Sorry it took me a bit longer to update. To make it up again, there isn’t a cliffhanger this time. =) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brians POV Half of the night we did the rounds of all the animal homes in the city and called all the dog catchers. But no description of the dog they caught fit Jeannie. Finally Justin was too exhausted and didn’t have the strength to run around anymore. “Hey, I think for tonight it’s enough. We will look for her tomorrow again.” I whispered and carefully led him to my loft. Justin was even too week to protest when I put him into my bed and laid next to him. Even Brutus who instinctively noticed that we two were sad, jumped onto the bed and cuddled up between us. I stretched out my arm to rest it on his back. Justin did the same and our hands touched. He didn’t pull his hand away, so why should I do it? It just felt right to hold him and the dog. We three looked like a sweet little family. I know, that should be something scaring to me, but somehow I couldn’t care less. I was only worried about Justin. His pain was like my pain as well. God, I wished I’d knew what was wrong with me, but I really didn’t understand my feelings. Could it be that I was in love or something? I didn’t know these emotions, so I had no clue what exactly I felt for him. I just knew that I would do everything to make him smile again. All those thoughts made me pretty exhausted and I finally fell asleep, still with a warm feeling in my belly. Justin’s POV I awoke in the late morning. I had slept very well. When I noticed the warm body pressed against my back, I immediately knew why. For a few minutes I allowed myself to enjoy this feeling and pretended that everything was fine. But then I remembered that Jeannie was lost, hungry and probably in big danger. I had to go and rescue her! “I’m sorry”, I said and tried to push Brian away so that I could leave the bed. But he was like a octopus and his arms and legs were wrapped fast around me. I wiggled my body to free myself. “ Brian…” I hissed. “I have no time for this now!” “Hmm, love you” He mumbled into my neck and only then I noticed that he was still asleep. He would never say something like that if he was fully conscious. That I already knew. I kicked my feet a bit more and finally got free. I quickly put on my clothes. I decided to refrain from taking a shower because I didn’t want to wake up my - I mean - THE man. Before I left the loft, I still kissed Brian’s forehead. “Later.” It seemed as if he smiled at this, but he didn’t open his eyes. So I wasn’t sure if I only imagined things. It was a grey unkind day. If I wasn’t already down, I would be it now at the latest. I walked around for hours again. I wasn’t even hungry although I haven’t eaten for a while. I only felt a bit weak. I didn’t know where to look anymore though. It seemed as if I was running in circles only. Finally I went back to the park, sat down on a bench and cried. I didn’t know how long I sat here, but some time I had no tears to cry anymore. So I started to stare emotionlessly at the people in the park. Suddenly I heard some barking that sounded like -- “Jeannie!” I didn’t trust my eyes, but it looked like my dog that came along the way. Only that this dog was on a leash. And this leash a little girl held in her hand. “Jeannie!” I called once again though. The dog looked at me and suddenly it pulled like crazy at the leash. The child had no chance. The dog soon had broken free and ran over to me. It jumped up and down at me in pure joy. Now there were no doubts anymore that it really was my Jeannie. I started to cry again, but this time in happiness.
