he looked at Justin. “We’ll come back later.” Justin assured him. “Come on.” Michael said stepping in. “Let me show you your room.” Hunter took a deep breath and nodded. He gave Brian one last look and left. “Call us if anything happens.” Brian told Ben. Ben nodded. Justin gave him a small smile and left with Brian behind him. *** “What about this?” Justin asked looking at a shirt. “For who?” Brian asked glaring at the shirt. “For Hunter.” Justin told him. “Oh. It’s him.” Brian said. Justin nodded and grabbed a couple, different colors. He looked back at their cart and then at Brian. “I think we have enough things for a few days.” Justin told him. Brian nodded. “Let’s go pay. Then we’ll find a hotel. I don’t want anyone trying to do anything to me at Daphne’s house.” Justin said. “They will be back soon. I don’t want them in danger.” Brian nodded. “Justin.” Brian said once they were out and getting in the car. “What?” Justin asked. “Are you okay?” Brian asked him. “I’m fine why?” Justin asked. Brian frowned. “Get in the car, Brian. I don’t have time for this.” Justin told him. Brian got in the passenger seat and put his seat belt on. He frowned not knowing what to do. The previous day they had spent most of the day at the department giving out statements. Then they had gone to Michael’s apartment and spend the night there. Today Justin had woken up and he looked as if nothing had happened. The drove in silence and reached the hotel they talked about staying in. They got their things out and asked for a room. Brian used his credit card since all of Justin’s had been burnt at the house. “There is so much I have to do.” Justin told him. Brian nodded and looked at the suite they had. He wished they were there under different circumstances. He sat on the bed and rubbed the back of his neck. “What is it?” Justin asked coming out of the bathroom. “I was just thinking.” Brian told him. Justin frowned and leaned against the doorway to listen to the brunet. “I kept thinking that I was going to die as soon as I saw the house.” Brian whispered. Justin closed his eyes. “I was so…so scared.” Brian told him. “But I’m okay.” Justin told him walking towards Brian. Brian nodded. “Gus could have been there.” Brian whispered. Justin sat down and took Brian’s hand on his. “I am so thankful that he wasn’t. That we thought about the consequences before we went after this.” Justin told him kissing Brian’s temple. Brian nodded. “What about you? Are you okay? You haven’t said anything.” Brian told him. “It’s too much. Too many thoughts.” Justin said. “I don’t have time to freak out, Brian.” Brian looked at the blond in surprise. He arched a brow and just stared. “Once I get Stockwell, then I’ll think about everything that has happened.” Justin told him. Brian just nodded. Brian then got up and ordered something to eat. Justin went to take a shower. When the food got there, they sat down to eat. Brian’s cell phone ran and he answered. Justin watched him and then frowned when he saw Brian’s face. “Who was it?” Justin asked. Brian shrugged. “Someone telling me that they were going to kill me.” Brian told him. “What else is new?” Justin sighed. “Just eat and forget about it.” Brian told him. Justin nodded. They ate in silence, each of them thinking about what they were going to do. After a while, Justin got up. Brian arched a brow and stared at Justin. “I’m going to bed.” Justin told him. Brian nodded. He watched the blond walk away and frowned. He looked at Justin’s plate and sighed. Justin hadn’t eaten a thing. He got up and threw everything in the trash. Then he took a shower and went to bed too. “Are you asleep?” Justin asked a while after Brian had gotten in the bed. “No.” Brian told him. Justin turned around and faced Brian. “What are we going to do?” Justin asked. “They want us dead.” “We’ll just get them first.” Brian assured him. Brian pulled Justin closer to him and kissed him hard. “I won’t let them win.” Brian promised him. Justin smiled as he moved his hands towards Brian’s cock. “Fuck me.” Justin hissed. Brian got on top of the blond and kissed him. He ran his hands all over Justin. He couldn’t get enough of the blond. He was scared. They were closing in on Rickert and it was decided that Justin would be the one to go after him. He didn’t want anything going wrong. “Brian.” Justin muttered. “What?” Brian asked. “Where are you?” Justin asked him. “I’m sorry.” Brian told him and kissed him. “I was just thinking.” “Then don’t.” Justin told him smiling. Brian smiled and didn’t think of anything else but the two of them. *** Brian knocked on the door and went in with Justin after Cynthia told them they could come in. “Are you guys okay?” Cynthia asked seeing how tired they look. Brian nodded and sat down. “We have to talk to you.” Justin told her sitting as well. “What is this about?” Cynthia asked. “I know who tried to kill me.” Justin told her. Cynthia frowned. “You said you didn’t.” Cynthia told him a little angry. “I couldn’t risk anyone hearing me.” Justin told her. “No one can’t know about this.” “Why?” Cynthia asked. “I don’t trust anyone.” Justin told her. “There have to be a couple of us involved.” “What is he talking about?” Cynthia asked looking at Brian. “It was someone from our own department.” Brian told her. Cynthia stared at them like they were nuts. But then realized that it could happen, so she just prepared herself for what was coming. “Tell me everything.” Cynthia told them. Justin nodded and told her everything that had happened. Cynthia sat there not believing what was going on. “You need more evidence.” Cynthia told them. “What are you talking about?” Brian asked angry. “This is just hearsay.” Cynthia told them. “Relax, okay. I believe you.” Brian and Justin nodded. “You need to get this out of Stockwell himself. Or find something more incriminating. Maybe a witness. Do you have anyone?” Cynthia asked. Brian shook his head. “No.” Brian said. Justin swallowed but kept his face unreadable. He didn’t know why Brian was lying. “The one we had died in the explosion.” Brian explained. Cynthia nodded. “Well, keep this quiet.” Cynthia assured them. “We don’t want anyone reporting back to Stockwell.” “Thank you.” Justin said getting up. “We’ll tell you anything new we get.” Cynthia nodded and watched them go. She couldn’t believe what they had discovered. *** Justin followed Rickert up the stairs of the motel. He looked around but didn’t see anyone. The place was practically deserted. If it wasn’t because he knew that Brian and the others were there in case he needed them, he would have been freaking out. “How old are you?” Rickert asked. “Eighteen.” Justin told him. “You look younger.” Rickert told him. “What do you know?” Justin said smiling. “Everyone tells me that.” Rickert nodded and they went inside the room. Justin looked around and then back at Rickert. “Get on the bed.” Rickert told him. Justin took off his leather jacket and smiled. “Can I put my jacket over in the closet?” Justin asked like a little kid. “I just bought it.” Rickert nodded. Justin went to the closet and made sure that the microphone didn’t show. He fixed the collar and hoped that the tiny video camera that Rick had given him worked. He had inserted it in the collar. He looked back and was confident that it was in the right angle. “Come here. What’s taking you so long?” Rickert asked. “I’m so sorry. I’m never done this before.” Justin told him. “I mean, I have. But I never come to a place like this. I always stay at the bar or close to it.” Rickert nodded towards the bed. Justin got in the bed and smiled. “What do you want me to do?” Justin asked as he took off his shirt and just kneeled. “Take off all your clothes.” Rickert told him. Justin nodded and did. He looked at the man who was still clothed. He saw as Rickert started smirking and there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that Rickert was their man. *** Miller came inside the van with a tray full of coffee. He handed one to Brian and took one before he handed the tray to another detective. He sat down and looked at his watch. “Everything okay?” Miller asked. “They are talking.” Carson told him. Miller nodded and looked at Brian. “Man, you have to relax.” Miller told him. “Jeremy.” Brian said. “What?” Miller asked. “Fuck off.” Brian told him. “You don’t know shit.” Miller just nodded. Brian frowned and looked back at the detective. “I’m sorry.” Brian told him moving his chair closer. “No problem.” Miller told him and took a sip of his coffee. Brian looked at the two detectives and frowned. “Can you guys go out for a second?” Brian asked. Carson and Nicholson looked at each other. They shrugged and got up, leaving Brian and Jeremy alone. “How are you doing?” Brian asked. “I want to catch this bastard.” Miller said. “I want to see them locked behind bars or dead. I won’t rest until I see one or the other.” Brian nodded. “We’ll get them.” Miller told him. “Of course we will.” Brian told him. Brian leaned back in the chair and took out a cigarette before he got up and left the van. He needed to relax. He knew that Justin was a great cop. He needed to let the blond do his job and not let his feelings get in the way. The other two detectives went back inside leaving Brian alone in the dark night. Brian looked up and didn’t even see the moon. When he finished his cigarette, he went back inside. “Nothing yet.” Miller told him. Brian nodded and was about to sit down when he paused. “He's in trouble.” Brian hissed. “What are you talking about?” Miller asked as he looked at Carson and Nicholson who were frowning and shaking their head. “Everything is okay.” “Wait.” Carson said. “I hear choking.” Brian turned around and jumped out of the van. Miller got up and followed suit just like the other two detectives. They got to the motel and went up the stairs. Brian kicked the door open and went in with gun in hand to find Justin on top of Rickert putting on a pair handcuffs. Brian arched a brow and lowered his gun. “What took you guys so long?” Justin asked as he got up and started to get dressed. Miller scratched the back of his head as he looked at Carson and Nicholson taking Rickert away. “Did you read him his rights?” Brian asked. Justin nodded and got up. He put on his shirt and then grabbed his shoes. “Jesus.” Brian said as he looked at Justin’s neck. “It’s nothing.” Justin told him. “Say that to the dead guys.” Miller pointed out before he left the room. “Don’t touch anything. I’ll have a team in here in no time.” Brian and Justin looked at each other and then hugged. Brian kissed him hard and held Justin tightly to him. *** Justin smiled and shook hands with Carson and Nicholson. They were so happy that they had caught Rickert. He walked towards his desk and came face to face with Rick. “I heard that you caught your man.” Rick said smiling. “Congratulations.” Justin nodded. “He is talking about everything that he has done. Carson says that he tried implicating Stockwell but Rickert denied everything.” Justin told him. “That’s a shame.” Rick said sincerely. “I am going to get him either way.” Justin told him serious. Rick nodded. “We need to talk.” Rick said when Justin started moving away. “We do?” Justin asked. Rick nodded. “So, are you ready to come clean?” Justin asked, looking at his partner. Rick looked around but there was nobody in the hall. “Ronny is involved in this.” Rick said sadly. Justin closed his eyes not wanting to believe it. “Stockwell has made me do some favors because of that. He basically leaves me alone knowing I don’t approve of this whole thing.” Rick told him. “But when it all started, he told me not to help and I had to do what he said.” Justin didn’t know what to say. “He didn’t kill anyone?” Justin asked in a low voice. “No.” Rick told him. “But Stockwell has pretty compromising pictures of him and even a video. I…I had to protect my son, Justin.” Rick told him. “Okay.” Justin said looking at the floor. “I…wow.” Rick licked his lips. “He can talk to someone.” Justin told him. “It’s better that he talks about this to someone than hide it.” Rick nodded. “I talked to him about it. He wants to come clean.” Rick told him. “He says that he recognized one of the guys that was found dead. That they were friends.” Justin sighed. “He says he is tired of working for Stockwell.” Rick told him. Justin nodded. He looked at his friend and smiled. He understood him. He would do anything for his kids too, so he couldn’t judge his partner.
