A/N: Yeah, smack me. I totally forgot to post the chapter on here. I only noticed because I recently went throgh all my accounts. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. _________________________________________________________ Chapter 3 That’s when he noticed that the man he was talking to wasn’t actually a man, instead he was a merman. A beautiful one, that was for sure, but damn, he had fins. “You’re a merman.”, Brian mumbled and let loose of Justin’s arm. “That indeed I am, and I’m also a Prince. Sort of.”, Justin said and smiled shyly. He was proud to call himself a Prince, even if his so called father didn’t acknowledge this tiny fact very often. Only when he did something wrong or misbehaved. “Oh, really?”, Brian smirked and crocked his right eyebrow. He wanted to touch the fin desperately, but somehow he knew that now wasn’t the time to do so. Justin began to shiver and looked out into the water. “What’s going on?”, Brian asked irritated when the young merman began to crawl back to the ocean. “I have to go, my father is searching for me.”, Justin mumbled and went further away from Brian. As much as he would like to stay with the beautiful human, he knew that now wasn’t time or the place to tell him everything. Only one thing. “By the way. My name’s Justin.”, he said and turned around for one last time and looked into the hazel eyes of the man sitting upright in the warm sand. “I’m Brian.”, the chestnut haired man mumbled absently and with only a nod and a small smile Justin surfaced. When Brian finally was sure that Justin wouldn’t suddenly appear out of the water again, he sighed and let himself fall backward on the sand again. He rested his head on his arms and closed his eyes again, but this time he imagined a beautiful blond merman closing his arms around him. Brian sighed again. Even if it could be possible for them being together, Justin was still living in the damn sea. Damn it, he had a fish tail for Christ’s sake. How was it possible for the both of them to have a relationship, when he was living on land and his partner was living like a fish? He rolled his bottom lip inwards and began to chew on it. He thought back to all the times that his grandmother told him that someday he would have a special relationship to the ocean, and that he better always should wear his cowry shell bracelet, because one day it would save someone’s live. He also thought back about all the times Lindsay tried to tell him something about a boy she met at the beach, but that the boy was very shy and looked so young. That was the reason Brian had always ignored her, every time she tried to tell him about the boy. Was it possible that the boy Lindsay had told him about was actually Justin? And was it also possible that Justin would become his special relationship to the ocean? He sighed and stood up from the sand. It was time to ask Lindsay some serious questions. °*°*°*°*°*° Meanwhile Gus was in the library of the old castle searching for more of Ariel’s Diaries. He couldn’t understand why his mother needed more of them, it wasn’t like they couldn’t ask Justin about merpeople when they would meet him again. Okay, maybe the chance to see Justin again, before the summer was over was slim to none, but nevertheless Gus was tired of searching for the diaries. He sighed and went over to the cozy sofa and let himself fall down on it. His father had put it into the large room, when he had found him one time sound asleep in front of one of the large book walls. With a loud thud and an outraged “Linds!”, Brian entered the huge hall of the castle he was temporary living in. Gus who still lay flat on the couch in the library with his eyes closed sighed and stood up to greet his father in the entrance hall. “She’s already sleeping. She didn’t feel well.”, the young boy said when he entered the hall and watched his fathers back stiffen when he heard him. “Christ! How do you do that?”, Brian asked with a frown and turned around to his son. “Doin’ what dad?”, his son answered while wearing the same expression as the tall man in front of him. “Crawling in on me. Geeze, someday I might get a heartattack, and we wouldn’t want that, wouldn’t we Sonnyboy?”, he answered and winked at his Son, but not before pulling him into a tight hug and ruffling his son’s hair. “Guess who I meet down the beach, and by the way, what are you doing still up? Aren’t you supposted to be in bed?” “Daad!”, Gus answered with a slight whine and pulled out of his dad’s embrace. “I was searching for more of Ariel's diaries. Mom wants to have them.”, Gus answered and rolled his eyes, what made his father smirk. “So I guess you finally met Justin and now want to know everything you can about merpeople?”, the young man asked and cocked his eyebrow at his father, who only nodded in response. “You're too bright for your own good sonnyboy.”, Brian answered and followed his son back into the library. Never noticing the smiling blonde woman on top of the stairs. “Finally.”, she mumbled and went back to bed.
